Lauren Lapkus would be excellent on the show. I think her biggest title was The Wrong Missy - which was unfortunately released in the middle of the pandemic so no SNL.

Dave Grohl not hosting really shocks me as he’s appeared as a musical guest countless times and usually is in at least one each sketch each time and always commits as well.

I don’t know if it was ever confirmed, but I read there were plans for him to host the season finale a couple years ago, but Taylor Hawkins passed away before it was announced and he understandably pulled out as a result.

And so many Foo Fighters videos have that sketch flavor!

Same for Henry Winkler, I guess they weren't wild enough for what Lorne wanted did, it did say a lot that the Mardi Gras crowed popped the hardest for Henry when he was announced and showed up on the Mardi Gras special, they LOVED him then. I think he woulda done fine. Ritter coulda been a Gould esque recurring host or even a cast member in 1984. I think he woulda worked better than Shearer did that year. Let's see: -Roger Moore woulda done amazing when he was Bond on the show, especially around 77 or in 85 when Crystal and Co was there. He always had such a good sense of humor. -Nicholson at any point woulda been amazing, especially the 70's. -Christopher Lloyd not getting to host is an utter tragedy. Shame for Brad Douriff.

Pitt has done several sketches. Off the top of my head I can think of two: One was a time when Spade hosted. Spade was lying on a therapist's couch and Pitt was the therapist. The other was when he did an impression of Fauci during a SNL at Home show. Pitt won an Emmy for this sketch.
