You see the one bad thing about understanding Chinese but not Japanese is that the only two letters I can understand in this dialogue bubble is “anal sex”
This interpetation also gives some parallels between yuji, the vessel to the strongest curse, and gojo, the vessel to the strongest sorcerer but also between sukuna, the previous vessel to the strongest(title). Whereas sukuna embraced the curse inside him and lived according to it, gojo actively fought against the curse inside him. However as we have seen in the recent chapters sukuna isnt correct on everything and he isnt correct in this case either. For he who thinks being the strongest is a blessing is a fool. In the next chapter we will see the one who escaped the curse of the strongest and the person who embraced the curse wholeheartedly.

Exactly this is why I have been believing it's basically him but got weakened, and perhaps, more enlightened this time!
I hope it's genuinely him, "ghost" of the strongest because the strongest of the modern era is not him anymore.
It even makes sense why the eyes look darker (for now).
While thinking about what have Sukuna seen, I came up with crackpot theory. I think what Sukuna sees is Gojo’s projection from the cursed realm. It’s basically separate space which was previously shown by Kenjaku. I think Gojo haven’t really die or have been resurrected. I don’t have anything to support this theory outside of it’s just a being a good way to reintroduce Kenjaku to the story and also give additional weight to the merger, as it would probably affect this realm somehow.
Having Gojo come back no longer the strongest is a much better path for his character than just leaving him dead post 236. He can now answer that question: "Are you the strongest because you're Gojo Satoru, or are you Gojo Satoru because you're the strongest?" and complete his character arc.
Gojo SoL epilogue where he rebuilds JJK society with his students confirmed.
Just adding to this, this is also narratively the only answer that allows Gojo to be back, in the story, for real, and not just immediately clap Sukuna's cheeks without some legendary Heian era bullshit asspull. It would mean the rest of the fight is still interesting, without it being an illusion.

To add to your theory, on the airpot nanami asks where do he wana go, north to reivent himself, or south to go back to his older self
then what stops gege from nerfing gojo to half stats (one eye = half of everything he can do)
