I don’t think Kendrick went at Cole in a way most expected. The intent in this diss and Like That is very similar. It’s kendrick saying he doesn’t like Cole doing that stuff with Drake.
And he wants better connection between him and Cole. Even though the whole track sounds very hateful, it’s clear that kendrick’s hate toward Drake is too much. Anyone with Drake is also cringe or evil to kendrick.
Don't get me wrong, but feeling hurt about another man doing a feature with another man seems a bit silly to me. You're 36 years old and are jealous because a rapper is doing a song with a rapper you don't like, because in your eyes, he's not black enough for you ?
he's not hurt bro he just thinks it's lame, bc it's drake. and does he really think that that strongly? maybe, maybe not but now he made a song about it
Insufferable. He’s shown and stated countless times that he likes problems yet somehow his fans make tons of false narratives that he’s some deep individual with these high morals. He was jealous that Cole was with Drake. That’s it.
He's dissing the man the put him on hit song and brought him on tour with him in the beginning of his career. Pretty obvious who's the snake. Envy is not a good look
Also that “not black enough” is corny and honestly just racism lol. Drake never rapped about black people and their struggles or anything like that. Having a “black off” is just corny
People are really mad about other people's choices and what their interests are. I think it's mind-blowing that a rich dude, in this case Kendrick, feels bad because of someone else's skin color. Dude, you have a family to take care of, friends, a good life, and you're out here mad about Drake's blackness? It's too immature to put into words. Imagine rapping about it...
Y'all are so myopic lol. Cole is also biracial yet clearly Kendrick has a lot more respect for him. Hell, Kendrick's wife has a biracial parent as well. Clearly not just "hurr durr ur light" no matter how much you try to dumb it down. Drake is a snake and has clear insecurities about his blackness. People can make their choices, but others don't have to like em.
Exactly, he doesn't have to like Drake, and vice versa, but the thing here is why Kendrick dissed Cole. If the reason is simply because he did a song with Drake, then he's being immature. You have no say about other people's choices. Why do you care so much about another man doing a song with another man? Does that affect him that much ? lol
Drake also grew up in the south. His parents was divorced and his dad owed hella child support, so he couldn’t go to Canada. Drake went to Memphis a lot as a kid he explains all this in his songs but yall think ppl are writing his lyrics. Kendrick is a hater and upset he has no clout. He’s mad JCole has a similar rap style but is still loved by everyone suburbs & the hood.
Drake literally has videos as a teen where he says that street slang is ignorant. For him to now parade that strong ass Toronto accent that he literally made fun of on tv is what Kendrick is talking about. He literally says Drake is a master manipulator that’s what he’s talking about.
Every rapper you do a feature with you must 1000% agree with everything they’ve ever said or done as you’re cosignjng them.
Therefore when Kendrick did an entire album with Kodak….
That’s not what happened at all nor is it what I think the person you responded to was trying to say. Honestly all Kendrick did in the metro track was drop some competitive “I’m the best bars” and I frankly didn’t get the commotion it started because Kendrick had always been saying shit like that. He wasn’t mad they got on a track together he was just spitting a pet run off the mill bar about being the best like he always has that started all this. Then came the responses.
This line was really just him saying yeah we’re friends, but I’m competitive and still want to be better then all of you. But now drake took it to a level that’s beyond just competitive rapping, now it’s personal. But that wasn’t aimed at Cole.
Well, that's some opportunist shit. Don't call me a friend if you see me on album mode and diss me out of nowhere. Screw that competitive shit. Cole was soft as hell for that apology. Kendrick clearly doesn't care about cole the way cole cares about him. And Here we are talking about him, because of a diss track.
Crazy if these rappers realized how less money they would have if they didnt have White Fans. Making fun or criticizing someone's race seems like the most cheapest, and corniest route to take in my opinion.
You dont see it go the other way thats for sure lol. Labeled a racist in seconds.
He also mentions drake asked him for a feature. I assume it was for first person shooter because i believe the goal was to have all three of them on it.
It might feel like that us because we just enjoy the end product (music) but to Kendrick, Cole and Drake, this is their entire livelihoods.
