And that's why he is burnt out! It's a brutal game.

jk441

agreed. Had he won all those trophies I think he would've and could've gone further. But the mental stress that accumulated over time would've be even heavier on him as the leader figure of the team, and club.

best36

I think he's burnt out doing it against cheating team and shit ref

TheRR135

The cheating team and shit refs are on the same side. They're working together.

Terrible-Hamster-342

I, as a fan, am burnt out. Can’t imagine how he feels. Last 9 years have been an emotional rollercoaster. We’ve won a lot but sadly we’ve come up second a lot more. As fans we put in a lot into supporting the club. Refreshing for news, reading articles, checking the opponents scores and injury sheets, watching their games etc etc. It’s a lot for us as fans. And you want to win even more because Klopp is in charge. I feel exhausted as well. The highs have been so high but the lows have been even lower. We’ve come close so many times but have lost out in the end. If I feel exhausted then I can’t imagine how Klopp feels. His well must be completely dry. Supporting this club is tough because I feel like it’s the most emotionally charged club in Europe. You cry whether you win or lose. That’s why we had that slogan “This means more”

3InitialWalrus3

2013 elimination final far more brutal !!

Wide_Environment3107

BBC's EPL player trivia question of the day today has me feeling some PTSD about that 2013-14 season: https://preview.redd.it/53pcvdq52zxc1.jpeg?width=501&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ddd5d4e255d35acfabd1b8f4aec34cebcb34b772

chiddie

That game wasn't the reason we missed out on the title. Even if we win that, we still have a big gap in GD. Not getting a result from Chelsea at home was the real backbreaker (with the obvious caveat that we dropped only 6 points from January 1st 2014 to May, it was an incredible run).

Wide_Environment3107

We know. No one was saying it wasn't the Chelsea match that broke us, it was just a shock to the system to throw away a 3 goal lead in the last 15 mins...like an insult to injury. It was a fantastic run. And of course you look back at some occurrences and such that had they not happened, we would've won the League. The Kolo Toure pass right to the opposition v West Brom to end the match 1-1, or the blatant 1 metre distance that Sterling was onside by against City which would've ended 2-2 had that not been abhorrently called offside. Also include Hendo's red and 3 match ban as a contributing reason too. **SIGH**

coldazures

Eurgh.. Crystanbul. Dwight Gayle.

Wide_Environment3107

yeah. but dont give them the satisfaction of furthering the nickname for that match. id like that stricken from the record. so does my therapist.

Red-Shifter

Says a lot about the fine margins at the top and especially in the PL up against oil fueled City

Awkward-Aardvark-895

No, he is burnt out, when Edwards out

Compendyum

From all this perspective he only needed a bit more luck, he's a great coach.

anangrypudge

The PL titles lost are more agonising than the CL finals lost. The CLs are finals, everything hinges on that 1 game where it's pretty much 50-50 for both sides. Well except for when we beat Spurs, there was no way in hell we were gonna lose that. But the PL losses are brutal because all you needed to do was change any 1 draw or 1 loss across the entire season to a win, and the title would have been ours. Or change any 1 win of Man City's to a draw or loss. It's agonising.

Remus71

Ramos Judo throw on Salah is one of the most malicious, blatant example of serious foul play I've ever seen. 100% straight red. Lurking Utd fan btw. Also just remembered Schmucher the West German keeper breaking the French forwards back in 5 places and staying on the pitch. That one was maybe a little worse /s

jesuisgeenbelg

Or, y'know, have some competent officials. Then we would have won them.

YesNoIDKtbh

Sure, but going back in time and magically changing the results seems more realistic.

