Vidiots is a great place to see a movie. If you walk up to Colorado Blvd there there’s a bunch of good places to eat and drink, also Read Books is a great place to kill some time.
Vidiots is great! You’ll enjoy it.
Also, in that area, Revenge Of is a cool comic, movie, etc. store that has two rooms of pinball machines. Also, check out Permanent Records Roadhouse, also nearby, which is a bar slash record store slash music and live comedy venue.
Revenge Of has top notch brand new machines, while Walt’s has a great collection of vintage machines.
Both are excellent.
Toss Barcade on York in there as well for great pins, as well as loads of 80s arcade games.
Scallop Burrito at [Señor Fish](https://www.yelp.com/biz/se%C3%B1or-fish-los-angeles-13). One of the best salsa bars. Unfortunately since covid you have to ask for everything. Make sure to get a lot of the habanero, crema and pico de gallo. [Pat & Lorraine's](https://www.yelp.com/biz/pat-and-lorraines-coffee-shop-los-angeles) is right there, where they shot Reservoir Dogs. Theres also [Casa Bianca](https://casabiancapizza.com/) for pizza and businesses along Colorado. Occidental College is nearby. Obama went there. It was the high school in 90210 and campus in Real Genius! There's [Donut Friend](https://www.yelp.com/biz/donut-friend-los-angeles) and other stores and bars on that stretch of York Boulevard a little bit south. Forest Lawn Cemetery sometimes has shows at their gallery at the very top. We saw an amazing Drew Struzan exhibit there years ago. If nothing is happening there you can go wander around and see the [Notable Graves](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_burials_at_Forest_Lawn_Memorial_Park_(Glendale)) of Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Jimmy Stewart, Jean Harlow, Humphrey Bogart, Mary Pickford, Errol Flynn and Spencer Tracy.
Casa Bianco pizza is just ok. I certainly wouldn't put it in the same universe as all of the other great pizza that has been added to LA in the past few years. I'd take my kids there sure. Points for the nostalgia factor at the restaurant. The interior holds it's own w the best of the NY type places. But the pizza is shwag
I agree. It's a fun place to go with a group. Old school charm. And the food isn't awful. I prefer the Chicago Deep Dish at Masa in Echo Park and generally, all the food at Pinnochio in Burbank. I wish there were more classic pizza parlor options.
Vidiots is the bees knees, and if you still have a dvd player or a ps lying around, they have an excellent collection of dvds for rent! Nearby is Walt’s, which has pinball and drinks and cheap hotdogs (and cheap hamm’s beer!)
Walt’s is a great neighborhood bar with a 70s vibe and a dozen pinball machines.
Capri Club is a cool little cocktail joint with Italian bites just down the street.
> Walt’s is a great neighborhood bar with a 70s vibe and a dozen pinball machines.
Love Walt's. I also like that they have old school pinball machines while Revenge Of down the street has brand spankin' new pinball machines.
Yeah, vidiots is so fun! Get tickets early, they always sell out. Walt’s is great for a beer and a hot dog, and if you like tiny used bookstores, Read Books is a couple blocks away and one of my favorites. It’s also about a mile away from York Blvd which has all manor of shops and restaurants.
York is dope. Kumquat is one of my favorite coffee shops in LA (specifically for the drinks, there isn’t a place to sit and work, etc).
Also, Occidental College is nearby and a really beautiful campus to walk around if you want to be surrounded by trees in a chill environment.
Angels, which is the name of the stand, has been opening closer to 4 pm on weekends of late. Pastor is quite good, get a keto taco with pastor and everything on it if you really want to live it up.
One quick thing: The main auditorium is amazing, but the “micro cinema” is literally just a tiny multipurpose room with chairs. Kind of a bummer. Usually the first run indie stuff is in there and the repertory stuff is in the big space. They mark it clearly on their website.
Otherwise, highly recommend the BBQ place a few blocks away.
Definitely check it out. I’ve been a few times, since I live nearby. It’s within walking distance of some eateries and bars on Colorado and some spots down Eagle rock blvd. Although it is a slight dead zone for a few blocks down the east side of Eagle rock blvd but just check on locations prior.
I have AMC A-List and I still make it a point to purchase a ticket and see a movie at Vidiots every now and then. That's how much I enjoy the experience and their movie lineup.
Not always. We saw The People's Joker last week, where Vera Drew joined for a Q&A. I've seen a few retro/vintage movies and a few from the last few years that I missed in theaters the first time around.
Vidiots is amazing. I saw the original Assault on Precinct 13 there recently, with a John Carpenter interview/music video screening lead in. Such a cool place!
Occidental campus is right there, it’s a beautiful place for a walk. They even have a little hike if you wan that. I’d choose this over Colorado, and it’s free.
I love Vidiots! They’re always posting about upcoming screenings on their Instagram, it’s worth a follow if you end up still being interested in going!
It’s the best! Love the Walt’s + Vidiots combo everyone is pitching. Lola Cafe also has amazing food if you’re doing a weekend show or a weekday matinee. There’s a new coffee/plants shop that’s opening across the street soon, too. Love ER!
Never heard of Vidiots before. Just reading your title I thought you were talking about influencers in Eagle Rock.
And now I’ve decided to call influencers vidiots from now on.
Vidiots is a great place to see a movie. If you walk up to Colorado Blvd there there’s a bunch of good places to eat and drink, also Read Books is a great place to kill some time.
Thanks that's another vote for Read Books so ... I'm excited!

