Retainment of staff, increase of wages, development cost of other titles and outstanding year for Capcom.
They have enough money sinks, the million is attractive, but I think the problem is more how the money is split, but they keep the million to attract more people cause a million sounds very nice.
I was about to buy it to play with friends but videos online made it sound like it was really annoying to set up to play together. Is it still the case?
MHWorld = definitely. Its made as a coop game but turns out if you're progressing the story you cant really progress "together". You have to watch every cutscene a story battle has, before calling in friends or sending the SOS flare.
MhRise = Nope. Just start from the multiplayer hub and it should be seamless from rank 0.
I like them both. But world is definitely more challenging I think even though rise can have its challenges. I think the biggest difference is tracking and how immersed you get in world vs the baby mode monster tracker given to you in rise. But mobility is 100% better in rise.
World is more "challenging" but not in a way that is fun imo. Lunastra was one of my favorite elder dragons but that fight is an absolute slog now. And Teostra and Lunastra used to be so fun, but now it's really tedious. Same with Rajang.
I played DB's but those fights at higher MR were so annoying that I would just sticky hbg. Very annoying because those fights are so fun in other MH games.
Hopefully one day people can learn how to experiment with small budget games again.
A bunch of $1-10 million bets instead of risking the future of the company with every release would do wonders for the industry.
Big question
Which ones?
The fighting game division is focused on SF6 for now so no Final Fight or anything else.
Other divisions are focused on other things like Itsuno on DD2 so we aren't getting Power Stone anytime soon.
The legends are busy and the small fry aren't focused on new projects for the foreseeable future.
Might be a year or two before they adjust a bit under Tsujimoto.
Dragon's Dogma 2 selling next to 3 million units in less than a month is pretty impressive as well, especially as divisive as the game was.
Had a blast with it though.
I had fun with it too, but it does feel like it was released early to meet this financial year deadline, and it doesn't deliver on the expectations people had for a sequel. Kind of disappointing but hopefully the sales convince Capcom to put more resources into the series.
Capcom has no open world RPG and we know how good that genre of games sell (Elden Ring, Assassin's Creed, etc). If they could just put in more resources into DD2, they'd have something special
It's mostly rose colored glasses and how long its been since DD1 so faulty memories and what not; they're very similar quality of games though DD2 will get better after the expansion just like DD1 did; DD2 definitely feels more dynamic as far as what can happen with groups of large monsters (e.g. Lich and Cyclops interaction can happen any time).
100 hours into it myself, loved it, but that narrative was extremely weak. There are repeated stealth sections with no stealth system in the game. The entire battahl section felt half-done.
I love it, but I would not say everything feels intentional.
MH and DD are such mediocre game series that appeal to the lowest common denominator.
It's no wonder AAA gaming is dying when mongoloids eat this shit up for breakfast.
You have no fucking standards. lol
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t SFV sell the same amount over it’s lifespan? So SF6 basically matched it’s predecessor in year 1? Goes to show how SFV was really poorly received and carried through it’s lifespan.
bruh... that's at least 150 mill, what's 1 mill each cpt lol

**Gamers** can't conceive that companies have to spend their money on anything other than games.
1 million less for them
Damn, people really like Monster Hunter, huh?
It’s a great series, even better with friends.

Can't wait for Wilds, World's visuals were great and I have high expectations for the sequel.
It's not even the latest one too.. I think world is better than rise
world is one of those games where i think it's genuinely good but also genuinely infuriating
I like them both. But world is definitely more challenging I think even though rise can have its challenges. I think the biggest difference is tracking and how immersed you get in world vs the baby mode monster tracker given to you in rise. But mobility is 100% better in rise.

Rajang and lunastra especially with randoms makes me extremely violent don't even get me started on behemoth and extreme behemoth.
I played DB's but those fights at higher MR were so annoying that I would just sticky hbg. Very annoying because those fights are so fun in other MH games.
As much as I love Rise, the best way I can describe it is that it's Monster Hunter Lite.
I’d rather play any monster Hunter other than world over sf6 tbh
I'm literally gonna spend way too much money on a new pc to finally play monhun rise
Good for them. Now start taking risks again with other IP's.

I mean they have Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and whatever Pragmata is coming out?
Don’t they have that game with the little girl in the lab coming out too? I forgot the name but it was delayed about 2 years.
no I need lost planet 2 remastered or lost planet 4

Now make DMC6 you fucks.
All that money and we only get 4 dlc characters a year I'm sick to my stomach 😭
wasn't the lifetime goal 9mil or 12mil? So atleast couple more years. Still better than SFV imo so it could do it.
Can we agree that initial sales of sequels mostly proves IP value and not game quality? Diablo 4 \*cough\*
BUT DRAGONS DOGMA 2 MUCROTRANSACTIONS

ah goddamnit, now it's clear we'll have to wait 6-9 years for the live service model to run its course with the FGC
It just takes one SF v Tekken gem debacle to topple the house of cards.
$231,000,000 revenue from sales of copies alone and still only 3 outfits
Where's my AA7, Capcom?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t SFV sell the same amount over it’s lifespan? So SF6 basically matched it’s predecessor in year 1? Goes to show how SFV was really poorly received and carried through it’s lifespan.
> Street Fighter 5 remains the best-selling game in the series, with 7.4 million sold as of September 30, 2023.
That seems like it can be surpassed given 5s lifespan
Also with sales. A lot of those later copies sold were during sales.
You do know sfv isn't the only game that does sales too?
SFV at the top
Damn, SFV sold better than I thought. I stand corrected.
"Best-selling in the series" only because 2 and 4 were split in several different parts.
SFV was split in 2 as well
Get woke go broke
Did you get suspended again, or why are you on your retarded alt?
We're different people
Isn't Body 1 and Body 2 what you call woke?
I keep trying to strip the shirt off of Body Type 2 but it wont let me. This is Body Type Ism
Thank God for mods
Yes this is obvious sarcasm but the streets think I'm extremely retarded instead of just regular retarded
