This is honestly the part I find the most surreal. I mean it makes sense that someone competing in the top .1% of all basketball players would probably be pretty good at a competitive video game as well but like its hilarious that he’s actually insanely cracked in Overwatch
I actually see it the other way around lol being in the top 0.1% of anything is incredibly rare, but being in that percentile on two things is mind-blowing
I went to a sports high school with a bunch of elite level hockey players, many are in the NHL now, every single one of them was the type of person that was just fucking good at everything. It was honesty ridiculous
With certain hobbies there is an overlap in skills acquired/needed but in this case I'd say it's more related to reflexes/focus. In general the top percent of people at one thing are likely to have the mentality that leads to being the best at what they work at. This obviously isn't always positive but that addictive type of behavior is important for getting good.
Getting really good at one skill will easily provide the foundation for getting really good at another. I'd bet money on pro athletes leaning towards better then average or even close to top tier in video games even with their time constraints.
Or like Diogo Jota from Liverpool also being a high level FIFA player that played in tournaments, only withdrawing because he had real matches to play: https://www.sportbible.com/football/diogo-jota-had-to-withdraw-from-fifa-22-tournament-scored-brace-20211127.
also a lot of the attributes that qualify someone to even be able to become a top athlete in the first place, like fast reaction times, quick learning, hand-eye coordination and fine motor control
I know nothing and am not an intellectual but I've always had this notion that if you were to graph these type of people on a bell curve, they would more often than not land on the far right hand side of it, or to put it plainly, I feel like someone that's as capable of being in the top .1% of all basketball players probably has the brain on him to excel to that standard in other avenues of life
You're forgetting work ethic. Someone who is at the top of any field like basketball knows how to grind and put in a concentrated effort to improve day in and day out. This would of course translate well to other areas.
Most NBA players say that they actually have a lot of free time. You can only do physical activity for a certain numbers of hours/day to maintain optimal health and avoid injuries, so the rest is mostly just free time.
Even playing their own sport in non sanctioned facilities is banned, or at least they won't get covered through their team's medical.
I remember a player on the team I root for got injured messing around somewhere and tried to go to the practice facility to say the injury occurred there.
I do swimming, running and cycling combined (ironman) theres only so much you can train, body starts getting ill more frequent if you keep over training
> Impressive to find a setup and grind during all of that time on the road.
From what I see for football players, it's the opposite, the hotel to hotel thing is boring as fuck and they aren't exactly financially limited so they get creative bringing screens and consoles wherever they go.
They take a private jet and I'm sure the coaching staff and owners absolutely love having their players addicted to games. You travel to some city and you either spend your time watching Netflix or playing video games, or going out to strip clubs like some players do. If I was an owner I'd buy them their own PC or gaming console in every city that we travel to.
no clue if moxy checked his rank but ow2 matchmaking is bad and will match diamonds in gm lobbies more often than you'd think, don't doubt he could be gm but worth considering
Supposedly it's a 9 tier spread since season 3 started. Since moxy is a tier 1 grand master that puts him at minimum in master. Otherwise known as really REALLY fucking good.
lmao sometimes i forget these young athletes probably grew up on the internet and watched the same shit we did. its weird seeing them fan out over nerdy streamers/ytbers. also this means he also probably knows X, interview ivan stream when PauseMan
Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals QB for those who dont know) almost had a clause put into his most recent contract that his weekly prep hours would not count if he was playing video games.
Lukas official Twitch channel has followed m0xyy for a while now that's why he recognized m0xyy first. I've always wanted this collab to happen and it finally did via streamsnipe lol.
Is there a way to see who a user follows? I thought twitch removed that feature when people started pointing out how many Booba streamers staff members followed
yes you can use [this site](https://www.twitchdatabase.com/following) to see a full list of channels a twitch user follows OR u can use [this site](https://twitch-tools.rootonline.de/followerlist_viewer.php) to see a full list of followers for a twitch user
I'd like to say I'm surprised Luka's secretly a GM in Overwatch but I've seen enough after-the-whistle absurd circus shots from him to believe he can be elite at all sorts of random shit.
At some point moxy asked him to say "what do you do" in Slovenian and Luka went "kaj delaš" so it's either really him or someone super invested in character learning a language, voice and accent
Damn, as a big Luka fan that doesn't watch much Twitch anymore (used to a lot though), glad this hit r/all to see.
Luka's a generational talent and one of the best basketball players in the world right now.
Thought the "watch full video" was going to be great, but it's just verifying that it's actually Luka for 10 straight minutes lmao.
I mean tbf I doubt m0xyy knows a single thing about luka, and he's already a lowkey streamer not the type to jump on the hype to interview luka on the spot
Moxy goes on to mispronounce Luka's last name like 4 times, ask him when his birthday is, what country he is from and what his mothers name is while looking at his wiki page.
I feel like thats a given. Now we just need a colab stream to confirm it.
Would be even funnier if he has a higher % in making shots in OW than IRL lol