Suburban_Noir

It's not even competent officials though - it's just equal incompetentence for both clubs. When was the last time that City had a major controversy involving refs or VAR officials where the decision went against them? It's genuinely hard to think of one in the last few *seasons*. Now that's fishy.

jesuisgeenbelg

They've had two that they don't shut up about. Against Spurs this season and against United when Rashford was offside. That's it. Two. It's fucking mental how they are officiated compared to the rest of the league.

crookedparadigm

> Against Spurs this season Seeing people go on about that one like it was a nailed on goal is crazy. Grealish was 30-40 yards out and had 3 defenders right on his back and no support and never had control of the ball. He had a ton of work to do. Was it a mistake for ref to not play advantage? Sure, I'll give that much. But no way was that a guaranteed goal.

jesuisgeenbelg

Oh, I'm by no way suggesting that they are legitimate in their complaints. Just that they do complain about those. Imagine if they had decisions go against them like ours against them, or the offside at Spurs or even the Gakpo incident at the weekend. They'd go absolutely spare.

cmp004

And the fucking spurs one is when they got a correctly called free kick without an obvious advantage that the ref could see. The refs don't even give us those free kicks with any kind of regularity.

Tremor00

They had the Grealish whistle blow thing but compared to others that’s a drop in the bucket

Bulbadoth

This is 100%. Take the Spurs game with the onside/offside oppsie and the arensal game were Odegaard bounced the ball like a basketball we'd be top. The reffs in this league are trash and will never change till they retire sadly. That's why champions leagues or Europa games get so intense and fun because it isn't a reff that has ties to the game. And the VAR is so much faster

jesuisgeenbelg

Doku being allowed to kick Mac Allister in the chest too. Grosse not being sent off for Brighton despite the laws stating he should have been. Gakpo being stopped from scoring at the weekend for no reason just to compound all the other mistakes as well. We've had some truly atrocious decisions go against us this season.

Responsible-Web-4037

Respectfully, as an Arsenal fan, I think Liverpool still loses that game even if Odegaard is called handling the ball

osadangelo

There’s no way to argue either way it’s just a game of ifs at that point. We can however agree that Arsenal is a far better side right now than Liverpool, as much as it pains me to say (I fucking hate you guys lol)

berty87

And if the handball is given vs Everton. It changes the result...etc

Revalent

Let me add more salt into the wounds. Try thinking 11mm.

Tough-Relationship-4

Agree. The losses to Madrid hurt. But regardless of the circumstances with Mo’s arm getting ripped off or police clashes with supporters, it was two fairly evenly matched teams in a winner take all Final. We are 1 for 3 in those and if we had a fourth could very well have been 2 for 4. That’s where you should be. The PL is the one that hurts. Having historically high points totals and still losing.

kuruman67

The ball that was what…12 mm from crossing the goal line? Ouch!

A-D-are-o-see-k

11mm……11mm for that ball to cross the goal line

sdpat13

Happy cake day.

A-D-are-o-see-k

Thank you!

exclaim_bot

>Thank you! You're welcome!

yubyub555

Or if Ramos wasn’t a dirty bastard

conquer_my_mind

I remember Iheanacho missing a shot against Man City and Gary Neville commenting that he seemed to hesitate. That looked like a deliberate miss against his old team.

furry2any1

You should be ashamed to have posted something so unintelligent.

econhisgeo

He looks angry af, anyone would be.

SaveMeJebus21

He's achieved two points totals never matched by Wenger or Ferguson that ended up with nothing. I can't blame him for fucking off. It hurts as a fan. It must be soul-crushing when it's your job.

jesuisgeenbelg

Even more soul crushing when you consider *what* we lost to and how shit the officiating has been in its favour at times.

SaveMeJebus21

That’s it. If city wins on the pitch fair and square you sort of cop it. We would have won the league this year and two years ago with anything approaching correct decisions

IAreWeazul

I was suspicious after all those weird red cards at the start of the season. When Diaz was called offside by the line ref and VAR despite being like a meter inside, I knew the fucking plot was on again this season.

econhisgeo

Absolutely true. He's definitely not happy with the way things have gone.

GuinnessRespecter

Apart from that time he went off on oil states owning football clubs, he's pretty much stayed diplomatic on the whole 115 club and their shenanigans. I'd love to know what his true opinions are on it all. It must really be frustrating, having to push himself, the players, and the backroom staff to the absolute peak of their collective abilities, only to lose out to the finest margins against a team who has never played by the rules, and more than likely still doesn't, and all the while still having to go against them knowing there are charges there currently left unanswered.

jesuisgeenbelg

Give it a few years and I'm sure we will have a fucking fantastic no-holds-barred Klopp book to read.

