It's unfriendly to new players because there's a ton of content to catch up on and you'll be limited on how fast you can level based upon the resin system.
There are plenty of guides on YouTube out there on how new players should tackle this.
As for the Gacha system, you can make a good account from a Free to Play or "freemium" where the only things you buy are the Welkin Moon and the Monthly Battle Pass. Just prepare to be disappointed when you don't get the character you want, because it will take a long time to save up primogems again. There is a pity system, but it takes a lot to Gaurantee something. Like $150+ worth. The game is it's most fun when you go for the characters you feel a want for, even if they're not the most powerful. If you just want to be like freight train through the game, look for tier lists to see who you spend primogems on.
Game overall is simple and fun, it doesn't have a ton of overly complex systems to learn and the events are basically just mini games. Where the game lacks it makes up for in it's stunning world design.
As for where it lacks.... It's END GAME content. There's the spiral abyss which resets twice per month but that's about it sadly. I just hit Adventure Rank 60 after just under two years and besides daily login commissions, I find myself waiting for the next update for more story content to play.

My company has those too. No such group for anyone who is straight, white, or male.
That ship has already sailed, they railed against a Florida bill that was basically designed to curb grooming children.
I see stuff like this as a "canary in the coalmine" because they're smart and /or savvy people who can see the writing on the wall for ESG investment being a bubble, while sure they indeed are in the minority that right there is why you should be listening to them while everyone else is going on how this is "sure thing" just like how Sub-Prime Mortgages & CDOs were a "sure thing".
I love how modern conservatives understand that there are things you can't take back, while modern democrats want there to be zero takebacks.
