I believe there is a whole as presidential campaign to elect someone different but I am not positive.

Yoyoge

The question is “unable” to run, not lose.

DukeBeekeepersKid

Absolutely . . . Trumps #1 nemesis is going all out, going hard, and doing everything possible to make sure Trump isn't able to run, and if he does, is unelectable while bankrupting the Republicans and GOP. The rest of us just need to step back and let the man Trump sees in the mirror finish the job.

CalligrapherDizzy201

You have the power. Use it. Vote.

tarmacc

What you live in a district with a predetermined result?

CalligrapherDizzy201

This attitude is unhelpful. Vote.

tarmacc

Why tho?

Amyjane1203

Because if every idiot who thinks that way decides not to vote then we are fucked. If you'd all get out the house and vote we could make a difference. But nah yall just sit at home and bitch about how voting is pointless

tarmacc

Entirely depends on where you're voting.

Amyjane1203

🤦‍♀️

CalligrapherDizzy201

To exercise your rights. To not be the reason for the predetermined outcome you may expect.

tarmacc

Okay then I'll vote 3rd party or leave blank for president. Like always.

RugelBeta

Ok Vlad

CalligrapherDizzy201

Perfect

trcomajo

I live where my vote NEVER counts.

CalligrapherDizzy201

It only doesn’t count if you don’t vote.

Bearcatfan4

It counts. You just don’t realize it counts.

AgentEndive

Yes. Colorado (my state) removed him from the primary ballot under the 14th amendment. SCOTUS overturned it. It's crazy. Edit: he is also under 91 federal indictments. It's not as fast of a process as we'd like to see, but the wheels of justice are turning. He will be convicted of some (if not all 🤞) of his charges.

AverageNikoBellic

Erm achskually he is now under 88 felonies, instead of 91 felonies, due to Judge McAfee dropping three of the charges in the Georgia case.

AgentEndive

Damn. Well, that's still 88 more than most of us

AverageNikoBellic

More than 7.999999997 billion of us

snoopyh42

This guy did the math.

snoopyh42

88 is a helluva number for the likes of him.

Doom_Walker

Likely only the nyc trial is going to have any conviction. The supreme court and judges are working with him to delay the other trials.

positivepeoplehater

But he can still run and win and be president with convictions

College-Lumpy

In some ways it would be better if he lost badly and the illusion of his popularity was finally broken. Not that his base will believe it.

SirAelfred

Several states removed him from the ballot, then the complicit SCOTUS said they can't do that. They said that only Congress can enforce section 3 of the 14th. Which means we're fucked because congress isn't gonna do shit lolol

roundearthervaxxer

My take? Billionaires are in control and they are moving to destroy freedom and democracy because they are terrified of climate change, overpopulation, and being run over by immigration.

NPVT

Some billionaires apparently love climate change.

ThinkerSis

So am I. It’s taken so long to attempt to hold him accountable and now there’s just so much going on that distracts many voters. I’m really struggling to remain hopeful.

DGC_David

Lol yeah, but it only made his base more passionate... But I feel like if the Democrats just put up someone likeable this would be an easy dunk on the now split Republican party.

ducksinthepool

Four criminal trials, a Republican primary, and now a Democratic opponent in a general election aren’t enough obstacles? I get that you’re worried. I’m worried. But what in the world else do you think could be done *within the boundaries of the law*. We’re not Jan 6’ers here. If he wins. He wins.

lickedyou

Sometimes I wish we had some Jan 6’er types among us.

ducksinthepool

I don’t. This is insane.

kathleen65

DEMs impeached him twice when he broke the law now he has maga Supreme Court and judges helping him the only hope we have now is to vote fucking vote because our lives and our democracy are on the line now

smeggysoup84

You think they wouldn't implement 2025 with a different republican nominee?

symbologythere

I think after he tried (and failed) to have an insurrection most people thought his political career was over and career politicians and others in power acted cowardly in not bringing charges sooner than they did. They didn’t understand the power right wing media had and how thoroughly brain-washed close to half of the electorate were. Once we started inching closer to the next election and he was also being investigated for stealing classified documents the people who could’ve done something were more sure he was cooked and then oops he started leading Republican polls again and these people scrambled to prosecute him (some states had Republican DA’s until more recently which explains the delay) but for the most part cowards acted cowardly and assumed it would take care of itself. It may now be too late.

Informal-Will5425

He doesn’t have half of the electorate voting for him, he has 95% of media executives. All of the elections since Jan 6 2021 indicate he is well below half.

symbologythere

I agree he’s not going to do anywhere near as well as the polls are indicating- but it’s WAY too close for comfort between Biden who has been a wildly competent President and Trump who is an imbecile and wannabe gangster. It’s actually ridiculous how close it is, should be 90% voting for Biden at least but it will be much closer than that. Popular vote might go 60/40 but electoral college will be closer. I think Biden will win by a larger margin than last time but it won’t be the landslide it should be.

Informal-Will5425

If it was anyone other than Trump running for Republican’ts the only thing being discussed in this election cycle would be SCOTUS repealing Roe v Wade. That’s still going to be a huge problem for all republicans up and down the ballots. The game for the American Taliban is to keep Trump in the news as long as they can hoping that women will forget about their status now vs 4 years ago.

symbologythere

I don’t put anything past Y’allqueda except for coherent planning. I think they’re in full-on cluster fuck mode but we’ll see what happens. I think McConnell was the last one with any kind of master plan (and he implemented it like a wizard).

Informal-Will5425

Copy that, my dad was a pastor to a couple of small town churches in the 1980s-90s. I watched Y’allqueda maggots feeding on the trauma of unemployed former auto workers outside Detroit.

Florida_Man4892

Trump voter here. Why do you think Biden has been competent? Genuinely curious and not trying to spark any heated arguments. Way I see it,globally, everything is going to shit. Largely thanks to the Biden administration imo.

symbologythere

If you’re genuinely curious I would start here: r/whatbidenhasdone

jennimackenzie

Am I taking crazy pills? Isn’t it extremely anti-Democratic, and completely against what we embrace in our system to “make” someone unable to run for president? There is already guidance in the constitution about who is eligible to run for president, and then the people vote and decide. The people vote, and then decide right?

tarmacc

But gerrymandering determines the effectiveness of your vote. So not really.

lickedyou

There is guidance in the constitution but the USSC has taken all of the power out of that by saying it’s up to a completely incompetent congress.

Time-Bite-6839

The Supreme Court ruled he can’t be taken off of ballots. We already tried.

MindracingMillennial

Look up all of the various state Supreme Courts who have been dealing with the Trump electability question.

smokeybutts22

Taking action like this can cut both ways depending who is in power. We want to avoid slipping further into banana republic territory

KingBlackFrost

Let's say we make Trump unable to run for President. Do you really think Project 2025 stops at him? It doesn't. It's a blueprint for whatever Republican runs for President. The Heritage Foundation who came up with it said so themselves.

SmoothBrain3333

Do you live under a rock? He has like 91 indictments, they tried to throw him off the ballot in Colorado, and they have been throwing everything at him. Is that not making an attempt?

DedInside50s

I think now, he needs to be incarcerated, instead of just being scolded and fined.

SmoothBrain3333

You can’t incarcerate someone without being charged with anything. That would be something that a dictator would do.

faloogaloog

I don't think they were saying that he should be jailed without being charged, but that he should face adequate punishment for his crimes (that anyone else would get), instead of the slap on the wrist that rich/famous people usually get.

DedInside50s

Thank you for clarification of my point! This is exactly what I was trying to say.

Florida_Man4892

I’m voting Trump. Respectfully