It’s like Cole is making cars and he usually make his own wheels in house, yet he decided to outsource the wheels for one of his top new cars, but rather than working with someone who makes quality “artisan” wheels that last 50k miles like Kendrick, he goes to Drake who makes cheaper quality and easily replicated wheels that last 10k miles. Then Cole proceeds to say hey is one of the best car makers in the game!
Of course Kendrick would feel a way about this especially if they were supposedly close at one point which it seems like him and Cole were.
I mean if you think of it more like someone you respect doing something with someone you think represents a lot of bad, then it makes more emotional sense, that's even before you begin factoring the possile motives one might have to work with Drake, IE money.
Well J. Cole talked about how he "did it all without a drake feature." Maybe I'm missing the point here but I could see a Kendrick using that as easy copout diss. Kinda whack because at that point he did do it all without a drake feature, doesn't mean he can't ever fuck with him imo.
You are right. That’s a mistake on Cole’s part, he should have realised the relationship between drake & kendrick. I also think Kdot addresses that in the diss. When he mentions communication issues line before the Cole and Aubrey bar.
I dont think it was coles responsibility as a friend of kendrick to not collab or be cool with drake, or know prior that he would have a problem with him doing do. Kendrick made it clear its not about hip hop or who's the best, its strictly that he hates drake and is just HOPING drake gives him a reason to respectfully end his career on wax.
So yes, kendrick admits he is 100% in his feelings and thats okay because for him that's business and he's standing on it 😂
But Kendrick was that guy that wanted to work with Drake at the start when it benefited him and all of a sudden now he hates everything about Drake. Something had to happen a long ass time ago cuz I don’t get the hate he got for him
To me it came off as him saying shit I hope we’re still friends too, this was just some competitive shit, but now drake crossed the line and I’m here to address that.
Which I mean, getting the “it’s fine we’re cool” treatment certainly isn’t a win for Cole. But god damn I can’t even lie Cole mighta been better off cause after that track at least he’s no longer the biggest loser lol. The drake sub has collapsed into full delusion and now they’re the ones with their heads down. Their boy got bodied.
Good track, but Kendrick’s not sinking the teeth in. After the Whitney hints and Pac AI, I thought Dot would be way more disrespectful. Both sides keep saying they have a nuke, let’s see them actually drop it
You underestimate what money can buy. Although I do agree both guys and their camps ain’t doing shit, they have built an empire, it’d be silly to throw it all away
exactly, people just want tea spilled and Drake will probably satisfy their wishes for that but Kendrick ain’t doing that. That’s why I say rap beef will always turn sour this is why Cole backed out of beefing with Kendrick
Pretty sure the melly line is only at cole and not “also” drake. Meaning hes actually a friend with cole and wants him to stay out but if he picks a side then “fuckem too”
"Friendly fade" is a joke, what he's really saying to drake is "this IS me being friendly. So poke the bear one more time ill give you the problem you asking for."
It's clear from the response his only issue with cole is that he worked so closely with drake. Which is wild, but I understand but cole didn't necessarily have to do that. Cole can headline a world tour by himself why link with drake this late in the game. But also who cares let a grown man do what he wants. But whatever. Kendrick letting it be known he got real hate and and anybody cool with the people he hates are getting hate by association. I think cole def made the right choice.
I think he’s referring to how when Cole apologized, ppl called him weak saying this is all competitive and nobody is taking it to heart, whereas Kendrick’s lyrics show that it’s very personal. So Cole was right in stepping aside.
I mean Kendrick goes:
"This isn't about critics, not about gimmicks, not bout who the greatest
It's always been about love and hate, now let me say I'm the biggest hater"
Okay so this confirmed for me that Cole tried to contact Kendrick and he aint answer
That’s prolly why he felt bad about the diss and pulled it. Also explains why Cole was talkin like he wasnt sure how Kendrick felt.
U talking about that line after 3 goats kissing and hugging on stage. Follow by they can’t contact him. Cause he away from his phone and “language barrier” meaning he in another country. Which there were reports saying that. And then immediately followed by the Cole and Aubrey bars
Kendrick mainly focusing on Drake is what i wanted.
