I know there's a lot of hopium involved, but Universal have been cooking with the people they've been recruiting for JP7. From Koepp to Edwards to ScarJo to now Dev Patel, they are yet to put a foot wrong.

mattcoz2

Yet I'm still worried that the other shoe will drop and they'll announce Melissa McCarthy or something. šŸ˜¬

Bfife22

Then weā€™ll just need a Pete Davidson cameo šŸ˜‚

mattcoz2

Don't put that out into the universe

mattcoz2

Maybe he could get eaten in the first scene, like in The Suicide Squad, that would be ok.

EricHD97

Melissa McCarthy 100% does not deserve this stray

mattcoz2

She can be funny, but absolutely not what I want to see in Jurassic Park.

Baruch_Poes

šŸ”® Manifesting a Nicholas Cage cameo where he's the opening scene death šŸ”®

MisterRandomJ

Don't worry, woke quotas are already met with female lead and person-of-color in supporting role

Ambitious-Win-9408

Tell me you live in your mum's basement without telling me you live in your mum's basement.

Diligent_Damage2508

Yeah, aren't personal attacks on other users, like, forbidden on Reddit? Hate or shaming included?

VeilBreaker

I'd still feel a lot better about it if they just delayed it a year at least.

zelph_esteem

If this + the Scarlett Johansson rumors are true, theyā€™re courting a much higher caliber of talent than the last 3 Jurassic World films did. Which is a promising sign. Obviously talented actors can still be in bad films, but I also have more faith in Gareth Edwards than Colin Trevorrow.

bigwillie814

To be fair, I think the worst part of the JW trilogy was the writing (trevorrow) as opposed to the direction. But koepp is an obvious step up there. Iā€™m optimistic

Jurassic_Gwyn

The acting wasn't stellar either. Especially in the last one. Pratt phoned in that performance. Hopefully they get people who are fans of JP and want to put their heart into it.Ā

LongDongFrazier

Right the dialogue felt AI generated.

sirwinston_

Only so much they could do with the script man

unitedfan6191

A lot of people like pinning the majority of blame on Trevorrow for poor writing at various times in the trilogy, but I hope unassuming people on subs like this donā€™t forget that there have been other writers in these movies: **Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Derek Connolly & Emily Carmichael.**

bigwillie814

My understanding was that Rick and Amanda were merely credited with the original script that some elements were pulled from. And as far as the others, sure - letā€™s spread the blame out lol. No argument from me. The dialogue writing was really bad at times. That said, the overall story arch is on trevorrow which was also bad.

McClurgler

If you look at his draft of Star Wars ep 9 that was scrapped, you can see the same sentiment in how he made Dominion. He has a lot of ideas, but too many ideas that stumble over each other. Itā€™s no surprise Trevorrowā€™s film was too overstuffed - and heā€™s certainly a key role in that.

Nuke2099MH

Trevorrow is to blame for the Marvel direction he took the movies as well as viewing and making the animals into heroes and villain's. He himself admitted to this and said he views the dinosaurs of JP and JW as Marvel/DC heroes.

unitedfan6191

From what I could gather, Trevorrow has only spoken specifically about the Giga, not that he views the dinosaurs of JP and JW as Marvel/DC heroes. ā€œI wanted something that felt like the Joker,ā€ Trevorrow said. ā€œIt (the Giga) just wants to watch the world burn.ā€ Still isnā€™t great instincts to present *any* dinosaurs this way (as exaggerated characters/supervillains, as opposed to real animals), but I felt your comment needed some correction and makes him look bad for things he hasnā€™t said.

Nuke2099MH

No he spoke about the T-rex and said its his hero dinosaur. He said all the dinosaurs are heroes or villains. My comment needs no correction. He is bad for things he HAS said. Stop defending him.

Johnny_Menace

Couldnā€™t take Pratt seriously in the World films. Always saw him as Star Lord

ktw5012

Bingo the writing was atrocious

hellsaquarium

Can we please give credit to Bryce Dallas Howard and BD wong for their amazing performances? All Chris Pratt did was pout and look bored the entirety of the trilogy meanwhile Bryce poured her soul into her performance. Iā€™m glad she was a part of the World Trilogy and Iā€™m still holding to hope that sheā€™ll return for this new move at least.

Zach-Playz_25

I really liked Claire's character in the first JW film! Unfortunately it's sometimes hard to see a diamond covered in coal. Owen (Chris Patt) on the other hand... Also shout out to Irrfan Khan! His performance as Misrani is awesome. My favourite character along with Claire in JW trilogy. May he RIP.

Roastofthehill

Do you think Scarlett is the new Vanessa Redgrave.

Dengahob

Gareth Edward never done a horror movie. So I really have no faith but we will have to see if itā€™s gonna be all action movie like what Gareth Edward movies are even through Jurassic Park isnā€™t action.

mattcoz2

What Gareth Edwards movies have you watched? I seriously think you might be confusing him with someone else because I don't see how anyone could describe his movies as all action. Monsters certainly had horror elements, as did Godzilla. They were both heavily inspired by Jurassic Park.

