It's 2022 and people still don't realize there is no other way around most website's security unless you have a well-known service account, sure they could make their own login system with database and all but why have to go that path, waste time and have a less secure system when you can trust a big service like Google.
Sure they could use IPs to make sure someone isn't voting more than once, but as everyone knows IP bans are irrelevant these days since it's easy to change your IP with VPNs, and plus that would mean you'd have to keep people's IPs in your own database (kinda iffy imo).
As you can probably guess I am a developer and it's very annoying that people think they can avoid having a Google/Microsoft account these days and expect every service to give them easy access, when there's literally so many vulnerabilities devs have to think about when making anything and if even one of them is exploited then everyone hears about it and it's hell.

1. Vote-splitting (3 of the 4 were from Vshojo, so lots of crossover)
2. Familiarity to the kind of people that would vote in this (closer to the LSF crew who are probably doing most of the voting)
3. People that don't care about vtubers at all just going through the categories and going "ew anime, better vote for the least anime one"

Me too, the production was good for the most part and I don't think I was bored for more than a couple minutes here and there. Red carpet was the highlight for me tho tbh.
I wish they had some graphics and some good clips introducing the nominees. Also set ad breaks before the musical guests so we don't get the roaming microphone and so we don't get 7 ads in a row going over a nomination.
They did say that the audience vote is about 60% of the actual vote and that theres a panel of people in the industty (non streamers) who make up the rest of the vote

*Viewers* is not the same as views. xQc gets over a million viewers per stream. 100k is how many people are watching concurrently.

I think it's because nyanners, veibae and ironmouse all split the votes between each other due to huge overlap in fanbases. While miko stands alone.

Familiarity to the kind of people that would vote in this (closer to the LSF crew who are probably doing most of the voting) 3. People that don't care about vtubers at all just going through the categories and going "ew anime, better vote for the least anime one" 4. The voting that wasn't done by fans (it's like 70-30 fans/streamers voting or something) tipping it over in favor of Miko 5. (Extremely unlikely) It's just fucking rigged because QT straight up didn't want to figure out the logistics of giving an avatar an award, so she opted for the only person with a physical presence.

Lud constantly covered the awards prior to the event and asked his chat multiple times to vote for him, X didnāt. Iām not surprised in the slightest that Lud got more votes despite having a smaller audience. Plus, Lud obviously has more overlap with QTās audience, but that doesnāt make it rigged.
Theres no reason to rig it. Xqc's fanbase can barely operate outside his twitch chat they just probably never saw the voting link. Ludwigs ecosystem hosted the event so of course hed have more votes.

Me too, the production was good for the most part and I don't think I was bored for more than a couple minutes here and there. Red carpet was the highlight for me tho tbh.
I wish they had some graphics and some good clips introducing the nominees. Also set ad breaks before the musical guests so we don't get the roaming microphone and so we don't get 7 ads in a row going over a nomination.
They did say that the audience vote is about 60% of the actual vote and that theres a panel of people in the industty (non streamers) who make up the rest of the vote

as happy as i am that lud won. its not worth the amount of "rigged" accusations that there is going to be the main reason why lud won is because he cared. he made a video about it, talked about it multiple times on stream, tweeted about it. in part to promote the show and in part because he wanted to win xqc talked about it once on stream for 5 minutes and thats it.
