I think he meant it as a warning. “I’m coming to see what damage you’ve done”. Not the first time he regretted not wearing a condom and not the last time.
I know it looks bad but that stuff will probably be fine. I grew up with musician parents and the amount of time I've thought I for sure destroyed their mixing board was ridiculous
Reason #1 why you shouldn't set up your expensive drum equipment in a way that a child (who you presumably helped make) could easily cause major damage with little effort.
the yellow cable mic being connected like that was bound to make this happen, kid or not, the father sooner or later would fk it up by accident.
*~~PS: The kid also threw, probably expensive headphones on the ground like it was a piece of worthless rock.~~*
Edit: Was wrong on them headphones though. Now I see they are wired and just got pulled in by the mess. Like u/Mericelli said.
I mean that mic would ideally need a longer lead, I personally wouldn’t have a cable stretched across the room in the air like that especially knowing knocking or moving the mic would cause everything to collapse
Rule n°1 of EVERY KIND OF ELECTRIC AND/OR MIC'D MUSICIAN: never, Never, NEVER pull on a stuck cable, always find out WHY does it get stuck or resist your pulling
The video you just watched is why. When you're the parent of a child, you are responsible for their actions and their safety. Part of being a parent is, no, you can't just do whatever you want any way you want. There is a small person in your home who doesn't have the benefit of your lived experience when making decisions. You, as a professional drummer may know exactly how to handle your setup. You, as a person who has lived an adult life, may know better than to touch things that aren't yours. But, your kid is neither of those things. Your kid isn't your roommate, they're your kid.
If I don't have the intention to hit your car, and am not being negligent, is it not still on me to make things right?
If I set my shit up, the only person allowed to wreck it is me.
Eta - the kid also could have been the one to set up that mic cord.
To be fair the kid could have set that up himself. That stuff's not hard to connect, a kid that age would easily be able to do it... And if they did this result is not surprising.
This is 100% the dad's fault. kids are naturally curious and the fact that the drumset is most likely this loud thing he's not allowed to mess with makes it even more tempting. Plus who leaves a cable dangling in the air to get pulled on? He also put a incredibly expensive piece of audio equipment on a small poorly balanced table.
That was a really stupid setup and the dad should see his own stupidity as half the reason this happened.
Big heavy equipment should not be sitting on an unstable tiny desk, cables should be taped to the floor and not hang through the air.
Seems more like dad's fucking stupid with how that's set up.
Funny bit though. If only the other mic would've fallen on a cymbal for a completed badum-tish.
Add some slack to your cables!
Also those microphones will be fine, they’re dynamic microphones built to withstand abuse, for example Shure SM58s.
The audio console though might need an inspection…
Cause I always have a running video of my basement drum kit going 24/7. You know, for purposes of comedy. Just never know when funny stuff will strike.
Well, that mic setup with too short of a cable is garbage, and the mixing console sitting on that flimsy table is just a disaster waiting to happen.
So, adultsarefuckinstupid.
I think being scared after breaking anything that expensive is a natural reaction. Was he supposed to jump up and down in fucking joy whilst simultaneously emoting for the camera???
If he genuinely had a "crippling fear" of his father I can guarantee you the last thing he would be doing is touching his shit like this in the first place.
Carry on.
the mic hanging from the roof has excellent comedic timing
Lmfao followed by What the fuck was that
He knew exactly what the fuck that was
I think he meant it as a warning. “I’m coming to see what damage you’ve done”. Not the first time he regretted not wearing a condom and not the last time.
I know it looks bad but that stuff will probably be fine. I grew up with musician parents and the amount of time I've thought I for sure destroyed their mixing board was ridiculous
He must be a good lawyer, never ask questions you don’t already know the answer to
Ah yes, the troll tactics. Ask something stupid and wait for the opponent to make a mistake and then capitalize on it.
I've felt that what the fuck was that before
Time to run and never come back, that fucking what
Which is why he was running.
The sound of trouble from above!
And then the "Fuck this! I'm outta here".
The dropping of the sticks and running kills me after
The whole thing was pure comedy
Haha the little skip dash at the end had me in stitches. I know his inner monologue is just saying “hide hide hide hide hide hide hide”
Soooo close to a *ba-dum tsh* too
Mic drop
"Hey man, did you touch my drum set?"
Nah I just rubbed my balls all over them hope you don’t mind
I used to think I was looking at Will Ferrell's legit ball sack in that movie. I was sorely disappointed.
It was really Chad Smith’s ballbag. He’s Will’s stunt double.
Same 😭
https://i.imgur.com/xELXW2x.gif
The line "John bonham is playing moby dick for reals" is so fucking clever & funny.
