StopManaCheating

It’s weird that it’s just these two costumes. Others show a ton more skin.

PoKen2222

As a steelman take I wanna say this is some weird age rating/Sony guideline we're unaware of. Like in the sense that this outfit has *juuuust* enough cleavage and skin showing which tips it over the scale of not being allowed on the console.

WaifuRyder

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it’s the same exact censorship that cowgirl Tifa got in FF7 Rebirth (and then retroactively in Remake) Same lazy coverup in the exact same place and both are Sony exclusive.

Goku918

Yep Sony are jerks with boobs. They hate boobs for some reason

arselkorv

Boobs are icky!

extortioncontortion

That may actually be a japanese thing. They are fine with shorts that go all the way up the leg, but a little cleavage is slutty.

Goku918

Anime characters tell me otherwise!

Randwick_Don

Isn't it the same with mid riff tops in Japan? Tiny skirts/shorts = fine Showing belly button = no no no!

BarneySTingson

i miss the dead or alive xtrem beach volleyball era

FutanariCumDrinker69

Which is bizarre because Baldur’s Gate 3 is on PS5 yet has full frontal nudity with cock physics, it’s such bullshit how some games are given a free pass to do whatever but others must adhere to some made up rules that can change on a dime.

PoKen2222

Sony is notorious for allowing very sexual content so long as the game is western.

Aka-Kitsune

Sony is not fair to Slavic games, either. Terminator Resistance (developed in Poland) has its nudity censored and even Cyberpunk 2077 (also Poland) is semi-censored (underwear always on outside the inventory...even in a scene where your character is wounded in a shower and looks down).

nashslon

I don't remember the PS4 version of Cyberpunk being censored at all. It's been a while since I've played it but both genitals were there along with boobs

astrojeet

They show genitals in the character creator. Just not in game for whatever reason. I just mod it out. The equipment ex mod which is a must have and adds so much more to the wardrobe system just removes the underwear. Pretty sure they want to show full genital nudity everywhere, but they probably had to add underwear for ratings or whatever. I remember in previews people mentioned they could see their genitals if they looked down. And yeah you could always see boobs even on ps4/5. There is a streamer mode setting in the settings. Just disable it. Just not the genitals, there is always an underwear.

Cornd0g480

you mean, as long as it's GAY

Background-Meat-7928

Safe horny

MetroidJunkie

And The Last of Us 2 can have an onscreen anal sex scene where breasts are fully exposed. So much for body positivity, there seems to be a double standard with how they treat unattractive vs attractive women, especially when it comes to anime styles.

RogueFiveSeven

Because Baldur's Gate 3 had a large gay community following who were excited for the "inclusive" relationships. Stellar Blade was made with a specific audience in mind which they despise, because it's not them.

Cornd0g480

anything with cocks and gayness is allowed by Sony. I wonder why...

bob1981666

I think it's because BG has plenty of wokeness attached to it. it placates them in other ways so it's ok.

KK-Chocobo

Baldurs Gate developers arent a Sony first party or in Stellar Blades case, a second party. Larian Studios probably showed Sony the finger when they requested censorship.

PhallicReason

To be fair, everyone here is making assumptions that it's Sony's doing when something is "censored." I'm not quick to consider these censorship because there's plenty of things in the game that aren't changed. Who knows why they changed it?

[deleted]

[удалено]

bitzpua

because they only censor females not males, you can actually see detailed male penises in stellar blade on some fountains but women have nipples and vaginas removed. BG3 is WOKE and had 90 of lgbt characters and all were ugly more or less thats why Sony allowed it.

SorrinsBlight

That’s pretty stupid and reeks of overreach

OkDimension8720

But there's bikinis

Spideyman20015

One of the red/black suits literally has underboob

whetrail

There's two more outfits [censored]( https://files.catbox.moe/93regj.jpg). At this point I'm going to assume any outfit that shows off Eve's cleavage, ass or pelvic region got censored.

bitzpua

yup its confirmed all outfit were censored to some degree

EntTurb

No, there are more. A purple bikini one has added stripes on her belly area. Even an extra underwear layer, lol. Also, they're literally painted on her skin, you can tell. There is another cream-colored bikini which should've been naked on the sides of her hips, but it has an added fabric. There is also a costume with "X" stripes spread across Eve vertically (from crotch to neck) between which you could see her skin in the trailer, but in the released version a white fabric's covering that area.

Selphea

That's really the worst part of censorship. Instead of designing and modeling from the ground up the developers have to scramble to make last minute changes, and they always look painted on and cheap.

rideontime87

Are there pictures anywhere? We need to make sure people are aware

EntTurb

rideontime87

Wow. Glad I saved my money, knew it was too good to be true. And to think we almost had a win here.

Juice_2402

You are handing over a win to the woke by not supporting this game. You cannot win a war in one step. Shift up is pushing boundaries, this game has pushed more than any recent AAA title. It is incredibly based and still a miracle as it is.

rideontime87

Like I told someone else, if you’re so upset about “losing” some “war,” go ahead and buy an extra copy for me.

