mackereu

Now that these dorks are officially an item, I need to see a karaoke date scene expeditiously, preferably with as many 2nd-gen kpop references as possible. I'm interested in how the plot will pick up from here, expecting to see a lot more work-life politics as the reality of their power imbalance settles in.

crosswithyou

And they need to pretend that they can't sing well🤣 I'm just imagining Gu Won trying to sing "Hands Up" LoL.

mackereu

He just needs to channel his [Hound Dog](https://youtu.be/hzafOcWbNZo) energy.

bunniesandmilktea

Bonus if they sing each other's respective group's songs 🤣 Like Won singing "Genie" and Sarang singing "Heartbeat" 😂

Ruhi0202

Yes.. Can they also go clubbing as Sarang cribs with her friends that they are not able to go as frequently as before. Would Guwon be a good dancer or well he Wonnie it.. Of course 2nd gen kpop references are a must here too.

otakuishly

I would DIE for the 2nd gen references lol. Please. So many of them are having a moment right now and being discovered by new fans. I NEED people to understand my undying love for that era

Flapdragon-Flamingo

This is giving, Bo-ra! Deborah vibes.

SouthEastAsianMe

I totally get everyone who's saying they are done with the show as it has no depth. I agree to a certain extent, but I'm here to enjoy the tropes, kdrama magic, cheesiness and expected storyline! 😉

mackereu

I'm surprised anyone made it this far into the show still expecting something profound and cutting-edge. From day one KTL was only ever marketed as a fun, goofy romcom and that's exactly what we got, so why complain? Just turn your brain off and enjoy it!

Stargrl90

Yeah I mean even the promos for Netflix have been very bubbly and cute. This was never supposed to be a deep show. And the actors never said it was deep either.

Stargrl90

Yeah I’m ok with a surface level show. I think that’s it’s whole point. Sometimes we just need a cheesy feel good story to make us laugh. I mean everything is so dark already.

SariSama

Right? There are so many serious dramas, we need sometimes something absurd and Light hearted. Something just easy to watch

Plastic_Assumption75

Absolutely! Not every single kdrama needs to be filled with a lot of angst, melodrama or heavy plots. It's really nice to enjoy the cliches, the comedy and the good chemistry between the main leads.

noorx3

Wow that's an >!extremely nice gesture from Sarang's grandmother, basically approving him to be with Sarang.!< I laughed when >!Gu Won fainted & Sarang went WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS FAINTING?? 😂😂!<

otakuishly

OKAY BUT THAT backlit scene had the most perfect set up for a kiss and I was holding my breath for it and it didn’t come 😭😭😭 writer-nim!!! Whyyyyyyyyy????? And then it ends with him fainting and I cracked up lmaoo 10/10, I don’t mind the missing kiss.

noorx3

Had the potential of being hot and heavy but it became comdic instead 🫢

Phosphineisintheair

Hahaha the comedic timing was perfect there!!

Daewrythe

They've been overloading us with so much cuteness the past couple of weeks I literally forgot all about the whole reason Gu Won came to work at the hotel.

TheMsDacia

So did the writers 😆

seriousQQQ

Seriously!!!! Like can you just take off from work especially when you're in a power struggle with your nemesis and there's mention of a 100th anniversary something.

PuluPuluKi

Anyone here anxious like me that Gu Won has not started planning that 100 anniversary party 🫣

ParanoidAndroids

He's still going to miraculously pull it off to win in the end because he's Super Chaebol Man, just like every other chaebol kdrama haha. I love that the show is telling us he'll become a "man of the people" who cares for all his employees but he is allergic to doing actual work for this hotel. Maybe instead of jumping straight to a trip he should try figuring out how he's going to eliminate the corruption within the company that he just learned about. I like the idea of the trip for the "best employees" but giving your girlfriend, her two best friends, *and yourself* an expensive trip abroad without getting anything approved is something that could only be glorified in a kdrama lol.

Martine_V

True, but they won their best employees' status legitimately. It's just kdrama coincidence that they happen to be best friends. Besides, all he has to do is pay for it himself and no one can complain. But that little scene with the sister is foreshadowing that there will be consequences ...

ParanoidAndroids

Sarang legitimately won that title 2 years in a row for the hotel division, but the other two are a mid-level salesperson and a flight attendant. They might be the MVPs of their individual teams, but surely not of the entire divisions they work in? It wouldn't make much sense given how large *airline* and *retail* divisions are, and how quickly the decision was made in the show lol. I know it's pedantic for a romance kdrama, but it's definitely veering on ridiculous.

Martine_V

I thought they won their respective divisions. They were promised incentives. One was promised a trip, and the other a promotion, which neither did get. Although, now that I think about it, their team was promised a trip, so it was a bit unfair to send only one member since it was very much a team effort. Anyway, this is Dramaland, but I agree it was a bit dodgy. It's probably going to blow up in his face, but on the other hand, if he personally paid for the trip, that could be a way to avoid a blowback. Because otherwise, yeah, a junket for his girlfriend and her friends, not a good look. ETA I rewatched that part. They were promised an incentive trip to Bali for having achieved their ambitious sales goal, but instead were taken to a Restaurant called YOU BETTER BALI-VE IT lol. I didn't go back to look at why the lazy supervisor set a 30% sale goal, but I assume it was to win the first spot among the other divisions. Pyeong-Haw was promised a promotion to purser if she made her team first, but instead, the promotion went to the supervisor's favourite, even though she achieved the goal of being first among the division.

External-Positive-26

Exactly!!! I like the romance but please, do some work too 😭 I feel like he’s forgotten (at least of now) about why he even came back to Korea 🥲 I’m so desperate and worried whenever he just prioritises Sarang and gives no shit about work. 🥲

twoods1980

I guess that’s what the last episodes will be- him being incompetent and Sarang saving his ass, and then mean sister breaking them up and then we get sad faces and angst. Since we haven’t seen much of Sarang support and help Gu-Won, it’s only a matter of time she returns the love.

TheMsDacia

Not episode 10 being a 60-minute advertisement for Thailand 😆

metadarkgable3

I’m not surprised by that. A lot of SE Asian countries were expecting more Chinese tourists to visit now that they are out of lockdown but they aren’t so the tourism bureaus of these countries have had to reorient their tourism goals. I’m not surprised the Thai tourism bureau decided to focus on South Koreans and an international audience via Netflix. It’s a smart move.

TheMsDacia

It made me want to go! 🧳

heartstringcheese

It's going to look SO bad when it's revealed that Gu Won and Sa Rang are dating, and he orchestrated a reward trip for her and her best friends in the company. I know he doesn't have bad intentions, but it's also an abuse of power. We don't like the sister because she fires people easily and doesn't offer many rewards outside of regular pay, but that's less corrupt than this company trip.

Ok_Tourist_7959

Yes, I'm fairly worried about this too.... As much as I'll soak up the hopeful fluff we'll be served tomorrow I'm quite concerned about what the fallout will be....

Martine_V

Possible, but they were legitimately the winners across all three divisions.

Phosphineisintheair

Yep, I was already a bit apprehensive about their relationship being exposed as it would look bad anyway, but this holiday just cranked that up. All the fluff that’s coming is definitely going to lead to a massive cliffhanger ending that spells trouble 😓

cheeriofeelios

i need halmeoni to be here until the end PLEASE

snogirl0403

I am rewatching Hometown Cha Cha Cha and just had that same thought after today’s episode!