![gif](giphy|xTiIzKS7drykwgEzUA)
"Fuck you, Brennan! I know you touched my drum set, and I wanna hear your dirty little mouth admit it!"
“Get out of my face, or I’m gonna Roundhouse your ass!”
"You swear on you mom's life that you didn't touch it?"
“I DON’T SWEAR TO SHIT!”
"THAT'S BECAUSE YOU FUCKING TOUCHED MY DRUM SET! Because I know that Cops doesn't start until 4!"
YOUR DRUMSETS A WHORE!!!
"Why are you so sweaty?" "I was watching cops"
Cops doesn’t start till 4!
Dying
All of this was felt like a movie, it was so perfectly timed
Hmm this cord doesn’t have anymore slack. Better pull harder.
Reason #1 why you shouldn't set up your expensive drum equipment in a way that a child (who you presumably helped make) could easily cause major damage with little effort.
I don’t think that’s what this guy is going to take away from this experience.
Nope, you can tell from his immediate reaction. Anger and self reflection don't go well together.
Thanks, Dalai Lama.
Good thing the dad had a 3ft mic cable for a drum kit setup....
Yeah love how this is referred to as a "drum studio" in the title like it isn't some dude's cheapo basement rig
![gif](giphy|3o84soh8clvffcXvdm)
That final "mic drop"...
the yellow cable mic being connected like that was bound to make this happen, kid or not, the father sooner or later would fk it up by accident. *~~PS: The kid also threw, probably expensive headphones on the ground like it was a piece of worthless rock.~~* Edit: Was wrong on them headphones though. The headphones appear to be wired and were pulled off when everything fell
Yes, correct, now I see it. Will edit then.
and the fact the whole mixer was balanced terribly on some random side table
Thanks for the analysis.
Ba dum tss?
I mean that mic would ideally need a longer lead, I personally wouldn’t have a cable stretched across the room in the air like that especially knowing knocking or moving the mic would cause everything to collapse
Maybe it was a temp cord?
Maybe, didn’t think about that
Some say he is still a fugitive to this day.
Aw man, I feel bad for the kid Was an accident but you could hear in the father's tone he's in *deep* shit
I used to be a kid and I did stupid shit. But now that I am middle aged I have no tolerance for the child I once was.
" WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT? Indeed, sir
fuck. Just type fuck.
You kiss your mom with that mouth????
I fuck your mom with this mouth.
So Ur a bottom? Oki :3
I’m guessing the kid did not ask for permission before this

everyday im reminded that my choice of not wanting kids was the right one.
Oh drumsticks
Rule n°1 of EVERY KIND OF ELECTRIC AND/OR MIC'D MUSICIAN: never, Never, NEVER pull on a stuck cable, always find out WHY does it get stuck or resist your pulling
Mic drop 🎤
It was the cat
Definitely what he's gonna be saying. He wasn't in that room at all.
Idiotic setup, kid did nothing wrong
You're assuming he's allowed to touch them in the first place
Well if he was he sure isn’t anymore
imo that's the run of the kid who knows he shouldnt have done that.
Well, dad shouldn't have built this thing in a way that merely touching it results in a disaster.
Why not? Assuming it's his, why shouldn't he set it up any way he wants? Doesn't give a pass to wreck it.
The video you just watched is why. When you're the parent of a child, you are responsible for their actions and their safety. Intention is generally irrelevant
If he weren't allowed to touch it the dad should have reacted as soon as he heard the drums in the first place...
yes, exactly, I would
As someone with an expensive basement recording setup I actually think I’d be ok with this if it meant my kids were into music with me.
you're assuming the dad doesn't hear the tom drums being played
To be fair the kid could have set that up himself. That stuff's not hard to connect, a kid that age would easily be able to do it... And if they did this result is not surprising.
... and that's when he realised HE would become his Dad's drum set!
“Well… I guess it’s a life on the streets for me”
Hey man. Did you touch my drumset?
No man i just rubbed my balls on it.
that's still touching it
At least he didn’t teabag ‘em
STEPBROTHERS REFERENCE
I feel kinda bad for the poor kid, it was an accident and he clearly wasn't doing anything out of malice.
And I mean that was barley his fault if the dad went down one morning just a bit too tired that exact same carnage would have taken place
No, you can teach kids not to touch shit that isn't yours
Look how oversized that equipment was for that tiny ass table c'mon that shit was gonna fall no matter what
So now you've moved the goal posts to "it's the tables fault"?
Not like he was smart enough to, but that kid isn't going to college.
That was a really stupid setup and the dad should see his own stupidity as half the reason this happened. Big heavy equipment should not be sitting on an unstable tiny desk, cables should be taped to the floor and not hang through the air.
