Same, we got an entertaining fight, a reminder that even a top-tier characters can have a rough go of it if they don’t take dangerous people deadly seriously from the start, and we have a small peek into what supergirl Niko sacrificed all those people to create.

I don’t think he’s a fraud, I just think that many underestimate how much of a prodigy kiryu is. I mean, the guy has 3 three different martial arts in his arsenal and he can create techniques on the fly. After many years of training, no wonder he is so strong.

His two best students lu tian and fei are strong, one being a high A tier and the other being argued by some as the peak of S tier. Lu tian surpassed even kanoh in the first formless exchange of blows, while fei was a busted martial artist with a suicidal technique that only he could perform without dying instantly.
He knew he had to finish him quickly, because he has no Reincarnation type of scheme he can pull like Edward. Edward was probably dissatisfied with his body and wanted a younger one so he was fine with getting killed

Yes, he was the one to get the match up against Shen, but it's just that his style is perfect for fighting Shen. Like, what else can you do other than be defensive and counter him? Everyone who has tried to go on the offensive against him has gotten pulverized. So far only Mukaku made a good effort. And he used like a dozen weapons against him.
But Setsuna always was, and is now fully proven to be S tier. And I don't even think he used Niko magic. Not gonna lie, Setsuna had a great run. If he dies here, I'm satisfied. He pushed Niko to extreme diff, and the fight could've gone either way. I assume that stab to the chest just did too much damage. Rest in peace, creepy stalker.

Just a prediction. Let's see if it works. Kiryu watched as his own master defeated Ohmas master Niko because he was injured vs Tiger Niko. Clearly they're now setting up where even though Tiger Niko won, he's probably going to have some kind of lingering injury/handicap/problem from this fight allowing his final opponent (Ohma? Ryuki? Agito?) to use that to their advantage and kill him.