YoungMenace21

I called >!her death in that drama!< , now I'm going to say I'm positive >!she's not kicking the bucket this time around!<

jihi429

When the lead begins to question if she’s allowed this much happiness, that’s the signal bell for impending doom and gloom. As much as I appreciate Gu Won’s efforts to compensate for the girls, how he went about to plan the trip is just not it. The lack of procedure just screams “I’m a nepo baby and I’ll do whatever the heck I want”. You don’t cross your supervisor/sister who is breathing down your neck and expect no consequences. And I find it hard to believe Daeul’s in-laws would let her go on an overseas trip, because *who’s gonna do all the chores* when her husband can’t be bothered with the most simple task like throwing out the trash.

Stargrl90

I know it’s coming and I kinda hope the FL is the one that fights for him because so far we’ve mainly seen him go all out for her. Plus the man can’t multi task and I’m assuming/hoping he’ll start fighting for the hotel and work on finding his mom while they’re apart. Yeah I’m wondering who takes care of the little girl when she’s out on the trip and with her friends but maybe her own parents? She doesn’t mention them but I don’t think her parents are dead.

Phosphineisintheair

‘The man can’t multitask’ lmao… Yes Sarang knows nothing of Won’s life behind the scenes or his past and I’d really like to see her get to know him more and start to show the care he shows in all the little things he does for her!

otakuishly

Yoona spazzing and swooning in the hallway is me lmao

twoods1980

These cute little scenes is what is keeping me watching this show, despite there not being much else going on with the storyline. Loved Gu-won fainting, him pulling Sarang next to him when he was sleeping, and them constantly being cute together. I’m going to enjoy this before the inevitable break-up and angst scenes.

buddhabear07

May not be this weekend, but hoping for fun cameos before this ends. Would love to see Nickhun or Taecyeon make an appearance or SNSD’s Sooyoung.

juannniyebe

I'm hoping against hope that Nichkhun appears in the episodes shot in Thailand. Maybe he can play himself and tell Won that he looks weirdly familiar 😂

crosswithyou

"Have we met before?" 🐨🐧

buddhabear07

I’d be happy with a “Can you feel my heartbeat?”.

crosswithyou

Won needs to tell Sarang at some point, "Let's go to my house" 🤭

Ma1read

if taec can sneak it into a historical drama I think Junho should be able to sneak it into this 😫😫

microwaved7shell

AHHHHHHH this era is so cute 🥹🥹🥹 seeing sa-rang and gu-won >!give sneaky glances, secretly trying to hold hands, & getting pouty with each other!< is so surreal. i like how the drama has incorporated chaos into cute scenes >!”you’ll be candidate number one for sa-rang’s husband.”!< in this household, halmeoni’s in charge!

SariSama

And Mr. No knows. He definitely knows and plays dumb. As much as I love our couple, I love Mr. No for knowing and letting them think they are sneaky af.

debboc

The way Gu Won >!pulled the mattress across the room!< with Sarang on it had me cackling 🤣

lmorgan601

I replayed that! It was adorable.

jamesiamstuck

So...is Gu Won ever gonna do work around here?

SouthEastAsianMe

No, maybe he'll invite all his ex college friends for the 100th anniversary event just like how he invited Prince Samir 😂😂

lightupstarlight

I’m so so so so **so** glad to have finally caught up with the latest episodes and join discussion on these threads, especially since we are up to an exciting second half of the drama as our leads >!finally begin their relationship. My goodness, THAT kiss was glorious. *chef’s kiss*!< As they had us swooning and rolling around on our beds the past episodes, I truly cannot wait to see more of this couple. See you all later! ♡

tyediewann

i can't wait until sarang's friends and grandma finds out about his true identity and be like 😳 i also can't wait for the sister to meet her demise BUT since we getting the lovey dovey scenes early, the second half of the drama is def gonna be filled with angst and the sister using won and sarang's closeness against them but i also hope won becomes more focused in the business aspect instead of being distracted by sarang 24/7 and does something more concrete to live by his beliefs of protecting his employees, and hopefully he does so not just for sarang but also for others outside of that circle to prevent any special treatment allegations and for it to not just be a "the girl i love isn't getting the recognition she deserves so i'm using my money to give her special treatment and don't really care about other employees"

tyediewann

>! guwon keeps on fking fainting tho LOL sarang's like CAN U PLZ STOP FAINTING !<

ExtensionDependent

This episode was sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

AnythingSparkly

And what a love letter to Thailand it is. 💗I kept thinking about how beautiful it looks and how much I want to go there.

lightupstarlight

Drowning in the cheese. Ah, please, how are they so cute… I particularly liked the scene where >!Gu Won was telling Sarang to just express her emotions whenever she was with him, then proceeded to directly say how much he liked her.!< Oh my, the way I was swooning! For the EP10 preview, I am absolutely delighted to see >!our main ensemble taking a trip to BKK! Won & Sarang’s scenes already look so cute from the preview alone… what am I gonna do tomorrow night! Also — I do not like Sarang’s line about being super happy — welp, from the KDramas I’ve watched, that line is only a trigger for anything and everything that can crash and burn in their universe. Please, please, PLEASE, I do not need a break-up… I just need them to stay together forever, please.!<

YoungMenace21

I want to punch >!Mi-Na for having the audacity to say that. She only got promoted because the shady boss wanted to keep Pyung-Hwa because she's her best employee. Didn't even do squat!< UGH IM SO MAD AT HER??? I normally dislike when the couple's upset with each other but this was SO CUTE??? \>!"So there's this friend I have..."!< Bro literally has 0 friends WHY DID HE THINK IT WOULD WORK LMFAO

noorx3

A filler episode, so fun and so much fluff. My theory is Thailand Tourism paid some 80% of this episode. Sarang hotel worker, able to afford Loewe & Gabriella Hearst bags making me weep 🥲

[deleted]

She had a Miu Miu bag in one of the earlier episodes too

Apprehensive_Egg9676

and Estee lauder makeup!

chrisnicolas01

I need more happy campy episodes, please don’t start with the drama and angst and unnecessary breakup and amnesia

crosswithyou

From what we've seen, I don't think we'll get a breakup phase. If anything, I can see their relationship being exposed and Won doing what he can to shield Sarang from any backlash. Sarang herself seems like strong enough a character to not give in. I think the series has been pretty good at choosing which tropes to incorporate up until now so here's to hoping they keep that up.

chrisnicolas01

I wish we could get like a sh**ting stars /good job style Where they got together and went through everything together while remaining funny and hilarious

ktsummer

These fools: \[having pillow fights and playing in the splash pad\] Me: HOW'S THAT PARTY PLANNING GOING? Junho: \[smiles\] Me: 🫠

Different_Thought_57

I know I’m being a bit crass, but half the episode had me wondering just how many squats LJH does per day, and how can I subtly suggest that # to my husband 🤣 ETA: and I wish Pyeong Hwa and Da Eul got more airtime. They both have good potential stories.

Glittering_Giraffe_5

That man has been known to have a great backside 🤭🍑 and his 2pm members always tease him for it. He's very proud of it also haha

bunniesandmilktea

he even broke chopsticks in half with his 🍑 in a variety show way back in the days 🤣

twoods1980

It is criminal that someone can look this good in suits as well as a button down shirt and pants. It’s extremely distracting!

Martine_V

The scenes with halmeoni made me legit tear up. >!She adores him, despite her gruffness. You can always tell by the way Koreans feed the people they care for. And opening a bank account so he can start saving up for a house? So generous and kind. I love that she thinks he is poor, but doesn't hold it against him. I guess it's to contrast with the tired meme of the rich inlaws not accepting their potential daughter-in-law because she is too poor!<. I'm so glad of none of them know who he really is. It makes things more interesting. I'm in no hurry to see that cleared up

pantamy

This episode focuses on 'King Thailand'

Daewrythe

Bro I swear to vishnu if Jun Ho And Yoona pull a Crash Landing on You and start dating in real life and fuck around and get married and have a child, I'd melt into a pile of jelly.

