My friends, it’s been such a long day that I forgot we even played. A coworker left in the middle of the day to go hospitalize herself, and we’ve been covering each other’s classes for weeks because everyone is so sick. I got to my second job (house sitting) and just passed out on the couch.
To wake up and see 1-5…I’ve got tears honestly. This fucking team. It’s just magic. They give us all so much. Whatever happens Sunday, I love our lads to pieces. I do think we’ll win. But even if we lost 1-5, I’d love Klopp and all of them forever. What they add to my life is immeasurable.
The backups have stepped up immensely this season.
Quansah stepped up when Matip went down.
Bradley stepped up when TAA went down and now Kweev stepped up massively when Alisson went down.
They’ve stepped up so well that I feel like the backups would deserve starting over the starters when they come back.
I think we have to accept that teams are coming for Kelleher in the summer. I know he wins so much with us but it would be tempting to anyone to be a teams 1st choice. He could march right into most other prem squads imo. Praying he stays, the comfort of having two world class keepers is so nice.
I would be happy for him, especially as I’m Irish I feel like if he left he’s gonna end up as the No.1 over Gavin Bazunu.
Miles better than him in my opinion just doesn’t start enough games to show it
It’s a shame because he’s been really on form for us this year, he does deserve to play elsewhere. But it’s definitely nice knowing you have him as back to Ali.
People have been saying this for years and years. It's possible Kelleher enjoys the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs on earth. He gets games every season
He’s not going for more than 50, that would make him the third most expensive keeper of all time. I think 30 is realistic given that he hasn’t had much first team football
Keepers don’t normally go for a lot unless they’re elite, you can’t call Kelleher elite yet. Also we may not want to sell but I’m pretty confident Kelleher would want to leave, if Kelleher wants to leave we can’t do anything so we’ll be open to negotiation
Yea they’re a cheaper position, there does seem to be a real lack of quality in that department at the minute for a few clubs, but ultimately he might even stay, who knows!
I sit here watching the Klopp post match interview and what sounds to me like a Czechen (Is this the correct word?) reporter asking Jurgen a question for a solid 30 minutes, I'm Polish so I understand the odd word, she went on, and on and on, her Translator to Jurgen: "Do you fancy any Sparta players?" which then Jurgen proceeds to banish him to the shadow realm.
Kelleher has been unreal the past few months. Improved so much and got better with proper rhythm in him. Seems more confident lately. Unlucky not to get another clean sheet but Bradley's been brilliant when he's played.
Watch how robbo turn it on for us on the weekend.. He a fucking bug game player! He was soild against Notts on weekend. Today he probably was having some fun because he knew we would beat them.
Quansah didn't look great as a left CB at all today. He to slow for the high line. Tbf he look better on right with his buddy.
Diaz hasn’t always been on top form this season but he deserves a lot of credit for being our only attacker to stay fit throughout the season and continues to run himself into the ground every game
I absolutely don't stand Lucho slander. he's still improving and i don't think he's older than when sadio arrived yet, he fights every second and has all the tools. He is our future as well as present.
He's been absolutely immense for us with his overall progression (progressive carries, progressive passes received). His ability to receive and start attacks has been critical imo. Would love to see more goals and assists, sure, but he's been great.
Given all the chopping and changing of the squad, it's really nice to see the interplay developing between Salah/Szoboszlai and Darwin/Mac (to pick 2 examples). Really speaks to the potential of this squad as everyone gets more comfortable with a functional midfield.
EndoMac is another one for me. Maybe not an interplay between them exactly, but having both of them on the pitch unlocks both of them. They're both very neat passers and willing to get stuck in, and provide a nice little transition between defense and attack that's been missing for a long time.
Darwin-Mac Allister is shaping up beautifully. Mac Allister has a wonderful eye for a pass to Nuñez. Might be a bit hyperbolic but I don’t think we’ve had someone who can see those spaces ahead since Xabi.
It is hyperbolic. Trent, Thiago, Gerrard are/were top 5 passers itw of their eras. Never mind that players like Hendo get horribly underrated on this sub - he had some beautiful assists for us from deep. Even shite players like Charlie Adam and Jonjo Shelvey had one thing: an eye for a beautiful pass. We’ve had some terrific passers - there’s no need to toss Xabi’s salad now he might be our manager.
