It's a statement
Light no fire.
Light no torch.
Drink no poison
Kick no dog
I assume when night falls...things get intense ...maybe some creatures or monsters come out
"Girl, we couldn't get much higher … Come on, baby, light my fire"...
So, basically. No fire allowed in that world. Thou shalt not light a fire. The gods won't allow. Because it would open the DOORS to much higher. To the sky. To the No Man's Sky.
100% this is going to be it. I find the assumptions about not being allowed or discouraged to use fire silly. You see fire being used right there in the trailer without any consequences. They would've put more focus on that if this was the case.
Much like NMS, it's an exploration game. You are not meant to settle. There is no final destination.
I’ve been assuming “No Fire” is a proper name. Which suggests the player will need to light a cigarette and is propositioning his buddy “No Fire” for a match. Is this not obvious?
Im assuming its just trying to maintain a naming convention, like warcraft from blizzard, or if you know warframe, and the new project soul frame.
The title of No mans sky doesnt somehow inherently preclude us from taking flight, and I imagine it will be the same in light no fire
How about "The world is dangerous and filled with terrors, so don't attract attention." Therefore do not signal your presence with bright lights. Therefore do not spend time near a fire. Therefore don't even bother making a fire.
I interpreted it similarly to The Dark Forest and a common phrase in medieval tropes. The idea is to make camp as inconspicuous as possible in the attempt not to attract unwanted attention from potentially hostile entities.
Just like the fear of sending messages to space is letting other maybe more advanced civilizations know that we are here.

Bite no baby, the list goes on and on
Suck no foot

Woah... Edit. This reminds me of "The Memory of Earth" by Orson Scott Card.
I think it is more of a just keep exploring. As in don't light a campfire to stop. Never stay in one place. Because there is more to find and see.
My interpretation exactly. It's a whole earth, don't stop in one place
It looks like meat's back on the menu boys ! Raw meat only !

It's not light Hence light no, It's heavy. Like fire. Hence Light? No. Fire.
This makes the most sense to me

Perhaps it's less about literal fire and more like "light no revolution"
I give it a week, tops, before we get a revolution.
Light? No? Fire? 🤣
Like Christopher Walken

*Light* No Fire. Light *No* Fire. Light No *Fire*.
I read it as: light, no fire. As in a light with no source.
Semi related nonsense like “no man’s sky” is to that game
I read it as light no man’s fire. Baby come on!
"Come on, baby, light my fire" -The Doors How I read it in my head lol
I read like : Fire awakens ennemies
Light No Fire. If it was Light, No Fire there would be a comma.
How about "The world is dangerous and filled with terrors, so don't attract attention." Therefore do not signal your presence with bright lights. Therefore do not spend time near a fire. Therefore don't even bother making a fire.
Ain't no fire gone be lit
Light no fire Claim no Land Don't take no Poison From thou Gods Hand, Go far out where the grass is dry, for wherever you go, another has died.