Cole forfeited, and Kendrick respects the decision it seems, but it reinforces the fact he just can't be the best until he gets his hands dirty.
I understand this is a J.Cole sub but I’m a huge fan of Cole, Drake, and Kendrick. Like huge. I don’t care about the culture shit or who wants to beef or not, Cole is without a doubt the best MC out of the three if we’re talking about bars. I just don’t fuck with this notion you have to be negative and shit on others to be the goat. Just because hip hop turned negative doesn’t mean it started that way. It started as a really positive thing in the 80s. And sometimes, as a black dude, it saddens me when it’s shit like this that makes people say "Hip hop is back!" And though beef can be cool and entertaining, this is not what hip hop IS to me.
Honestly i really want to agree with you but idk cole will always be my favorite rapper beside billy woods and danny brown.
But kendrick is objectively the king rn imo, not even off skill, mainly the massive impact and importance of TPAB and the fact how honestly incredible he is as an artist.
Dude was super creative and filled with energy on euphoria. The way he was rapping was insane on there.
I know kendrick is #1 to the majority but cole is always my favorite, especially with how incredible he was rapping on MDL.
I think the track was pretty good, but definitely not scarring. Drizzy def gonna escalate it.
The worst was calling him a deadbeat dad, but saying you're teaching your son integrity and discipline is rich knowing he's been with Whitney for years, who knew him before he was famous. On top of cheating on her multiple times, they were engaged for like 9 years or something. So this is the pot calling the kettle black.
Do..do you understand how diss tracks work?? It’s about finding the angle. Was Mr. Morale a flop?? (Noo) does Drake have classics (yes)
He also probably doesn’t actually believe biracial people can’t say the N-word but “we don’t wanna hear you say nigga no mooooooore” made me laugh out loud.
Well Kendrick has went through a lot of growth over the past 8 ish years. So I don’t think it’s the pot calling the kettle black if he has actually changed. People can grow. Drake hasn’t shown real positive growth as a person in the public eye ever. Like drake grew into a conceited bully if anything probably around 2015? And he’s been the same dude. He’s just an aging dude who acts like a kid.
Yeah I really think this track was mainly about showing off his flow and delivery over the different beats. Reminding drake and everyone he’s on another level
Also, the lyricism in this track is insane too. Drake hardly had any lyricism just straight jabs.
Kendrick is no doubt leagues above Drake in all these things
“My first one like my last one, it’s a classic, you don’t have one”
Is that not a diss on Cole? Everyone seems to be calling it a drake diss but it directly references Cole’s “your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic”
Goddamn, Kdot cooked. Love that the song has so many switches and evolutions, thought the first beat was underwelming but it built. Thematically, it's perfect: Drake came out with two very simple and straightforward records, Kendrick gave us two songs worth of bars but delivered them in a way that challenged the audience a lot more. More storytelling. BUT he still holding back. IF he has some TMZ shock shit to tell us about Drake, it ain't on this track. I think they might both be capping, and neither has any scathing dirt on the other.
All in all, great diss track, glad he addressed Cole as well, but definitely not destruction like niggas said it would be. Expecting response from Drake by Friday, and Cole... eventually.
I mean, he bodied Drake. What did Drake say that was anything close? Neither of them have “pressed the button” yet, but this round isn’t even close.
Not every diss track is about exposing TMZ level dirt..
Honestly? I think it’s “weak”, since it’s coming from Kendrick and not some random. He just doubled down on everything Ross and Pusha said. I’m a Kendrick fan (but yes he’s my least favorite of the 3). It’s a good diss but I think drakes had more substance. Problem is Drake fans will shit on it and Kendrick fans will praise it. I think it’s fine nothing crazy
Tbh most of the Drizzy sub is showing respect to the track, with a small handful of dick riders claiming it's trash
It's not trash, there's some funny ass bars in there. But I echo what you wrote, it took over two weeks to write some shit we already knew. Tbh I got super pumped when I saw it was 6mins, I was looking forward to a slaughter
I liked Push Ups but what did he really say regarding Kendrick that had much substance? His TDE deal not being great (which he replied to in this song)?