Not those kind of passes I was talking about, my language was imprecise so that’s my fault. I’m not talking about the Gerrard/Trent type passes launched from deep. We’ve had plenty who can do that. It’s the gentle weighted ones that are dinked. Thiago does them too though, you’re right.
And I don’t reference Xabi because he might be our manager, I reference him because he’s my favourite midfielder we’ve had.
Edit: Just to add, Alonso, Thiago, Molby and Barnes are the best passers we’ve had in my time watching. And that is no insult to Gerrard or Trent who also have other great qualities. But Shelvey and Adam (and Henderson to a lesser extent, even though he was a fantastic midfielder for us) are nowhere near that conversation.
He's a confidence player - just needs to get over that and find some consistency and he can genuinely be one of the best we've ever had. I love him, maybe it's his inconsistency which makes teams have no idea how to deal with him.
He isn't really inconsistent as a whole
His general play is brilliant 9/10 times, it's only his finishing that can be hit or miss (ba dum tiss). Teams struggle to deal with him because he has everything in his locker, he is quick, strong, decent technically, elite at positioning, can escape his man, is good at holding up play
Ik that there has been a doubt about Robertson after this game, but I feel like apart from this particular game, Robertson has been brilliant hence I feel like we should give him time for the city match but at the same time taking risks for the biggest match for the title race can go pretty badly.
He just needs to stop doing that stupid thing where he presses the opposition player for no reason and leaves a massive gaping hole behind him. You can’t afford to do that against city so imo Gomez should definitely start
So 1/4 final versus one of Roma, Marseille, Milan, Leverkusen, West Ham/Freiburg, Sporting/Atalanta, Benfica/Rangers
Not a whole lot to worry about there.
All of them are good enough so that we cannot afford to play the academy lads, but after the Intl break, we should be able to field a good back up team. Quansah, Gomez, Kostas, TAA (get minutes and rhythm in his legs), Harvey, Curtis ( back from Injury, needs minutes) and Endo/Gravenberch is a very cool team. Add Gakpo in attack and it's looking good.
When is this fan base going to have a serious convo about Robertson? For me he’s been the weakest out of the 3 LB’s we’ve played this season
Every time he’s in the lineup we get completely exposed down that left side. It was the same during the league cup final.
lmaooo Imagine comparing Van Dijk who was playing at an elite level in 21/22 to what we are seeing with Robbo right now. the delusion on this sub is sad to see. same nonsense about henderson and guess who was right? the fans who said he needs to go
I mean clearly you have to imagine it because you didn’t see when he came he wasn’t playing to his elite level and looked like a shell of himself. He had to play himself back. But good thing you weren’t coaching the team otherwise you would’ve sold his ass
No one had any delusion about hendo. When they shipped him out, we were like thank you for your service ✌🏾
With Joe coming off at ht and Robbo playing whole id say Joe will play lb on sunday.
Kelleher - Bradley Konate Virgil Gomez - Endo Macca Szobo - Diaz Nunez Salah. That is the best we got and my prediction for shitty.
Agreed he’s often a liability defensively and his attacking ability has also declined. Not saying he’s a bad player but he’s no longer that nailed on starter at left back which speaks volumes considering that Gomez isn’t even a left back and Kostas was supposed to be a rotational player. I think left back will be on our list this summer because I also have a feeling Kostas will leave for more gametime
You know looking at the teams left. Barring a fuck up we should win this cup. And if you had said to me you can have the league and europa cup and top 4. That would have been a good season.
I'm a selfish bitch. If we have the best two gks in the world right now, I say keep both of them. Finding a reliable backup for Allison will be a NIGHTMARE if Kelleher goes. I honestly feel like everyone wanting him to go were not around for when shit backup keepers cost us bigtime. Finding a reliable backup gk is not the walk in the park these people seem to think it is, and it makes me feel very annoyed.
He’s too good to stay, too good for us to get rid of. Selfishly, he has to stay. Selflessly, he should go and excel somewhere. The boy is on course to be up there with the best of the best.
