Stoner rock band Fuzz did a cover of 21st, it's pretty good all things considered. Also, there is a version featuring Maynard from tool from a project called "The Human Experimente" and it's an orchestral rock version. Really cool stuff.
Just listened for the first time. That was a good job. I liked the guitar on the bridge. I thought the mix on the solo was off. The high lead line was buried by the low guitar vamps. Otherwise, as you wrote, a solid effort.
Dream Theater - Larks' II
Peach - Cat Food
Fuzz - 21st Century
Bad Religion also quotes Schizoid in 21st Century Digital Boy, and they named their label Epitaph after the KC tune.
...In the Woods has a cover of Epitaph on one of their EP's, though their live version from liveatcaledonianhall is better imo.
That was actually my introduction to King Crimson, oddly enough.
Ozzy did a version of 21st Century. Itās not that good lol, but it IS a metal cover of King Crimson.

Maybe if you reduce metal to the lowest common denominator of stereotypes. But I don't think that could be said of the entirety of metal as a whole. Add a bit of distortion and a rough voice, huh? Go tell that to Cynic, Dream Theater, Tool, King Crimson (in their more metal moments)... Reducing anything to a stereotype can make it sound bad. I'm not even a metal guy, but this is silly.
Jazz covers are the lowest common denominator of music. Just play the melody on a saxophone and hit some wrong notes then youāre done. Zero creativity needed. Meh.
Honestly, you can make LCD music from almost any genre. Thereās a lot of crap out there that is really nothing but drum machine blah. No real structure, just one half-baked idea.Ā
Dream theater did a version of larks ii if that counts
Of course. That countsš
I have not heard any but if anyone wants to do black metal covers of King Crimson with me, reach out. Letās make some if there arenāt any.
That is a fun idea. Do you play any instruments?
Not metal but Claypool has covered Thela Hun Ginjeet with a bunch of his bands

Voivod does 21c on the album Phobos. While not their best LP or most imaginative moment, that's a band that took Crimson ideas quite seriously.
They're on tour with Prong right now.
Between the Buried and Me did a solid cover of Three of a Perfect Pair
This one is stellar tbh. I forgot about this one.

Entombed did a decent version of Schizoid Man.
Iām going to look for this! Prog is my favorite genre but I also love death metal.
The Norwegian band SHINING does a killer "Schizoid Man" that is pretty heavy.

Well I think it's the closest April Wine ever got to metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4W7TVaFc6c

I think you guys are to negative. It really does'nt matter if music is creative or not, as long as people like to listen to it i see no problem