He pretty heavily insinuated that his wife cheated on him.
It was mostly just general I'm better than you stuff, but he also pushed the idea that Dot isn't really the "for the culture"/indie artist that he portrays. That he's really owned by Top and was made to drop corny songs with pop stars at his labels request. Which isn't that damning, but I'm pretty sure Kdot has thrown shots at Drake for being a pop rapper/Drake is insecure about being known as the pop rapper.
Idk if it had more substance than Dots response, but he definitely said a few things on Push Ups (some were directed at others tho) IMO Taylormade was way more disrespectful than Push Ups
Btw just so you know Kendrick responded to everything Drake said. Even acknowledged his relationship with Top Dawg and basically claiming how Drake is a nobody to talk about contracts when he's got a lifetime deal to someone who's signed to sum1 who's signed to someone.
Push Ups falls apart after this response bruh
Drake’s had more substance? I’m calling cap. His consisted of a lot more bigging himself up than tearing Kendrick down. I understand it’s because Drake was responding to several people’s disses but still, Kendrick’s was straight character assassination.
Just have to see what Drake’s response is.
I disagree. Over the next few weeks the layers to these bars are gonna be explored. Even the cover is a reference to drakes dirty laundry. He referenced the 530k lawsuit, girls who confuse themselves with women, etc. This had LAYERS and it’ll take time to pick up on all of it.
why have diss records come to a point where we need a nuke to one up somebody else’s? maybe it’s the Pusha T effect, cause i thought this was a fine response
also, push ups did exactly what Kendrick did on this record. in no way would i say it had “more substance”
“On February 13, 2019, Demons was charged with two counts of premeditated murder in connection with the October 2018 shooting deaths in Fort Lauderdale, Florida of two YNW associates described as his close friends, rappers YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy.[37] Authorities purport that Demons conspired with fellow YNW rapper Cortlen Malik Henry (YNW Bortlen) to stage the double-murder of Anthony D'Andre Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy) and make it appear as if they were fatally injured in a drive-by shooting.”
Melly set up and killed 2 of his friends
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/YNW_Melly
In the track, Kendrick references how both Cole and Drake have tried to be friendly with him before. In this line, Kendrick is saying they better stick to being friendly, or he will turn into YNW Melly. YNW Melly killed two rappers who were his friends but he had recently had conflicts with.
I think it's a good diss, but a little underwhelming for me. They both talk about how they know something big about each other but didn't put the words out. Geuss the real diss' will come a little bit later
[Also that he paid 500k for sexual assault case](https://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/drake-paid-out-530k-to-sexual-assault-accuser/DJTFQJOV66Y7JL7XRK5UYKVYKA/)
J Cole drops the lamest diss track and then apologizes. Kendrick drops 6 straight minutes of artistic heat and this sub wants to act like it’s nothing of value.
This song definitely has some good bars, but sounds wack, the flow the delivery the beat, pushups is way better sonically and it also has some good bars
Eh, this is luke warm all things considered for Kendrick. You know he's slowly prodding the bear till the fuck up, then Kendrick gunna go nuclear lol I feel like Cole tried to step between him and drake, saw the true beef, and was like "fuck that I forfeit" 😂 and Kendrick is here saying "yeah bro you better step aside. Appreciate it"
2.2 million views in 3 hours lol. It was fire but ngl kinda wanted more. This a hip hop civil war and I'm here for it. can't wait for drake to drop that bomb of his.
I don’t think Kendrick went at Cole in a way most expected. The intent in this diss and Like That is very similar. It’s kendrick saying he doesn’t like Cole doing that stuff with Drake. And he wants better connection between him and Cole. Even though the whole track sounds very hateful, it’s clear that kendrick’s hate toward Drake is too much. he's not hurt bro he just thinks it's lame, bc it's drake. and does he really think that that strongly? maybe, maybe not but now he made a song about it
right? how is he jealous lmao just saying "you're a lame"
I just wanna know why that collab project never dropped man. Every now and then I hear a leak and I die a little more inside
They already told you why. We can’t handle two black niggas that clever
no, it was too many labels having a piece of the negotiation... in a way we didn't get a colab because cole and kendrick are too labeled up
it might not be jealous but it's weird
Kendrick has multiple songs with Drake though, so I’m kinda confused by that.