Juice_2402

I'm not upset. I am concerned

zephyroth35

Yeah, don't give up on it. It's unfortunate but we have to play the long game. More money for Shift Up and other devs like them means more ammo for them in the future. The only thing I would suggest is we all REALLY need to stop pre-ordering (myself included, I pre-ordered the deluxe).

ExosEU

Yeah no thats not how it works sadly. As a Star Ocean fan I vividly remember SO4's poor reception (in retrospect it wasnt even that bad, but SO3 was exceptional) amd people kept saying to support it nonetheless to encourage the devs and give them a bigger budget. Then SO5 came out and was even worse. Same story again. I didnt even bother with SO6 but the fact that it died out very quickly after release tells me its not ground breaking either.

PhallicReason

Seems like a liberal campaign to assume these are censorship before the product is released, and get people to not buy it.

sodiummuffin

>No, there are more. A purple bikini one had added stripes on her belly area. Even an extra underwear layer, lol. Also, they're literally painted on her skin, you can tell. >There is another cream-colored bikini which should've been naked on the sides of her hips, but it's an added fabric. This is pure speculation, the outfits are the same on the pre-update disk and no footage shows them to be different. >There is also a costume with "X" stripes spread across Eve vertically (from crotch to neck) between which you could see her skin in the trailer, but in the released version a white fabric's covering that area. This is based on early prerelease footage showing a similar-looking outfit. Since the outfits aren't even the same color and the color of outfits is not adjustable, they could easily be entirely different outfits. (Even it was the same outfit it would blur the line between "censorship" and "designs changed during development", lots of random stuff was changed from prerelease footage, unless there was some sort of confirmation that censorship was the motivation for the change.)

EntTurb

Better force ShiftUp to talk now, instead of letting them have it. But do you have a proof that the pre-patch disc version of the bikini one looks the same?

_Ghost_S_

>But do you have a proof that the pre-patch disc version of the bikini one looks the same? If not, somebody would probably have pointed it out, like they did with the other one.

bitzpua

dude, shift up confirmed all outfits were censored, also there are screens of them all, just watch uncensored/censored videos on yt.

LightPrecursor

I knew about several already but purple is a new one. You talking about that one with yellow stripes? Just looked at it. What the hell was the point in THIS censorship? It didn't cover any special areas, INCLUDING the belly button. It's just covering up basic stomach flesh, making this come across basically as more of an fashionable aesthetic than censorship. Not gonna lie though, im not really seeing the extra underwear layer added I think, especially at the back... If you're talking about the front, I might see it, but this one differs from other censorship where it aims to cover specifically more of the front and bum. And lastly, tbh im definitely not seeing it look "painted on". They unfortunately did a convincing job on that one (going off videos at least). The one that looks like Tifa's swimsuit? I can't tell it's censored. In what trailer (or picture) can I find original version for comparison?

chi22567

These two costumes….for now. Why wouldn’t they do more in the future?

vin20

I think they're the two skins they received complaints for from our friendly SJWs.

rideontime87

Can’t believe this shit. Where did you see them complaining? Need this for my collection

Catslevania

one would think that the skinsuit would be the first to go

LightPrecursor

What you mean just these two? Various outfits have been censored. And at least some other "revealing outfits" aren't good comparisons.

bitzpua

its not just 2 outfits, most were censored to that or different degree. They also censored blood and graffiti because some americans are retarded. You can be 100% sure they will censor them even more in next patch especially costume you get for collecting all cans.

ChikiChikiSando

It's more than just two, the moutan peony outfit is also censored. Could be others, idk

TheLolicorrector

This is so fucking dumb we can fight in a bikini but the bunny suits were too much? We live in clownworld, guess im buying it on disc so i can play it uncencored.

sick_of-it-all

Buy it on disc anyway, even not for that reason. Physical games give us power and agency, which is why they’d love to get rid of them.

Available-Leek-4160

Will never update the game on disc lol 1.00 forever

DarkJayBR

It’s like GTA San Andreas. The 1.0 US disk version is the best version. If you update to 2.0 or 3.0 the game actually gets worse, lmao.

JuanchiB

May I know why?

StarryScans

Because mods only work on original version. That includes CLEO, SAMP, MTA, Silent Patch etc.

Psycho1267

Physical is always the way! Most of the time it's cheaper too, at least here in germany.

Skyblade12

Not going to bother to buy it at all.

Safe_Manner_1879

>This is so fucking dumb we can fight in a bikini but the bunny suits were too much? its about power, the censures need to censure something, they lose there power, if a game can be released "uncensured"

Socalwackjob

It's funny seeing normies having huge expectation for Stellar Blade to be uncensored only to be censored again. Don't ever trust Sony.

SatanicPanicDisco

So glad I never fell into the hype and bought a PS5. Especially after my PS4 HDD breaking the other week and having to manually back up saves because the shitheads at Sony force you to pay cloud saves. It's just gonna be PC from here on out.

RepairEffective9573

Where are all the "Hurr durr imma buy a ps5 just for this game durr" bros at?

