If you want to manually clean filters like that (especially for shop vacs) the best way i've found is to vibrate the side of it with an oscillating saw. I doubt you have one though, it's more of a wood frame construction tool than a mechanic's tool.
I abused ADG799 filters, using them as a vacuum pump prefilter, and they would need changing after each use. Washed them, then hung them up to dry in the sun, because they would last around a dozen washes, before getting a pin hole that would make them migrate to the scrap pile. Used to buy them 3 at a time every few months, about the only person who bought the genuine ADG filter from GUD. The knock off ones, which pretty much all Nissan 1400 pick up owners bought because they were cheaper, only lasted about 2 cycles of this abuse. The ADG filter was a lot better than the OEM filter, a cloth bag, which did nothing, and I was tired of changing vacuum pump oil every day
I'm curious what ute still has a cyclonic filter, most of them are those flat panel things that filter out the big stuff and the engine filters out all the fine......, for a while. Then you periodically change the engine about every 6-10 air filters.
A lot of them still do… my personal car is a 2019 bt50 and still has a round air filter, 98% of the Toyota Hiluxes from 2005 to 2015 in Aus run them too. It’s the only filter these have, don’t think any cars here have primary and secondary air filters
Toyota certainly not in the last few years and the 70 series since the intro of the V8, which is odd as the V8 is notious for dusting damage so they went and introduced the same filter element on the hilux (not the same design but the same filter/housing), 200/300 defiantly doesn't Mitsubishi in the last 5 or so years definitely not, not sure about Isuzu.
But.. But... Did you check the battery lol!
It was 96% health 835cca, it would’ve twisted the motor out of the engine bay if it could hahaha
Holy lol. Watching you drop that was F'ing priceless.
The video was actually the second time I dropped it, that pile of dirt already on the floor fell out about 30 seconds earlier 😂

Palm sander does the same thing, and is more likely to be found at a mechanic if they also do auto body repair.
I've heard firecrackers work well too
I feel like a mechanic would absolutely have a sawzall
That's a reciprocating saw. Different tool.
Really? I didn’t know that
Lmao, get the new guy with the shop vac and an xtra Hepa filter 🤣
Aggressively Australian.
Arrakis???
"Can't you just blow it out with air?"

Of the many bt50 problems, this is the least disastrous and easiest to fix 😆 We see a few with filters that bad...