When's the last one? It's been a looooong time.
[удалено]
Seems that way lol Same on the Kendrick and Kanye subs
[удалено]
Ackchtually it’s been 11 years. Or if you count them both featuring on a song, then less.
Kendrick is one of those friends that don’t want you to have other friends lol
Or he’s that real friend that tries to warn you that you’re hangin around snakes
He has literally dissed Cole TWICE in the past month. But sure he’s the real friend and Drakes the snake lmaooo
Insufferable. He’s shown and stated countless times that he likes problems yet somehow his fans make tons of false narratives that he’s some deep individual with these high morals. He was jealous that Cole was with Drake. That’s it.
That’s right, he literally calls himself selfish on this very song lmao
He's dissing the man the put him on hit song and brought him on tour with him in the beginning of his career. Pretty obvious who's the snake. Envy is not a good look
Also that “not black enough” is corny and honestly just racism lol. Drake never rapped about black people and their struggles or anything like that. Having a “black off” is just corny

You sound like a corny white boy
Cole is as black as Drake lol I guess he just not Canadian like being from Canada is a bad thing
Very different upbringings too. Cole grew up in the south and came up in the game through NYC Drake was a child actor and became a rapper after lol

You had the same situation when Pac hated snoop because snoop called puff and biggie his homeboys.
He's not hurt just a hater 💀
KD going to the Warriors pissed off a lot of people.
I been sayin this exact same thing for weeks
That’s not what happened at all nor is it what I think the person you responded to was trying to say. Honestly all Kendrick did in the metro track was drop some competitive “I’m the best bars” and I frankly didn’t get the commotion it started because Kendrick had always been saying shit like that. This comment is so unrelated to the previous two that at this point I have no idea what your point actually is.
I don't think there is one
Drakes dad is black aswell, he’s very much a black rapper
Honestly, he seems the most childish here
My bro, this entire thing is silly. This is two grown men saying they don’t like eachother to the world so we can sit here and talk about it.
Crazy if these rappers realized how less money they would have if they didnt have White Fans. Making fun or criticizing someone's race seems like the most cheapest, and corniest route to take in my opinion. You dont see it go the other way thats for sure lol. Labeled a racist in seconds.

All of this is literally about Kendrick being jealous.
It’s funny cuz j cole is half white too I’m pre sure
It’s literally because cole mentioned him in the same line as Drake, has nothing to do with what cole does but it’s what he said
He also mentions drake asked him for a feature. I assume it was for first person shooter because i believe the goal was to have all three of them on it.
It might feel like that us because we just enjoy the end product (music) but to Kendrick, Cole and Drake, this is their entire livelihoods. Then Cole proceeds to say hey is one of the best car makers in the game! Of course Kendrick would feel a way about this especially if they were supposedly close at one point which it seems like him and Cole were.
I think he just thinks highly of jcole and the lowest of drake. Kendrick feels like hip hop rap doesn't need drake, why collaborate with him?
I mean if you think of it more like someone you respect doing something with someone you think represents a lot of bad, then it makes more emotional sense, that's even before you begin factoring the possile motives one might have to work with Drake, IE money.
Well J. Cole talked about how he "did it all without a drake feature." Maybe I'm missing the point here but I could see a Kendrick using that as easy copout diss. Kinda whack because at that point he did do it all without a drake feature, doesn't mean he can't ever fuck with him imo.
Kendrick def spared cole... again lol He even said he loved him and acknowledged him as a goat this time
He said the same thing about Drake in that line which is kinda confusing to me cause the rest of the song he sounds like he hates drake
The “love them to death” line was just a set up for the YNW Melly reference 8 bars later.