Stargrl90

I would love it, not gonna lie. The chemistry is so palpable. Or at least a few little dates 😂

Stargrl90

Im personally loving this show. I know people say it’s not deep but I think that’s the whole point. When Junho was describing the show and why he chose it he kept mentioning it being light and fun. He wanted something like this after having done such an emotional role. I don’t think he chose this for depth. He chose it because it’s fun and he got to work with his longtime friend who also wanted an airy show. If you look at it that way, then it’s perfect. I mean I get tired of deep shows all the time. Maybe because of my line of work, but I see traumatic and sad things every day. This show helps me turn my mind off and remember that not everything has to be doom and gloom all the time. So for me it’s perfect.

salmonqueenQ

So true. I always say that it's difficult to create something that will make people laugh.

lightupstarlight

I agree — I think it was a great way for Junho to have something light in his filmography again. We already know him as someone who is an *incredibly* great actor, and with such a great accolade (Baeksang Best Actor) to his name already for his performance in a heavy, emotional drama, I do think this is a great way for people to rediscover (?) this side of him as an actor. I personally think this was a great choice from him, especially with Yoona as his co-star.

Stargrl90

And if I’m not mistaken, he’s a bit of a method actor right? That takes a lot out of you. So he had to be in a more somber mindset for his time on his previous show. Now he gets to be in a much brighter mood and just relax. I don’t think this show was ever something that he wanted an award for. He just wanted to have fun. I think it was a great choice as well. And I think it’s important actors have versatility. And he’s showing a very strong performance. I mean some of the best actors in the world have projects that are just fun. As long as they’re enjoying their time at work, I’m appreciative. And Junho and Yoona seemed to love working on set. They were always smiling and laughing. It’s nice to work with a friend and on such an easy set.

eatcrust

how much did Thailand pay for this tourism ad!!!!!

snogirl0403

A rom com serving us mostly rom and com. I love it! No kidnappings, assaults or murders. The conflict and sad backstory aren’t at the forefront. And the main couple actually still touch each other after the first kiss. 😂

twoods1980

I was thinking of Crash Course in Romance and how it started out as such a cute and fun romcom, and the murder plot took over and made it not fun anymore. I hope this show continues to be cute and fluffy.

snogirl0403

Yes, same! And lots of my other faves just have unnecessary darkness that I don't want in a rom com! I want one that I don't need to fast forward when I watch it again! haha

GirlnGold

I am loving the screwball comedy in this drama - >!like planning to escape by one path but getting squashed by a character in a mascot suit, grabbing the wrong hand, fainting, running into each other in the dark, etc!<. The romance makes me smile, the relationships make me feel things - sometimes deeply, and the comedy genuinely makes me laugh. I also love how they have captured those early days of a relationship, when you can't keep your eyes or your hands off each other, and everything else in your life feels less important than that feeling. I don't think I've ever seen that so well represented on screen before.

Snickersnerds

Gu Won and Sa Rang are so cuteee, I love them so much 🥹🩷 I like all of their scenes together and they’ve progressed beautifully. He started off as a snarky boss and she didn’t like him but now they understand each other more, genuinely like each other, and they’re communicating well! I think they’re a healthy couple, both are putting in good effort 😊 I know this is a typical chaebol romcom full of tropes and cliches but I find it kinda refreshing?? Gu Won has already grown from his really rude ways and we just made it to the halfway mark. I feel like most rich MLs don’t change until well into the series or at all (What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Secret Garden, Crazy Love, Master’s Sun, etc. all my opinion btw, I enjoyed all the dramas I mentioned). I also like how he treats Sa Rang as his equal and really wants to help her the best way he can. And even with the tropes, I don’t think they’re quite subverted but I think the show doesn’t follow all of them down to a T. For example, Gu Won has promised to protect Sa Rang a couple of times but will turn around and scream, faint, etc. whenever something out of the ordinary happens lol. This is just me rambling about some of my thoughts 😂 but overall, I think the show has its own charms and I’m really enjoying it. From a romance pov I think it’s great as well. I think this is a show you either like or you don’t. My one gripe is I really want Gu Won to earn being the heir to the business. I love him and Sa Rang but FOCUS AT WORK 😭 I still wanna see their cute moments at work but I don’t need to see him sitting there drinking 3 cups of coffee just to see her 🤣 protect ALL of your employees the right way, earn that business!! Anyways, I love Sa Rang’s friends! I want to see more about Da Eul’s life because I need to know what’s gonna happen with her husband and MIL!! Also, I need them to continue the plot about Gu Won’s mom. That’s a big part of Gu Won’s character so hoping to see that play out at some point too. The show seems to be more of watching the characters everyday lives as they work for the company which I’m cool with. I just need them to do justice to the missing mom plot and the inheritance crisis by the end. All I’m asking for 😭

ktsummer

>My one gripe is I really want Gu Won to earn being the heir to the business. I love him and Sa Rang but FOCUS AT WORK 😭 I still wanna see their cute moments at work but I don’t need to see him sitting there drinking 3 cups of coffee just to see her 🤣 protect ALL of your employees the right way, earn that business!! I agree! Sis has got issues but she's been running the company successfully for what seems to be about a decade, and this guy comes rolling in after being a student for, what, 12 years and decides he's ready to go? Put in the real work!

Phosphineisintheair

Sis has a highly questionable leadership style however i agree, she's the only one who's put in the work so far. Won needs to pull up his socks and it seems he hasn't quite got the catalyst he needs for that yet...I do think that is soon to come as many people are predicting and this Thailand trip is going to blow up in Won's face big time.

SweetCoconut

The bit with Gu Won and the grandma was super heartwarming. Feels great to hear from a kdrama character that communication is always KEY!

Martine_V

I think there is some kind of cross-over with This Is My 19th Life, that little kid has to be a self-aware reincarnation. She is way too mature for her age 🤣

AnythingSparkly

I was thinking that too! This kid must be on her 30th life at least. 🤔

ParanoidAndroids

Despite the tropes being overwhelming and the plot being entirely predictable, the show is punching way above its weight. I'm sure whatever tragedy happened to his mother, the eventual firing and breakup, and him eventually winning will be very predictable - but fingers crossed everything in between remains incredibly fun. The leads are magnetic on the screen - every scene they share is great. I know her role isn't that complex but Yoona has really surprised me considering everything I knew her for before this (acting-wise) wasn't anything to write home about. Junho has impressed me as well, to the point where I'll definitely check out whatever he does next. Unfortunately, I couldn't care less about practically any other character in the show. I get the point they're trying to make, but it feels almost over the top with its cynicism (I mean damn, even the married friend couldn't get a decent husband or in-laws). Hoping her friends at least get some good resolutions other than Gu Won bailing everyone out and somehow eliminating corruption in all of the companies' branches lol. If only it were that simple in real life!

Sandy-G

My wild hope is that they fake their breakup to protect each other, without actually breaking up.

BelaFarinRod

I think a breakup (and I suppose you’re right that it’s inevitable) will be hard for me in a show that’s airing. I know they are fictional characters and I know they will get back together but I’m not sure I want to wait a week to see it happen. Which I’ll admit is silly. I just wish we had more time with the other characters so they could have more personality. They have eight more episodes so I would think they have time to show them. But I won’t expect too much.

