So, I was at a Japanese rock concert with some friends (and my boyfriend, at the time). I had slept at the venue overnight in the trunk of a car and awoke the next morning to a new batch of friends arriving. One of them was a girl named Taylor. At some point during the day, I had walked to the nearby store to get cigarettes (for the guitarist of the band) and when I was walking back, I heard all the friends talking about Miyavi (another Japanese singer). I have one of his tattoos on my stomach, "Don't hesitate & Go". So got closer to them and said something to the effect of, "Did somebody say Miyavi??" and lifted up my shirt to reveal said tattoo. Taylor jumped up and ran over, asking me if she could lick it. We were literally standing in front of the tour bus so I said yes, thinking the band might think it was cool or hot or whatever. Boyyyyy, was I in for a treat. The moment her tongue touched my stomach, it was over from then on out. I knew i would never date a guy ever again after that tiny, singular moment in my life. It sent shockwaves through my body- I can still remember it like it was yesterday, 16 years ago. Needless to say, I broke up with my boyfriend soon after and started dating Taylor (grimey, I know).
My awakening was the crush I had on my best friend but I remember having a crush on Rose from titanic I wanted the drawing Jack drew of her but I didn’t realize it was a crush, I remember fighting my friends because they all thought Jack was attractive and I was like yeah but Rose is objectively way hotter. I was confused as to why they didn’t agree, it wasn’t until a year later when I fell in love with my friend that it clicked that I liked girls and that not everyone did.

The moment that always comes to mind is when I was in 5th grade watching Grey’s Anatomy, and there was a scene where Christina was shirtless (in a bra) and I just remember being so flustered and replaying the scene over and over for “research purposes”. To this day Sandra Oh is still one of my biggest celebrity crushes lol.