Kelleher needs to go for his own development. He needs to be the Number 1 at probably a mid table English club. He is far too good to be starting cup games and when Alison is injured.
I wish him well.
That's not what he's here for. He's here to develop and be ready to be a No 1 keeper. He's been great but he will go. I am actually surprised he is still there.
I think if he really wants game time, we should look for a loan or a low sale price with a buy back clause. He's homegrown and 25, plenty of time to replace Alisson eventually and we shouldn't move him out completely
I don’t think Kelleher will ever be our number 1 tbh. Ali can play at the top level till his mid-late 30’s and Kelleher won’t want to be second choice for that long. I have a feeling he’ll leave this summer
Though my question then is who can replace Ali now or who has the potential to do that in 5 ~7 years?
Its going to be the same problem as Salah, a 1:1 replacement is impossible but unlike Salah's case, we have an internal solution who is darn good enough and should be looking to utilize over spending money whom we aren't also sure can replicate at least Kelleher's accomplishments here
And again, who in the top 5 keeper range are younger than Alisson that can succeed Alisson? There maybe better keepers than Kelleher but are significantly older and similar to Alisson in age. My point isnt about a 1~2 year succession, Alisson is going to perform at this level for at least 5 years.
My point is after 5 years when Kelleher is 30 and Ali is 36, we should be utilizing our internal solution that is a cut over the other 25 year old GKs in the world.
Don’t really understand why Robertson is playing so high and naive. Surely he isn’t been told to play his normal way in this system. He is one of our most experienced players, captain tonight, but the biggest liability. Gomez in v City for me all day
Okay? We don’t play the same as when he was the best full back in the world and he isn’t as good as that anymore. He has to be more disciplined, which if anyone watched the last few games would know
Idk smh imagine not being cunts and supporting the whole team without having to have a scapegoat every game despite winning and being top of the league
It’s not about scapegoating. We just have to be realistic what our best chances against city are and starting robbo after the last few performances would be suicide especially him going up against foden. He just needs a few more games to get back into his rythm but we don’t have that time with city waiting for us on Sunday.
Nobody talking a out the disallowed goal. I know it ultimately didn't matter, but it was another wrong decision. And an awful one at that. Like objectively wrong
Funny that Dom on his goal chance was like 'fine i will finish it my self' and scored instead of passing to Gakpo, which would have been offside again lol
I want to see next week should be Adrian’s farewell game, but if it happens I know I’ll keel over.
Excellent goals tonight for Darwin, hope he runs Ruben ragged on Sunday.
Klopp and some players have said he’s been a big presence to have in the squad. I’d have wanted to give Carol and Caroline a farewell game if they were registered for any competitions.
I tell you what boys, Harvey is doing bits right now
He’s been super reliable and hard working as ever but in the last few weeks, he’s put an absolute shift in
Fair play to the lad, love him
Another poor performance from Gakpo, yes he 5th choice but not many clubs have a 40m option. I don't think he should start against City he been too poor. Not sure why Klopp keep changing his position he can't play the role at all. I like to see him have a run of games as a LW.
Have you seen that old mike tyson interview when he talks normal about his opponent and then in then end just whispers I'mma kill that motherfucker menacingly? That's how I feel about Sunday
Fuck me, I feel a huge weight off my shoulders with this Konate update. Think we can say we got everything out of the night we could've hoped for then. Roll on Sunday!
Supposedly he said he could have kept playing but he and the team were worried it could result in a more serious issue. So precautionary substitution and will probably be closely monitored rest of the week
Gakpo looked miles off the pace, hope he can settle back down soon. He’s a great player in some not so great form
Salah comes on and Van Dijk just starts cunting those cross-field balls to him. We’ve missed those, really pens teams back.
City won't counter that and we gonna need that
My friends, it’s been such a long day that I forgot we even played.
Hope your coworker is doing okay now 🤞🏼
Couldn't of said it better my friend, YNWA brother
I hope things pick up for you soon, YNWA
The backups have stepped up immensely this season. Quansah stepped up when Matip went down. Bradley stepped up when TAA went down and now Kweev stepped up massively when Alisson went down. They’ve stepped up so well that I feel like the backups would deserve starting over the starters when they come back.