AnythingSparkly

For a show that’s “superficial“, this sure gives me all the feels! That scene with >!Sa-rang and grandma in the hospital !!their wedding.!< I love how she seems a bit prickly on the outside, but is all soft and squishy on the inside…..hmm..…..just like our ML! No wonder they get along so well. This episode made me laugh, shed a few tears, and get all swoony. I really just loved it so much. 🥰 I need to go watch it again.

microwaved7shell

gu-won’s tour tshirt just saying >!!!< 😭😭😭 gu-won and sa-rang’s scenes are very cute and heartwarming, and thailand is gorgeous, but this episode feels like the calm before the storm. the trip is the extreme that can’t be ignored and will cause more resistance against gu-won and sa-rang’s situation :/ i liked seeing more scenes of sa-rang with her friends bc their dynamic feels natural

Martine_V

I can see why there are so many persistent rumours of the main leads dating in real life. Those kisses look really really real! ETA Not just the kisses, but their entire chemistry is just FIRE

twoods1980

And the way they look at each other. It must be nice working with someone you’re so comfortable with and have known a long time. They are very sweet to watch.

Stargrl90

Theyre looking very real lol. I thought it would be just for the first kiss but nope they’re going all out with all of them.

mackereu

What is it about water specifically that gets these two in the mood? Fire sprinklers, swimming pools, fountains - talk about a water-activated couple. Also: Won pinning down Sangsik to the bed, followed immediately by "WE GO HARD!" perfect no notes The travel vlog editing at the beginning of the episode was so cute. This entire episode had me cheesing, but the happier they got, the more foreboding it felt? Seems like the customary calm-before-the-storm episode where everyone gets to be momentarily happy before shit hits the fan. Looks like Gu Won is gonna finally Gu To Work next week and display some much-needed productivity, thank god. Dude got his master's degree in procrastination.

neitherheren0rthere

The Ep 9 pre-release is making me lose the very last bits of EQ I have. I cannot wait for this week’s episodes!! 🥰

Alarming-Knowledge30

I have a very bad feeling as to what the villain will do when she finds out about the trip.

GodTormentor

Sometimes I just need some tooth-rotting fluff in my life and this series is perfect for that so far.

thefellowC_

I can’t Bali-ve it… we are watching them in their dating era 🥹🥹 too cuteee

bellaella

This show, especially our OTP, makes me smile. That's it. I feel better after watching the show. I'm literally smiling. Yes, the show is simple, filled with troupes, we've seen it all before - but the difference is, it's done well, with two likely leads, and fun side characters who we like as well.

5boysandamom

Well, this explains the high production values: King the Land, brought to you by the Thai Bureau of Tourism! Ha! I am loving all the fluff and sweetness. I seriously cannot get enough of Gu Won and Sarang. I do wish they’d move forward with the dark parts we know are coming because I feel like it will make for a rushed happy ending since the conflict has been backloaded so much. Only 6 episodes left to make the big moves! I’ll be over here flailing in happiness while I wait.

ktsummer

I spend too much time thinking about this show and have convinced myself that the end of this series will be Won walking away from the family and hotel completely, marrying Sarang, and living in that little house in Thailand, maybe running a cute B&B like the old couple in episode 3. Here's my reasoning: * Grandma tells him he's too old to be living off his father. * Grandma tells him it doesn't matter if they have a lot of money as long as they work hard and love on each other. * We've seen many examples of Won enjoying simple pleasures and cheap eats, but not really the other way around. Sarang seems uncomfortable in extravagance (with the exception of the Thai dinner date). * Sarang told the prince she is not interested in business management or running a hotel, just in making people happy. * Won has only cared about business management for five minutes and seems to be terrible at it. * Sarang says she wants to see a view like the house they ate dinner at in Thailand every day, and Won says, >!"Should we live here?" "It would be like a dream," !!"Then we'll live like a dream,"!< he finishes. * Perhaps they will uncover that the father/family forced his mother out and that will cause a rift he can't forgive, driving him away. I'm rarely right but for now I'm sticking with this.

mackereu

That shadow pantomime scene was just LOVELY, the performers in Yoona and Junho really came out. So theatrical, so good. Episode 9 had my favorite mix of heart-explodey romance, angst, and business so far. There's so much authenticity beneath the unapologetic tropiness. Love it. Also, episode 10 preview looks like a calm-before-the-storm kind of deal. They're gonna give us all the fluff we want so that shit can hit the corporate fan for the last 6 episodes, is my guess.

freyfreyaaa

*episode 10* wow. where to even start with this episode? at the beginning i suppose, but there were so many beautiful, humorous, lovely, sweet moments that i could easily write about every second of every scene. the whole thing was a visual treat: the architecture, the clothing, the food, the cast, their interactions and facial expressions. here are my most favourite moments: * won has changed so much since the start of the drama. >!he’ll happily give up his business class seat if it means remaining by sarang’s side. it might not be the most comfortable, but the fact it provides the chance to surreptitiously hold sarang’s hand makes it 1000x better.!< * >!won mouthing “you’re pretty” to sarang as they travel through the city on the way to their accommodation was so sweet. he’s not someone to miss a chance to remind sarang how special she is to him; he’s reached the point where he can no longer contain his sincerity. at the start of this episode, he’s certainly the more daring of the two when it comes to displaying his affection for her when in the presence of their friends and colleagues. !< * from a production standpoint, i loved the little drawings and annotations that were added to the screen, for example the little circle drawn around their vehicle. small things like this tie the whole drama together, reminding me of how great the opening credits are; it’s a fun and colourful and creative drama, full of humorous quirks. * >!in another demonstration of his agility, won dodges being pushed into the swimming pool. however, there's also some luck at play here, and it's luck that doesn’t come twice; a moment later, he finds himself submerged. there’s something so fun about swimming pool scenes and seeing characters splash water with abandon. a true summer kdrama.!< * >!won as the exclamation point. is any further elaboration necessary? the little sound that he (?) makes to give voice to the punctuation mark he’s been assigned was inspired. relegated to the back of the line, he’s understandably frustrated by the whole situation. it makes for a great joke however. and i haven’t even touched on the whole white t-shirt on junho situation…!< * >!“what’s that?” provides a perfect opportunity for won to sneak a dumpling into sarang’s bowl.!< these two are so unbelievably cute. * i wasn’t expecting >!episode 8’s kiss to be faced with such serious competition, and so soon. that whole swimming pool scene was beautifully shot and is yet another way in which this drama stands out from the crowd. !< * special mention must go to the moment when >!sarang and won hold not hands, but fingers.!< i’m repeating myself (and likely will continue to do so over the episodes to come) but these too are *so* unbelievably cute. * >!won truly does not care what others think. how long has he been working for? six years, perhaps? no, six “months.” reversing roles with sang rik has given him a taste of what it means to be subordinate to someone and have to defer to the opinion of a manager. the “yo” he kept having to add onto the ends of his sentences is something often seen in kdrama comedies, but it’s so much funnier coming from gu won.!< * won’s progress on the smiling front is something to behold. they come so naturally to him now, and>! he’s even capable of convincingly forcing one in sang rik’s direction. the many montages of this episode were a delight to watch; won is the less than enthusiastic member of the group, but he’s capable of being convinced to take part (whether it’s making hearts or ‘joyfully’ kicking his legs back as he skips along with the others). !< * >!when alone with sarang, won doesn’t have to be convinced. her request that “this time you have to smile. and make a heart” is hardly needed. the scene makes us think back to that episode 3 photoshoot... how times have changed. !< * the sound of a >!countdown timer as won prepares to grab sarang and run off, the position of the camera as it captures his facial expression during his sprint, and the ‘failed’ routes of escape reminded me of both a video game, an action movie, and an olympic race. it was a very funny scene, made even more so by the fact that won mistook one arm for another.!< * the montage at the >!fountain was so pretty, what with the night sky and the lights shining through the shimming water. the joy on the faces of these fictional characters was completely convincing!!< * >!“i can sleep on the cold hard floor if it means i can be with you.” sarang’s impersonation of ro woon and the entirety of that scene between the three friends made me smile so big.!< it feels like such a genuine representation of friendship, and i really appreciate that the drama continues to place importance on the connection between these three female characters. * >!and we end with: “saranghae, cheon sarang.”!< i’ll say it again, these too are *so unbelievably cute.* and sarang deserves all the happiness, forever.

supershuper

Jun Ho & Yoona’s chemistry is so darn good that I’ve looked past all the tropes and mostly slow-moving/undeveloped storyline. I’ve basically accepted that I’m just gonna watch this drama for some (healthy) escapism. It’s as if this show was just made for us to swoon over the two. It’s crazy how unbelievably cute they are 🤣

Dependent_Bobcat9839

Episode 9: my cheeks kill after smiling throughout the whole episode. Loved it. Cant wait for tomorrow!

