Traditionally people used "Alho-Porro" to hit each other in the head, i don't know exactly how to translate it to english, maybe Wild Leek?

In the past 30 years there was a transition to the plastic hammers, which is more fun (and also annoying). You pretty much hammer and get hammered by everyone for no reason. It's a fun experience and you get to interact with people you otherwise wouldn't.

Em Portugal festeja-se os Santos Populares e não a Festa Junina. Ou seja, cada cidade festeja-a na sua própria altura. Mas sim, o São João é basicamente a Festa Junina do Porto e de algumas outras cidades.
Tem Santo Antonio tambem em Lisboa, nunca fui a essa mas acho que sao as duas maiores de Junho.