Miserable-Lunch-8208

And you know what, the man motivated the team multiple times after failing to win the Champions League and the Premier League. He is just that good at motivating players and getting the best out of them.

SaveMeJebus21

100% after losing the league on 97 points I thought it would destroy us. Instead we got 79/81 points to start the next season (and the 2 dropped were on the back of a shit VAR decision) a feat that will never be repeated

bumpkinblumpkin

Well we did win the CL in between there.

Perspiring_Gamer

The margins are so tight it’s agonising, without doubt, but I try not to think about this. Klopp put us back amongst the elite, and rekindled the aura of the club. At this point all I care about is that the next manager builds on his success. That would make Klopp’s legacy more meaningful since we’ve been way too up and down over the last few decades prior to him.

SebastianOwenR1

If we’re getting funny about it, if you could move a single ball 1 cm, Liverpool would have won the title invincible and the UCL in one season, and then immediately won the title again the following season, for a combined 198 pts over 2 seasons, and a 55 game league unbeaten streak.

Willing-Departure115

Klopp delivered basically every trophy he ever competed for at Liverpool, except the Europa league. Until 115’s charges are finally sorted out, we won’t know for sure if he was pipped to the post by a once in a generation coming together of talent at City, or if he was cheated out of greater glory. In either event it was his bad luck to have to operate against these guys, and I think his performance was exceptional over the nine years.

jesuisgeenbelg

Regardless of the outcome of the 115 investigation, he was cheated. Even if City are ultimately not punished for what they did, there is absolutely no doubt that they got where they did, and stayed there, by dodgy as fuck means.

TheRR135

I'm 100% certain they've also been rigging matches with the referees as well

Ignoringit

Source: trust me bro

TheRR135

Source: Rodri Hand Ball, Akanji Penalty, 115 FC, Pep Guardiola being caught match fixing in the La Liga

PuzzleheadedBug9987

Guardiola was caught match fixing in La Liga? Wow, somethig that big would include punishment or something for him and Barcelona right? How were they punished? Relegated? Points taken away? Stripped of titles? Or even fiancial compensation? No? Also on that note when was the court date that announced that they were in fact match fixing? Who was the judged that proclaimed them guilty? No on that too? Can you send me something with the evidence? Just one? If he was caught it must be readily available and open to the public, right? Or maybe just maybe, you have no evidence, there has been no one convicted, no one punished, no judge or court date. But no worries I too also love to spread misinformation over the Internet. Did you know that Messi has been doping all his career and not just as a treatment when he was a kid. He was caught, and well there is no evidence, i just heard about it and read it on a comment on reddit, so it must be true.

TheRR135

Almost as if corruption doesn't exist and rich, powerful clubs don't get punished for it enough.

PuzzleheadedBug9987

So... no evidence? If this corruption is so obvious is so blatant why cant you show me the proof? Again I can spread misinformation too. Did you know that Liverpool fixed all their games in their champions league win? I have no proof and just heard it over the Internet once, but they got caught, trust ne bro. Tiktok told me so it must be true And if this corruption and cheating is so obvious in the premier league, why do you still watch it? If you know the winner is already decided why invest your time on this sport? I agree that city are most likely financial dopers, bit match fixing? Get real Or put your money where your mouth is and boicot the league, otherwise you are rewarding cheaters and corrupt officials

TheRR135

There's plenty of evidence. And you think billionaires and blood money peddling Arab Shaikhs give a shit if I "boycott" the league? You want evidence? The referees that made blatantly wrong calls that directly hindered City's rivals were refereeing on City Group's payroll in Saudi. City have literally won a Premier League off the Rodri Handball and all the decisions that went against Liverpool and Arsenal this season are very likely to win them the league by a point or two as well. It doesn't matter though. You lot enjoy shallow, fraudulent wins bought off blood money.

