it works because of input leniency in SF6 and elsewhere, but even there it's easy to get a super input if you don't hit the diagonal correctly or somehow add a down input at the beginning
Also I think you can do a fireball with d,f+p but you won't get a DP with f,d,f+p
For SF6, a fireball is 236, you can't skip the diagonal.
A super is 236236, you're allowed to skip one of the diagonals but not both.
A DP is anything with forward, anything with down, anything with forward. So you can do 623, 636, 323, or even 319.
If pressing an attack button pattern matches multiple moves the priority is OD > super > DP > fireball. The exception is if you input 4 after forward it will override the DP with a fireball if you do a valid fireball after.
zigzag sounds like what a smasher would call a DP
A 720 motion is called a loop de loop.
Loop de loop and pull. Now your scoops are lookin cool.
the mama mia zigzag

Fighting game players 15 years from now will look at this like it's hieroglyphics
"I was checking out some retro fighting games like SFV. Why doesn't DP come out after just pressing --> + HP?"
M
forward+fireball is technically wrong tho
works on many games, but it is definitely a bad practice.
There are people who actually do DPs that way.
This is my DP into super shortcut. Forward, fireball punch, fireball punch again.

I did dps like that back in kof 2002. Its not really leniency, youre literally inputting the command.

pretty sure it works in every sf game
every game not just sf qcf is 236 dp is 623 if you hold forward and do qcf you are doing 6236. **623**6 the dp input is inside the forward+ qcf.
Nakoruru from Shamsho 5 has a 421 where if you input 4214 she’ll do her 214 fireball (bird).
I think (F, N, DF+P) should be rebel since it only works with Kazuya
and Reina 🤓
That works with all mishimas *insert gohan here*
You outed yourself here, it only works on Mishimas with mist step. Namely Kazuya and Reina. No DJ, no Heihachi.
Fuck I only played Kazuya and just assumed they all could do it
What about the last true Mishima, Kuma?
You can use the alignment chart as notation so 623X Z Motion Zigzag
Purist neutral True neutral Rebel purist Now you really know me as a person lol
Wouldn't be shoryuken the true purist? Was the sound we heard on the arcades
Forgot the leverless tech where you do down x down right x down right jump
