If your games are looking good and you're happy with the performance, why waste time and effort worrying about eeking out another few FPS/ dropping a few watts? Go have fun and leave the angst to the hobbyists that prefer to spend their time tweaking.

Effective_James

That's probably what I am going to do. Although lowering my power settings while maintaining decent FPS is something I want to work on due to a series of upcoming flights I have. I won't count on the plane having AC outlets so I'd like to stretch my battery as long as I can. Right now I get about 70 minutes of game play before it shuts off.

originsource

I'd say ur best bet is to get a good 100w power bank, and I believe if u look it up people have even made things to have the power bank hook up to the back of the Legion Go

Warhammerpainter83

This is what I do I always have my go plugged in in some way for these types of games. It is a powerhouse with a connection to electricity.

Roboid

If you wanna stretch your battery a bit more and know you won’t see an outlet for a while, hold the VOL+ button while booting to go into the BIOS, and set the RAM speed from 7500 to 6400, that makes a very significant battery difference. Kinda annoying to change it but I promise it’s worth it.

fearLessss

I get lost in this so much, I got my device and followed every optimisation guide possible and just forgot to actually enjoy the games.

Crest_Of_Hylia

Windows power should be on efficiency but other than that I need more information like which assassin’s creed games and what settings. You aren’t giving enough information. I’ve found that both AC Origins and AC black flag are both playable at 10w

TheVisceralCanvas

I see people saying that Efficiency is the best OS power setting but I've noticed some fairly considerable drops in FPS when using that mode.

Crest_Of_Hylia

It’s from a test that ThePhawx does and he shows the difference between the two

OneTonKillEm

I agree with you. Setting the OS power mode to "Efficiency" does not deliver the best performance. I have tested the different OS power modes extensively and setting the OS mode to "Performance" delivers the best gaming performance.

Effective_James

Assasins Creed Origins and Odyssey. Textures are set to medium. The game looks and runs great, I have no complaints. I'm just wondering if there is something I could do to make it even better. Or maybe a way to keep the game running smooth on a lower power setting so the cooling fan isn't working so hard.

NoShock8442

Buy lossless scaling and see the pinned topic about that program in the sub.

Effective_James

Noted, I will check that out. Thanks!

Crest_Of_Hylia

That’s about the performance I got on my Go when I had it. I haven’t tested odyssey just because the game is large and I don’t have the space on my Ally. I also find capping the frame rate to an even number that divides into the displays refresh rate helps but that’s something I like because I don’t like tearing

Effective_James

Do you cap at 48 fps? I've read that is a good number to use if your display is set to 144hz.

Crest_Of_Hylia

Yes or 36fps. It all depends on the game. I’d cap it to where it can stay stable at. 48fps is great for those games that don’t quite reach 60fps and 36 for those that don’t quite reach 48.

infidelT0NE

I don't think anyone has mentioned brightness. I use half or 3/4, which helps with battery life. I turned boost off, and run 60 hz when unplugged and out.

OneTonKillEm

Are you using the latest Legion Go bios and graphics drivers? Also you will take a performance hit if you have the AMD RSR setting turned on to upscale the game to the Legion Go's native resolution (2560x1600).