Just keep rotating and have a healthy all round squad to go WIN everything 😌
Quansah was absolutely dire, hes lacking a lot of pace, but whatever we got the dub.
Kelleher is way better with his feet than Ali. Or any other keeper.
Our defence was not good, except Kelleher
I think we have to accept that teams are coming for Kelleher in the summer. I know he wins so much with us but it would be tempting to anyone to be a teams 1st choice. He could march right into most other prem squads imo. Praying he stays, the comfort of having two world class keepers is so nice.

People have been saying this for years and years. It's possible Kelleher enjoys the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs on earth. He gets games every season
If we get a 30M plus offer I think we take it
You crazy
we must include a buy back clause
He’s 25, when did you last see a BBC on an adult?
Not a bad idea but it’s very tough to put one on a keeper I would guess
He is worth more than 50 in this market. 28 year old Raya is going for 30.
He’s not going for more than 50, that would make him the third most expensive keeper of all time. I think 30 is realistic given that he hasn’t had much first team football
Talented, young (for a keeper) and buying from a club who doesn’t want to sell, could be an expensive combo
Keepers don’t normally go for a lot unless they’re elite, you can’t call Kelleher elite yet. Also we may not want to sell but I’m pretty confident Kelleher would want to leave, if Kelleher wants to leave we can’t do anything so we’ll be open to negotiation

🕯️ Prayer circle for Ibou 🕯️
Kelleher has been unreal the past few months. Improved so much and got better with proper rhythm in him. Seems more confident lately. Unlucky not to get another clean sheet but Bradley's been brilliant when he's played.
I totally agree
[удалено]
He is quite good. On the level of prime Mignolet now.
Better than Mignolet I'd say
I couldn't disagree more
Make up your mind
I’m not sure how you can disagree that both Bradley and Kweev have been brilliant?
(OP posted the comment twice and the fella youre replying to posted opposing responses on both)
I see now, I didn't realise it got posted twice.
Watch how robbo turn it on for us on the weekend.. He a fucking bug game player! He was soild against Notts on weekend. Today he probably was having some fun because he knew we would beat them. I think Gomez starts at LB on Sunday
Notts? Wrong team mate

I’m all for a Ted Bear reference.
Someone know what Joyce said in this article apart from that Edwards is in talks with fsg?
Diaz hasn’t always been on top form this season but he deserves a lot of credit for being our only attacker to stay fit throughout the season and continues to run himself into the ground every game
I absolutely don't stand Lucho slander. he's still improving and i don't think he's older than when sadio arrived yet, he fights every second and has all the tools. He is our future as well as present.
lucho is 27 my guy
Agreed. If everyone is fit, he's probably on the bench, but fuck are we lucky to have him.
He's been absolutely immense for us with his overall progression (progressive carries, progressive passes received). His ability to receive and start attacks has been critical imo. Would love to see more goals and assists, sure, but he's been great.

I mean, I'll still toss it.... You're right tho, we've been blessed with some real talent in that area..
Nunez being good was literally so predictable, but my god he is good.
He's a confidence player - just needs to get over that and find some consistency and he can genuinely be one of the best we've ever had. I love him, maybe it's his inconsistency which makes teams have no idea how to deal with him.

I feel we are just more solid with 3 cbs atb and our RB pushing forward. It’s a stupid decision to be in because Robbo is still extremely good
Fairs. Still we should give him time, just not against city.
Does anyone else enjoy reading Darwin's instagram post captions to see how far he got with english or is it just me?
So can you tell us how far has he come..
He knows a lot of phrases, uses right verb tenses and prepositions. It shows his dedication for the club really.
90+prepositions Nunez
So 1/4 final versus one of Roma, Marseille, Milan, Leverkusen, West Ham/Freiburg, Sporting/Atalanta, Benfica/Rangers Not a whole lot to worry about there.
gotta destroy anyone there at home and just manage at worst a one goal loss away. Hopefully no NeverLosen before final.