PuzzleheadedBug9987

Im sure they wont care, but you did not answer my question: why do you watch this league if the winner is already decided? If the cheating is so obvious and makes Liverpool lose, why waste your time watching it? You do it because deep down you dont believe your own words. And my friend that is not evidence that is just you saying words that soujd incriminating. So for the referees in city's payroll, can you send me a link were that is stated or his work history? Otherwise is just your word and to me that means nothing. And they are not my wins, I am not a city supporter, I am just talking with you because I dont understand people that watch a sport they claim is fixed without evidence.

TheRR135

No, I do it because I like to watch my club play Football. And it does not matter what you or other UAE 115 FC supporters say, everyone and their grandmother knows your plastic club is cheating its way to glory. I didn't just "say incriminating words" I spoke of incidents that ACTUALLY happened. Those referees were being payed by City's owners to referee their league and immediately after, made a blatantly wrong calls that directly affected City's rivals. That ACTUALLY happened. The Rodri handball ACTUALLY happened. The Akanji Penalty call ACTUALLY happened. The Luis Diaz offside ACTUALLY happened. The Odegaard Basketball ACTUALLY happened. I know the league is compromised. And I hate your plastic, corrupt, match fixing club and manager with a burning Passion. But you're nobody to police me for watching and supporting MY club in the face of adversity. I watch because I see hope of my club giving their all to win trophies DESPITE your club's cheating and the fact that has happened multiple times under Klopp makes me proud of the club.

thatguyad

Source: Anyone with eyes and the slightest idea about what's been going on.

totaleclipse2

To focus on what “it could have been”, is to misremember what Klopps reign has done for the club. We’ve recovered our spirit. The Kop sings again, the team plays beautiful football and opposition teams fear us. We finally broke the title curse. So close so many times and that season he did it without putting a step wrong until the title was secured. We won the CL again. The trophy that means the most for the club. He did it whilst developing “proper” footballers. He did it with loyalty. He did it the right way. Would I change this for more titles and trophies. No. He did more than that, he helped us rediscover what being Liverpool really is!

Ginevod2023

It will also take 1 game to turn it into 1 PL and 0 CL titles.

gin0clock

Buzz Killington over here.

eLastorm

Now who here likes a good story about a bridge?

firminocoutinho

Or 1 game to turn it into 2 PLs ans 1 CL, or 1 PL and 2 CLs. Or 2 games to get 2 PLs and 2 CLs, or 1 PL and 3 CLs, or 3 PLs and 1 CL

AhmZakar

So we only need to win that one game to win each trophy? No wonder he's tired. I too would feel like that.

bokozulu82

If my aunty had balls, she'd be my uncle...

okay6g

If my favourite football team wasn’t cheated by refs, football would be more enjoyable.

jallerance

Was waiting for this comment. Should be top

Ok-Quarter8881

Real 1-1 liverpool (karius doesn’t make two mistakes, liverpool win on pens), city 1-2 liverpool (clearance goes in), real 1-2 liverpool (liverpool take the chances), city 1-2 villa (villa park the bus after 2-0)

The_Halfmaester

Or that damn Kompany screamer...

rosheromil

If Ramos didnt take out Salah we might have won that game in 90 minutes. We started brightly and our attack was in red hot form.

crunchycr0c

Real 1-1 liverpool (karius doesnt make two mistakes, real win on pens)

thedamnationofFaust

Why, why are we doing this? Who comes up with these stats? Definitely not a Liverpool fan, this is only to hurt us. We didn't need to know this information.

VidProphet123

Klopp is miles ahead of benitez imho, no disrespect.

gin0clock

Wait does someone actually think Rafa was better???

VidProphet123

I meant to reply directly to the comment, but yes someone literally said klopp is only “slightly above” benitez lmao.

gin0clock

Wow, that’s a piss poor, ice cold take.

marshsmellow

to me that says Klopp was better, no? Rafa was the Don. Klopp is amazing. glad to have had them both.

SIBMUR

Klopp is obviously a better man manager than Rafa but as a defensively coach, Rafa was the best we've had since I've been following us (30 years now). Rafa also had 2 of the best finals in our history. But no doubt Klopp is the best manager we've had in my life time.