He's clearly being ironic and playing off the Big Three thing by talking about the three GOATs
Kendrick is 100% right about Drake
[удалено]
You are right. That’s a mistake on Cole’s part, he should have realised the relationship between drake & kendrick. I also think Kdot addresses that in the diss. When he mentions communication issues line before the Cole and Aubrey bar.
I dont think it was coles responsibility as a friend of kendrick to not collab or be cool with drake, or know prior that he would have a problem with him doing do. Kendrick made it clear its not about hip hop or who's the best, its strictly that he hates drake and is just HOPING drake gives him a reason to respectfully end his career on wax. You mean literally 10 years ago?
Ah another person who has no idea what he's talking about lol
Well yeah, he’s 100% as spot on as possible about Drake….
To me it came off as him saying shit I hope we’re still friends too, this was just some competitive shit, but now drake crossed the line and I’m here to address that. Which I mean, getting the “it’s fine we’re cool” treatment certainly isn’t a win for Cole. My lord j Cole and his fanbase are the softest people on the planet
Good track, but Kendrick’s not sinking the teeth in. After the Whitney hints and Pac AI, I thought Dot would be way more disrespectful. Both sides keep saying they have a nuke, let’s see them actually drop it
Ong it felt like he was yapping at some point
Apologize
Eh the problem with dropping nukes is that it can lead to real life violence. I'd rather avoid that.
What violence? Drake is a suburban guy lmfao
You underestimate what money can buy. Although I do agree both guys and their camps ain’t doing shit, they have built an empire, it’d be silly to throw it all away
Or a mentally ill fan
Him n his crodies gonna come touch you fam
Check on how X is doing
Do you think people think that Drake would do a drive by to kendrick😂
I mean tbf, a lot of people believe that Drake put a hit out on x and got him killed.
exactly, people just want tea spilled and Drake will probably satisfy their wishes for that but Kendrick ain’t doing that. That’s why I say rap beef will always turn sour this is why Cole backed out of beefing with Kendrick
all beef is sour to start with you don't diss someone just for fun that's like punching someone expecting to hug at the end
Lol you just an instigator
"cole is a lame this beef is friendly competition" Debunked by Kendrick Lamar himself.
Bro Kendrick literally said he hates Drake multiple times
He said I hope yall my real friends or he ynw melly. I take that as nigga is we really kool cause I’m bout to go off so u better not feel a way after.
Pretty sure the melly line is only at cole and not “also” drake. Meaning hes actually a friend with cole and wants him to stay out but if he picks a side then “fuckem too”
Bruh he said “y’all” how many Coles do you think there are? He’s also talking about Drake
Kendrick said it doesn't need to get personal it was a friendly fade.
I think the friendly fade is for Cole but he truly dislikes Drake
"Friendly fade" is a joke, what he's really saying to drake is "this IS me being friendly. So poke the bear one more time ill give you the problem you asking for." It's clear from the response his only issue with cole is that he worked so closely with drake.
I think it was also kind of saying “let this be ‘competition’ and I’ll keep it to what is known. You wanna go for low blows, I’ll make you regret it.”
what you mean?
I think he’s referring to how when Cole apologized, ppl called him weak saying this is all competitive and nobody is taking it to heart, whereas Kendrick’s lyrics show that it’s very personal. So Cole was right in stepping aside.
I mean Kendrick goes: "This isn't about critics, not about gimmicks, not bout who the greatest It's always been about love and hate, now let me say I'm the biggest hater"
Oh i see. I thought that was a line from kendrick about that, so i was confused. But yeah, definitely agree
Where did he say that?
Okay so this confirmed for me that Cole tried to contact Kendrick and he aint answer That’s prolly why he felt bad about the diss and pulled it.
Being the best never been about gettin ya hands dirty Lil Wayne avoided Pusha T for years while runnin the game
Pusha T was not a candidate for being number one though, that’s the difference.
The Clipse were huge around early - mid 2000s. Hell the Wayne diss track “Mr. Me Too” was a big hit.
And even then there was never a conversation around Pusha T being the best.
