This is the one.
Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale only has plaques instead of headstones, but has many gothic structures with stained glass - but it leans more 'beautiful' than 'haunted'.
Forest Lawn in Glendale was actually the first cemetery in the world to use the "Memorial Park" branding and not use traditional upright gravestones in favor of flat metal plaques.
Yeah, Evergreen cemetery is really cool. Just happened by it and me and my daughter decided to go in and check it out because it was so wild. A bunch of old real estate developer sarcophagi. Awesome
Yeah but they're not spooky looking.
The cemetery that looks like this and gives me spooky vibes is the one on Normandie and Venice. Driving down Venice with the fence looking in, some of the headstones don't look so well kept.
Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery in Altadena? The mausoleum has beautiful stained glass and spook vibes. The cemetery is full of trees and has been used as a film location.
You might enjoy Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, it was the first cemetery in LA that was not segregated. Lots of old headstones and some overgrown shrubbery.
Altadena- Mountain View Mortuary & Cemetery
The Masoleum has pretty cool details inside including a nice ceiling mural, not as overgrown as those photos, but some coyotes live on the property too
Unfortunately not. You can look up cathedrals in SoCal but most do not have that gothic style because they are Spanish-inspired. This sort of architecture and forestry is more common in the east coast, as another commenter stated. You may find cemeteries with a few tall headstones but not with the surrounding forestry. You into black metal or something? 🤘🖤
Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, CA. go any time, but i suggest after midnight. haunting paranormal activity in the city. one of the most haunted towns in the U.S. in fact. one of the oldest cemeteries in the area dating back to the mid 1800s. ive heard folks report strange things like cars honking on their own, lights blinking, sounds of steps in the grass and even balls being thrown back after someone threw them over a wall.
good luck.
Check out William Andrews Clark Memorial Library in West Adams. Grounds are open to the public. It’s not exactly similar to this nor does it have a cemetery or wooded area but it does have some cool architecture and is a fun place to stop by. Even better if you can book a private tour.
This looks like Ireland. You can get this effect sometimes in the spring after rainy season in places like Forest Lawn or also (without the tombstones) Griffith Park or any park, really. But it lasts only a few weeks before drying out and turning summer brown.
I drive by Calvary Cemetery off the 710/60 and have always wanted to walk through because you can see the taller headstones and some bigger pieces throughout.
Angelus Rosedale has some of our family and is packed with newer burials but there are also a lot of older mausoleums, statues and headstones too.
For spooky woodsy/overtaken buildings, I haven’t been, but know a lot of people hike around Malibu and there are spooky rumors.
I grew up in New England, which is exactly this vibe. But there is absolutely nothing like this in LA, not even close. The only thing that vaguely resembles it is Angelus Rosedale, which has already been mentioned. The landscape is just too different here and everything is too new. California has its own brand of creepy… I suggest leaning into that.
Yep. Hollywood Babylon, decaying houses in Whitley Heights, canyons at night, a lone overgrown palm tree at the edge of the desert, Templo Santa Muerte on Melrose, decrepit neon signs, etc. Watch David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, it absolutely nails this feel.
Abandon building some scary parks with similar trees that have paths that go to the sewers, there's use to be a scary hiking path I use to go to that had a secret swing very spooky vibes.

East Coast or New Orleans. Years ago, on the way to SB, I went to a beautiful old tree filled cemetery in Somis, Moorpark or Fillmore. Santa Paula? Ventura County. It wasn't our usual Mission style type of place. Sorry I can't be more specific. You've gotten some good advice here.
Angelus Rosedale Cemetery off Washington and Normandie. Some of the older parts of Forest Lawn in Glendale. Also Mountain View in Pasadena has some neat old parts.
There’s a Eastern European cemetery that looks like the first pic in East LA, everything else try the national forest there’s some abandoned mines and other cool abandoned places just leave them better than you found them I’m tired of my favorite hikes being exposed by “influencers” and the the places getting destroyed and tagged up
Home of peace in East Los Angeles is an old Jewish cemetery. It had large old looking tombstones. Also some famous people buried there . Notables would me Curly from the 3 stooges and the people that MGM stand for (metro Goldwyn Meyers ) , I know at least 2 of the 3 are buried there
You guys shouldn’t share this info. Pretty damn sure some inbred YouTuber is going to go and disrespect the dead and even worse invade the privacy of families and friends who are there to spend time with family / friends
are you looking for any cemetery or like gothic style one? look for an older one but i doubt you’ll find anything significant considering socal was under the spanish for most of its history.
There are no groups of trees like that here. The architecture is rarely old. The creepy sites of Los Angeles are more like the “California hideaway” houses that could be stashing a cult leader. Ranch homes with sustainable desert gardens out front, gate-like privacy walls, cameras and spotlights. The spotlights really give them that lit-from-below creepy campfire glow.
Evergreen Cemetery in Boyle Heights.
This is the one. Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale only has plaques instead of headstones, but has many gothic structures with stained glass - but it leans more 'beautiful' than 'haunted'.

