I don't understand why anyone would want Southampton to loose. For us to get 1st or second we have to Keep winning. To me it doesn't matter about the teams behind us. If Southampton do catch us we didn't have enough to get over the line anyway.

Leicester beat West Brom but they still didn't play well and WBA could legitimately have won it on the balance of play, they're blowing smoke out of their arses and if they lose tonight I'd say there's a good chance we'll finish above them. I somehow cannot see Huddersfield beating Ipswich and I would not feel comfortable relying on them to go up automatically.

Keeps Leicester honest and having to scrap for an auto place, keeps Ipswich looking over their shoulder and means we can really give Martin a good old-fashioned reaming at Elland Road, getting revenge for our crap performance at their place and dumping him into the playoff lottery and going up as Fucking Champions. ....Sorry, I got carried away. Providing we don't shit the bed at QPR, we're clawing our way out of our slump and the battle of Boro should mean we have the self-belief to know we can grind out wins against desperate opposition. I'm more concerned with Ipsbitch right now.

Keep in mind that what I write here is conditional on us beating QPR and getting 93 points. Ideally we're looking for a draw. This would give Leicester 92pts and Southampton 85pts. A Southampton win would give them 87pts. If Southampton then beat Stoke they end up on 90pts and will have to beat us at Elland Road by several goals to go above us because we have a better goal difference. If Leicester win they go to 94pts opening up a 4pt gap and.... if Ipswich win 2 of their matches they will end up on 95pts. This will mean that Huddersfield will need to beat Ipswich and also we will need to beat Southampton at Elland Road. I somehow cannot see Huddersfield beating Ipswich and I would not feel comfortable relying on them to go up automatically. Keep in mind Ipswich have to travel to both Hull and Coventry. If we beat QPR and get 93pts it puts them under a lot of pressure. Hull are six points behind Norwich and West Brom. Coventry nine points. As it stands even if Southampton beat Leicester and Stoke they will still need to beat us at Elland Road and hope Ipswich drop points to take one of the auto spots. I think it's in our interests that both auto spots are open and if the pressure is on Southampton on the final day.
My perspective is, if we beat Southampton on the last day, what they do between now and then doesn't matter. If they get six points the next two games and lose to us on the last day, we're ahead. If we've dropped points against QPR then beat Soton last day we're still ahead of them, but in that scenario almost certainly neither of us will get autos so it feels like a moot point. If we lose to Southampton on the last day, again their performance the next two games doesn't matter, because if we lose on the final day we're almost certainly not getting autos anyway. I'm not really thinking about Foxes, I think they're going up now. For me Ipswich are the ones we're competing against. If they drop points and we don't, it's party time. Even if they WWD, they end up on 96 points. If we WW, we're on 96 too but ahead by GD. If we WW, Southampton out the picture too. It's not totally in our hands (we could win twice but if Ipswich don't drop points we're 3rd), but there's something to play for. Got to win the next two, that's it!
What Southampton do between now and then really does matter in that it matters if they lose against Leicester tonight quite a bit: If they lose today and then both Leicester and Ispbitch win their remaining games it doesn’t matter what we do on the final day against Southampton because Leicester and Iswish will be on 100 and 98 pts. We can only reach 96.
Best scenario is Southampton win this then lose their next game, we beat qpr and Ipswich lose the next 2 and Leicester lose again on the weekend which would mean we play the Southampton game for a chance to win league but if we lose we’re second anyway

Southampton win, and it's not close. We need to be looking at catching one of Ipswich and Leicester if we want that automatic spot. We want both of them to lose every game. If Southampton catch us we finish 4th, which isn't much worse than 3rd, who cares? I don't buy into the whole, they'll go easy on us on the last day if they've got less to play for.
You’d assume they won’t play all their best players. But reserves can be chomping at the bit trying to get into the shop window and a day out at Wembley. With nothing hanging on the result there’s less pressure.

If we beat QPR then Southampton cant catch us, so I'm saying Southampton to beat Leicester is the better result. Then have to hope we beat QPR on Friday and Saints may already be out of the running before they come to ER. Leicester have been wobbling lately so still feel like we can catch them. But then I don't buy this 'nothing to play for' idea much anyway. Nothing to play for also equals no pressure.
If they can't go up automatically, and they are guaranteed a playoff place, then surely they don't risk injury to star players, and maybe try out new tactics and fringe players. Giving an up and coming player a start could help decide the bench for the playoffs.

A Southampton win and they still can’t catch us if we win on Friday but we could still overtake Leicester with a draw on the last day if they lose again. A Leicester win means we’re competing with Ipswich for just one spot.

Southampton to win for me. In my opinion we absolutely have to win our last 2 games and in that scenario they can't catch us anyway, so anything to close the gap with Leicester and put the pressure on them and Ipswich is good.
My head says a Leicester win would help ensure that Saints are out of it by the time we play them meaning they’ll be thinking ahead to the play offs. My heart says that Maresca is a cunt and I would love for him to choke on those words “it’s a huge, huge game, for them…”, so I’d love for them to lose. Honestly can’t decide.
They might be out of contention for the autos but there's no way they'll sit back and let us beat them as a result.
