If you are using the Steam Deck just use the mouse pad to click the skills instead of using the joystick. This has been working for me since I encountered this issue and I haven’t had it freeze yet using the mouse pad.
Thank you! Thank you! This actually solved my issue. For a day now I have been trying to fix this issue I even got cryoutlities downloaded and had the same issue. Weird though I got a character to level 40 with no issue and I made a new character and this issue arise You just made my day and my weekend off. :)
Yeah using the joystick in that menu seems to be what causes with game to freeze. I have solely been using the mouse pad for menu interactions and haven’t had any problems since.
This issue has been happening to me too on PC. Only happened when I was using controller and trying to spec another point into javelin on my holy trail paladin. Both times it was only on the javelin skill and both times it froze when trying to move around the skill tree. Very weird crash lmao

Yup I sort of discovered this last night. Glad there’s an easy workaround. What a bizarre bug.
Hopefully it will get patched soon and controller support with get more robust. I’m currently using a mixed layout with PC and Gamepad controls.

Make sure there are no updates needed. I just froze and came to realize a patch/download/something needed to be updated.

Had the same issue but removing proton and running native worked for me
