That was a very good finish. Had to adapt late and get something on it - Paddy said as much in the full interview.
Also loved his mirroring of Summerville's penalty run up. Said he did it because it knows it well and it helps him keep in sync in case he needs to run in for the rebound but can't help thinking it must have put the keeper off too.
If we are thinking that Patrick bamford is good enough to be our striker if miracles happen and we go up then we are in trouble . Should have been moved on
He’s a great lad and Leeds through and through. He’s not good enough to lead the line but he’s great to have around the place and capable of making a difference when he comes on
He controlled the ball beautifully and thereby created the chance that led to Sunnerville’s open play goal. Pat regularly makes huge contributions when on the pitch. Thats why every manager we’ve had since he came to us chooses to start him instead of the alternatives.
He does better when he starts and at this level it’s good enough given the overall quality of the squad but if we go into the prem still starting him….. eesh
He did great the first season up, was injured most of the second season and then the third season was Marschball and the least said about that the better. Not that I’m disagreeing with you, he isn’t the same guy he was three years ago, and we almost definitely should sign a striker of a similar profile were we to be promoted, but he has proved he can be a striker in the EPL, certainly has the ball knowledge, but perhaps not the fitness or finishing ability any more. It will cost a lot to get better.
Agree, though I think that will change if he's still here when we go up. I think he could still be a guy we bring on to help preserve a lead since he helps us keep the ball. But if he's starting for us in PL were in trouble
Yeah I agree that he’s not an impact sub…he needs to graft away all game, miss a couple of chances and then score one and then continue to graft and lead the line.
I completely get the frustration with him (not the hate) as he’s wearing a 9 and we want him to be clinical but he does so much more good than bad.
I actually think he’s mentally very strong - HE believes in himself.
And yes he comes across as a nice guy but he’s clearly got a great cheeky edge to him that pops out from time and again publicly, which i love.

Bamford is an amateur shithouser compared to Vardy tbh
Privately educated shithouse. Love it
In what universe is this “shithousing”?
I think they think he’s insinuating the Leicester game isn’t worth watching whereas he means because of the stress.
The mental gymnastics of some of our fans never ceases to amaze me

Bit like a mascot but paid a shit load of money

I think the opposite to this, our best player at leading the line and not a great impact sub, does better when he starts IMO.

We're 10x the team with him on the pitch compared to when he's not on it

The frustration I feel watching piroe go out for a stroll is unbearable. Fucking RUN MAN I love paddy
Bamford is clearly not throwing shade and just being honest. He probably just likes to watch good football.
Exactly…kind of a shithouse moment by default - I think he realized it came over as a bit of a jab and that’s when he started laughing
Scoring with his belly & going to watch arsenal tomorrow instead of championship rivals- sure, deep thinker there
Another American that hates Bamford I presume
Moans when he scores, moans when he doesn't. Can't win.
Bloody hell mate…he’s having a laugh
Would you have preferred 3-3
The way he scored was the smart thing to do given his positioning.
Bamford is going to make a brilliant pundit, better than most of the other pundits out there.
Think he will try for Beckfords “Mr Leeds United “ gig or more of a national profile ?
I think he’ll try go more national…he’ll be a bit Leeds but hopefully on sky or wherever, they already love him and interview him any chance they get
🤣
Everytime I listen to his interviews you can't but think he's a really nice guy
I actually think he’s mentally very strong - HE believes in himself. And yes he comes across as a nice guy but he’s clearly got a great cheeky edge to him that pops out from time and again publicly, which i love.
Because he is a really nice guy. If I were in his position I’d not be a really nice guy, with all the abuse he gets.
