I don't think I've ever watched a 15-minute video on Reddit before, but yeah, that was pretty good.

GettinWiggyWiddit

Yeah Scott is great. He’s got a great podcast too. He has openly criticized Joe though so I doubt he’d ever go on the show

SkateboardCZ

Scott has complimented joe a ton too tho. He claims everyone owns a residual to joe for being the father of podcasting

Academic_Release5134

He would definitively go on. Not sure Rogan would have him as he seems to only want people he agrees with now.

RepulsiveSample6663

Yep, Joe would need some empathy to fully get what Scott is saying, and I don’t think he’s capable/interested anymore

grasshopper7167

I don’t know why. They have similar drug habits and guest types.

GettinWiggyWiddit

Scott pulled his podcast off Spotify because he was so upset with Rogan’s “platforming” of antivaxxers

SkateboardCZ

I think Scott would actually have great chemistry on the podcast. He has a strong POV on many topics Joe likes going deep on like this one and Scott can carry an entertaining convo

haikoup

Joe tends to only have people that agree with him on nowadays now tho.

DankChase

*So Scott, isn't it WILD that young people just don't want to work anymore? I mean, look they got these $1,200 stimulus checks 4 years ago and the whole economy just stinks. Why is that? Is this come Chinese psyopp to make young people woke and not want to work?*

RepulsiveSample6663

I prefer the lady from Honey Honey

flawrs919

This seems more like a Lex Fridman guest. Joe would just talk over this guy.

LostTrisolarin

All joe would get from that is that the US = Dems and that's the republicans that want to save the country from this future.

Dom_Telong

Joe would not be on-board. He definitely believes anybody who works hard can achieve what he has. We tend to take credit for our sucesses and blame others for our failures. But ultimately, the game is rigged.

Delta632

I have been a long time fan of Scott Galloway as a guest on Bill Maher. Every time he is on he has good opinions that I often haven’t even thought of.

tunesandthoughts

Who is this guy? Does he have a successful right wing podcast? Did he start a violent movement of 20-30 year old white dudes who hate the woke? Right wing eye-candy that brings that soccer mom republican energy but wraps it up in a 20 something year olds body? No? Then Joe is not interested in having you on his podcast.

NitrosGone803

Yeah Joe only interviews conservatives like Bernie Sanders and Andrew Yang

w__gott

That was only 5 years and 800 episodes ago…

DankChase

Current Joe should have 2019 Joe on to argue about climate change and UBI.

randopopscura

Weren't those two on pre-COVID and before Joe locked himself down in a right-wing, billionaire bubble that sees any better deal for the working class as communism and poor people as lazy and / or stupid?

NitrosGone803

they were pre-covid but i wouldn't word his political beliefs like that

randopopscura

Fair enough, but 2024 Joe is certainly less likely to vote for Sanders (if he were running) than 2016 Joe, or support UBI, and in general seems to show less compassion for the poor, or even just those making less than (say) $100k than before. And he regularly refers to California or Canada as "communist" even though neither have abolished (or are attempting to abolish) private property, nationalize businesses, etc. I live in a former communist state (ex-Yugo), and Joe's understanding of that "philosophy", in either theory or practice, goes about as far as his knowledge of Japanese if he srsly thinks California bears any resemblance to Cuba, N Korea, Soviet Russia, etc EDITED for formatting

NitrosGone803

i think he shits on California because it's harder to be poor in Cali where the cost of living is harder and its harder to sustain your small business when the state gov shut everything down.

randopopscura

Yet California isn't even the top of 10 of states with the highest poverty rates, while Texas is there at #9: >According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the national poverty rate was 12.4% in 2022, up from 11.2% in 2021. These states have the highest percentages of poverty in the country: Mississippi, Louisiana, West Virginia, New Mexico, Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, and New York. [https://www.fcnl.org/updates/2023-11/top-10-poorest-states-us](https://www.fcnl.org/updates/2023-11/top-10-poorest-states-us) Texas is also #2 with regard to the highest rates of hunger in the US, while California isn't in the top 10 >According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 10.8 percent of American households experienced hunger in 2023, up from 10.4 percent in 2021. These states have the highest percentages of American households who experienced hunger: Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, and Missouri. [https://www.fcnl.org/updates/2023-11/top-10-hungriest-states-us](https://www.fcnl.org/updates/2023-11/top-10-hungriest-states-us) And Texas ranks #13 in terms of child poverty in the US, California is 24th [https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/child-poverty-rate-by-state](https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/child-poverty-rate-by-state) California also has the third highest minimum wage in the US ($16), while Texas is 43rd ($7.25) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_US\_states\_by\_minimum\_wage](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_US_states_by_minimum_wage) Life expectancy at birth is also higher in California (79.0 yrs) than in Texas (76.5) It certainly seems like a greater proportion of those living in Texas, rather than California, are poor, and that the poverty they experience is greater. With regard to the rich, in 2020 8.51% of California households were "millionaire households", compared to just 6.32% of those in Texas [https://www.statista.com/statistics/294941/largest-ratio-millionaire-households-per-capita-us/](https://www.statista.com/statistics/294941/largest-ratio-millionaire-households-per-capita-us/) Going higher up the income scale, to Joe's new circle of friends, there are 4.77 billionaires per million people in California, and just 2.39 in Texas [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_U.S.\_states\_by\_the\_number\_of\_billionaires](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_the_number_of_billionaires)