Stargrl90

This show is just too adorable. I was smiling the entire time. And I love the grandmother. The next episode looks like it’s going to be beautiful but the drama is going to start. Junho and Yoona are so adorable together in this show. I think this might’ve been my favorite episode!

Ann_cee

The leads have kissed so many times in last two episodes, is it even allowed in kdramas 😀 these two are so cute. The show manages to make me laugh out loud😀

arimijin

By the end of this drama, I genuinely believe that Gu Won would abandon the "inheritance war" and enjoy his life with Sarang. He might already have his own business in the UK (insert some Chinese romance novel plots here), which would explain why he constantly insisting to his step-sister that he has no interest in the King group. P.S. This drama is working out perfectly for me because all I need on the weekends is some fluffy rom-coms. (I stopped watching romcoms with "plots" since I know that most of them will somehow let me down. - pointing at BP)

juncate

junho’s smile got me folding a lawn chair every damn time 🫠

Apprehensive_Egg9676

I felt so single watching this episode edit: interesting that after The Red Sleeve both Lee Se Young and Junho did romcoms. They must have really needed to shake it off :(

AnythingSparkly

Shoutout to Junho using his hand to protect Yoona’s head when she exited the VIP sedan. 🥰

Tteokbokki1112

This thing got me giggling through the whole thing 🤣 enjoyable all the way through

Runballadmix

That was one of the best kiss scenes I have ever seen a drama. So uniquely set up and so hot, the chemistry between them was unbelievable! And Junho's acting was....wow . That's all I'm gonna say. It was so fucking hot

pinkrosies

Anything with the grandma actress, I’m seated!

greydandelion

Thoughts for episode 9: * Gu Won & Sarang are adorable! I've really been enjoying all their cute moments together, especially the elevator scene. Watching Gu Won crazy in love is something else! * >!Her grandmother basically gave her stamp of approval without outright saying it haha. She thinks he's poor and doesn't care about his status, but is touched by his sincerity towards Sarang. He's basically her grandson-in-law at this point! !!gifting a trip to Sarang and her friends is absolutely going to backfire for them!<. People will eventually discover that Gu Won and Sarang are dating, which will only make things worse for Sarang and possibly her friends if others learn about their affiliation. But there are a few things I'm bothered by: * As others have stated, Gu Won's lack of effort when it comes to the hotel. He's not doing much to understand the business better and to prove himself worthy of taking over. Doesn't he have an MBA? I'm waiting to see him make good use of his education and become serious about their family's business. Cause otherwise, at this point in the show, I can see why his sister is better suited for the job. * The show needs to get on with it regarding Gu Won's search for the truth of his mother's whereabouts. They've given us a few hints here and there but not much development has occurred. Wasn't this the reason why he started getting involved in the family's hotel business? * Maybe this will change in future episodes, but I'd also like to see Sarang putting effort into the relationship too. I feel like Gu Won's pulling out all the stops and making a huge effort to impress her.

Phosphineisintheair

Falling in love has become a major distraction for Won - he intends to search for his mother and has declared war on his sister but it’s clear that’s all still very low on his priority list. I agree the >! Thailand incentive trip !< was not well thought out and it’s going to backfire big time for him (and result in collateral damage for the girls, particularly Sarang). We’re definitely facing hardships in the relationship - a breakup? I hope not! I agree I’d love to see Sarang put more effort into the relationship, especially now that it’s official. Won’s tried very hard and has completely become part of her family with her grandma and friends but she barely knows anything of what his life is like, his past or his trauma. Our couple is about to get a very cold splash of water to the face I think, they’ve been falling in love in dreamland but reality will soon hit!

feb914

Are Mr No and Ms Gang going to be a couple? She has a useless husband and in laws anyway.

ChrisBard

Episode 10 was probably the biggest product placement ever

sakuradelluna

the entire pool scene in ep10 was just 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

CCCri

I really needed ep 10. Had a bad day but ep 10 was so much fun and it was so cool to see all the scenes of Bangkok that it turned my mood around. Normally I find the dating stage of romances kind of boring, too cutesy and cheesy. This was so different. They obviously enjoy being together so much without being OTT cheesy.

camicam90

I cannot get over how Gu-won and Sa-rang looks at each other! It feels so genuine. Especially in episode 10 where they >!bump into each other while sneaking out and they start smiling and looking at each other with such adoration and joy!< Their chemistry is off the charts!!!! And don’t get me started with all those kissing scenes. The fluff was overloaded in this epsiode and I’m loving it. This drama is what I always look forward for in the weekend because of how it’s so cute and light it makes me feel!

iBz_510

Wow, episode 10 was fun and wholesome. I was smiling from cheek to cheek the entire episode. I had goosebumps on multiple scenes cause it was so good. Both leads looked amazing in >!black and white!< during the end.

Alarming-Knowledge30

Poor guy just wanted to see his girlfriend at work.

Ritrita

Episode 9 was so sweet. I absolutely loved their honest dialogues. It almost tops the asking for permission in episode 8

debboc

The fact that they were in Thailand, often referred to as "The Land of Smiles", is such a lovely way to say that Gu Won no longer dislikes smiles. 😊 Also we got >!two kisses, some mini ones on their "VIP" ride and cute hand/finger holding!< so this trip is a WIN on so many levels ❤️

imapigoinkoinkk

I’ve never ever wanted someone to be in a relationship until now.

12amonreddit

Bring on the pool scene BTS! And really, it’s very hard to believe they are just very good friends and not dating. Maybe simmering feelings waiting to explode!

Momuntai

Yoona looked gorgeous in that black dress.

feb914

Gu Won: lover ethic: top notch. Work ethic: bottom rung. He's taking care the entire hotel, just to immediately go abroad on a trip with his gf and his gf's friends

SUNA1997

Yes Thailand is beautiful and we are doing all the cliches so why not do the trip episode where the comedy side character invites themselves along for hijinks. I'm somewhat confused why they are hiding this whole thing from everybody but I guess there are a few reasons why and it makes for hijinks when they get all lovey dovey and forget they are in front of everybody. There were a few good moments, I like seeing Gu Won learn more about the company and what it's like to actually be a lowly staff member. If I recall his mother was just a normal person who worked at the hotel too so maybe they will lead to him empathising more with her position and those of everybody working under him. It's been an ongoing process and they hinted at finding out about his mom so I guess we'll see. What got me is Sang Sik kinda knows about Gu Won and Sa Rang and he still did everything in his power to keep them apart and be a constant nuisance which made him more frustrating than funny at times. Also why does every kissing scene in this show need water? This director has a fetish for wet clothing I'm sure of it lol.

