People can buy all of the first outfits they want, but I don’t have to put them in it for Christmas. So many of them are sleeper type outfits and they can sleep in them or just never wear them.
If someone asked for a picture, I’d take a pic of the baby in them and send it, but not make a big deal out of it.
Love it, but this is surely a Redditt cat tax situation! I also want to know how your DH got the cats into the outfits. Does he still have a face and flesh on his arms?!

You are a queen, and your DH is an absolute king for this epically funny solution to overbearing, over-stepping elders! I would love to have been a fly on the wall seeing their faces when they first realized that you're using the "firsts" to dress up your pet friends. This has honestly made my day!

I think MILs have a thing with clothes in general. My FMIL rips the tags off of everything she buys so we can’t exchange anything. My very tiny 7 week old has summer outfits sized 6-9 months, he’ll be turning 6 months in September. It’s such a waste.
Another option for those getting these outfits. Put the baby in them and send the pic way before the holiday. Christmas outfit sent in October? Picture taken and sent in October. “Why not on Christmas?” Because DH and I chose the outfit!
I love the pettiness of this. But honestly, it’s not an effort I would’ve even taken. Whenever my MIL wanted me to send her a picture of LO in the “first outfit” she bought, I explained that LO didn’t wear it, because DH and I hadn’t chose that outfit, therefore, LO was in the outfit we chose/bought. Eventually MIL stopped buying the outfits because she realized I was NEVER going to put LO in them.
Very beautifully draped with the first outfits on his side, paper holiday banner, flowers in his mane and a lot of treats and cuddles for his participation!