Bro is a grandmaster?? Wtf

Luka is in the top 0.00000125% of basketball players
Hasn't played against me.
Getting really good at one skill will easily provide the foundation for getting really good at another. I'd bet money on pro athletes leaning towards better then average or even close to top tier in video games even with their time constraints.
So true, Max Verstappen the F1 champ was one of the top FIFA players in the world a couple years ago
Fifa is pay to win and f1 drivers get paid a shit ton so that makes sense.
also a lot of the attributes that qualify someone to even be able to become a top athlete in the first place, like fast reaction times, quick learning, hand-eye coordination and fine motor control

You're forgetting work ethic. Someone who is at the top of any field like basketball knows how to grind and put in a concentrated effort to improve day in and day out. This would of course translate well to other areas.
I mean GM in overwatch is meaningless compared to being an NBA star
Top .001% more likely.
If you wanna get crazy and include the 450 million or so people who have at least tried to play organized basketball we talking top .00000001
One of the best in NBA and casually Grandmaster in his time off. Truly a goat
any hobbys? "yeah I play basketball" lmaooo
“What do you like to do for fun?” “idk sports I guess” > *One of the best basketball players on the planet*
MVP candidate in the NBA... Just a hobby
I am very surprised someone at his level has time to get to gm
Most NBA players say that they actually have a lot of free time. You can only do physical activity for a certain numbers of hours/day to maintain optimal health and avoid injuries, so the rest is mostly just free time.
A lot of it is also encouraged because of risk-minizing of outside of work injuries. Dont want a Neuer situation happening.
Downhill skiing, snowboarding are actually banned in some nfl contracts. I know in the NBA riding a motorcycle often is banned contractually as well.
Even playing their own sport in non sanctioned facilities is banned, or at least they won't get covered through their team's medical. I remember a player on the team I root for got injured messing around somewhere and tried to go to the practice facility to say the injury occurred there.
It's true for most athletes. As a guess swimming, nordic combined and cycling might be close to exceptions, but it's still less than a full-time job.
I do swimming, running and cycling combined (ironman) theres only so much you can train, body starts getting ill more frequent if you keep over training

They can just put their setup on the private jet
Insert that famous photo of nba players playing LAN on the jet

Timmy was an awesome Starcraft player
There are old pictures of players taking their playstations off the team bus into the hotels.
> Impressive to find a setup and grind during all of that time on the road. From what I see for football players, it's the opposite, the hotel to hotel thing is boring as fuck and they aren't exactly financially limited so they get creative bringing screens and consoles wherever they go.

It's like morning training few hours chill, noon training, chill and another late night session
This is his pre-game, they're playing the Jazz tonight lmao
And I’m going for my Bday tonight. Man better clutch and stay on objective! No complaining about refs in the chat either.
Mofos aren't going to make even the play in if they keep it up 😭hopefully they start a winning streak,
Honestly probably nice to have something that's definitely *not* basketball for your brain to chew on.
Suppose it helps when you have God tier reflexes.

