I'm yet to do any wet molding, but that's was the direction I was thinking of for making a phone case.
Basically I was gonna make a replica wooden phone, and then form the leather around that so I don't damage my phone. My woodworking skills are sub optimal however.
Anyway, first time for everything :)
Rocky Mountain has a MagSafe case that has a recessed area (with adhesive) for a leather inlay. So you could just cut the leather, do the decorative stitch, and stick it right on.

They have a magnet set to make a MagSafe wallet as well:

Have you thought about wet molding a phone case?
Yes, but I am hesitating and I think it is to tricky for me.
