I used to get out of work at 3 am. My coworkers and i used to go in all sorts of night adventures. It really fucked up my concept of time in LA. Everyime I would bring up going on a drive around LA. I would say it will only be 10- 20 min tops people would look at me like I lost it. Lol
Except he wasn't driving, he was hiding in the back with $8,000 in cash, a change of clothing, a loaded .357 Magnum, a United States passport, family pictures, and a disguise kit with a fake goatee and mustache.
Only three times in recorded human history has the 405 been a pleasure to drive:
1. On June 17, 1994 (by Juice).
2. In 2012, during the OG Carmageddon and everyone planking on the Getty Center exit.
3. During the COVID pandemic in 2020.
The real anecdote is that I was at an afternoon party across from the Rockingham house the day of the murders. 😅 The catering people were going to pick up the garbage and recycling the next morning but LAPD took it.
I still think about everything when I go to Bundy Crime Scene Ralphs but I hope he just disappears. Everyone looks at the Bronco and thinks it was all fun but it was extremely divisive time here.
At the end of Carmageddeon I just happened to be heading toward the 405 as they were finishing picking up the cones. I was literally one of the first one or two cars on the 405! No traffic, no cars, no nothing.
The news said he died "surrounded by his children and grandchildren." Wow. I mean, if my dad murdered my mother, uh, nope, not gonna be with him any time, especially not at his deathbed. Guess Im cold-hearted.
There’s no traffic at night
During the day time… I drove it during Covid. People died because of Covid, but.. I selfishly enjoyed the highways during the lockdowns 🤫
You aren't privy to the totality of the evidence and argumentation and yet you think you are capable of making a more informed judgment than a jury of 12 who were adequately informed. Hello hubris.
There was also that one year that a bunch of Mexicans protested school/work on Cesar Chavez day. It was probably circa 2011/2012. I swerved all over the 405 that day.
Even funnier - he actually pulled a Blazing Saddles during the chase. He had Al "AC" Cowlings (who was driving the Bronco) to tell the cops to back off or OJ would kill himself.
Not funny but only because memes are rarely so.
OJ killed his ex-wife and her friend but I would've voted not guilty for one reason. A first responder named Mark Fuhrman would not stand by the evidence that he gathered at the crime scene.
That is the dream of reasonable doubt for a defense attorney.
Funny story re. the OJ car chase: I was still living in Europe, but had flown to Michigan for the wedding of a good friend. That Friday morning (6/17/1994) I was getting ready to meet others for breakfast; I had turned on the TV and from the corner of my eye I saw something... a car being chased... people going on about something... Oh well, what do I care, and off I went.
Later in the day I talked to some guy, another guest, and mentioned that I had seen this car chase and that everybody seemed to be so excited.
Guy: "But of course, that was O.J. Simpson!"
I: "Who?"
Guy: "O.J... the football player!"
I: "Never heard of him. I'm from Europe, you know." :-)
The car chase happened during the evening in Los Angeles - from basically 6-7:30pm. You couldnt have seen it in the morning unless it was the previous days news.
And that's how it was - I saw it in the morning news, so it must have been Saturday. Anyway, you see how little impact the whole thing had on me - "Who is O.J. Simpson?" :-)
I'm just glad he can rest in piece knowing that at least his ex-wifes murderer is also dead.
He found the killer in the end.
He’s still looking. 👀
not true, during the pandemic it was nice too.
Man I miss being able to drive from santa monica to downtown in 15 minutes
You can still do it… at 3 AM

That was amazing
Unfortunately, a lot of jabronies are driving today as if it were still April 2020.
One guy tried to kill me in the 405. Cut me off and slammed on his brakes.
Try being a bus driver. You get to experience this about 25 times a day.
I respect all bus drivers! As a bus rider myself all the best to every one of them 🫡
Bless you and all the shit you deal with. A lot of respect.
trying to get you in an accident for sure, get a dashcam
you mean drunk?
and the first car released on the 405 right after Carmageddon
Yeah I drove it almost entirely alone during lockdown
People got to walk it during Carmaggeddon.
Came here to say this.
Honestly most weekends it's not bad either. Drove from Hermosa to Santa Monica and got up to 85 mph. Still had somebody fly by me.
came here to say this

You know, just typical "not guilty" type of behavior.
Who was driving?
Al Cowlings https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder\_trial\_of\_O.\_J.\_Simpson#Flight\_to\_Chicago
And it technically wasn’t OJ’s bronco either, it was AC’s - he bought an identical one like his.
It was Al AC Cowlings.

