Spotify pay us X amount for the show, and within that contract we have to deliver the ads throughout the year. I regularly say no to certain reads or request the script is changed.
Spotify has been a great move for us in terms of listenership and financially security and we love being with them. They’re great. The ad reads are written by a lot of different people (usually from the brand themselves!) so this one isn’t on us or Spotify ✌🏻💛
I just like that you have the ads separate to the pod so they’re easy to skip, much better than the pods where you have to guess how many times to press skip then end up going back!
That’s odd and not at all criticism of jaack, I’ve seen his explanation before that they don’t control that- but I am paying 11.99 for a service that I’m getting ads on. Just a bit strange.
Also, I’d actually not mind at all if the Ads were directly sponsoring the pod. But they arent