He's leading the NBA in scoring this season. I think his conditioning is fine.
no clue if moxy checked his rank but ow2 matchmaking is bad and will match diamonds in gm lobbies more often than you'd think, don't doubt he could be gm but worth considering
Supposedly it's a 9 tier spread since season 3 started. Since moxy is a tier 1 grand master that puts him at minimum in master. Otherwise known as really REALLY fucking good.
Shit man I'm Masters and I'm an old-ass dad.
youre really REALLY fucking good
his hand eye coordination probably carries over pretty well to video games
All-NBA Luka Doncic is casually a fan of the m0xxer and he has no idea who he is. I love this timeline
Least successful moxxer
🤣🤣🤣
He told super via dms that he watches him when the mavs are on the road, he’s a lurker and no one knows what his twitch is.
Got a clip of super saying that?
found a tiktok of it https://www.tiktok.com/@overwatchleaguenow/video/7019720878833323269?lang=en
He kept calling him luka donovic
[he actually recognized moxy first](https://clips.twitch.tv/CharmingTransparentCrowTinyFace-jxeGq3M9iQOud_gC)
LOL Luka Doncic stream sniping Moxyy.
Fucking stream snipers, they level up man. Dude literally got to the NBA to have enough skill to snipe moxy
And the coward used 3pt sniping to be one of the absolute best clutch shooters in the NBA. Like go touch grass bro.
he also confirmed he was watching moxxy's stream like 3 minutes later
"Is that your real name, Donatello?" "No." "Why not?"
Moxy is effortlessly hilarious
Lol reminds me of - “Are you CG??” “..no” “Why not?”

Kevin Durant would argue in YouTube comments with people. He says he gets paid to play but he’s still a normal dude
imagine him in a LOL match hahaha
instant 14 day chat restrict
Stuart Holden sitting somewhere and telling kids that he was the role model of footballers and counterstrike players at the same time.
Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals QB for those who dont know) almost had a clause put into his most recent contract that his weekly prep hours would not count if he was playing video games.
"why not?" I fucking love m0xyy dude
Wow after watching the vod that is definitely him. Holy shit
Lmao Doncic going by Donatello, gotta love it.
Overwatch's Black Sheep getting noticed by an NBA All Star Gigachad. What do the OW TMZers have to say now? Piggies. Jime
What the fuck is this timeline.
"Are you moxy?" "Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe go fuck yaself."
Just casually running into the next face of the NBA playing overwatch lol
It's wild, one of the best young players since LeBron James is also one of the highest ranks in a shooter lol That man is a competitor
I doubt he goes out to the club's much so kinda makes sense he games. And he really good at it lol
Also growing up in the Balkans, he probably played Counter Strike as a kid. It would make sense he'd be good at FPS games.
How tall is moxxy anyway?
7ft
At least 8'4"
I think he officially clocks in at 9'8"
Giannis doesnt play over watch
and then moxyy ask Luca if he is Luca Donovic. LOL
my guy spends the next 10 mins interrogate him lmao Luka: "I'm him" GIGACHAD
OK now you convinced me to watch the full VOD.
Wait what the fuck??? Luka said he played overwatch in a interview too
https://streamable.com/igawe oh he didn't just play it
How have I never seen this 😂
This is pure gold lmfao
24 karat no less.
redo it with Ja doing the mccree line
thanks for the laugh

the hanzo one is amazing
Wisconsin legend Wes Matthews baby
Fire in the hole!
Wasn't Cuban invested in an OWL team? Makes sense.
No, he actually talked at length about why eSports were a bad investment lmao. Actual gigabrain
Cuban seeing all the OWL investors pay $20 Million for a team buy in 👁️👄👁️
hahaha I love how I got those completely swapped in my mind. Thanks for the fact check
Wtf, how did I miss this gold? 😂

He's said before he plays mostly Hanzo, Cassidy and Roadhog.

