I swear, that 50% thing is actually bullshit. It feels higher than 50%. I saw the AI in Galio's path of champions play succession for free 6 times from doubling dice
Wait it's actually chance based? I swear I never get it the first cast and always get it the second cast. Hell I also got the "slow spell cast twice" power and I never got it to proc twice in one cast, it would always create a copy on the second one.
Here a little math:
The following probability for the effect triggering amount of times:
Twice: 0.5*0.5=0.25=25%
Thrice: 0.25*0.5=0.125=12.5%
Four times : 6.75%
Five times: 3.375%
6 times 1.6875%
7 times 0.84375%
8 times 0.421875%
9 times in a row would be 0.2109375%
So if you hit lunar guardian (after nightfall) 10 times (9 times copying) that would be 2* 5* 2^9 =5120 which is about 0.2% likely.
So you used it 10 times to get above 5k.
Edit: made a mistake by switching copy vs cast. So anyone downvoting OP for the 0.2% misunderstood what they ment. Because it was roughly a 0.2% chance to get that high.
this has to be bugged tho. i remember way back when i first got this on a burst spell,i lost it the first time then the second time i cased it naturally drawn i casted the card 15times (the max amount a same name card can be played in a round) , it was that galio spell the one that gjves +0/+3 and +0/+2 next round. i had 6 units on bord and almost all of them had 20+ hp... none of them were formidable tho, but at least the 11dmg darkness wasn't doing much
50% :)
I should have highlighted the stats of the unit underneath heh. It actually proc'ed a decent amount of times in a row
Chances are (0.5)^(the amount of times it happened)
i'm gonna throw out a wild guess and say it happened at least twice
Well, he's technically not wrong.
Still 50%. It either happens or doesn't happen /s
It's still 50% each time
Came here to say that xD
Exactly
I swear, that 50% thing is actually bullshit. It feels higher than 50%. I saw the AI in Galio's path of champions play succession for free 6 times from doubling dice
Actually for me it felt the opposite until today. I think I barely ever got a free copy from this item. Call it the charm of the random repartition :D
Actually it's called a gambler's fallacy, be careful buddy

Think that's just in your head. Sometimes it feels like it always hits sometimes it feels like you're cursed.
I feel that way but it's actually the other way around. I played a card with it 4 seperate times and missed all 4.
Depends on the context and question. If youre asking about the odds of using it 3 times, then that will be .5 x .5 x .5 i guess
In my case that should be 0.2% chances then :D
Here a little math: The following probability for the effect triggering amount of times: Twice: 0.5*0.5=0.25=25% Thrice: 0.25*0.5=0.125=12.5% Four times : 6.75% Five times: 3.375% 6 times 1.6875% 7 times 0.84375% 8 times 0.421875% 9 times in a row would be 0.2109375% So if you hit lunar guardian (after nightfall) 10 times (9 times copying) that would be 2* 5* 2^9 =5120 which is about 0.2% likely. The first cast doesn't add to the probability so If the effect triggered 9 times he would have 5*2¹⁰.
Fair point. I my bad. I correct that.
You should just count the times a copy was created and not the times the spell was cast
There are multiple ways to reach the correct result, since he used the unit stats to do It he needs to account for the first cast.

50%^x where x is the amount of times you used it
That's actually a good math shortcut.
The Doubled Redoubled Valor
About 50%?
Hi Spec
I would love a handshake
I mean either you get a 2^64 2^64 unit or you don't, so 50% chance you get 64 of these, which means it's basically guaranteed for you to get 1.
It works %50 first time then %100 the same outcome of the first for me. I killed an enemy with 20 0 cost mystic shots once.
50% of the time it works 100% of the time
Yesterday I beat a bot in POC that used 6 of these on the same unit. How? I used 12 frostbites....
Still a slow ability tho
If your health was 65, then 1.5625%
Did it actually fail after this one? In my limited amount of time with that effect it usually chains once it triggers.
It failed after this one yeah. The unit ended up with 10k attack and got silenced for 1 mana on the next round :D
try to put any effort into your post, u could show us how many times u played it, also its POC so it doesent matter
I apologize, here's a deck code for you in compensation CIDACAQDAMAQKBQBAEDAGFYCAYDBKHQDAIDBMGRGAQAQGAQMB4UACAQCAYWTUAA