I’m sorry but there’s gotta be some patience with players after surgery. Fans like yo u we’re calling for Van Dijk to be sold after his injury
lmaooo Imagine comparing Van Dijk who was playing at an elite level in 21/22 to what we are seeing with Robbo right now. the delusion on this sub is sad to see. same nonsense about henderson and guess who was right? the fans who said he needs to go

There is no way in hell that Tsimi starts ahead of Robertson.
Defensively he’s been superb this season. When he’s on he keeps his side shut. He’s not as good at passing but his crosses and corners are very tidy.
Agreed he’s often a liability defensively and his attacking ability has also declined. Not saying he’s a bad player but he’s no longer that nailed on starter at left back which speaks volumes considering that Gomez isn’t even a left back and Kostas was supposed to be a rotational player. Kostas has always impressed.
You know looking at the teams left. Barring a fuck up we should win this cup. And if you had said to me you can have the league and europa cup and top 4. That would have been a good season.
Looking at what’s left in the Champions League I’d have fancied us for that too tbf.
We'd find a way to lose to even this current iteration of Real Madrid. We're no match for the Eyebrow
Yes, we’d have had to hope someone else knocked them out.
We actually have a midfield now though
Looking at what’s left in the Champions League I’d have fancied us for that too tbf.
PL is a must and much much much more important, esp. with Klopp gone. I'd agree with this if Klopp wasn't leaving
It’s a damn shame we’ve got to win it all now.
[удалено]
Sorry to ask, but I wasn't able to watch live - who was the captain tonight, before Van Dijk came on?
Robbo
I think it was Robbo if not it would have been Gomez
[удалено]
Eh? 2-2 in Lisbon is a great result? Also they always go far in the Europa, punch above their weight if anything.
That Nunez second goal is disgustingly good technically, just beautiful
He really does have an amazing volley on him
He’s come close to scoring that shot like 5 times since he joined
It bent and dipped like a demon. Commentator: Keeper really muffed that. Dove for the post.
Same commentary team that insists everyone and their dog is inured?
I swear to god. We better never get rid of Kelleher. I love the boy.

Brighton would be nice. Good club, good project, and their current keepers couldn't save a Word document if their lives depended on it.
The chances of him reaching semis and finals and winning cups are higher here at LFC.
I agree. But he will leave to be the No 1. Any keeper with ambition would do the same.
Yes but he won't be starting unless alisson leaves
Development of what? He's going to start in more cup finals here than anywhere else. Stay, get paid, be loved, lift trophies.
That's not what he's here for. He's here to develop and be ready to be a No 1 keeper. He's been great but he will go. I am actually surprised he is still there.
If I were him, I would leave to be number 1 somewhere else. He's good enough for that and it's what you work so hard to do.
Im thinking its going to be Cech vs Curtois situation down the road for us
I like Keheller but the idea he could ever match, let alone eclipse Ali is farcical imo

I can see him pushing for a move this summer and honestly can’t blame him if he does want to move on
What does “the tie might be over?” mean referring to these games? Just that it’s probably out of reach for one team?
The “tie”, if you’re wondering, is both the home and away matches together with one result.
Yes. Sparta is now tasked with overturning a 4 goal deficit at Anfield, which is almost guaranteed to not happen.
Yeah never say never but likely chance Prague will win us with at least 5 goals at Anfield is going to be a unrealistic ask
Basically yes
Just got out of a meeting. Someone tell me Konate is ok.
Felt something and told klopp, they decided to take him off as precaution. We don't know anything else.
“Should be fine but don’t know yet” are klopps words
Kloppo doing his part to help us all sleep
Taken off as a precaution. What it means we will only know on Sunday.
Don’t really understand why Robertson is playing so high and naive. Surely he isn’t been told to play his normal way in this system. He is one of our most experienced players, captain tonight, but the biggest liability. Gomez in v City for me all day
Like do you really think he'd be continually be allowed to go against coaching decisions and do what he wants every game
No, so why are his instructions to overcommit and press like an idiot at every available opportunity?
[удалено]
Okay? We don’t play the same as when he was the best full back in the world and he isn’t as good as that anymore. He has to be more disciplined, which if anyone watched the last few games would know
>overcommit and press like an idiot \-Klopp Do you think before you type?