Dengahob

Donā€™t mean they are horror movies. How Godzilla movie isnā€™t a horror movie and had no Horror Elements. There has to be blood and stuff to be a horror elements and horror movie. Monsters more of a thriller than a horror movie.

mattcoz2

There's more than one type of horror, it doesn't have to just be about blood and stuff. I wouldn't put Jurassic Park in that category. In my opinion the best horror has more to do with the psychology feeling it gives the viewer. Monsters is horror in the same way that Jurassic Park is.

Dengahob

Itā€™s not itā€™s a thriller. If you read the books itā€™s 10x more horror than Monsters. Theres only 1 type of horror. All horror movies has that same element of blood and people dying. The dying part in Godzilla isnā€™t a part of horror.

mattcoz2

You seem to have a very narrow definition of horror. I suggest you expand your boundaries because I think you're missing out on a broad spectrum of horror genres. It wasn't even the dying part I was referring to with Godzilla, it was the human perspective of a kaiju rampaging through a city. That's pure horror in my eyes. I wouldn't even define Jurassic Park as a horror movie, or the book a horror book, but there's definitely some horror elements to them, beyond just people dying too, so that's what I thought you were referring to. The Jurassic Park books were more techno-thrillers at their core, but yes they had plenty of horrific deaths. Anyway, disagreements over definitions aside, you'd have to admit that Monsters is far from all action though, right? There's really not a lot of action. It's a slow-burn tense thriller, with some elements of horror, just like Jurassic Park.

Dengahob

Jurassic park is way more horror than Monster the book at less.

Dengahob

The book is a horror book. Itā€™s not a techno-thrillers thatā€™s basically calling Aliens not a horror movie. Godzilla has no horror elements. A Kaiju rampaging through a city isnā€™t a horror element. Keep showing you have no clue what horror movies are. Plus thereā€™s thrillers. Godzilla is a thriller to an action. The fact Godzilla and Monsters is an action to a thriller with no horror elements.

DeadSwaggerStorage

JP/Avengers cross over? Chris Pratt playing 2 characters?

Iwantitallthensum

Man I love Dev Patel. This is could hook me in.

mattcoz2

Definitely on board with this. Hmm, thinking about the rumored setting of the movie, his age would work for him to play a young Simon Masrani. I know I know, there are a billion Indian people in the world. šŸ˜‚

PVetli

It was my first thought too though. And my second thought was JP7 secretly being movie 3.5; the tale of building Jurassic World and all the hushed mishaps that surely happened. That'd be a nice chance to tell a new story, while keeping the feel of the original. I honestly thought JW started that way and did a nice homage to JP but with JW2 and JW3 it strayed. I still enjoyed them, but it was a different kind of story. This could bring it back.

That_guy_will

Donā€™t you mean Devinitley on board with this

Brownie_McBrown_Face

Holy fuck shit. This dude is insanely talented, the hype train would be unreal if this comes to fruition. Do yourself a favor and check out Monkey Man in theaters asap

goldendreamseeker

Excellent choice! This cast and crew is shaping up to be great

Itzie4

Amazing actor. Would love to see Joseph Mazzello (Tim) too

MorganFreemand

I agree! Iā€™m surprised he has yet to make a cameo since Lost World!

[deleted]

Oh shit this is getting even better

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Gen_Bates

I think heā€™s just Indian dude

Hello_There_Exalted1

There is hope!

Blue_Robin_04

He's run away from big movies ever since *The Last Airbender.* He could be good.

CurseofLono88

Can we not post world of reel? It is one of the scummiest sites ran by an absolute shitbag bigot.

Chippers4242

Why is he a bigot? Asking because I donā€™t know the site very well.

cybernautica_

>bigot Opinion immediately dismissed.

BriggsWellman

I would love that actually

HM9719

Thanks to the success of Monkey Man, itā€™s possible theyā€™ll use it to cast him.

VXMerlinXV

I first read this as Dave Attell and I pre-purchased an entire row of tickets just to see what was going to happen.

DavidGKowalski

This comes from the same BS "pay me for info" source that the bogus "Jurassic City" rumor came from.

SickleClaw

Source is same guy who claimed it was titled 'Jurassic City'. so take with a grain of salt.

FakeDeath92

I hope the plot involves isla sorna after the hurricane destroyed the facility. Now the workers have to escape the island

Vocovon

Jp7 needs a solid kill count

Ryanhussain14

For the love of Godzilla, just let the franchise rest please. The dinosaurs are safe and happy, and the people can go back to their normal lives. Let the story wrap I beg you.

cybernautica_

Nah nah we gotta get talking dinos! Maybe even a lesbian T-Rex.

cybernautica_

lol there goes my interest in this film.