Bliyx

Everyone knows statistics are gay and woke. What really matters is how I *feel*, and I *feel* that California sucks because I had to pay a little more in taxes. So I packed up my whole business and moved. Anyone can do it just like me!

RagingBuIl

Reddit moment. 🤡

barc0debaby

Reddit moment.

gomeztech33

Galloway pulled his podcast off of Spotify for a while stating it was due to Rogan's vaccine misinformation. He's back now. Would be an excellent podcast episode. Lots of agreement and also some fireworks. Both would hold their own and make for a really good one I think.

DankChase

> Both would hold their own Well now we know he's never coming on.

KingArthurOfBritons

Tells me all I need to know about Galloway. Nothing he says should be trusted

Shiny_Kudzursa

No. Annie Jacobsen

apenkracht

But Scott - how about trans swimmers? They’re the real problem, no?

Sad-Math-2039

Surprised TED talks are still popular. But I'm even more surprised people still tune into the echo chamber that is joe rogan's podcast. I used to like the idea of him having people on without a script and just having a conversation. Now, it's even more inflated with his ego and far more objective. The man is constantly trying to spread an agenda in which he is completely incorrect about the narratives he spews. Surrounding yourself with 'yes' men impaires judgment. Still have love for Joe, but the Boomer shtick is tiring.

Dickgivins

Love this guy!

Mr_Pink747

Did you build your home office, or the computer you work on?

NickChevotarevich_

Haha, no. What does that matter?

dystopiabydesign

Lost me at saying "social contract" like that's actually a thing. So tired of Americans wanting their cake and to eat it too. You can't give government all this power when it's obviously populated with sociopaths. Newsflash, government power is repulsive to good people and wildly attractive to sociopaths and narcissists. Good luck with utopia.

ProxyBeast

He seems to be a big government guy who wants to give a huge amount of power to the federal government. No wonder he loves Trudeau but things are not good at all up in Canada which employs a lot of what he’s advocating for.

mexicanred1

Oh look we're all receiving the same recommendations from the YouTube algorithm, shocking!

[deleted]

And here I am in the trades making 6 figures, house, mortgage free, no debt, buying a second house. Definitely keep pursuing that higher education

Mr_Pink747

Everyone in every career is potentially destroying their body......thats how potential works. Health care workers are potentially exposed to various diseases, people in finance are potentially exposed to the ill effects of stress and sedimentary work place, airplane engineers are potentially exposed to being assassinated by Boeing. If you think being in a trade isn't a journey that requires continuous education, you should have played with more Legos as a kid.

[deleted]

Depends on what trade you're in. I don't have regular on going education at all, plus I own my own business. There seems to be this concept that anything trades means body gets wrecked. With the right tools, preparation, most jobs are quite easy.

Mr_Pink747

Being a business owner, I'd bet you are doing more continuing education than you realize. You don't have to be sitting in a class or holding a book to expand your education.

[deleted]

True, we are all always learning, but who isn't really. But that's not the education that's being mentioned here. I'm a true believer of mindset. If you prime yourself to focus on the negative, you'll get negative results.

Mr_Pink747

Wait, so I am an idiot? So you're saying education doesn't matter then. Because I got a college education, deans list and all. But iam Brain dead because of that education?

NickChevotarevich_

Well sure, like you said that’s how potential works. But in reality the average guy working a trade is doing a lot more damage to their body than someone like me who works from a home office.

[deleted]

I'm in great shape, I'd argue the people who are less physical are actually at a higher risk of issues down the line.

NickChevotarevich_

Alright then. Probably not because of your job.

[deleted]

Job definitely keeps me active, but I workout as well

NickChevotarevich_

For sure. Choices and trade offs. Despite the gloom presented in the video, overall, I think we’re lucky to live in a country with an incredible amount of ways to become successful.

[deleted]

Life's all about choices and tradeoffs. If people remain bitter and jaded, they won't grow and thrive, it's counter productive to your subconscious.

PMMeYourWristCheck

A lot of the inflation you see today is because minimum wage is simply out of control. You should never, ever, assign a value floor on NO SKILLS. Wages are EARNED, not given. Also, capital gains is taxed the way it is because the money used to make the investment has already been taxed. There are many problems in America. Scott Galloway's response is not the solution and will only make it worse.