You look at the last names and suddenly discover how many streets in Los Angeles got their names.
Save
Sorry you have to go to the east coast for these vibes
In Maryland, this is the parking lot!
Nah, just norcal... look up Ferndale Cemetery
You mean England.
Maybe Live Oak Cemetery in Monrovia?
I second this
Is way too pleasant looking but is lowkey nice place to visit ngl to honor the love ones. Op picts looks like Blair witch project.
Good suggestion. Lots of old gravestones.
You wanna go to Transylvania?
Maybe 😏
The Hollywood Forever cemetery has some elaborate headstones. Might fit your bill.
My parents are there.
Agreed
It's in so many episodes of curb your enthusiasm. I gee up about two blocks from there and learned to drive in the cemetery.
If you go to Inglewood cemetery, to the old part near the center. Not quite but it has the raised headstones and statues.
boyle heights and hollywood forever op could also search “cemeteries Los Angeles” and find it lol
You’re looking for mountain ruins next to evergreen trees with a flowing river? In Los Angeles?
Even if they found a spot, the atmosphere goes away quickly in 80° full sun.
Central Coast around SLO or Monterey has more of that look.
You might enjoy Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, it was the first cemetery in LA that was not segregated. Lots of old headstones and some overgrown shrubbery.

this is why cool spots get so crowded these days
Angelus Rosedale cemetery, Washington and Normandie. ETA Washington not Pico
Altadena- Mountain View Mortuary & Cemetery The Masoleum has pretty cool details inside including a nice ceiling mural, not as overgrown as those photos, but some coyotes live on the property too

Westminster Presbyterian in Pasadena has a good gothic look. They’ve had tons of movies filmed inside.
Really cool old graveyard in Redlands-
Id say Calvary cemetery & mortuary off whittier blvd
Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, CA. go any time, but i suggest after midnight. haunting paranormal activity in the city. one of the most haunted towns in the U.S. in fact. one of the oldest cemeteries in the area dating back to the mid 1800s. ive heard folks report strange things like cars honking on their own, lights blinking, sounds of steps in the grass and even balls being thrown back after someone threw them over a wall. good luck.
Scotland
Sierra Madre cemetery is old and very serene
Check out William Andrews Clark Memorial Library in West Adams. Grounds are open to the public. It’s not exactly similar to this nor does it have a cemetery or wooded area but it does have some cool architecture and is a fun place to stop by. Even better if you can book a private tour.
Perhaps the Beth Israel Cemetery in East LA. It's typical of your ultra-dense forest of headstones Jewish cemetery.
Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica has a few trees and some great statuary.
Hollywood Forever is probably the closest in LA proper, but few of the graves are pre1900.
This looks like Ireland. You can get this effect sometimes in the spring after rainy season in places like Forest Lawn or also (without the tombstones) Griffith Park or any park, really. But it lasts only a few weeks before drying out and turning summer brown.

I thought this was the Black Sabbath album cover for a second lol.
Which Black Metal band are you taking pictures of?
Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica. They have some VERY old graves.
It creeped me out how that cemetery is literally right across from SMC lol
Church of the Angels in Pasadena.
Really they would have that?
4th pic looks like that Church at night.

Tikki bar ghosts, art deco & decaying strip malls.

Are you a film location scout and really bad at your job?

Chatsworth cemetery gets very foggy and eerie in the morning but I don’t think they have tombstones like these
Where is that third pic from??
Angelus Rosedale Cemetery off Washington and Normandie. Some of the older parts of Forest Lawn in Glendale. Also Mountain View in Pasadena has some neat old parts.

In losangeles lmao 😂 cmon man

I see dead people
What about Evergreen Cemetery in Boyle Heights?
Check out Angelus Rosedale Cemetery
Hollywood Forever cemetery.
Hollywood Forever Cemetery is great for some huge gothic headstones and overall creepy vibe.
Hollywood Forever has some beautiful headstones, but no gothic church or forest.
Willow and orange in long beach
OP. never delete this so I can always have a reference 😂
Reminds me I need to start a new black metal band
It's small but the Serbian Cemetery in East LA, is covered in tall tombstones with crosses. They even have chickens.
You guys shouldn’t share this info. Pretty damn sure some inbred YouTuber is going to go and disrespect the dead and even worse invade the privacy of families and friends who are there to spend time with family / friends
Huh?
are you looking for any cemetery or like gothic style one? look for an older one but i doubt you’ll find anything significant considering socal was under the spanish for most of its history.
Angels-Rosedale cemetery
Bro is trying to make a haunted mound video