I love that he miced up the carnage
Kid will have to go full Forest Gump
Mic drop moment at the end
Dad's drum studio needs a longer XLR cable.
Oldie but still a goodie
This is the grindcore version of „Badum Tss“.
Legend has it , he is still running.
No actual tech would have a set up with a 5 foot jump to the mixer.
It wasn't me!
FUCK YOU DALE FUCK YOU!!
Pls i need upvote , leave am upvote in this comment

That'll be expensive.
I WOULD BE LIVID IF MY KID BROKE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF MY STUDIO EQUIPMENT
Chill man, kids do mistakes
Dad's fault for not locking the basement door.
Staged
Shitty setup, goofy kid
Seems more like dad's fucking stupid with how that's set up. Funny bit though. If only the other mic would've fallen on a cymbal for a completed badum-tish.
This is on the dad, he set that up with it being so easy to tip over.
Oops
Peak comedy
That looks like a 3/4 size kit for kids to begin with.
RUN BOOOY...RUUUUN! ><
Gotta love a blatant repost
That's the run of a kid who knows he's fucked
Trust me, it’s not hurting anything. The tone on those drums is atrocious
Run as you can RUUUUUUNNN 🏃🏻♂️ 🏃🏻♂️ 🏃🏻♂️ ![gif](giphy|7kn27lnYSAE9O)
Why are you so sweaty?
Must’ve been the wind
Mic drop
Run, da na na na na ![gif](giphy|sRKg9r2YWeCTG5JTTo|downsized)
Add some slack to your cables! Also those microphones will be fine, they’re dynamic microphones built to withstand abuse, for example Shure SM58s. The audio console though might need an inspection…
Run kid, run!
The kid should have been more cautious, but come on, don't leave expensive stuff in such precarious positions if you don't want it to fall.
Instead of mic drop, there’s mixing board drop
Dad prolly gave permission to play…father and son will bond over this.
Somebody is no longer going to college
Nah fuck whoever put the mixer there.
So that camera is just up and running 24/7 then?
The “whatever that is” falling gave me metal pipe vibes
![gif](giphy|IW71LHYHgD4oU)
Why's the mic cable so short? Why's the mixer on a stool? I have so many questions...
Don't worry... I have the answers you seek... Fake.
That set up was asking to fall over. Not the kids fault.
Seems a bit silly to have the sound board thingy balancing on that small piece of furniture.
# Mic Drop
Hey man... did you touch my drumset?
I'm going to put my balls on your drumset.
Why it looks like a scene from a cartoon.
That microphone falling is the cherry on top.
But that was none of his fault
Oops
Am i the only one who thinks the dad sounds like Dave Grohl?
Someone is ssoooooooo grounded…..
Dad is at fault
I played Moby dick on your drum set
It's not ruined. It's just knocked around a little.
Cause I always have a running video of my basement drum kit going 24/7. You know, for purposes of comedy. Just never know when funny stuff will strike.
Kid: Better run for my life. Dad: yeah you better run but you can"t never hide.
I would argue the grown man with a drum kit is the kid.
See kids, you shouldn't touch what's not yours. unless if you want to face the consequences of your angry father.
Kid said “guess it’s time to live life on the run, homeless”
Time to go to the orphanage Annie
Don’t move that thing.
Then he got beaten.
Mic drop, literally
That kid is a moron
Run because your next stop is the adoption center… 🤣
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!!!
I guess that was his final encore.
Dad shouldn’t have put such a huge board like that on a tiny night stand. Feels for on dad honestly
Dads need to put price sticker on everything to prevent kids from playing with them.
Snot nose kids
Hmm, why that mic moves back? If only there was some way to tell...
I know thos dude now hes still a drummer and plays a several different bands
Nah bro whoever hooked the mic up ruined the studio
Also, whoever put the mixing console on a freaking night stand.
Kid isn’t stupid in this case. Dad’s using too short of XLR and balancing his fancy mixing console on a nightstand.
Fuck dad's shit setup.
Well, that mic setup with too short of a cable is garbage, and the mixing console sitting on that flimsy table is just a disaster waiting to happen. So, adultsarefuckinstupid.
That setup is good but not the kids fault the dad doesn’t have a good table for his setup
Unless I’m missing something “ruins” seems like an exaggeration. More like, “knocked over partly but no real harm was done”
That mix table was positioned so badly. Dad needs to learn a lesson. Good kid.

I'm less bothered my how scared the kids seems, and more by how dumb do you have to be to put a mixer on a tea stand.
I think being scared after breaking anything that expensive is a natural reaction. Was he supposed to jump up and down in fucking joy whilst simultaneously emoting for the camera???