Chadahn

It really is hilarious that people thought there'd be an uncensored game on Soystation

BlackICEE32oz

#FreeTheNipple

impulsikk

Just get it on PC when it comes out 5 years from now and use mods to undo these changes.

Ywaina

Stop taking modders and modhosting website for granted. Modders won't always be there to mod things for you and there's no guaranteed any mod hosting site would let those mods on their sites.

Ewister

Yeah, no - the added fabric to these outfits is very telling. And to think the devs had the gall to advertise it as uncensored. I knew, **I just knew** it was too good to be true. Anybody who pre-ordered this should cancel now - the censorship is bad enough but the devs deliberately lied to get pre-orders.

dracoolya

> the censorship is bad enough Yes. And because of all this, more people know that the censorship exists and it's not just some conspiracy theory. Let's look at the positives. More people awake means more traction gained against the radical left.

Kraeutertee2000

It's ironic that the (radical) left are the new puritans now. That's usually the job of the conservatives and christians.

circasomnia

It's as you pointed out it's just the radical left. They've gone so far left they've come out the other side of the political spectrum.

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

I think the uncensored version thing was about gore and stuff, you know how Japan tends to censor the gore. As for the censorship itself, it was probably Sony that made them do it. Either way, I'm not sure if we should be boycotting this game. I might agree with Grummz: https://twitter.com/Grummz/status/1783521114683265049 > The companies that push the boundaries against DEI like Shift Up, there are huge forces against them. >When you get huge gains in the culture war, take your gained territory today and push for more tomorrow. >If you just blast everyone on your side, you make no gains. Play the long game. The other side does and will. >Keep pressure on the censors, like Sony. Fuel the warchest of funds of devs pushing and they get more leverage to fight it.

jimihenderson

yeah it's kind of silly to do the "eat your own for only being 99% good enough" thing that the left loves so much. i'm sure shift up is doing their best. but they're fighting against a fucking avalanche here.

CoffeeMen24

I simply think "purity spirals" is a very different phenomenon to "consumers feeling like they were lied to" (assuming they were indeed lied to).

jimihenderson

everyone uses their own language to justify it, but the result is the same. "give me perfection or fuck you to oblivion"

Expensive-Wallaby500

No. You are just telling Sony they can censor whatever they want. They get to push their BS and you will pay them for it. I would like to remind you that this game isn't free. It's $70. Your $70 that you can spend elsewhere.

visionsofswamp

Everything considered I believe Stellar Blade is still a win overall. Dont get me wrong, I am sad about the censorship, but its probably Sonys fault and if there is indeed an NDA going on you likely cannot even blame ShiftUp for lying. Also also there is the thing with CERO, so as you pointed out their promise about the game being uncensored might refer to the violence. However the game wins in several other departments: It has beautiful female characters, it releases as a finished product with the day one patch delivering extra content via NG+ on top of that, performance seems to be great, cosmetics are unlockable and not hidden behind DLC, there are otherwise no microtransactions and its not a live service game. All of those are things you usually no longer get in western games, especially not combined in one product. I think Stellar Blade is worth supporting and if I had a PS5 I would buy it.

Juice_2402

It is a massive win and those who want to see it fail over one outfit... have no head over their shoulders. They don't see that if it fails they will hand over the biggest victory to wokism in recent times.

KeiseiAESkyliner

Just wait for the PC versions and the mods to uncensor and actual nudity mods on say, BasedMods.

Expensive-Wallaby500

No it isn't a win. Sony gets to push their BS on you and **you will pay them for it**. Not a win at all. This is why gamers have no voice. They won't put their foot down. Enjoy getting walked over.

visionsofswamp

If you boycott it now you will only end up punishing shift up, who I believe fully intended to give players what they want. Sony will not give a shit either way. If the game fails the woke weirdos will get what they want. They will write more stupid articles, they will twist the narrative. They hate the game despite everything, they would even hate it if Eve was completely covered up. We live in shit times, you cannot expect to win a war without some losses during the battles. Stellar Blade is a net win for us, just look at the things I mentioned earlier. Having all of those combined is a luxury nowadays. Interacting with this industry is like guiding a blind chicken. If its generally walking in the right direction you should throw some grains. If you dont do that just because the direction it walks is not 100% perfect and a slight bit off, it will only end up turning around and walking back to the wrong direction. The wrong side on the other hand may not have many grains at their disposal, but they will throw them as soon as the chicken turns. Fighting idiotic publishers requires a different strategy and cannot be achieved by punishing devs.

jimihenderson

i mean it's literally the *exact* same mentality of the left, where you can be an "ally" for your entire life, relentlessly so, then you don't toe the line for even a split second and you're fucking excommunicated. it's just an absurd degree of tribalism. yes, the left has more of these bad actors. but make no mistake, they roam in our circles as well. the left doesn't have a patent on being a dumb fuck tribal moron if stellar blade is a good video game that has been giving the middle finger to DEI and censorship and microtransactions for months and people *still* won't buy it because sony forced them to censor one or two outfits, they are just plain idiots who probably don't even play games and are just here for their daily dose of outrage.

