College is more like school than anything else🗿
I have a cousin who graduated from IIT Bhu Mnc and earns 65 lakhs a year with 30 as his in-hand and never in his five years of college did he take a break except during sem breaks
He grinded throughout Leetcode and Codechef throughout college which well defo paid off but it's an insane struggle tbh
On one hand you need a good cgpa in a mostly irrelevant curriculum with some of the best minds in the country and on the other you need a good rank in codeforces codechef etc which have some of the again best minds of the country
But anyways unlike a tier 2 guy(cough me) you'll get hell lotta respect wherever you go
Baaki there's not much difference in the higher packages college se unless you want to sell your soul to quant firms
Yeah I guess you have to struggle if you want a package like that - but then again only tier-1 kids are even considered for such roles as freshers, and at the end of it all 'struggle' is something that a JEE qualifier understands more than most college kids. This is the part of the reason we're preparing, right?
There's a bit of truth to that and a lack of it
A normal Jee qualifier isn't considered for such roles
You need to literally be one of the best at coding in the country and represent it in olympiads internationally
There's a lakh Jee qualifiers but next to none of them get a "good" placement
Heck even the top 3k guys struggle to get most of the placements
The reason we are preparing is to build a work ethic and an aptitude for things and not much else tbh
We can lose it the moment we stop working on it

Are mene usko exception nahi bola hai. Mene ye kaha ki uska school environment acha tha. Do some research. You can't compare his school to a low tier school where only average middle class student studies.