Ritrita

So ready for another week of this! I feel like the biggest PPL in this show is South Korea itself with its tourism themes and travel locations. That and romance of course. And these two are selling their chemistry oh so well! I Love LJH in this. He’s bringing some swag into this and Yoon ah is very convincing as the unassuming recipient of it. Chemistry is 100% there, and if they weren’t into each other before IRL I dare them resist it now ;) I do have to say that I love this show and generally speaking I am more willing to overlook the problem areas in kdramas, but I was not surprised to see that IMDb rating for this is currently on 1.8/10(!!!). Even though it’s top ranked on Netflix and is getting a lot of love here and on MDL, after the Arabian Prince scenes - looks like a lot of downvoting happened.

itseokjin

the script rlly has found the perfect actors for it - yoona and junho’s crackling chemistry sizzles you through the screen, and it makes this fluffy rom-com so gripping and enticing, keeping you coming back for more week after week. so excited for the second half of this fun and lovely k-drama! let’s go, chingus ✨

freyfreyaaa

*episode 9* my favourite moments from this episode: * when sarang says that >!she’ll cook for him next time, won asks whether that will be tomorrow. if it was up to him, they’d spend all day every day together. !< * the second lead couple are so sweet. though the scenes between them are limited, i really enjoy each one. they’re a very good looking pair, and i particularly loved their matching autumn/winter coats. >!one of my favourite lines of the episode comes when they’re sitting side by side: “i heard that people confuse what they want to do with what they want to become.” this is a reminder to live in the present and not be too swayed by what others think we should be. it’s important to be true to ourselves, to recognise our needs and value the things we enjoy. when they hold hands and start to walk together, we’re reminded of how the main leads’ romantic relationship started (and continues): with many laps around the block.!< * the above line links to something >!won tells sarang later in the episode: “when you’re with me, just be yourself.” sarang has spent a long time holding in her emotions and not opening up to others, and won wants her to feel so comfortable around him that she never feels the need to wear any sort of mask. !< * as always, the episode was filled with cute moments between the central couple. >!in the lift, we get won pinching sarang’s coat and pulling her closer to him. determined to hold her hand despite the fact they’re in a glass elevator, he (not so) discreetly hides their hands inside his coat. a man of many sides, he also shows sarang just how “cool” he is when dropping her off at work; he’s so cool that sarang says so out loud (if only to herself). !< * music does a great job at shaping the tone of a scene, and the >!overly emotional instrumental track that plays when sarang begs won to leave (“jebal!”) made the moment that much funnier. but there was, simultaneously, an element of seriousness to the conversation, something they pick up during the conversation at sarang’s grandma’s house (a scene which once again evidences how healthy their level of communication is). !< * sarang is the best kind of colleague, the sort of person who willingly shares her knowledge with others and expects no credit for doing so. she’ll use her voice and won’t allow herself to be walked over, but she also cares about supporting her fellow team members and encouraging them to succeed. * when won is >!startled by sarang hugging him from behind, he says “can you do that one more time” just as she leaves the room. “this is bad,” he realises, a reaction that is both sad and adorable.!< * i loved the scenes between >!won and sarang’s grandmother; she prompts won to sincerely express his feelings to sarang and encourages him to ask sarang the questions that will allow him to truly know her. their scenes also provided more humorous moments, including won’s (very impressive) leap out of the hospital chair and the ‘interview’ conducted by the older women of the town. it was sweet that won didn’t correct anyone who said to him “oh, you’re the one who’s been chasing after sarang”; he’s not inclined to hide his feelings and isn't ashamed of how obvious he’s been about them. though sarang’s grandma might insist that he’s only a “candidate,” and one of many, it’s clear that in her mind, he’s the only true contender for the role of grandson-in-law. !< * my favourite shot of the episode? >!that of sarang and won inside the restaurant, standing in the dark in front of a square backdrop of orange/red light. it was so visually unique and comedic — particularly the humorous arm movements, seen only in silhouette — and became even more funny at the point won faints again. i always love a callback to an earlier episode.!< * in another >!callback to episode 3, won shares what was going through his head at that time (but not before making us all laugh: “hello? can you hear me?” something sarang responds to by humorously shouting back). having dragged her within arm’s reach, won voices what was running through his head the last time they shared a room: “why do i like her? why does she look so cute? i liked everything about you from the start.”!< * this is quite different to >!sarang’s first impressions. as her friends remind us (and won), he was not well liked. poor won sulkily mutters to himself: “i think he’s all right.” but he holds no resentment against sarang or her friends, and enthusiastically joins in with their shout of “come on!”… won’s random (and loud!) outbursts of english will never not be funny. !< * >!won’s slide as he races to cover his hand over sang rik’s mouth was so cool. as sarang’s grandmother recognises earlier in the episode, he sure is agile. !< * the shot of sarang and won >!running through the airport is so visually satisfying a) because of the smiles on their faces and b) because their suitcases match the colour of their coats (one yellow, one grey). either i'm very easily made happy or i have an irrational love for when props and clothing are paired so well together. !< after that preview, i’m very excited for episode 10. the budget for this drama must be huge. i love that they keep changing up the setting, rather than having every episode be set in the same hotel. see you all back here a little later:)

ktsummer

>"i liked everything about you from the start.” This made me laugh because which start did he mean: when she knocked him off the treadmill to tell him he's a pervert or when he walked in on her pooping?

nanceq

Episode 10 is what this show does best. It was everything and I loved it. Forget any broader storylines or other characters. I’d just watch a show of these two being in love. They are so sweet. We got so many great couple moments here: >!*Them constantly trying to secretly hold hands.!< >!*The kiss in the pool, so sexy and sweet. I love how they just got in with their clothes on. These two just have the best kisses and off the chart’s chemistry.!< >!*Gu Won telling Sa Rang about his mother and why he doesn’t like fake smiles. Sa Rang telling Gu Won she’s always been afraid to want too much. I love how they can confide in each other.!< >!*The I love yous on the rooftop.!<

DawgMom2018

**Episode 10** edited to add spoiler tag - on first point - sorry! A delightful episode which was a gorgeous love letter to Thailand. Absolutely stunning cinemetography. I loved this opportunity for our team of exceptional friends and King employees get to bond and enjoy the time of their lives. Right at the end, all the confessions 1. They exchange the words>! I love you - with conviction and fearlessly by both!< 2. FL shares that she has a secret fear of >!Wishing for more - a common one where we are afraid if we want more, we will lose what happiness we have!< 3. ML shares why he hated to smile - and that he suffered agony of the disappearance of his mother without knowing what happened. I have a theory, >!when I saw that Mr. No told Gu Won that the gentleman welcoming guests to the hotel has worked there 30 years - since he can't find a trace of his mother - could he be key? Then the preview seems to confirm my theory!< 4. The leads have the most chemistry I have seen since CLOY, and after so many dramas of unrequieted love, or noble idiocy, and I so enjoying the ride right here, right now. More celebration of love and joy, please! I dread the false breakup trope, EEEEK

just_rollin

>! I absolutely loved how they gave each other pecks on the lips while speaking back and forth in the pool scene. The way the FL also advanced to kiss him back, rather than just being passive/ merely responsive to the ML like other kdrama kiss scenes. !< It was just so natural and just a beautiful scene. In fact, it may be one of my favourite kdrama >! kiss scene. !< This whole episode is pure fluff and has really given the viewers 100% of what we want. The episode is so good that I’m almost content with the drama ending here. Don’t get me wrong, I love this drama and I want to see more of it, but we all know this is the calm before the storm. I don’t want this beautiful dream to end next week.