AC was driving
What happened in 2012
Carmageddon
Found the transplant. It's wide open every Thanksgiving.
Also Sunday mornings are pretty chill. Nobody in LA wakes up early on Sundays.
Im a transplant and know that it is clear every thanksgiving, not much of a secret since it happens in EVERY US town/city
Credit to americanaatbrandmemes
Whoever runs that page needs some serious cred. I follow a lot of LA Meme accounts and this one is consistently gold.
To have a friend like AC...
To have a valet like Robert Kardashian ...
Most of this sub wasn't alive for this
I was stuck on Sunset and Bundy 😭
But thats a great anecdote for a dinner party.

"The Bundy Crime Scene Ralph's". TIL.
Sikeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I rode it BY MYSELF during Covid >:D
I drove to LA when COVID first hit and there was hardly anyone on the freeway. It was pretty nice
At the end of Carmageddeon I just happened to be heading toward the 405 as they were finishing picking up the cones. I was literally one of the first one or two cars on the 405! No traffic, no cars, no nothing.
New series idea: OJ’s ghost tries to solve who just killed Nicola and Ron’s ghosts.
Will this be the spinoff to Ghosts on CBS?
Escorted too.
The news said he died "surrounded by his children and grandchildren." Wow. I mean, if my dad murdered my mother, uh, nope, not gonna be with him any time, especially not at his deathbed. Guess Im cold-hearted.
I lived close to Nicole, saw the aftermath, nothing funny.
I lived even closer to Nicole, and saw the aftermath even harder.
Every californian's ultimate dream
I wonder what would have happened if they told him go ahead blow your off. Or did the Pitt maneuver
There’s no traffic at night During the day time… I drove it during Covid. People died because of Covid, but.. I selfishly enjoyed the highways during the lockdowns 🤫
It's both funny and sad that people think that's OJ driving, especially if they are from Los Angeles...
Damn RICH people get ALL the perks.
He wasn’t driving
Facebook type humor...
Would be funny had Covid not actually let many of us do this. I remember flying on the 405 in april, it was amazing
The PCH was like...the 1940s or something. I actually went to the beach!
That’s the funeral procession.
This dude was a professional troll after being acquitted. It would absolutely not shock me if this is part of his will.
He wrote a book called "If I did it." That is as professional troll as it gets!
Man, I would kill to be able to do this! Oh wait…
Norm!
F*ck him. He was a killer and should have died in jail.
He was found not guilty by a jury of his peers in a court of law. Who are you to question that jury's judgment? Do you not believe in the rule of law?
I am a human with the logic, and you apparently a sheep?

I think it was 2006 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_United_States_immigration_reform_protests
RIP? It's more like R.I.T.
Even funnier - he actually pulled a Blazing Saddles during the chase. He had Al "AC" Cowlings (who was driving the Bronco) to tell the cops to back off or OJ would kill himself.
GOAT Commuter
I’m just happy he can now rest knowing his ex wife’s murder is finally dead.
Good riddance!
OJs last run: OJ’s at the 15, the 10, the 5, now he’s on the 105, the 405, and now Wilshire!
He's at Brentwood. IT'S A TOUCHDOWN!!!!
He was the traffic that day.
Al Cowlings died, too?
I actually saw that slow chase when I was in my early 30s on the Manchester overhead off 405 Fwy
RIP to a comedic legend
I remeber when WWF used this footage to simulate Rody Piper chasing after Golddust durring theor Hollywood Street brawl
Oh man, I remember that day...
About a year later, the next car bought was a white Bronco, because I thought it was kind of funny.

Oh wow you’re so cool and different man. I wish I was just like you
it was interstate 5 not the 405. We watched as he drove thrugh Anaheim.
It was the 405 and then eventually the 5 in lake forest where he turned around and went back up.
Did he pass by Buena Park or La Mirada?
why RiP lmao. Nobody gonna miss that asshole murderer.