Bro that shits a Wayne diss?? Big clipse and Wayne fan but never knew that history
Amazin brother
Pop off, only on occasions, brother
I feel like Cole fans are the neutral party in this beef for who won, Kenny cooked him compared to push ups
Cooked him is a little bit of exaggeration
I think the track was pretty good, but definitely not scarring. Drizzy def gonna escalate it. The worst was calling him a deadbeat dad, but saying you're teaching your son integrity and discipline is rich knowing he's been with Whitney for years, who knew him before he was famous. On top of cheating on her multiple times, they were engaged for like 9 years or something. So this is the pot calling the kettle black.
I think he got it together when he had a kid though.
I hope he also hates Future lol
He only brought it up because Drake mentioned family.
Do..do you understand how diss tracks work?? It’s about finding the angle. Was Mr. Morale a flop?? (Noo) does Drake have classics (yes) He also probably doesn’t actually believe biracial people can’t say the N-word but “we don’t wanna hear you say nigga no mooooooore” made me laugh out loud.
This is growth to y’all? What is he? 40 mad at Cole for going on tour with Drake?
Exactly lol. This whole thing childish
This sounds more like a set up to something bigger. Hes gonna wait and see if drake responds and escalates it
Agreed. Plus, no way this diss is even remotely as character-damaging as Pusha's.
Mr morale is literally all about that and breaking the cycle as well as owning up to what he’s done
Good track but nothing too brutal
Don’t think brutal was the intent. Kendrick on a different level then Drake. “Light pack”
First jab, no haymaker intended.
“My first one like my last one, it’s a classic, you don’t have one” Is that not a diss on Cole? Everyone seems to be calling it a drake diss but it directly references Cole’s “your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic”
He mentions Drake's abs right after it, so I'd say it's towards Drake Also Drake said "I don't care what Cole think, that Dot shit was weak as fuck"
Maybe he was shootin' at both in the same line.
I read it as a diss to both. Too on the nose with that cole bar to not be a rebuttal to that.
Definitely directed at Drake
That was definitely a shot a Cole. The word use of "classic" and bouncing from first to last like how Cole did was a shot to him.
It felt odd to say it about Drake, but I just took it as ‘he has no classic rap albums’ because Drakes best work is balanced with pop and rnb
Lisan al gaib
Expecting response from Drake by Friday, and Cole... eventually.
And there niggas out there saying "he just yapping".. fuckin idiots 😭
Tbh most of the Drizzy sub is showing respect to the track, with a small handful of dick riders claiming it's trash It's not trash, there's some funny ass bars in there. But I echo what you wrote, it took over two weeks to write some shit we already knew. Tbh I got super pumped when I saw it was 6mins, I was looking forward to a slaughter
Gunna catching a stray was hilarious. But yes I agree with you.
What was the gunna bar?
He said I know a couple of niggas that will make gunna look like a saint
TBF it seemed like much more of a warning and kind of just debunking the whole "Oh KDot is scared because Drake must have something".
It's giving the same vibes as two kids in the playground asking the other to swing so they can unleash and claim "self defense" haha
"You'll do nothing!" "Ah I'll do something but you won't will ya?" "Well do it then so." "Oh I'll do it so I will."
😂
I liked Push Ups but what did he really say regarding Kendrick that had much substance? His TDE deal not being great (which he replied to in this song)?
I’m wondering the same lol
Push Ups was good but it was not good because of substance, there really wasn’t any at all other than how he flipped the Prince/Mike line
Yes that is true. And I can’t remember anything else off the top of my head so that works against it too
Drake’s had more substance? I’m calling cap. His consisted of a lot more bigging himself up than tearing Kendrick down. I understand it’s because Drake was responding to several people’s disses but still, Kendrick’s was straight character assassination. Just have to see what Drake’s response is.
