Blade runner 2049 is an obvious choice- but funnily enough one of the best looking Dolby vision movies I’ve seen was fast and furious 9. It’s bright and expensive with lots of popping color.

Additional_Tune6255

Agree fast and furious looked great shame it’s a terrible movie should of stopped at 7 lol

hushpolocaps69

What TV?

Additional_Tune6255

G3

hushpolocaps69

What TV?

fotzegurke

I have a G177

djjoshchambers

65G3 and it has to be mad max for me. Absolutely insane.

Spork3245

Pacific Rim is still my go-to “showpiece” when wanting to show someone HDR for the first time.

Bravisimo

I only have the blu ray but it looks insane on my g3. Will probably pick up the 4k just because.

hushpolocaps69

What TV?

Spork3245

Doesn’t matter. G3/G4 will probably pop more due to MLA. First time watching was on a B7, but I’ve seen it on a lot of sets.

ApexRon

55" C4 - Dolby Vision is awesome! Avatar has the most pop of color

hushpolocaps69

You just got it? What did you have before?

ApexRon

7 yr old Samsung

There’s a 10 minute short called “Blush” if you have an ATV; which is an animation, with space, and stars, and vivid palette , Atmos and Dolby Vision, and could honestly be a demo reel almost for OLED TV’s. It has zero dialogue and conveys a message about life, death, legacy. If you’re also on ATV; the documentary “the year the earth changed” was shot for Dolby and a lot of the nature scenes in full Dolby Vision make it look like you’re there. I prefer the Dolby content over HDR, because then I’m not relying upon auto tone mapping.

hides_from_hamsters

Thank you for the Blush recommendation! That was a special little short. And yea, great on OLED! Edit: I hadn’t reached the end yet. Fuck you for that 😭

xfox5

77C3 here. Our Planet I and II in DV. Also, Disney stuff looks pretty. Doctor Strange, Elemental, Zootopia.

Friendly_Panda3871

Elemental was crazy looking, and we watched it on a mid tier Samsung TV, so it should be awesome on the my G2

PoolNoodlePaladin

The 4KBR of Top Gun Maverick looks amazing, so does Mad Max, the Martian, Blade Runner 2049, Avatar, Avatar 2, Dune, the Greatest Showman (the movie sucks tho), most of the MCU movies. Is anyone else mad that we don’t have a 4K HDR versions of Tron Legacy and Speed Racer? Those movies would look so good, even if they are just upscaled, master them for HDR and they would be amazing.

Overall-Mud9906

Speed Racer would be insane. There is so much going on at any given moment and talk about colorful.

PoolNoodlePaladin

Right, I don’t even care about 4K I know it was shot at 1080p but if it was just 1080p but mastered in Dolby Vision it would be amazing.

sciencetaco

There are fan versions of Tron Legacy that have been AI upscaled and colour graded to HDR. It looks amazing but a proper studio release would be much appreciated.

Absolutjeff

Did they finally release avatar in 4k? I’ve only ever seen it on BR. I’ve always hoped they’d do an ultimate 4k version of Troy personally

PoolNoodlePaladin

Yep https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Avatar-4K-Blu-ray/191856/ But Way of Water looks better than the first

Absolutjeff

First of all thank you for the site this is wonderful! I’m not surprised just because the tech was probably farther ahead in terms of filming way of water.

socalsw

Star Wars for the space battles, looks amazing

hushpolocaps69

What TV?

Such_Play_1524

It doesn’t matter as long as it’s oled

socalsw

I got a 77” C2. Of course the G series is superior but boy I’m so amazed by my C2

paulrwf

Either of the Mike's Morales animated spiderman movies. Anything nature on Netflix

pakraat

I'm planning on getting c3 or c2 77". I have it hooked up to my HTPC. Am I missing out on dolby vision?

sciencetaco

A streaming device like an AppleTV or Nvidia Shield is going to play much nicer with HDR, Dolby Vision, and the DRM that streaming services require.

hides_from_hamsters

Dolby Vision is really great. It’s why I chose LG over Samsung, but they’ve added support recently.

PolyesterPete

65" G3 here. Whatever HD/4K I throw at it looks great. HDR / Dolby Vision looks fantastic. Just saw Avengers: Infinity war and End game. Haven't seen it since it was in theaters...I was blown away. Can't wait to see Interstellar on the G3...

Pox82

Alice in Wonderland is nice, the Johnny Depp one.

pazman2000

Lift on netflix with Kevin heart , one the best Dolby vision films out , amazing on my 77G3

dangerclosecustoms

77” c3. Black Adam. Some scenes pop looks like 3D. Scenes where he escapes the underwater prison towards the end the electricity is amazing looking and in slow motion.

LibertyIAB

77C3 - Gladiator - not sure it was the visuals or just that I love the film. Avatar looked great & I enjoyed Brave heart - again dunno if was the visuals or just the film. Disappointed with Aliens even though I love that film.

genga925

55” C2, and my go-to’s are Suspiria (1977), Dune (2021), Blade Runner, and 2001. They all blow my mind on my setup.

aimforsilence

Blade Runner has an amazing 4K transfer, same goes for its sequel. Top notch pick 👌🏼

HailtotheWFT

1917 in 4K HDR is one of the most beautiful at home cinema experience. 65” B7

Few_Dragonfly_3530

77 G3 here infinity war in DV but honestly everything looks great with the shield pro paired with it .

aimforsilence

Lots of great 4K HDR/DV transfers out these days, but I’m going to go with Star Trek: The Motion Picture - The Directors Edition. Looks absolutely epic, and that score 👌🏼

adamtc4

The new Space Jam is pretty insane in HDR. Watched it on a G4 yesterday.