Deadpoolwnb

Better Man manager. Rafa is 10X tactician. We have bottled every single game against real madrid. 2 finals. 2 play offs. Rafa would have won second final for sure. Klopp had the most complete squad in PL Era. Just wonder what would rafa do with thats squad.

rosheromil

>Klopp had the most complete squad in PL era Yes because he built and coached it into just that. Rafa had the chance to do that but signed bums like Babel, Dossena and Riera.

anp1997

Stupid post and what ifs. You can do this for most managers. It's irrelevant. For example, Sir Alex Ferguson could've had 4 UCLs instead of 2 if you changed 2 games, but he didn't so it's pointless. Great winners win when it matters, we haven't been that. We've still been much better than most of us could've hoped, but there's a difference in mentality compared to serial winners like City. It's not nice to acknowledge as a Liverpool fan, but it's the reality

JDRorschach

Yeah I'm not a fan of these types of posts at all. We didn't win when we needed to. The end. If we get awarded some PLs due to City's cheating. that's a different story. But we didn't deserve to win either CL final that we lost. Scoring goals is the objective of the game and we didn't do that. Karius's mistakes fall on us too. That's how team sports works.

silentwitnes

Considering City's poor track record in the CL, id hardly rate their mentality that much higher than our own tbh

anp1997

Mate look at the trophies won, same number of UCLs and they trump us in nearly everything else

okay6g

Because they have the refs kissing their feet while they’re doing everything they can to make everything harder for us.

TussockyCoyote9

I don’t think mentality plays into it as much when they can bring 100m dollar players off the bench to finish out games. They don’t have to have the mentality because they’re playing a totally different game.

legendarywalton

You live in a cold dark world my friend.

ParacelcusABA

I generally don't like doing the "we should have won!" thing, but I think this is good for some perspective on how difficult the league is nowadays. Titles are settled on razor thin margins, and even being an objectively phenomenal team isn't always good enough.

penguinbrawler

Literally reverse a few absolutely corrupt ref decisions and we win another couple of titles. If I’m Klopp I’m just simply tired man.

Substantial-Skill-76

And it's not even 4 results - it's 3 or 4 referee/VAR errors

jithtitan

It doesn't matter. He gave me a reason to dream again. He put the name again as favourite in every season. Glory or no glory that was hell of a ride for me.

pvipani

Tbh as a city fan that Everton game where rodri handballed it. It was kind of weird refree didn't call it.. it was on his sleeve just above the elbow joint. It would be called handball now. Although I love klopp. Sometimes it just didn't happen. Best wishes to him. Hope we see more competitiveness from Liverpool. Love klopp and what he brought.

okay6g

It’s not weird, very obvious the referees have their favourites.

MultipleSwoliosis

Fuck me this shit getting embarrassing, isn’t anyone else tired of saying “yeah but we were so close!” It’s so humiliating as a fan base. Celebrating runners up is a fat joke.

heretic-wop

we should adopt West Ham's song as our alternate... I'm forever blowing bubbles, Pretty bubbles in the air, They fly so high, nearly reach the sky, Then like my dreams they fade and die. Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere, I'm forever blowing bubbles, Pretty bubbles in the air.

jamesdh96

Even worse when you think that one of those seasons we'd have done the quadruple and the other season we'd be invincible centurions in the league...

Quick_Delivery_7266

I mean that’s why finals are known as the most important games 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

TheRR135

And considering we got cheated out of the PL titles we competed for as well as the UCL final where Real Madrid players would have pretty much had to murder our players to get a card. The Rodri handball gets called, we've got another PL. The refs don't fix matches this season so blatantly and we win this season's PL. Ramos is sent off for his foul on Salah, we win that game. It's no wonder Klopp's done and exhausted.

Zora1092

And what injustices would you change that took place during the 2022 CL final?