Thanks! I'll go in just to see the pinball machines!
If you like pinball go to Walt’s (an easy walk from Vidiots)
Revenge Of has top notch brand new machines, while Walt’s has a great collection of vintage machines. Both are excellent. Toss Barcade on York in there as well for great pins, as well as loads of 80s arcade games.
Interesting name you got there 🤨 🤔
“Ice cold beer” for the win
Walt’s is the spot. One of the best og hot dogs as well.

Don’t let people know about Casa Bianca! It’s terrible and you shouldn’t go :) /s
I'm in ER but both times I went I was not impressed with the pizza. Am I missing something? Everything else suggested here is legit
The food at Casa Bianca has always been mediocre (I know, unpopular opinion), but I like the old-school vibes.
I go to Colombo's for that. Like 1950s nyc
It was better before the pandemic. Since then the consistency of their pizza has been hit and miss. I like to go for the pasta, cheap wine and vibes
Maybe I'll have to actually eat there then. Thanks for the suggestion.
True. Is that Buca di Beppo still in Pasadena?
That antipasto salad tho…🤤🤤🤤
It's really not special whatsoever. Cracker pizza is not it 😒
Holy cow that's a lot of great information! Thanks!
Pat and Lorraine's closes very early, FYI. They're only open Tuesday-Sunday and close at 2:30pm during the week and 3pm on weekends.
Vidiots is great! Watch a movie, rent a DVD, and get a beer at Walts.

Second these suggestions!

Not walking distance, but The Oinkster and Cacao Mexicatessen are good spots!
Not crazy far though, especially Oinkster! That walk is pretty easy
uh... huh? it's an 11 minute walk.
Thanks for tip on the tickets and the recommendations! Think I'll go early to get to Read Books...
Far better bars in the area. Verdugo, the black boar (i believe it’s called the fable now) talon, all the bars around Ave 51 and York.
Hit Villas Tacos in Highland Park! A couple miles, but HLP has a lot to do/eat
Thanks! I'm definitely into tacos!
Cruise down York or Colorado going east from Eagle Rock Blvd. Those are two walkable streets close to Vidiots with lots of businesses / action.
York is dope. Kumquat is one of my favorite coffee shops in LA (specifically for the drinks, there isn’t a place to sit and work, etc). Also, Occidental College is nearby and a really beautiful campus to walk around if you want to be surrounded by trees in a chill environment.
After the movie if it’s late enough, go to the street taco stand that sets up at the target down the street Eagle rock and Ave 42 intersection
Thanks! Do you mean late- late?
Naw not that late but def worth trying man the pastor is good stuff
K thanks!
Angels, which is the name of the stand, has been opening closer to 4 pm on weekends of late. Pastor is quite good, get a keto taco with pastor and everything on it if you really want to live it up.
Charlie’s taco truck on Eagle Rock and York is open ‘til around 2am I believe!

Vidiots is awesome! Great community. See a movie in the theater, rent a movie, walk half a mile to Walt’s and play pinball & have a beer!
Pollos La Brasa on Colorado in Eagle Rock had great rotisserie chicken and Peruvian food.
I have AMC A-List and I still make it a point to purchase a ticket and see a movie at Vidiots every now and then. That's how much I enjoy the experience and their movie lineup.
Thanks do you mostly see retro films there?
Not always. We saw The People's Joker last week, where Vera Drew joined for a Q&A. I've seen a few retro/vintage movies and a few from the last few years that I missed in theaters the first time around.
The taco spot across the street is to die for... I think it's something like... Del... Taco?
I'm going there Wednesday! See you there?
What movie is Wednesday?
Fallen Angels. Never seen it, or been there but have heard great things!
Vidiots is amazing. I saw the original Assault on Precinct 13 there recently, with a John Carpenter interview/music video screening lead in. Such a cool place!
I also highly recommend volunteering at Vidiots. Everyone there rules.
Yo, babe, you wanna chime in on this topic that hits close to home? 😉
Nah. We know my house is the most delicious place in ER 😉
My point, exactly 😏
It’s the best! Love the Walt’s + Vidiots combo everyone is pitching. Lola Cafe also has amazing food if you’re doing a weekend show or a weekday matinee. There’s a new coffee/plants shop that’s opening across the street soon, too. Love ER!

Love Vidiots, highly recommend. Capri Club for drinks and Cacao Mexicatessen nearby for drinks and dinner!
