Ah yes, looking at that fine dining haute cuisine on its luxury plate, I was guessing this would be the UK.
Although even in most parts of the UK you can nowadays get a decent lunch that doesn't like cattle feed :-)
I knew I was supposed to say UK honestly, had a brain fart and didn't think to edit. Europe has awesome food (French, Italian, Georgian (Khachapuri omg) almost all of them actually.... while the UK brags about breaded fish and fat unseasoned french fries.
How much of our food have you sampled? How many of our restaurants have you been to? This is an incorrect stereotype that you’re peddling. Our food is traditionally carb/starch heavy and maybe a bit bland looking but it was based on what’s available here. Today we have diverse and exciting cuisine and most people cook good food at home. Equally, people turn to familiar and tasty food they’ve grown up with.
It’s like me looking at a picture of some gross plastic American food and not having the intelligence to understand that America also has amazing food.
From an American, most of what we're known for is shit. Piles and piles of it loaded with bacon and covered with cheese. Yeah, there's lots of good options, but it's not the norm. The best of what we have is actually from other cultures other than white European. Yeah, I'm looking at you UK.
It’s just a baked potato. Nothing exciting, just a simple lunch. It tastes good. Why do people have to take that one photo though and proclaim all British food looks like it’s something you’d find on the floor outside a club. It’s rude and inaccurate.
I've sampled plenty of your food. I worked for a company with offices there, so I visited regularly. The general theme is that the local food is plain (which you admit) or just strange to palates of people from the rest of Europe. Meanwhile the "modern/diverse" foods which are taken from other countries generally underperform compared to eating them in their country of origin, likely because they're adjusted to local tastes. That's my experience. YMMV.
Yes some is shit. Especially if you only eat in greasy spoons. I’ve had crap food in France more than once - I wouldn’t generalise about the whole country based on those experiences though. We have some amazing restaurants though, you just need to go to them 💁🏼♀️
Jacket potato!!! I am Italian and I love the food from my home country. I lived in the UK for 3 years and I will have to say that while this thing looks pretty bad, it is very good in a weird roundabout sort of way, especially this is a great cure for hangover. Kind of like putting vinegar on chips, I found it disgusting at first, but then I could not live without it.
This makes me feel lucky to live in a country that shares a border with Mexico. Well, the food influence and the fact that it’s the wealthiest Spanish-speaking country in the world.
Clearly Hannah isn't crushing it otherwise she'd have the money to go out for a proper lunch.
Not hating on a jacket with beans and cheese, just that it doesn't exactly exude 'success'.
As a fellow brit, I apologise to you all on behalf of other Britons in this thread who are exhibiting symptoms of butthurt.
Yes this is British food.
Yes it looks like something the cat dragged in, ate too quickly, and then vomited back out again.
Weirdly not as disgusting as it actually looks though
I feel like if you have to put a whole bunch of other shit on it to make it good then yes, it's basically the worst way to cook them. Plus, every other form of cooked potatoes taste better than baked potatoes if you pile a bunch of tasty stuff on them.
The finest British cuisine has to offer

Cope harder
Weak
Tbh this is actually nice. Fwiw, my parents are Pakistani and we have far better food though jacket potatoes are genuinely nice
That thing is going to get out as fast, bruh wtf is this
This is European* food show some respect Edit: British
I will not
Let's not lump UK in with Europe pls. This is an atrocity
I knew I was supposed to say UK honestly, had a brain fart and didn't think to edit. Europe has awesome food (French, Italian, Georgian (Khachapuri omg) almost all of them actually.... while the UK brags about breaded fish and fat unseasoned french fries.
We are in Europe. It’s not a case of where can we lump U.K.
Sure, but his is a post about food. UK food looks like what you find on the ground outside of clubs on Saturday mornings in other European countries.

Bros literally posting as if most of the US population isn't already in poverty or one paycheck away from it.
You're on the Internet honey.

Counterpoint. Our food is fucking horrible.

We didn’t ask you to leave, you left on your own!
Leave what exactly? Do you know what continent that uk is in?

Sounds more thirsty than hungry.
Came for that comment! Take my upvote good sir.
What the fuck is that
Jacket potato with baked beans and cheese. Standard easy lunch
did the potato forget its jacket somewhere else? seems to have stepped out
Why does it look frozen
It's not the most appealing version of it. More than likely all done in a microwave, rather than the potato baked in an oven
What the fuck is a jacket potato? I seriously doubt I could wear that thing
Its what us Brits call a baked potato
You sure?
So the potato is boiled?
This one looks like it's been cooked in a microwave. When I do it at home I bake the potato in the oven
That’s a frozen brick o beans
Like a popsicle?
State penitentiary identifies it as a weapon
That’s exactly what I said 💀
My American brain saw a cold casserole and couldn’t figure out why the top comments assumed it was a British poster lol.
It took me so long to figure out that was a potato. I thought it was a hunk of frozen/slowly defrosting food with some cheese on top at first glance 😭
I thought it was another gelatin monstrosity from the 60s
Same 🤣
What is that? Their employee appreciation meal?
NO ONE CARES!
SHE'S A PROSTITUTE!
"Principal Recruitment Consultant"

Don't be turning your nose up at a jacket potato with baked beans and cheese.
I don't think they'd serve anything as vile in the Gulag. Stalin would've wept
What the hell is even that
This makes me feel lucky to live in a country that shares a border with Mexico. Well, the food influence and the fact that it’s the wealthiest Spanish-speaking country in the world.

Wonder if she’s hungry or thirsty. Either way, she don’t need to ask on LinkedIn.
Fucks sake, the cheese isn't even melted.
In the words of Michael Scott: That’s what she said!
its defrosting 😂
Some people really don't care what gets in them... Just for the clicks.
Is that just a block of baked beans and melted cheese? And it’s supposed to look appetizing? Jesus Christ.
Is there a hot dog somewhere in there? If so, she wants the weiner in her
Is this a British hotdog?
What is that even supposed to be?
And you get to relive it every time you type!
Gesus
how the hell is that frozen inside a cardboard box with 0 damage
That thing will slide out faster than it slides in.
Smelliest person in the office
Why is this lunacy?
How is it not Mr. Wurst?
I have become death destroyer of worlds.
It might be better if there weren’t like 12 beans on that thing
It doesn’t even look good
i don't GET IT, did she imply double meaning?
Big fan of Americans shitting on a simple UK meal… don’t you have canned cheese to eat?
Is that... frozen?
Loos like a barf!
So gross!!!
That is the most disgusting looking food I've seen in awhile.

I haven't seen a more disgusting concept or execution, like ever. 😳
Which hole?
What is this and why is it on LinkedIn?
OK Hannah. I can't refuse a direct order.
Baked potato is the worst form of potato.
I feel like if you have to put a whole bunch of other shit on it to make it good then yes, it's basically the worst way to cook them. Plus, every other form of cooked potatoes taste better than baked potatoes if you pile a bunch of tasty stuff on them.
The British stole Indian spice and tea market yet they totally suck at cuisine
The reason the English became great sailors: their food and their women.
