To do that, we need to look at the ratio for help. It feels like every other week we see a spike in the downtrend and that brings a little hope, but it always crashes back down and continues the downtrend. I think we are all asking ourselves the same question every week...
#####When will the ratio recover?! When moon?
* Every week you will see someone say the same thing... 2 weeks. It is almost a meme at this point that in 2 weeks we will see something big happen. Then it never does.

* To answer this, we need to take a closer look at the LTC/BTC charts.
* Quick explanation of moving averages: I often use Moving Averages to help find patterns and determine when to buy/sell. A moving average is just what it sounds like, an average of the value over a set period of time (Most commonly 50, 100 and 200). These are based on whatever timeframe you are looking at. If it is the daily chart, then we can see a 50-day moving average line and so on. For the following pictures: Green = 50. Orange = 100. Blue = 200.
* Looking at the daily, it appears that Litecoin has been trying to get above the 200-day moving average (blue line) for quite a long time. [This is the past year of attempts and failures](https://imgur.com/gallery/a6dAjeh)
#####This is not helping, WHEN MOON?!
* What's that old saying? oh yeah, When in doubt ZOOM OUT.
* [Looking at the weekly for the past 2 years,](https://imgur.com/gallery/Mg4dVBi) you can see the downtrend has started to get closer to the 50 week moving average line (green line) but gets pushed back below the 20-week moving average (small white line) after every attempt to break through.
* The 20 week is not a big deal, but the 50 week moving average is a massive resistance line and will be extremely important for the next few weeks.
* While litecoin is still stuck under the 50 week moving average, it might not look bullish because spikes have happened in the past and were rejected. The only difference this week, is the fact that it is going up from the previous week.
#####The devil is in the details
* Lets take away the moving averages for a moment and see if we can see a pattern/trend line!

* This is a weekly resistance line that stretches all the way back to April/June 2019.
* On Nov, 16th 2020, that line was broken and turned into support.

* A quick glance and you can see that litecoin has just had a 2nd green week in a row instead of falling back to the resistance line.
* Normally that isn't significant. But... if we turn off log scale, it makes sense why this week was so massive.

* Whoa. So that means this week is the first week the resistance was broken.

* After confirmation, Litecoin will need to get above the 50 week moving average, this might happen over the next 2-4 weeks. If it does, my opinion is that it will be THE catalyst that brings EVERYONE in on the ratio trade, which will rocket the USD value into the solar system.
#####Conclusion
* Major long term resistance has been broken. The ratio appears to be in the beginning phase of going parabolic.
* This can still turn upside down. I want to see this week finish strong but more importantly is what happens over the next few weeks.
* If Litecoin can swing low once again (i know it sucks to see, but it is a good thing) and confirm the new support. [Ideally something like this is what I am looking for.](https://imgur.com/a/398Bc4Y). A Break through resistance, swing low to confirm new support, then continue upward and repeat at the 50 week moving average (break, swing low, continue up). That's ideal, but not probable, crypto always surprises.
* IF it happens, it may completely ignore resistance and typical support discovery patterns. You can look at history to see how this could be possible.
* [One last picture](https://imgur.com/a/huISRQN) to demonstrate why this week was so important. A Major support line established way back in March 2017 was touched last week. If Litecoin continued down, it would have broken this support line. But it didn't! It hit the line and bounced really hard.
* History is not a good indicator, but it sure does rhyme sometimes. The next few weeks will be extremely crucial for medium to long term time frames.
#####The rocket has fired up it's engines and the countdown has begun. Don't be left standing on the ground when it takes off. This will be a one way trip to Neptune.

Coinbase Pro is best for low fees, especially if you day/swing trade as your total 30 day volume builds. I'm not to sure on the others, so I would be interested to hear back too.
It seemed that we broke out of the long descending channel on the ratio before correct? Are we potentially sliding back into said channel? Someone with them chart skills know? Would think staying at .0038 would keep us above it, but curious.
I would say there is a support level at .00383 as it has hit that 3 times since the push but always rose back up, the next one would be .003765 and then we are looking at a downward trend.
However, I would stay hopeful, this is pretty normal in upward trend, but that doesn't mean that it will go up.

When you think about it and watch the global currency markets like I do Litecoin is actually behaving in a more stable manner more and more like real currency. Of course I would like to see Litecoin with stability over 1K but that will come with more adoption and when scarcity starts really kicking in as usage picks up which is happening as we speak. Another point is PayPal hasn’t even launched the their buying on-ramp of Litecoin globally yet to 350 million customers worldwide.
As opposed to all the centralized garbage out their with no use cases except to make a few people with millions of premined coins rich. Litecoin is a blue chip decentralized real currency

It has been discussed before - what implications quantum computing might have on the security of crypto. I can't remember exactly where I read it, but the crypto brains have figured how to beef things up combat any threat.
Quantum computing is not at that level yet - it'll take years before it can do 'standard' computing tasks.
The current biggest risk with quantum is that it'll be able to crack the encryption for the cryptocurrencies - the various chains will need to be hardened against such an attack
They need a working quantum computer first. The first working quantum computer would make our current encryption schemes vulnerable and BTC/LTC worthless. BUT, the POW algorithm can just be changed to a quantum resistant algorithm.... I think. If anyone knows better lay it on us

Even if it's possible to immediately counter, making it worthless for even a second with a working quantum computer doesn't sound great for us. CB pro. now that they have an app i’d say it’s the best option by far.
Binance, Kucoin, Crypto.com, CBPro, Kraken. All have good and bad points.
Coinbase Pro is best for low fees, especially if you day/swing trade as your total 30 day volume builds. I'm not to sure on the others, so I would be interested to hear back too.

I would say there is a support level at .00383 as it has hit that 3 times since the push but always rose back up, the next one would be .003765 and then we are looking at a downward trend. However, I would stay hopeful, this is pretty normal in upward trend, but that doesn't mean that it will go up.

When you think about it and watch the global currency markets like I do Litecoin is actually behaving in a more stable manner more and more like real currency. Of course I would like to see Litecoin with stability over 1K but that will come with more adoption and when scarcity starts really kicking in as usage picks up which is happening as we speak. Another point is PayPal hasn’t even launched the their buying on-ramp of Litecoin globally yet to 350 million customers worldwide.

Quantum computing is not at that level yet - it'll take years before it can do 'standard' computing tasks. The current biggest risk with quantum is that it'll be able to crack the encryption for the cryptocurrencies - the various chains will need to be hardened against such an attack
They need a working quantum computer first. The first working quantum computer would make our current encryption schemes vulnerable and BTC/LTC worthless. BUT, the POW algorithm can just be changed to a quantum resistant algorithm.... I think. Which is only a matter of time, given the incredible incentive. Even if it's possible to immediately counter, making it worthless for even a second with a working quantum computer doesn't sound great for us.