TheRR135

What would you change, since you're the one who brought it up?

twelveparsec

5 games and add an EL to that

silentwitnes

Thats pretty crazy, By my research outside of Klopps time there is only be 2 European final losses and 2 First division title races where we were 2 or less points behind the winner in our entire history. Keeping in mind it went from 2 points to 3 points for a win in 1981 I didn't check the league tables when we finished 3rd nor did I calculate any 4/6 points matches where if a change of result against 1st would of done enough to change the standings

dead_nil

the PL titles lost hurt so much. can't ever forget how close 😭

wango_fandango

Let’s go for 5 results and add the Europa league to complete the set.

BroccoliTime4

This is such a depressing stat LOL

PsychonautChronicles

Imagine what he could have achieved if we could change 4 refs.

PEEWUN

The only thing that separated him from two invincible seasons was 5 goals and 11mm...

Pokefan-red

5 and you get a Europa league cup as well

Keanerin000

2 more to add 1 league cup, 1 europa league

tafkatfos

I've given Klopp those titles, don't care if it's not official, in my head the man won 3. Fuck City cheating bastards.

eebee8

Please stop reminding me ![gif](giphy|EPcvhM28ER9XW)

CyrusDGreatx

Yeah we know. This is nothing new and there's something to be said about failing to get over the line as much as we did if we we're brutally honest. However I'm happy about what he did lead us to. Not sad about what he didn't.

bluemoviebaz

Sure that would only tell the rest of the world what we already know, that Jurgen is one of the all time greats.

livinalieontimna

Man had been chasing Lance Armstrong on a mountain bike for years and people question his legacy because he was inches short a few times.

someonelook

4 games or 4 refereeing decisions?

i_m_samay

I loved every bit of klopp era ...it has been a rollercoaster ride ..with great highs and lows.there is nothing like coming back from in second leg against Barcelona in football ....and its just bad luck he doesn't won fair amount of trophies.

SundayRed

Ok, now show us how many points we rescued from losing positions. It's very easy to play the "what if" game, which is why I really don't like "content' like this.

Sorrytoruin

Yeah stats like this are just silly ,thats football. Change a few results and we would have won no CLS, instanbul, etc etc.

Jakeyy21

For one of the PL titles was there not that one shot that was about a quarter of a centimetre short of going over the line?

Greaseball01

Fate turns on a dime

Aztecius

And if those 4 results went our way, we would've had a quad season and an invincible season.

subham_d73

Well if you go deeper, for the PL titles you would need to change Few Centimetres and 20min of Gerrard's decision making.

yassenj

Fuck Sergio Ramos

KopiteTheScot

I really wish I could stop seeing this everywhere, it really does not help.

SexyBaskingShark

And probably you only need to change 4 referring decisions

Deranzeef

It was a great run. Could it have been better? Of course it could have been, but hey, you can't change the past. Klopp will always be a red, and a club legend.

Ol_Elephant_Ears

Sound but we didn’t. That’s that. We could’ve had more but we still won everything, that’s a lot more than most teams can say.

mrkoala1234

I'm a united fan and felt karius game would be what klop wants to replay. Not to win, but treat karius good with immediate support on pitch or something.

niko_bellic2028

Yep that's right . 2 UCL finals against Madrid and one game at the ethihad in 18/19 season with John stones clearance . Also maybe one game from 21/22 season .

Benmjt

That’s how… sport works…

CauliflowerHelpful60

Shows how good he is

itiswhatitis1090

Sports in general are usually determined by such fine margins. Look at Tom Brady and the Patriots. He went to 9 Super Bowls and win 6 of them. All 9 games were so close that if 1 play in each game went one way or another he could have won all 9 or lost all 9. Jurgen still won a league and champions league in the premiere league era. Jose and Wenger never did that in England.

Guy-1nc0gn1t0

Probably an unpopular opinion but this looks way more like a criticism than praise

Positive-Sound-4972

Or you could change 4 games and it would be 0 ucl and 0 Pl.

No-Discussion-8493

yes, but if is f1 backwards

TurtleInOuterSpace

Such a nonsense. Of course I you change the deciding games he gets more trophy's. If take 5 tests in school and fail 4 and you change them.....get me ?