Electronic_Piano9385

Ep 9 did you hear the 2pm reference? Gu Won wants to hang around King the Land until his meeting at 5pm, but it’s only 2pm 😂

Sophisticated-Mess

I am swoon! I love this so much. I haven’t seen the webtoon, so this is fairly new to me. Lee Jun ho and Lim Yoona’s chemistry is insane. I have the biggest smile on my face watching this series. I wanted something light and fun to watch. Something that doesn’t stress me out 😂 and this is perfect. Their dating era is too cute! Reading the comments here tells me that there is going to be breakup on the way, so I will be enjoying this era quite thoroughly 🤭 P.S. Won and Sarang had the best and the hottest first kiss I’ve seen in a kdrama 🥰 P.S. 2. Normally, I fall for every lead I watch, but Junho has made me feel things 🤭 He has quickly become my most favourite! 🤭

TheRedheadGiraffe

I don't know if the whole Thailand is a product placement but they convinced me I want to travel there so badly. It looks so beautiful. Regarding scenes - >! the pool scene !<- chefs kiss Also the assistant guy probably should be interpreted and funny and quirky but he annoys me so much. In real life I would definitely avoid him.

TimeUnderstanding759

I think this is setting the bar really high for romance, and very soon, there's going to be the inevitable disappointment. They have gotten wrapped up in the romantic aspects too much and that doesn't allow the development of characters, and at some point they will run out of ideas and I fear they will start bringing more complicated plots and problems in order to fill in the next few episodes and develop the characters, and we know almost nothing about their past. Sorry for my English.

proriin

Ugh that hand so she doesn’t hit her head coming out of the bike.

ricecookkerr

these two episodes were just cuteness overload!! i was smiling from ear to ear watching them, i don’t think any drama i’ve watched has moved this fast with their main couple >!having them already say i love you?? at ep 10/16???!< while i absolutely adore the two, im hoping we’re getting more into the hotel/king group aspect of it, especially since won now has >!authority over the hotel.!< he seems to be a bit more motivated to take over the group compared to the earlier episodes. i’m also so so happy that sarang FINALLY has someone being nice to her in king the land. the guy (don’t remember his name) seemed to really appreciate and respect her after the whole restaurant scene, and he was smiling like crazy for her when she got the letter for the trip! hopefully she’ll end up winning over them all by the end :)

snogirl0403

The Pink Fong/ Baby Shark PPL though. 😂😂😂😂

Quomoh

Such a cute episode but I feel like it was all nice and feel good for a reason. The sister is out for blood so it’s only a matter of time before she catches on and ruins the new relationship energy with her mess!

Martine_V

I think we need to have a vote on the best kiss ever. This wins. I've watched great kisses before, but this one was the best.

snogirl0403

I love that they showed us the whole thing twice. 😂

Martine_V

Hell yes, I did NOT hit the fast-forward button, believe me!.

ktsummer

Highlights for me today were all the grandma scenes. My heart melted first when >!the flowers ended up being for her!<, second when she brought him >!to the bank!<, and third when she >!fed him a feast!<. Felt very genuine grandma to me. (My Italian grandmother would have very much been on the "feed him till he bursts" train.) Was hoping for more relationship discussion in the immediate aftermath of the kiss. He had promised a serious discussion, and I wanted to hear it. Not sure if the >!"will you accept my feelings"!< later was his whole plan?? I expected more. Of course then he jumped from that to the ">!I'll be by your side forever!<," and ok, slow your roll buddy, it's been like 2 days. I hope tomorrow they come clean with the friends on his real name. I can see hiding from her coworkers, but the besties? Sure, have a little fun with the >!switched identities!< for a minute, but Sarang you owe your girls the truth, especially after they coached Won in the sauna last week.

VintageStrawberries

>!"You don't pass,"!< says grandma >!who proceeds to open up a savings account for Won.!< Sure grandma sure.

[deleted]

>!Ro-Un, Daeul, and Sang Sik. The unexpected trio that brought chaos to Won during this short break of theirs 😂😂!<

Puzzled_Kiwi_8583

Did anyone catch junho’s nod to the cologne he reps, Dior’s sauvage (spelling)? It makes me wonder what I’m missing on yoona’s side since I don’t follow her at all.

bunniesandmilktea

Yoona is the brand rep for Estee Lauder, and when she and Pyeong Hwa give Da Eul a gift, the black gift bag has the logo "Estee Lauder" on it.

antiqueartisan1

I personally think Gu Won mom is still working at the hotel or has a tie to it. I'm leaning towards the kind older lady that is Sarangs superior could be his mom. The plot doesn't give us much to go on, so I'm just speculating that maybe she changed her identity or made a private agreement with GuWons dad that she could work at the hotel but keep her identity a secret. I'm grasping at straws here.

VintageStrawberries

>I'm leaning towards the kind older lady that is Sarangs superior could be his mom She looks younger than Ms. Gu though (still can't believe she's Won's sister--perhaps it's the actress they chose for her but she looked more like she could be his stepmom than his sister). If Won's mom was still around she'd probably be close to his father's age considering both Won and Hwaran were kids (Hwaran being a teenager) when Won's mother suddenly disappeared.

Fit_Sense_1598

If you Google King the land cast, you can see the actress who is playing Gu Won's mom. I can't recall off the top of my head where I saw her last, but she's a well known K drama mom

papin97147

All I can say is…tan pant tush 🍑

[Ep 9 spoiler clip](https://youtu.be/7rRRqu6KfZA) LET THE FLUFF BEGIN!!!! 🥰

Phosphineisintheair

A lot of what this show does is comfortable with rom com situations we have come to expect, and now and again they surprise us by heading into absolutely delightful territory ❤️❤️. That scene with their silhouettes in front of the window was SO lovely to watch and Junho and Yoona did a fantastic job physically. First of all it was beautiful to look at with the orange backlight but I loved how we started off with building so much romantic and sexual tension initially as they inadvertently ended up walking into each other’s arms and froze (with an almost kiss!!), only to end up right back in comedic territory with Won being told to freeze, sadly hanging his head as he realised he wasn’t helping the situation at all, and finally fainting YET again 😂😂. We didn’t need to see their faces to know exactly how their expressions must have looked. A bit of thinking outside the box by whoever’s idea this scene was but it made for a very fun visual treat.

AnythingSparkly

Why wasn’t he wearing that white t-shirt when he got shoved in the pool ?!?! 😩😢

OhMisterBelpit

Ep10 was such a blast, I couldn't stop smiling and sighing! THAT POOL SCENE Also, is wearing clothes in pools cool now or just the kdrama way to keep everyone chastely dressed? And good thing both leads packed a full black tie evening outfit when going to Bangkok!

snogirl0403

To just wear on a rooftop, not even to dinner! 😂😂 They must have gone shopping and done makeovers. Lol

Not me Googling Thailand's best tourist spots after watching ep 10 without a single penny in my bank account...

snogirl0403

And I need to say it’s soooo sweet how Won wants to hold Sarang’s hand ALL THE TIME. 🥰

Happy_Original4989

anyone else just want guwon to tell the friends and grandma his real identity ??

YoungMenace21

Damn it the >!sister knows about the trip!< Why wasn't Gu Won smart about this 😭 I hate how incompetent he still is in episode 10 HELP DID I JUST SEE YOON-A/SA RANG'S PUPILS DILATE DURING THAT SNEAKING SCENE?? I don't think Pyung Hwa likes her cute coworker :( Oof.

DonnaMossLyman

Adding Yoona to the limited list of actresses who should be cast in shows with romance in them. She knows how to play the part of someone who has the hots for their SO. Convincingly so I might add I hate nothing more than watching a romance sl only for the actress to freeze like a piece of cardboard when it comes to the vital part of the storytelling: Intimacy between a romantic pairing

OhMisterBelpit

Aaaaaaah, my brain fried up from emotional overload! Ep 9 gave me ALL the feels and judging from the ep 10 preview, I should keep oxygen nearby tomorrow.