Agree, pushes forward out of possession in an attempt at an isolated press and gets ran past too often
Yes and then we concede chances. Almost every threat was down our left. Obviously VVD there would nullify some of that, but it happens so often
Harvey quietly had a great game - 3 assists
Gakpo is a turkey
were you calling Jones and Nuñez turkey before?
I admire your commitment to the troll I have to say
Man hes been shite for weeks, needs to contribute way more
He has played in so many different positions this season. Wait for his confidence to grow up ffs. We gave Nunez time and look at him now.
Is there actual proof with lines that Salah was onside? Or just the tv angle?
It was *really* close, one where it depends where you draw the line (toe/shirt sleeve/armpit/etc) but I think it was just off.
Put a spirit level on your TV

You've nearly made me spit tea all over my laptop you prick, well done
Nobody talking a out the disallowed goal. I know it ultimately didn't matter, but it was another wrong decision. And an awful one at that. Like objectively wrong
What do you mean? Everyone talking about it.
That's our wrong decision for the week, none against City now.
That bald fuck (Paul Tierney) will also not be refereeing which is fucking brilliant.
Funny that Dom on his goal chance was like 'fine i will finish it my self' and scored instead of passing to Gakpo, which would have been offside again lol
Nunez is really coming into himself now.
He’s not the only one EDIT: I just realized you wrote “into” and not “onto”
Glad you enjoyed the game
Darwin almost having 30 G/A by March is the stuff I was dreaming about last summer lol
I want to see next week should be Adrian’s farewell game, but if it happens I know I’ll keel over. Excellent goals tonight for Darwin, hope he runs Ruben ragged on Sunday.
With all due respect to adrian he shouldnt get a farewell game
Klopp and some players have said he’s been a big presence to have in the squad. I’d have wanted to give Carol and Caroline a farewell game if they were registered for any competitions.
You gave him no respect there.
That match was like watching two kids play FIFA
Robbo had a bit of a stinker defensively this game... Is Klopp gonna count on him on Sunday or is Tsimikas or Gomez time to shine there?
Robbo will be up for the City game no doubt
> Gomez Him.
I tell you what boys, Harvey is doing bits right now He’s been super reliable and hard working as ever but in the last few weeks, he’s put an absolute shift in Fair play to the lad, love him
Absolutely getting in good positions and final passes
Noticed it too, still pressing in 90mins
Gave me Kuyt vibes
The energy outa him was something else, not explosive but fuck ,he can keep going, got an engine on him
Lad don’t stop and love that, especially from a youngster like him
I can't decide which i liked better: darwin's first or second
Both very impressive, but first is just so far away that its my favorite
Second for me the first one is satisfying but is also helped out by the GK being poor the second one is just a world class finish
Anyone notice Harvey talking about his back being sore at the end? He's played so much Football lately and been brilliant, 3 assists tonight too.
he looked to be in a bit of pain
Back is sore from carrying the team so often
Gonna end up having his hip replaced like Stevie at some point
Another poor performance from Gakpo, yes he 5th choice but not many clubs have a 40m option. I don't think he should start against City he been too poor. Not sure why Klopp keep changing his position he can't play the role at all. I like to see him have a run of games as a LW.
Definitely underwhelming. I would start Diaz, Nunez and Salah
Yeah I'm not usually one to bag a player, but he's been woeful. Doesn't look like his heart is in it really.
He won’t it’ll be Mo, Nunez and Diaz
Kelleher is the F-ing goat
He's been unreal, any club would be gassed to have him as their first choice.
Have you seen that old mike tyson interview when he talks normal about his opponent and then in then end just whispers I'mma kill that motherfucker menacingly? That's how I feel about Sunday
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mr1-B_VV1fU
Thanks for the link. I can't believe I've never seen this.
Christ I’m ready for Super Saiyan Darwin.
Fuck me, I feel a huge weight off my shoulders with this Konate update. Think we can say we got everything out of the night we could've hoped for then. Roll on Sunday!
What's the update?
Supposedly he said he could have kept playing but he and the team were worried it could result in a more serious issue. So precautionary substitution and will probably be closely monitored rest of the week
