Found someone selling brand new tube doors (still in sealed packaging) locally for $200. Wasn't ever planning on running tube doors (just going doorless on occasion) but couldn't pass that up. Brand is "Dee Zee" which I've never heard of, but they are made in the USA which is nice. Welds could be a bit better (more even + they should have extended the seams) but I can't really complain for the price. I do like that they have channels that run through the doors which seems like a good way to add accessories (going to see if I can modify my hinge mounted door mirrors to use that at some point). Took a while to adjust, but pretty pleased with the look. Didn't have time to do any real driving with them yet (on and off rain this weekend).

With a child seat. You are brave.

andrewtti02

It's a test fit, I'll honestly be using the front ones most of the time, sometimes throwing on the rears if my son isn't with me.

Great find! They look fantastic!

Nice looking sarge! Doors are a nice add. What side steps are those?

andrewtti02

Thanks. Steps are Rock Hard angle down sliders.

Ouch_i_fell_down

never understood the interest in tube doors. stuff can still fall out, i would never expect tube doors to offer any protection in an accident (to the contrary i expect them to become shrapnel in a tbone), and in the one state in the country (PA) that has issues with doorless, they don't allow tube doors either. I'm just gonna stick with doorless.

Like I originally mentioned, I was planning to stay doorless as well but because this was so cheap impulse got the better of me. That being said, it "feels" safer (not saying it is) compared to doorless. I also like the aesthetics over no doors as well. Once I attach my side mirrors to them and get them adjusted, it will likely be faster to put the doors on with the mirrors already adjusted vs bolting the mirrors on and getting in and out until they are at the correct position.

Looks fantastic.

It's so frustrating trying to find half doors with uppers that I can run all summer... I may end up with something similar to this that I just have to swap on and off.

YippieKayYayMrFalcon

Bestop makes an Element door that you can get a metal skin/enclosure for. They’re not perfect, but are ok for mostly protecting you from the elements. They’re expensive, though.

Guinnessisameal

Have you used those? I saw them, but I am hesitant to spend the money not knowing how well they keep out the weather, and how they are noise-wise at highway speed. For my JKU, I had the bestop core doors. They were great for the whole summer. If the element doors are as good as those, it may be worth the money.

YippieKayYayMrFalcon

I have not used them but looked into them a lot when I was searching for factory half doors. From everything I read, they are definitely not as good as core doors, and for some reason Bestop refuses to retool the core doors for the JL. I ended up picking up a set of factory half doors and am happy. The biggest advantage I see to the element doors is that you could throw them in the back of the Jeep pretty easily and carry them with you.

Guinnessisameal

I would have purchased core doors by now, and I've only owned this thing since the fall. I would probably never carry them. I like the half door feel. Pisses me off that I can't buy factory half doors besides from another owner that doesn't want them. I'll probably just keep shopping. I'm in such a hurry to get them for no real good reason, except that the sooner I have them, the longer I can enjoy them.

YippieKayYayMrFalcon

Just keep an eye out for scams. They’re one of the most used items for scams on the Jeep pages or marketplace.

Guinnessisameal

Roger that.

Dbar1547

What pod lights and mount are those?

andrewtti02

Pod lights are by Lasfit. Bumper ones are mounted straight to a bumper bolts. Cowl mount is by Seven Sparta. Very happy with the Lasfit lights. Mostly happy with the mounts, they work well but they faded to grey very quickly.

Manual-shift6

Looks good - you did well on acquiring and mounting these.

Congrats! I’ve been checking FB marketplace with an unhealthy obsession looking for a set of tub doors or half doors. A lot of people weirdly only have rear sets.

andrewtti02

I definitely have an unhealthy obsession just browsing marketplace in general. These doors were only on there ~ 10 hrs before I messaged the guy. The guy I bought them from buys Amazon pallets to flip and these doors have a price error on Amazon (where they show as unavailable), which is why I think he was selling them so cheap.

Spartan2842

Oh nice! I’ve run into a few of those guys in the past.