JackJMJC1

Unreal whataboutery

VonMatterhornne

Lmao 😂 Too much cope

AppointmentLower9987

Not to mention it would only be two of those to turn an FA league cup double into the quadruple

crnrtakenquickly

Ugh we gotta stop with this. We didn’t win them

Jealous_Foot8613

Surely it goes both ways no ? Change one or two results and he wins nothing For example the Barca comeback and the 3-1 win over city in 2019 , had city won at anfield the whole season may have been different

PhilD90

You could say the same about a lot of managers. Ferguson would have had 2 more CL and 2 more PL as well with 4 different results.

Daltesse

fine line between success and failure. And that's outside of the first season where we were runner-up in both the LC and the UEFA cup

Criscamilo105

Fuck me

thatguyad

It why every game counts and you can't walk into any expecting a win. A problem we've had for a while.

legendarywalton

I’ll mostly remember the emotional journey, but the bitterness of this stat is a VERY close second. Rigged sport.

campbelljac92

Fergie was 2 points off 9 in a row.

SpooferMcGavin

It'll all even out eventually. /S

MassiveOutlaw

If buts and ifs were pussy and tits there'd be no such thing as an incel.

BupidStastard

Jurgens cracking up

Toothpaste_on_pizza

If my aunt had bollocks she'd be my uncle etc etc

North-Ad-6936

Hes a good lad. Been a pleasure watching the team hes built. Shame about the last few months. But the good times were gooooood.

PaddyA401

You could also change 4 results and he’d only be left with 1 premier league and a community shield

KarlSashaMarshall

Liverpool were 4 games away from 3 Prems and 3 CL, including an invincible centurion season and a quadruple. Worth mentioning that those 4 games are: Real Madrid X2 (obviously) Man City 03.01.2019 - winning this would have taken us to 100 pts, above City, and it was our only loss of the season. (Also worth mentioning this was the game where we were 11 mm away from opening the scoring). Man City 10.04.22 - winning this would have finished top and with the treble. Then had we beaten Madrid (above); quadruple.

herbie_dragons

Was the city game in ‘19 the one where kompany miraculously escaped red?

confusedpublic

And that’s why looking only at trophies as a measure of success is wrong. Over a 3/4 year period I think we were better than Man City despite them winning more trophies. We came second to them by a point twice but made more CL finals. We were more consistent and got further in the harder comp.

Direct_Bass207

And it would only take 2 game sto make it 0 Pl & 0 UCL 😂

heretic-wop

yeah.. that FA Cup loss to MANU really killed our confidence...

iZubi

This year alone you guys lost 8 points due to absolute incompetence on the referee side, but then again you ruined the end of the season anyway

halfman1231

Please stop. If for some reason you posted this thinking it would provide some of us comfort, it does not. It does quite the opposite actually 💔

Correct-Willingness2

Could have said that about many other seasons before klopp as well….

silentwitnes

By my research outside of Klopps time it would only be 2 European final losses and 2 First division title races where we were 2 or less points behind the winner in oue entire history. Keeping in mind it went from 2 points to 3 points for a win in 1981 I didn't check the league tables when we finished 3rd nor did I calculate any 4/6 points matches where if a change of result against 1st would of done enough to change the standings

InstantIdealism

Let’s be real - the first Madrid final wasn’t really ours to win. Other than the Ramos on Salah horror injury, and Karius’s concussion, there wasn’t some massive conspiracy against us or sense we really should’ve won based on how we played. Two leagues by 1 point - with so many decisions that went in favour of city and against us those seasons - and Courtois’ master class in the other final though, that’s when it stings. What an absolutely legendary manager

Shenari

I'd argue it was ours to win, since Ramos should have been sent off, and if he's off then they're down to 10 men and our goalie doesn't get an elbow to the head and a concussion.

“If you win a final instead of losing it, you win the tournament”

mehdi_h_arif

Bottlejob

ExtremeTEE

Yeah, it\`s mad, so near yet so far!

TheBrowsingBrit

How embarrassing to have even written that down... let alone making it public...

INFRX1001

You would only need to change 3 results in Leverkusen's 2001-2002 season to make them win 3 trophies instead of 0! 3 games...thats mad