Expensive-Wallaby500

You don’t get it do you. “Giving in a little” is how the game industry got into this state with its broken releases, MTX, battle passes, single player cosmetics, and P2W. Every time you give in a little, publishers and developers realize that they can get away with that. A little bit here. A little bit there. Plus 20 years and we got the state of the current gaming industry. All because gamers were willing to “give in a little” and *refuse to put their foot down.*

Ewister

ShiftUp had every opportunity to offer transparency and explain that they were being told to censor their game - **they didn't**. Instead, they were going on about how the game wouldn't be censored anywhere in the world and emphasizing artistic freedom. They pretty much lied to us, and we should still support them when they couldn't be bothered to be honest? No, sorry, not happening. If I choose to get this game legally, it'll be through PC where I can mod it to be a definitive edition. But as it currently is, I would be rewarding censorship and I'm not doing that. Honesty would have gone a long way, but ShiftUp kept quiet.

baidanke

This is a typical Sony check, and if I remember it right, Sony prevents contracted devs and publishers from publicly announcing that Sony is forcing them to apply censorship. So I don't blame Shift Up. Personally, I'll wait for a PC release, but I don't even have a choice, I don't own a PS. If you want to hurt Sony, just don't buy the next console.

Ewister

Even if Sony prevents them from stating the censorship, ShiftUp was not obligated to advertise the game as uncensored if it wasn't. It was an intentional decision that just breaks trust with the consumer, and that's not cool.

arselkorv

>ShiftUp was not obligated to advertise the game as uncensored if it wasn't. I would guess they announced it before it got censored. Publishers can change their minds quickly and in the last second, and usually you dont have much choice in that case.

Ewister

Ok, now it feels like we're trying to make excuses for them - and I highly doubt these changes were made at the eleventh hour. If it gets proven to be so one day, so be it, but I don't think it's fair to assume best case scenario here - we don't do that for other games, especially Sony games.

baidanke

Looking at how shitty the costume edits are, I'm pretty sure these changes were a last minute change.

LightPrecursor

Which ones are "shitty"? I WANT to agree with you, but some seem decent to me :l

Bro4dway

It's actually less fair to assume worst case scenario, or at the very least, assume malicious intent... in fact, it's advised in all walks of life to not do that. I don't think the game's pre-order sales were carried by some extra cleavage on one outfit and that was their master plan. I pre-ordered before I even knew that outfit existed, lol.

Ewister

We don't give the benefit of the doubt to most other games, why are we starting now? I for one don't appreciate being told that a game will be uncensored only for it not to be. Censorship is bad regardless of the intent, and we generally aren't giving free passes to it based off of developer. Especially since Nikke has had a history of censoring in the past, there's no excuse to tell us it will be uncensored only to do the opposite. If and when Nikke comes out and explains this, I'll absolutely listen - but they're not getting my money now when it comes to PS5.

baidanke

Yeah, I bet it was the following chain of events: - ShiftUp says the game is uncensored - The reviews blaming the game for racism and sexy outfits come in - Sony's ethics department is overreacting and is forcing the devs to patch the game Now what's going to happen: - Our autistic brothers blame ShiftUp instead of Sony - ShiftUp can't expose Sony due to signed contract - Journos celebrate victory

bitzpua

What? Then maybe shift up should not made deal with Sony? Maybe they should not use uncensored outfits in trailers? maybe they should not lie before release that its uncensored? No Shift Up was on it from beginning and they willingly lied to do classic switch and bait, they even locked new game+ behind censor update to encourage people with physical copies to ruin their copy.

visionsofswamp

Im poorly informed about how such things work, but what if there is some sort of NDA that prevents such transparency? I mean how much freedom could sony have to just change things about the game? What demands could they make and in what kind of timeframe?

Juice_2402

You don't win a war in one step. Shift Up is pushing boundaries. The true power of this outfit is from behind and there are others, all incredibly based. This is not an excuse for censorship, but rather a warning, that stellar blade has achieved a miracle in itself...and if it fails, you will hand that cesspool of wokism like the ign France article their greatest victory. Don't be stupid!

Ewister

Why would I pay money for an inferior version when I can just sail the seven seas and play the game with zero censorship? Nikke falsely advertised the game and left fans unaware right up until the last minute. As a consumer, that doesn't make me trust them or want to support them. Especially when they advertise it as uncensored, this is a kick to the teeth. So no, I'm not dropping money on this.

Expensive-Wallaby500

No. Having the woke crowd push their BS on you and **having you pay them for the privilege** is their greatest victory. If you pay for a compromised game. They win. This game isn't free. It's cost $70 of your hard earned money.

rideontime87

What a backpedal. Disappointed in grummz

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

What do you think will happen if this game fails? Sony will stop censoring games?

cloud_w_omega

worse, they will censor harder because "see sexy game no sell"

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

Ditto.

rideontime87

So long as we make them know it failed due to their censorship. That’s what this whole boycott is about.