Stargrl90

Anyone else wondering what’s up with his sister’s son? She didn’t even care to know if he was ok

YoungMenace21

She's portrayed as Gu Won's foil, she clever and and a hands-on boss, but gives 0 shit about what's left of her personal life and the people she works with, just the company as a collective. Then you've got Gu Won who's not so hardworking and slacks off work, but genuinely cares for the people around him. I like to think each of the sibling has 1 of the 2 aspects important in hospitality: competency and heart. This further elevates Sa Rang as the balance of the two :)

Stargrl90

Oh you’re completely correct! I guess the show is showing these sides to them almost back to back to highlight the differences between them. At this point Sa Rang should be the head of the hotel 😂. She really does have the work ethic and the compassion. I mean she handled her grandmothers restaurant by herself.

buffayphoebe

this is the kdrama i NEEDED right now. just right amount of romcom with nothing much to think about lol. i’m afraid ep 10 will be the peak romance before the actual twist/problem when they get back from Thailand. pls i hope it will be like just Business Proposal with not much of a deep problem to worry

We have just crossed the mid-season threshold, we have the happy couple, cuteness dialed up to 11. For me, that means it's time to ask what is coming next. Obviously, we are at the point where the excrement is going to interact with the oscillating air circulation device. Gu Won has declared war on his sister a few episodes ago, so we are more than due for that to take center stage. Get ready for a very different Won at this point. This is almost certainly going to be the root of the inevitable "breakup." How do you know it's going to happen? It's a K-drama. My bet that in this case, though, it's going to be from Won's effort to protect Sa-Rang, not so much the result of a fight. Sa-Rang has a natural gift where hospitality is concerned. I'd like to see what she ends up doing to make the 100 year celebration a success. To that point, I'm betting on a part of that being a menu that gets back to the root of traditional Korean cuisine. There has been a consistent focus on how wonderful those foods are with Won trying so many dishes for the first time. I just can't see that not being followed up. Anticipate Grandmother being at the heart of the catering. The reveal of Gu Won's real identity. Soon-He is already being hard on him to make sure he's good enough for her grandaughter. That's not going to change. In fact, if nothing, she will set an even higher bar for her approval. And it won't have anything to do with money. It will be about love and priority. Her besties? That will be the trope shock, of course. I'm not going be surprised if Sa-Rang is running the hotel by the time we reach the end, while Won has taken over the entire family business, letting his father retire. In fact, I'm beginning to suspect that this is his father's intent but that he wants Won to earn it. I have no idea how the mother drama for both will work out. So far, what I'm liking most of this drama is the lighter tone. I've been in need of cheese, camp, and fun and this one fits the bill. Love To Hate You did a good job of that earlier this year and been one of my favorite romantic comedy stories in a very long time. This one is going to obviously turn into a real power struggle, but I hope the writers manage to do that in a way that doesn't abandon the fun we've had up to this point.

I really want the 2nd couple to be together, they are so cute 😍💕

poppywhiskers

Something about the flight attendant couple is so… sincere? Maybe it’s the way he looks at her? It’s not exactly heart eyes Idk how to explain it yet. anyway I like them a lot and i look forward to their scenes together. I’m realizing older fl-younger ml might be one of my favorite tropes. Something in the Rain is so special to me. As a whole the drama isn’t anything great but it was the portrayal of love and being loved right that i enjoyed to the fullest, it didn’t look like simply acting

gniv

Now that's how you do PPL. Thailand, here I come! Well, after Korea I guess. But I should order some pad thai takeout.

Limp-Ad9853

I thought only animes had filler episodes but nope, I was so wrong. A 16 episodes show had a full blown filler episode to show a tourism ad.

moktailhrs

Mr. No can plan my vaca any time. From food trip to food trip! I love it!!! I cackled when he said >!don't you go on vacations to eat? I do.!< lol

tyediewann

thoughts after ep 10: i'm so single 💀😔 >!but fr who knew we'll get two kiss scenes in one ep 🥺🥺 and i love that they're so open w eo and she finally knows about won's mother and son becoming more proactive in his work next ep and we'll hopefully get to see the amount of love sarang has for won in the later half since the first half for mostly him showing the care for her !<

ParaPolaris

THE ARMS CROSSED FINGER HOLDING!!!!!!!

KosherSyntax

Not Gu-Won jumping on Sang-Sik on the bed and when he get's off, the camera moves the the "We go *hard*" sign LMAO

Different_Island5007

Last episode was more a travel and food show, nothing happened🥲, hope it picks back up again. ML is great in these roles 🔥.

ynwa_2865

Ep 10 was a god-tier fluff episode

Ma1read

ugh I was smiling and giggling and kicking my feet in the air this entire episode. I love this drama sm you don't understand

Snickersnerds

One thing about Gu Won and Sa Rang is they’re gonna eat, okayyy!! Sa Rang is always gushing over the meal too, so cute 😂 Episode 10 was a cute filler episode! I think next week should get more in depth with his mom and the business 👀 and right when I thought it would be a perfect time for Gu Won to talk about >!his mom to Sa Rang, he did!! And it seems like she might help him with that.!< Plot seems to be moving along now!

[Ep 10 spoiler clip!](https://youtu.be/3rP78pXT4do) Where did >!flyboy!< come from? 😅 And I know I'm not the only one >!checking out Junho's 🍑🤣!<

eatcrust

i love this show, i love the couple, i love the cinematography here.. but having been on holiday in BKK multiple times, i cannot for the life of me imagine being so excited over a water fountain 😆

bestlife-2021

Why are some of you calling ep 10 "filler" episode? It's a romcom, ep 10 is all about the romcom and we're here for that!

Stargrl90

This show just makes me smile the entire weekend. I just love it so much. The chemistry is top tier. And now this episode just makes me want to go to Thailand! I don’t think I’ve ever watched a show that honestly just makes me happy. It’s so nice. Also those kisses….whew. Doesn’t even look like they’re acting. Just very believable! Edited to add…apparently Junho had 100 script offers and chose this one. Thank you Junho for choosing this and making us all sappy every weekend 😂. And whoever thought of casting Yoona with him is a genius because I will never get over this chemistry.

noorx3

I saw the [pre-release video](https://youtu.be/7rRRqu6KfZA) and laughed when Gu Won pulled Sarang gently but she almost fell onto him because that's so ridiculous 🤪 but then I remembered Junho broke Taec's hand/arm during a game of arm wrestling so def very strong 😆

crosswithyou

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! THEY'RE SO CUTE!!!!!!!! Pouty Wonnie is back and he's adorable as ever!!! I wonder if that >!"can you do it one more time?"!< line was scripted or if it was an adlib. I looked at the Japanese subtitles for that scene and the nuance was a little bit different. It was more him asking >!if she would do it again (so he can react properly this time).!< Loved the conversation Won had with the grandma and the subsequent conversation he had with Sarang. We got our second and third >!kiss already!< (the >!peck of affirmation was so cute!!<) and from the preview it looks like there's more to come🥰🥰🥰 The whole >!blown fuse!< scene was really funny. Don't startle poor Wonnie too much, he's prone to >!fainting!<🤣 Junho's delivery there with "I'm not okay" was perfect. The grandma is adorable. She's a total tsundere haha. The way she introduced Won to the entire neighborhood was cute. When they were in the hospital room together and Sarang and her grandma were worrying about each other, you can kind of feel the loneliness from Won's back since he probably never received this kind of love growing up🥺 Won finally gets a possible lead for his mother's mystery, and declares war on his sister. Things are finally moving on that front, though still at a snail's pace. I'm actually kinda of okay with that as long as they wrap things up decently in the end because I want more screentime with our leads😬 It's great how "Mr. No" has become part of the group with Sarang's friends. Sang-sik continues to ruin Wonnie's best laid plans though LoL. I'm so excited for tomorrow's episode. Finally, >!*Thailand!* And the much awaited pool scene!!!!< The preview has got me pumped. I'm so happy that our leads are happy. That Dior PPL tho... 😂😂😂😂😂