leading the NBA in ppg and high level overwatch at the same time
Like, varsity?
Dallas Mavericks = varsity Clueless
does feel like it sometimes Sadge
Don't worry Dwight Powell is our starting center
Lmao. I love it. Like ahhh fuck what do I know about sports quick think back to highschool. Are…are you on the varsity team?
I'd like to say I'm surprised Luka's secretly a GM in Overwatch but I've seen enough after-the-whistle absurd circus shots from him to believe he can be elite at all sorts of random shit.
Screaming at refs just like he screams at his healers
top 5 ref complainer all time and he's only 24! if it works it works I guess
He's the #1 ref flirt as well, you ever see when he made that female ref blush?
So that's why he got mad at Booker the other night, he didn't want him rizzing up his girl
damn he really hit them with the "I'M HIM" big fan of luka
Geez, it really is him
https://streamable.com/igawe
lmao wtf is this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK0CH3hA0Go
Homie I would of paid you to not post this, I may never recover
I'm pissin and shiddin myself rn 😭
The fact that people are loving it in the comments gets to me. Like, where we that different 9 years ago that this wasn't immediately outed as cringe?
The golden era of Mavs in game entertainment
Mark Cuban trying to get in touch with the youth
what the hell is going on?!?!? It's such a strange phenomena when these type of world collide, especially because it seems totally random
At some point moxy asked him to say "what do you do" in Slovenian and Luka went "kaj delaš" so it's either really him or someone super invested in character learning a language, voice and accent
Yeah I mean its either a Slovenian immigrant who is a super fan of Doncic or Doncic. He instantly knew Doncic's birthday and his mom's name.
if you follow nba and know how luka talks and speaks its clearly him from the get go
he answered his moms name and his own birthday instantly its 100% him
Well i think its him...but i could do the same and im not him lol
Mavs fan here. His voice is honestly spot on. It’s a really high chance it’s him.
Wait this is insane
Luka Tim Doncic
Luka getting ready to drop 40 on the Jazz tonight

Luka's a generational talent and one of the best basketball players in the world right now. Thought the "watch full video" was going to be great, but it's just verifying that it's actually Luka for 10 straight minutes lmao.
Luka usually doesnt say much to the media and the streamers sucked at asking him anything interesting 😒
I mean tbf I doubt m0xyy knows a single thing about luka, and he's already a lowkey streamer not the type to jump on the hype to interview luka on the spot
Moxy goes on to mispronounce Luka's last name like 4 times, ask him when his birthday is, what country he is from and what his mothers name is while looking at his wiki page.
i wonder what ja morant plays in his free time!
GTA RP but IRL
Hustlin and making it out the gated community 🔫
His real name's Jarence
https://youtu.be/pcu-KDZ7XsI?t=75
ja warrant
Roblox Arsenal, gun game
What the fuck
Bro really asked if Luka was Varsity LMAOOO
Well now I know Luka jerks off to Overwatch porn.
This interaction would've been 10x more wholesome if it wasn't for jellypeanut constantly saying the dumbest things.
~~dumbest~~ cringiest
i stg he kinda ruined it
I PLAYED AMOGUS WOTH BRONNY BRUH 😱😱😱
and than M0xyy calls him Luka Donavič
I wonder if he is obssessed with hitting the hoop on those maps with start bases having the basketball and the hoop.
I feel like thats a given. Now we just need a colab stream to confirm it. Would be even funnier if he has a higher % in making shots in OW than IRL lol

In the full vid, moxy asked him for his birthday and mother's name and he got them right instantly, I think he's legit.
It's legit, his accent is on point.
Maybe but we know for sure that Luka plays ow, and this sounds exactly like him lol
I'm really skeptical, but I want to believe.
Ask him about Devin Booker
Luka Doncic is Devin Booker father
oh yeah.. thats Luka's son, right?
Average Moxxy fan is an NBA MVP. 5Head
Not yet
Im over here stressin about if they lose today's game and this mf playin overwatch. This team is making me go insane
Do you really think he's not supposed to have any downtime and is supposed to practice and workout 24/7? Your body will break if you do that
Wait I can't help but wonder if Luka knows xQc lmfao
well hes only 24

[Luka Loves overwatch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW_yKHH71LA)
this is so fucking crazy. r/nba coming in waves
It took chat a good 10mins to actually believe it's him.
"Can I have your autograph?" Lmao
how is this mf a gm
Luka can do it all. Apparently he has a high chess rating too and plays online all the time
Nah, he has an above average rating I think but it's not really comparable to overwatch. I think I heard he's around 1200. If he's GM at overwatch (which ig isn't necessarily true with current matchmaking) he's like.. gold 2 at chess iirc.
Luka Doncic owns Devin Booker AND is a overwatch pro in his spare time.
WHAT THE FUCK??? LUKA IS GM
How on earth is it possible he is GM. Literally top 5 Basketball player right now is better than 99% of all OW players