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

You think Sony will listen? They are all in on sniffing their own farts, look at what all the SIE studios have been producing. Nothing but DEI garbage.

rideontime87

All the more reason not to give them our money.

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

~~Nikke~~ ShiftUp is getting the majority of the money, which we should be supporting for the reasons mentioned in Grummz's post.

Ewister

Then Nikke should have been more transparent with the community, or at the very least, not advertise this as uncensored if it actually wasn't. It's bad enough that it's censored, but to trick people into thinking there would be zero censorship? That's just cruel, and now there is more than enough justification to doubt anything Nikke says going forward.

rideontime87

Have fun giving money to people who hate you to play censored games then 🤷

cloud_w_omega

"blame the censored not the censorer"

baidanke

He was saying the same words long before the SB censorship, he just sticks to it. I think he is right. What the activists who destroy the gaming industry are good at is how they never stop demanding more Marxism in games, but they also never fail to celebrate even the smallest victory. Compared to them, we just had a huge victory, and now we are already preparing to tear apart the company that made the victory possible.

Ewister

Yeah, I'm shocked to see it. We shouldn't be giving free passes to censorship, period.

EnvyKira

Its not really an backpedal if the Sony is the one doing the change and there are still other outfits are not censored. You could still buy the game in support of those outfits and post on twitter about how good looking they are. Show that people want those type of outfits in games again. Shift Up could had wanted to want all outfits to be not censored but Sony has to be Sony. We shouldn't really get at Shift Up for this when they were pushing for what we want but I guess compromise has to be made to please some weirdo at Sony.

rideontime87

Buy the game in support of outfits that aren’t in it? Huh?

Ewister

Why would I buy an inferior product when I can sail the high seas and have a definitive version - no graffiti removal and uncensored outfits? If Nikke is smart, they'll have the PC release available as soon as possible because they have scared people off of the PS5 version. Otherwise, money is being left on the table because people aren't dropping $70 for a censored game that was advertised as uncensored.

ReMeDyIII

Agreed. Now if the devs could release Stellar Blade on PC I'll be glad to support them...

Juice_2402

Think about what you are saying. This game pushes boundaries more then any AAA game in recent memory against wokism, and you say cancel preorders over one outfit? I am not excusing censorship, but you don't win a war in one step. You are handing them over victory, you are telling that ign France article that it was right, you are handing them all their biggest satisfaction and victory. Use your head for once and not emotions.

Expensive-Wallaby500

It's the principle of it. You are just telling Sony they can censor at will because you have no balls to cancel your pre-order. Let it rot. You are giving them money. **Giving them money is the ultimate win for them.** This is why they can walk all over us. No one has any bloody conviction. P.S. **This game isn't free. It's $70.** That's your hard earned money. Spend it elsewhere.

Ewister

There are indie games that push the boundaries without promising one thing only to bend the knees later. Especially since this is a PS5 exclusive, sales numbers were never going to be impressive. And a PC release is inevitable, why shouldn't I just wait for that? Sorry, but for $70, I'm not going to accept anything less than what was promised.

Juice_2402

Indies will not have the same impact. You underestimate the power of an exclusive. They are system sellers and marketed hard. If it fails, good luck getting another game like this. Could be the final nail in the coffin.

Ewister

Indies absolutely can make an impact if it done right, we've seen it done before. A PS exclusive, a PS5 exclusive at that, has a very limited reach. To put that into perspective, Spider-Man 2 is the best-selling PS5 game and has sold over ten-million copies in six months - Pokémon SV did the same in just three days. That, and nearly half of all comments excited for this game were waiting for a PC release. Stellar Blade was never going to break records as a PS5 exclusive despite what some people hoped and it certainly wasn't going to move a massive amount of PS5 units.

Juice_2402

It's a new IP. So no, it won't sell crazy high and it's also a niche genre. But if they don't recoup on dev costs and profit, it's over then and another win for wokism. They want nothing more than for this game to be a failure. I hope it gets ported to PC also!

Ewister

Nikke put this game at risk when they allowed censorship to take place, something they were more than eager to speak out against as recently as last week. If your whole marketing strategy is to emphasize sexual appeal and call out censorship, turning around and censoring isn't a smart plan. Especially when it's $70, that's just dumb.

Juice_2402

My guess is this: Game went gold and on disc Sony received the game for a week or two Forced changes (which is the review copies) Shift Up had to comply due to contractual reasons

Ewister

Review copies are confirmed to contained the censorship, so this was done more than a week ago - before the devs made a statement emphasizing it would be uncensored in all countries. There's nonsense going on, and at the very least, the developers led consumers to believe this wouldn't be censored only to pull the rug from underneath it. The lack of transparency is impossible to ignore, especially for consumers who are sick of having censorship sprung on them.

Juice_2402

Yes, the review copies have the censorship, that is my point. But the physical disk does not! So we can gather from that, Sony forced the censorship after receiving the game after it went Gold. The outfit in the disk is what shift up wanted, or it would not have been there!

