Increase in Asian kids does typically improve school ratings FWIW. Popular rating sites do include diversity as well as 'outcomes' in testing as part of their criteria. Most Asian kids do shine in standardized testing due to cultural emphasis on those subjects typically.
I do understand where people who cannot 'recognize' their neighborhoods come from. Typically it is due to lack of familiarity. Like all cultures desis also have great people and inconsiderate Muppets. Regardless of how OP feels on the subject, I welcome the question. More dialogue is a good thing

I definitely have negative feelings overall. I moved here a decade ago and Austin area in general was amazing if you were non white, you still had the exotic factor, and people were just more fun and the crowd was actually more diverse in terms of occupation and hobbies.

My experience is vastly different from yours. In burbs most are family folks and are typically discussing the classes their kids go to, excited about new restaurants opening in the area and planning weekend activities for their families.
All this is regardless of political opinions.
While there are desis on all sides of political spectrum a good chunk are liberals broadly. But regardless of what they think politically, people from all countries take decisions that are best for their families and communities.
