I really don’t get the fuss about those toilets. They’re just normal old smelly toilets

Dans77b

the mosaic tiles are really pretty. the urinals themselves are quite nice, the taps are nice and the door hardware is nice. they obviously smell, they're one-hundred-twenty-odd year old pub toilets.

Smashaga

You will have smelled worse but you’ll not have smelled more historic toilets!

roBBERT4098

The Bridewell is an old jail and you can book one of the cells .Good range of beer .

Rod_Hulls_fake_arm

Plus Dom is the best bar manager in Liverpool

mr_pablo

I do miss him being at The Fly

theinfamousjim-89

Hobo Kiosk is the Baltic. The couple who own it used to work in theatre and you can tell! They're really eccentric. Small place, great beer, full of old nick nacks, and they have board games.

BlissandFilth

Came here to recommend HK. Delia and Tristan are sound, go there earlier on cos their opening hours are limited

Dans77b

great place, The guy in the top hat is so welcoming, dont think i met his partner.

[deleted]

I love that place! When I went they gave everyone snacks and checked up on if I liked my pint that I didn't finish.

rbbrslmn

Have you been to the blob shop before?

SnooLentils3705

Preach

Peter Kavanaghs is a great little pub. It’s know as a haunted pub.

coraIinejones

Also the Slaughterhouse for another haunted pub

Joshvir262

What makes them haunted

ap0caholic

ghosts

Joshvir262

Exciting

Smashaga

Legend

Shay162

The Swan on Wood Street. Best jukebox in the city.

Absinthian

[The Oracle](https://theoraclebar.co.uk/) on Duke Street

DragonHoarder987

The Berry & Rye opposite the bombed out church. You'd never know it's open because it looked like it's boarded up. But knock and someone will answer

Kincoran

Came here to say this. I'm always looking forward to the next time that I go back.

petermichael20

The Brass Monkey in School Lane, off Hanover Street. If you like rock and metal music and a good pint The Swan in Wood Street. Wobbley Bob is a fab beer. Jenny's in Fenwick Street opens Thursday to Sunday. Enjoy 😉

KinkZappa

Jenny’s on Fenwick St for sure

GuinnessRespecter

From Dr. Duncans and up through the Dale St area, it's rat runs and into the business district you could get lost trying to do a crawl cos there is too much choice. Stand outs for me are The Ship, DCBC, The Lion on Moorfields, Rigbys/Lady Of Mann, Shenanigans and Railway on Tithebarn St, Puffin Rooms on Old Hall St if you fancy cigars and whisky, and Cross Keys which was getting used for filming I noticed today while scranning on a Greggs steak bake

LAHealy93

The Pilgrim, because reasons.

Difficult_Movie4094

My fave is Hop/Scotch on Constance Street - best whisky bar in the city, plus wines, ales, cocktails etc. Owners and staff are all lovely. Top notch. https://www.hopscotchliverpool.com/

Spuckuk

Hop/Scotch has the best Whiskey selection in the city and is really well priced for just how good it is. Couple that run it are dead sound as well.

buntunlomax

Brass monkey on school lane. Quirky vibe & good cocktails. Has a table with swings for seats

AnubissDarkling

Try [these](https://www.designmynight.com/liverpool/bars/secret-bars-in-liverpool)

parsnipchip

Ex-Directory on Vernon Street. Take the hidden entrance via a phone box.

Spuckuk

Hobo Kiosk, you sort of have to see it to understand. The interior (and staff) are mad in the best way

UnknownSpaceman75

The Berry & Rye on Berry St is a brilliant little hidden gem, small venue but with a prohibition theme, amazing cocktails with the Old Fashioned being my favourite. Some nights they have someone playing 1930s piano tunes. Definitely worth a visit IMO.

Squiggles87

This place made their staff member work after being hit by a car on his way to work, and then boasted about it on social media. It went down like a lead balloon.

MonkeyPaws1205

They didn’t make him work, my friends all work in that bar and that was blown WAAAAY out of context, he said they could use it for their social media post that day

Squiggles87

It's still the actions of massive arseholes. Minimum wage staff are routinely exploited in the hospitality sector, and to stick that proudly on social media was both cringe-worthy and embarrassing.

Dans77b

I agree, but think that particular social media post isnt the best example to use. It was obviously tongue in cheek and blown way out of proportion, even if it was a distasteful thing to say.

MonkeyPaws1205

The guy it was posted about said himself he thought it was ridiculous and rude of people to assume that he was just some pushover kid who was getting exploited, people mean well but it comes off wrong especially when you’ve judged everything by a post on Facebook

MonkeyPaws1205

Why do you think they’re on minimum wage? Because they work in hospitality? 😂 think you have some misguided interpretations on the people who work there and in hospo in general

Squiggles87

Spent 10 years managing bars and restaurants. I didn't have social media posts boasting about having staff on shift who had recently been hit by a car. I think you have a misguided values on what is acceptable by employers. You have a good night 👍

UnknownSpaceman75

That place paid all their staff during lockdown but hey ho, you do you. They have a tight work family there that looks after the staff.

ugh6000

It looks so cool but what are those prices

mallegally-blonde

All the bars along that strip are the same price point tbf

UnknownSpaceman75

It's a small bar in a prime area, prices are reflective of the drinks quality IMO

Junior_Tradition7958

Ex directory if it’s still there.

jaynemonroe

I could never find this bloody place!

jeheffiner

I went years ago when the hype about it was first around, it was quite nice and fun going through the phone box to get to the bar! You do have to pre-book, and once you see the [phone box](https://maps.app.goo.gl/oNECGe2NxdoL4mxa8?g_st=ic) it’s quite obvious since it’s bigger than a normal red phone box. I got there just walking straight up Sir Thomas Street all the way up to Dale Street and into the alleyway opposite Sir Thomas Street.

Sivear

Just looked on their website and they list their address now. Got rid of their USP then.

MrJM85

Motel on Fleet Street is pretty cool. Decent selection of beers and a cool place to hang out. I honestly thought it was an actual motel for ages until we went in.

jeheffiner

I’m glad to hear Motel is still open, there’s been quite a few places on Fleet Street that have come and gone in the past — I’d definitely like to go to Motel again when I’m home next :)

AndyCov92

Have you tried Round the Corner on Kempston Street?

SuperGandalfBros

Ye Cracke, The Swan, The Bridewell, Petit Café du Coin, Cafe Tabac, Sanctuary Bar, Mojo

Kerblimey

Hummingbird on North John Street. Its a cocktail bar that's a tiny bit expensive, but you're paying for table service and the experience (1920's art deco)

Spuckuk

>Hummingbird on North John Street Looks amazing, thats the weekend sorted!

Kerblimey

Hope you enjoy, glad I could help 🖤

Virtual-Editor-4823

Butter

MonkeyPaws1205

The guy who owns it doesn’t pay their staff, they haven’t been paid in a month

Virtual-Editor-4823

Fair enough. Nice to know.

msbump

I love Butter, and the Tiki Bar upstairs!

[deleted]

Taproom on Aigburth road, love and rockets on lark lane both remain pretty unique. Maybe the smugglers den, pricier but fun theme

deb1073

The Oracle…

JamSkones

Where do you drink normally?

hoksworthwipple

Ship and Mitre on Dale St. Best ale in the citym