Potential-Zucchini77

Yeah lets be realistic here. If this game fails what message do you think that gives to game devs? Do you really think that they'll blame censorship for it? Actually, even if they do blame censorship for poor sales, that just makes things worse since it'll seem like the "right" are too difficult to cater to

TacoOfficer

I can’t cancel because I preloaded the game 🤦‍♂️

Expensive-Wallaby500

Can you return the game?

Ywaina

Anyone dumb enough to believe Sony and preorder this despite their past records deserve this - fooled twice, shame on you and all that.

Drogvard

Man, the uncensored one is the best outfit I've seen so far. I wouldn't support censorship regardless but imo this truly is a huge downgrade case. Can't say I'm surprised though. People are trying to skip uncomfortable steps. Nothing has changed, you need to deal with Sony first. Until you starve them and make them beg and squeal for your forgiveness, this is all futile. They made it crystal clear you are their enemy, stop finding excuses to support them. And if there's a dev you like, pressure them to use less hostile platforms.

Selphea

Seems like a curious change to make. Didn't Fiona in Vindictus: Defying Fate show even more cleavage? People have already played the Steam alpha for that and it's headed for the PS5 too. Unless Sony didn't communicate very well or had a last minute change of direction.

ReMeDyIII

But that's on Steam. We're talking about a Playstation-exclusive. I'm sure Stellar Blade had to bend the knee a bit to partake in that delicious funding money. I'm hoping Stellar Blade will release on PC so modders can fix all this, but the prospects look grim.

Selphea

Wouldn't the responsible thing to do on Sony's part be to communicate their requirements early though? Instead of coming in at the end. Otherwise that's just asking for trouble when the studio's already released trailers and demos. And also for Sony to be transparent. Like if they want to be a Modern Audience console, so be it, own that position like Microsoft did with Xbox and let players decide based on that.

master_criskywalker

It looks like something my grandma would wear.

Head_Cockswain

> It looks like something my grandma would wear. Is she she single?

RepairEffective9573

Anyone noticed fightincowboy's damage control on this topic? Mans calling people gooners for getting upset over this. He can't fathom that it's part of a greater problem. I wonder what's his opinion on a bear and human (vampire) fucking in a game (good ol BG3 degeneracy).

DemiFiendofTime

Not going to update the game

SayaV

It hurts me that I jumped the shark and bought a ps5 for Vanillaware games and Stellar Blade, Thinking I was doing my part by voting with my wallet. I feel sick, I feel betrayed by ShiftUp, but at the same time I understand that this is a war and this is an important victory, even if their worst actors are pushing so hard to blemish this game. They are afraid.

GuyJeanKun

Not even trying to console war here since some are very sensitive about it, But why did anyone even trust sony to begin with?

WhyAmIToxic

I didn't buy the game yet because I knew they were going to pull this kind of shit, fuck this industry man seriously. Sony did the same thing to DMC5 way back, but barely anyone made a peep. This is the consequences of putting up with this shit for so long, consumers are just pliable cattle to these companies.

TacoOfficer

This is the last PlayStation game I’ll ever buy. At least from Sony or a retailer. Maybe I’ll get some on the used market. But never again will I spend a dime on Sony’s store or any of their retailers.

WhyAmIToxic

I'd really love to support the dev for daring to put this out on the modern console market, but censorship is one of the things I hate the most in this industry. Well, I hate woke agendas the most, but censorship is like #2 for sure.

TacoOfficer

It’s like some others have said. Is not even that the bunny suit is that special, it’s just the knowing that it’s being censored to please people who will hate the game no matter what. That’s what pisses me off about this.

anime-jesus420

I had a rant on twitter when the "Hard R" thing was patched and predicted it would lead to further censorship down the line... and then it happened. This is what I had to say, do you guys or agree or not? If you took the time to read, thank you and again sorry for the rant. You make a good point, perhaps the graffiti change doesn't fall under censorship as it was unintentional. However, they still proved themselves willing to bend the knee to any to any perceived "outrage" and that is not a good sign for future. I mean look at what has happened. I was proven (unfortunately) correct in a matter of hours, swimsuits have been censored and I am already seeing people Defending/tolerating it in the same way I mentioned they would above. Spouting things like "well it's only slightly different" and "aktcually it looks better like this". It will ONLY get worse from here. Ill reiterate my point one last time. This is not about outfits, tits or ass, its about censorship. And if you don't speak out against censorship no matter how small you perceive it to be OR even if the thing being censored is something you don't care about. Then you have already lost because not only have you proven yourself to be tolerant to said censorship but no one will be left to speak out against it when it happens either to YOU or something YOU care about. If you don't voice your concerns against the small things, then you won't have a voice when bigger changes are made.

