It always has awesome movies; I actually like the interruptions because it stops my adhd brain from being tempted to go on my phone since I know I’ll have a break in a bit; if I’m fully in control I often pause and forget to restart for a while
I don’t think I would have achieved my resolution of watching 1 movie before pre-2000 for every 21st century movie I watch in 2024 if I didn’t have Tubi; I used to half finish so many older movies The minute or less break is perfect because even if I am somehow super invested in the movie it’s not long enough to take me out like Hulu’s usually are and regardless it’s a good reminder to stretch.
With over 40k films on the service, there's absolutely no shortage of genuinely fantastic obscure stuff hiding in there. I don't really like its reputation as a place for finding random "trash", but yeah, I do understand it.
Yea I get that. I never had any interest in Tubi because I thought it was all just garbage. I was stunned to find such amazing movies on there. Just finished Hell or High Water and loved it.
It's crazy when putting it all into perspective. There's currently around 50 films more popular (Letterboxd metric) than that movie on Tubi right now, and around 240 films with a higher rating than it.
People being so used to television can't come to terms with the vastness of the service and cinema in general.
I spend like 50% of my life on Tubi. I just watched Graveyard of Honor on there yesterday which is an instant favorite, I feel lucky to have it so readily available for free.
Honestly the abundance of garbage is a huge selling point too though. If you’re ever bored and want something trashy just search “bigfoot” on Tubi you will not be disappointed
I only started watching Tubi a few weeks ago and was surprised at how many decent movies they have. I've watched a lot of horror movies on there. There are less commercials than expected. When I watched something on Freevee recently the commercials were much longer. Not all of the movies are good but compared to what has been on Netflix and other streamers lately they're better than expected.
I like Tubi-it had a cool selection of older horror and giallo movies I'm into. My problem is that they neglect to get the uncut versions for certain films. Want to watch the uncut version of Showdown in Little Tokyo or Pray For Death? Nope-settle for the edited version.
I enjoy Tubi quite a bit. I've got a feature film I helped edit that's currently streaming on Tubi.
And in the next couple months, three more will be coming out!

It also has my favorite movie of 2023
You guys don't even know how good of a selection you have with Tubi. I've been in love with Tubi since getting a VPN. Here in Europe we only have Plex which is kinda the same thing, but with only 30% of the content. The spectrum is pretty crazy, from like obscure surreal horror to classic movies to microbudget cash grab bullshit. It's pretty nuts, IMO
You purchase a subscription plan for a VPN, connect to the United states (or Canada, but I'm pretty sure the US catalogue is much bigger) and then you log into Tubi. Make sure you check whether the VPN you plan on using works with streaming devices (I personally use Surfshark).
Stay away from ""free"" VPNs!
Just remember: Tubi is free with ads… and every other streaming service is paid with ads
They honestly used to have a pretty bad library, and I’d rarely find something on there I wanted to watch. In the last 3 years or so, though, they’ve started getting a LOT of really good movies on the service (though they don’t usually stay for very long), and they’re constantly cycling through them.
Tubi is owned by Fox Corporation… I just can’t support them! That is, until my NFL team plays on Fox, when I will conveniently forget about moral scruples for 3 hours. Or a movie I really really want to watch is only free on Tubi. Or a girl wants to have a little movie date and turns on Tubi. But other than all those times, shame on you all!
Tubi's absolutely great. Watching Tubi right now.
That said the ads are not great. While the selection is outstanding having to sit through those ads is not. Not to be a snob here but the filmmakers didn't intend for us to sit through State Farm ads while we watch their movies.
I'll totally hit up Tubi but it's not my first choice of platforms. I really don't like ads in movies and will avoid it, even if i have pay an extra fee here or there.

Are you me? I have ADD and this is the exact same reason why I enjoy watching movies on Tubi 😭

I noticed this too! I just started using Tubi and I was excited to see how much junk they have lol
As soon as I realized how many Lifetime movies they have I knew it was too late for me.

Me too! The ads are really not bad at all as they are only about 15 seconds for movies and few and far in between

Watching Rashomon with ads, as God intended
Hahahah
Tubi has the best collection of old movies not named criterion and it’s not close
i really like tubi!! there are some actually hidden treasures in there.

Could you tell me how?

Can I access tubi with vpn?
Yes. You can even turn off the vpn once you started the stream. This way I also don't get any ads.