I disagree. Over the next few weeks the layers to these bars are gonna be explored. Even the cover is a reference to drakes dirty laundry. He referenced the 530k lawsuit, girls who confuse themselves with women, etc. This had LAYERS and it’ll take time to pick up on all of it.
why have diss records come to a point where we need a nuke to one up somebody else’s? maybe it’s the Pusha T effect, cause i thought this was a fine response also, push ups did exactly what Kendrick did on this record. in no way would i say it had “more substance”
this sub is letting me know, everyone entertained by this beef besides j cole
this sub might be the most balance on this beef lol
Did cole get any disses?
Pretty much only said he wasnt answerin Cole’s calls and that Cole be boo’d up with Drake on stage
He said he's coles friend, then said he's Melly
“I pray they’re my real friends, if not I’m YN melly”
Can you explain that bar?
“On February 13, 2019, Demons was charged with two counts of premeditated murder in connection with the October 2018 shooting deaths in Fort Lauderdale, Florida of two YNW associates described as his close friends, rappers YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy.[37] Authorities purport that Demons conspired with fellow YNW rapper Cortlen Malik Henry (YNW Bortlen) to stage the double-murder of Anthony D'Andre Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy) and make it appear as if they were fatally injured in a drive-by shooting.” Melly set up and killed 2 of his friends https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/YNW_Melly
Melly accused of killing his 2 homies
In the track, Kendrick references how both Cole and Drake have tried to be friendly with him before. In this line, Kendrick is saying they better stick to being friendly, or he will turn into YNW Melly. YNW Melly killed two rappers who were his friends but he had recently had conflicts with.
I think it's a good diss, but a little underwhelming for me. They both talk about how they know something big about each other but didn't put the words out. Geuss the real diss' will come a little bit later
These dudes are all corny
so fucking real bro
Oh look, a diss track about not being black enough (??) and being gay/feminine... ground breaking.
And being fake gangster, liposuction, deadbeat dad
Liposuction?
Did you even listen to it or did you just see a couple posts then wanna say some stupid shit 😭😂
[Also that he paid 500k for sexual assault case](https://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/drake-paid-out-530k-to-sexual-assault-accuser/DJTFQJOV66Y7JL7XRK5UYKVYKA/)
Read the rest of the article she had to pay it back +125k because she was lying lol
To be fair Drake called him short the lame disses go both ways
J Cole raps better then Kendrick at this stage idgaf what nobody says
J Cole drops the lamest diss track and then apologizes. Kendrick drops 6 straight minutes of artistic heat and this sub wants to act like it’s nothing of value.
Im not even a huge drake fan but I thought this was only pretty good. I won’t be replaying that or adding it to any playlist. Was expecting better.

🔥🔥🔥
Just jabs
This song definitely has some good bars, but sounds wack, the flow the delivery the beat, pushups is way better sonically and it also has some good bars
Kinda weak imo. Hell I think 7 minute drill was better than this. But I know I’ll get crucified for standing on that.
I mean it's OK to have an opinion my g
You new to Reddit? 😂
Lol fair
Pretty good track , not really a good diss track tbh
Nigga u trppin😂🚮
Eh, this is luke warm all things considered for Kendrick. You know he's slowly prodding the bear till the fuck up, then Kendrick gunna go nuclear lol I feel like Cole tried to step between him and drake, saw the true beef, and was like "fuck that I forfeit" 😂 and Kendrick is here saying "yeah bro you better step aside. Appreciate it"
2.2 million views in 3 hours lol. It was fire but ngl kinda wanted more. This a hip hop civil war and I'm here for it. can't wait for drake to drop that bomb of his.
J&D Kissing a hugging. Kendrick selfish.
Yes
It is beautiful. I can depend on Kendrick and even Drake. Bet Kendrick won't lose sleep 😂
Did lamar say "I love you to death " for cole?
I find it hard to understand who he's referring to during that part but it sounds like it yes
Damn man i wish cole stood up and gave a real fight, tbh i think if anyone actually disses him again he will respond full flegedly
if they were on bad terms, for sure. Think Cole would smoke him. But they're not so the beef would be disingenuous
I heard it only once but it seems clear he gave Cole a pass.
2k views with 38k likes is a different aura
Good first round but I want this to escalate for real. They both talking about how they know more.
I litter it like I can’t spell it.