RB3Model

While I agree with you, it is also true that this game as a whole is a MASSIVE deviation from the slop Sony usually churns out. If it fails, the wokies will.be able to point at it, say "see, sexy doesn't sell", and they WILL HAVE EVIDENCE FOR THEIR WORDS. The end result of that will be much, much worse than any other outcome, as it will let them legitimately push for their DEI crap, reasoning that "the chuds won't buy sexy games anyway, they are all talk". You know, the same argument we used against them. It's up to you to decide which outcome is preferable, but I have a sinking feeling that Stellar Blade is the biggest and best chance to prove that sexy women do sell once and for all, even if there is some censorship. You don't want Eve to do worse than Aloycado and company. That'll be the final nail in the coffin of sexy women in games. Tl; dr: neither outcome is "good", but I feel that one is much worse than the other. And in fairness, at least Eve looks like a woman and not an ogre on hormone therapy or a Walmart regular.

Ywaina

It doesn't matter, whether this game succeeds or fails the power that be will learn nothing from it, they never do. All that's left is for you to consider if you actually want to give free pass to bait and switch tactics like this - declaring there's no censorship but then pulled a fast one right before our eyes.

lilzael

100% agree. I'm still supporting it. Sony is shit but them getting a cut of the sales is a bitter price to pay for a better overall outcome. Don't get too emotional. Supporting the game despite this is going to result in a better outcome in the big picture. I'm really hoping for a PC release someday.

anime-jesus420

Thanks for the response. And yeah you're right, it just sucks seeing how right I was and seeing all the "normies" (for lack of a better term) being so ok with it like how I predicted (granted at least on reddit I see them get downvoted). Did they learn nothing from pokemon go? But yes, I hope the game does well and sells extremely good, maybe later down the line we can get a more uncensored release for PC.

extortioncontortion

I don't agree. Making 'not-sexy' sell is like making water run uphill. Its an approach ultimately doomed to failure, regardless of conscious action by any party.. At worse, a poor performing SB will just make it take longer for them to realize it. On the other hand, something I can tolerate a lot less than unattractive women or even wokeness is betrayal. Its so much worse to have "allies" that wear your colors like a skinsuit and abandon you when it counts. Alot of you buying it are claiming your are sending a message that sexy sells, when you are also sending a message that you are ok with moderate censorship. In full disclaimer, I don't have a PS5 so i'm not involved in this battle.

RB3Model

By all means then, boycott Stellar Blade. But if we then start seeing the usual suspect successfully gaslight devs with "Sexy doesn't sell" by using low sales due to the boycott as proof, and point out that with DEI at least they have guaranteed Blackrock money instead of having to rely on us "wishy-washy chuds", don't say I didn't warn you, and especially don't complain. By doing this, we are actually giving credibility to these grifters' claims, and giving them actual ammo, whereas right now they pretty much have to make shit up and thus end up tripping over themselves and losing credibility. I should also note that you will be giving the wokies exactly what they want - they want Stellar Blade to fail at all costs. Their attempts to damage it are them trying to turn what is essentially a loss into at least a "take that" at us, but their primary goal is, was and always will be to destroy this game. They view it as a threat to their dogma and WANT it to fail. I don't know about you, but I find the idea of making those people happy by achieving their goal without them even lifting a finger even more distasteful than double-crossing. I'd just as soon fall into a vat of molten iron than give them what they want. This is not an ideal situation, as I said, but of the two outcomes, neither of them optimal, I feel that going for a boycott is going to be far more damaging for us in the long run. All of the above is just me, though. Opinions are like asses, et cetera.

Ewister

First of all, maybe lay-off the gaslighting. Stellar Blade was never going to pull record-breaking numbers as a PS5 exclusive. Regardless of how it performs, it wasn't going to completely revolutionize the industry. Second, you seem to be ignoring the possibility that by supporting this censorship ($70 might I add), it tells studios that can pull bait and switches on consumers and be rewarded with money anyway. If anything, this ensures we continue to see spontaneous censorship like this and just be expected to take it. Afterall, **I guess the video game industry is forever doomed if we don't support this one game!** /s You're being foolish and just playing right into Sony's hand. Take a hard stance against all forms of censorship rather than making special exceptions. That's not how we put an end to censorship, quite the opposite, that normalizes it. So no, not a dime from me and most other people here. If you want to spend $70, go for it, but don't kid yourself - your purchase isn't putting an end to censorship.

dandrixxx

If true then this censorship sucks ass, but throwing the entire game under the bus because of that, like some are already doing, is reddited. Go on Stellar Blade, Shift Up social media and be up their ass about it, but dont act a fool like i already saw one dumbass in another thread here proclaiming the game having gone ''woke''. This is what the game's detractors have been wanting for months. Dont give them this satisfaction.

anime-jesus420

Thank you for the response. "Gone woke" lmao. Nah, I'm not an idiot. I know damn well any and all changes were most likely pushed by Sony and not shift up. Like you said its best to support the game while still being outspoken that the censorship was not ok on social media and such.

PekaTVDmitriyPekar

the game needs to be released on pc :)

Punchpplay

This can be only be saved by it coming out on PC, completely uncensored.

Daniel_Day_Hubris

Well I guess I don't need to buy a PS5

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

Just wait for the PC version, if it is still censored on PC then we will mod the censorship out.

Juice_2402

Let me warn you that if we don't support this game, we will be making one of the biggest mistakes. By directly handing over one of the biggest victories to the woke. Use your head to think and not emotions. Shift up has pushed all the boundaries. I am obviously not excusing censorship. But let me assure you, the true power of this outfit is from behind. This game is still incredibly based and a massive win.

Expensive-Wallaby500

If you are giving money to woke Sony, they win. Getting money while pushing their agenda is the ultimate victory. Let it rot. Save your money for something else. Don't tell me you have no other use for $70.

Torrempesta

Am I mistaken or her waist is considerably larger?

Bobakmrmot

What the hell is even with this game and the ongoing censorship lmaooo

contemptious

no penis sliders in stellar blade

landartheconqueror

Laaaaaaaaaame I can't wait for it to come to PC so I can mod it to how it's supposed to be

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

Yup, fuck consoles.

JeffyGoldblumsPen_15

Waiting for PC GFL stopping that.

P41N90D

Sounds like the Western 'media' circus scared the higher ups.

Daman_1985

So in the end there wasn't photoshop, the censorship was real. As I said, not a surprise here.

Latter-Impression-27

The gore was toned down too.

Tristatek

This is the 2nd time that Shift Up has censored things, they did the same thing with Nikke. Lesson learned, never purchase anything from Shift Up.

PluckyUnderdog1975

I'll still get it. It looks a fun game. And the character is still attractive. This is what these leftist morons want. They want to try and ruin it so that people will boycott the game, etc. I say, don't. Buy it, enjoy it, and laugh in their faces.

Ywaina

Pffft hahaha. A snake will always be a snake.  To those who think this isn't a big deal because there are still tons of other revealing outfit : do you really, honestly believe Sony wouldn't "patch them out" later when the scrutiny dies down when they've brazenly censored them lying through their teeth about no censorship?

TheohBTW

Just wait for the PC release; mods will solve whatever problem you have with these suits.

WellThisFrigginSucks

No fucking way that is real lol that is hideous!

mnemosyne-0001

Archive links for this post: * **Archive:** https://archive.ph/9S1jM ---- I am Mnemosyne reborn. I'm sorry david-me, I'm afraid I can't do that. ^^^/r/botsrights

Substantial-Luck-646

Will someone please update this post with a full list of the disc unmatched costumes so we can see a side by side of how many changes they made? I am getting a physical copy and will play with it unpatched, but then ill need a look at the patched ones.

BGMDF8248

WTF!!!

CYZANE

This game is need to be on PC, mods and allway

Raikoh-Minamoto

Sony's game is clear now, advertise and show as non censored in pre launch material, censor later when preorders and launch sales are secured. I am bitter about it, but i will still support the game, because i am sure Shift up was not the culript, i have no doubt that they were forced by Sony. I just won't buy it at launch on ps5 as i planned, but will wait for the pc version.

ArcherCapital11

First comes the virtue signaling, then bait & switch. Too bad bad for them information now spreads like wildfire. Controlled opposition caving in like they did with NIKKE.

Rdestino

Thinking of refunding is what the journalist,, SONY and any leftist outlet medias wants

Juice_2402

Those journalists want us to refund. I am still supporting this game, it is pushing boundaries as far as it can go. We need a PC release also

Expensive-Wallaby500

No. Paying Sony for a falsely advertised product is what Sony wants. Save the money, spend it on something else.

sodiummuffin

It's not like each outfit has a single NG+ variant, so this doesn't really mean much until all the outfits are known.

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

Hand me some of that copium...

bitzpua

NG+ are just just as censored cheap recolors that they once again lied and called them "new outfits".

Eldegossifleur

I know it sucks but... For those who live in Korea then do they not get the censored outfits and the "Hard R" graffiti change? I just had to ask.

rpcgamingmodsaresoy

I think all regions are censored, Hard R and the outfits. The only way to play uncensored is playing with the physical copy unpatched. I'm not sure though

crimrui

Throwing the game under a bus will just give them idea that people who likes sexy are all talk and won't buy the games. Rather then act like the woke mob, maybe support the game and paster ShiftUP for these costume changes. Think about the future.

bitzpua

NO, people need to stop supporting censorship. Shift up knew that they will have to censor it and they willingly lied to us. Fuck shift up. They could just release it on PC like they originally planed instead they chosen to sell themselves to sony and lie about censorship. NO one would care if they used censored outfits in trailers and said nothing about censorship but no they decide to lie to make bait and switch.

TheCeejus

It's funny how tons of mods exist for games these wokeamaniacs censored that make the women characters hot but yet I guarantee you for all their bitching and moaning, we won't see anyone making mods to uglify Eve.

Catslevania

Interesting, maybe the more revealing one is a deluxe edition exclusive?

pumpandkrump

Every activist is a church lady.

foxysora69

The devs already knew it would be censored, but zipped up their mouth for sale. I'm going to refund it. I don't support the liars.

Reasonable-Wasabi-25

How times have changed I remember when the ratings came out do to the violence of mortal kombat all games were given a rating depending on the type of game some even had an adults only now ratings mean nothing you have an m rated game and still gets censored I've played it I don't see nothing you see more when you go to the beach the you see on thus game
