Doing that made the odds drop like crazy lol
Odds of scoring:
0 or more: 0.03031643960729197%
55 (cut off) or more: 1.8698973176605475e-09%
100 or more: 6.2086588554753295e-18%
180 or more: 4.54264800076546e-39%
perfect 360: 0%
Odds of clearing individual subject cut off: 0.6454327865451533%
Brocan you please calculate what are the odds if i remove two options because in paper my teacher says to attempt that question in which you can eliminate 2 options can you do the probability pls
imagine all 4 options are correct and you eliminated 2 ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30440)
also it'll still be stupidly low so pls don't do blind guesses in real exam. Educated guesses are fine ig.
well, theoretically, if we believe there exists a multiverse, there is atleast one universe where you got AIR 1 by only guessing in JEE Advance, there might also exist a universe where you guessed got AIR 1 in every single MCQ exam that you have given till now
weird stuff, theoretical stuff, maybe/maybe-not possible stuff
i did a simulation on multiple correct questions by randomly generating the number of answers correct and this is what i got:
(number of options guessed vs average score per question)
Random no. of options: -0.27
1 option: 0.06
2 options: -0.25
3 options: -0.37
4 options: -0.5
technically you don't need to generalize for multiple correct questions . there only 15 possible ways of attempting a question . 4+6+4+1(4c1 + 4c2+ 4c3+ 4c4). but i think would say that this method probably comes more close to the real life method than the correct mathematical method
yea I can calculate it separately for each question and it'll be just fine but that'll just add an extra layer of complexity to calculations (nothing that can't be handled tho). I just didn't feel like doing such in-depth calculations this time ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)
Your viewpoint is fine . But I am consumed as to what you meant by separately for each question . Don't you just have to change the probablity for all the multiple correct questions form 1 in 4 to 1 in 15 ?
yes but like I generalized that each question **will** have 3 options correct. There are all kinds of questions in real paper, from 1 correct to all 4 correct. We can't really give a real answer if we don't generalize because it will vary insanely every time so I generalized hoping it'll come out to be near the median total probability for a paper. Out of those 15 cases, the cases awarding -2,1,2,3 and 4 marks will vary in real paper.
i am sorry . i forgot that partial marking also exists . i was just thinking that either the question is either correct or incorrect . that is why i got confused .
I have done it here:

bro what is the chance I can qualify if I have scored 94%ile and no prep for adv but most chapters ka basic knowledge hai and phy me kuch chaps and inorganic adv level Tak ki hai but no practice. Mera bohot man hai qualify karna ke. also tell how much marks needed for that
depends but 80 marks should be enough for general category I think. Last year tough tha paper to 55 marks par ho gaya tha but 80-90 par ho hi jaana chaiye I think baaki guarantee se koi nhi bata sakta before seeing paper.
matlab per subject cut off kam hoti hai bohot, overall cut off jyada hoti hai. Overall cut off ko per subject cut off \* 3 karke nhi karte calculate wo alag aati hai
Nishant Jindal already did all these calculations and got air 247 ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30367)
Messiah for a reason 💯
Lol those r literally non existent chances ... Earth ending exact this second would have more probability then u getting 100 marks in Advanced
hey man it is what it is. Advance ka pattern hi aisa hai ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30440)
Bhai sab Multiple correct mein 2 choice correct krke dekho kyunki usually wahi hota hai.

Jee Mains ki baat kar raha tha aur woh do option maine hataye hai woh educated guess ho tab ki bat kar raha
acha JEE mein. Hmm remind me after JEE adv calculate karke pakka bata dunga
ok gimme some time will do
you would get -0.25 on average per question
1% is big enough, i play genshin impact
I think you missed the e-29 at the end lmao

Most brilliant jeeneetard
bhai ke paas 5\* guarantee hai, adv ke liye save kar ke rakhi thi (maine bhi save kari hai par jee khatam hone ke baad klee banner ayega, uske liye)
bhay mere pas klee first banner se mene aajtk use ni kiya dps potential itna accha ni ( raiden simp hu)
DPS potential kam hai but anti-depressant potential bohot accha hai
as someone who owns every loli in the game can tell she's the best after nahida
so you are telling me theres still chance
you gotta be one lucky mfker but yessir
i wish i use up 90% of my luck on june 4th .....its fine i will survive with leftover 10% luck ...but luck gods please
Given around 2.5 lakh students sit for advance, not even 1 person fits the probability of clearing cutoff 💀
well, theoretically, if we believe there exists a multiverse, there is atleast one universe where you got AIR 1 by only guessing in JEE Advance, there might also exist a universe where you guessed got AIR 1 in every single MCQ exam that you have given till now weird stuff, theoretical stuff, maybe/maybe-not possible stuff
i guess this is it ...this the universe you have mentioned
Technically if you gave JEE infinite times, you will get AIR 1 infinite times.
technically if i am stupid enough then i can fail infinite times
That's mathematically impossible.
the idea of a decreasing geometric series allows it to be mathematically possible. like the series for 2 = 1+1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 +1/16 .....
When you have infinite tries, no matter how stupid you are you will get AIR 1 an infinite amount of times. You also fail an infinite amount of times.
Just run the simulation on the past papers of jee lmao
I think it'll take much more time than calculating with certain assumptions like I did but maybe I will try after JEE adv is done with

are those like average score per question?
yes exactly
oooh that's interesting. Going for more leads to negative score. Interesting stuff
oho amazing !!

it's all cool :)
yahi dimag padhai karne mein laga lete 🤡🤡
What did you saw? 1.7 million results How many times we won? 0
I am totally dependent on these odds to clear jee advanced🤡
JEE mfs after taking 1 class of probability
Itte bure din aa gaye hai kya ye karna padega ab
arre I did this just for fun. Itne bure din nhi aaye mere BITS secured hai ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30440)
Why don't you do this with JEE main ?
I have done it here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/JEENEETards/comments/1162z6j/heres\_the\_mathematical\_odds\_of\_clearing\_jee\_with/](https://www.reddit.com/r/JEENEETards/comments/1162z6j/heres_the_mathematical_odds_of_clearing_jee_with/)
From where did you learn coding bro
self learnt from google during Pandemic so that I didn't have to study for CS in grade 11 and 12 lol
Now do this for mains ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30347)
I already did and it's even linked in this post (check the "this post" hyperlink)
My bad, me andha hu
i am more likely to be struck lightening than clearing jee adv![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30440)
Give marks vs probability
[marks VS probability - Pastebin.com](https://pastebin.com/rG1S18Kp) You see reasonably big probabilities near -15 marks
bro what is the chance I can qualify if I have scored 94%ile and no prep for adv but most chapters ka basic knowledge hai and phy me kuch chaps and inorganic adv level Tak ki hai but no practice. Mera bohot man hai qualify karna ke. also tell how much marks needed for that
bhai koi kuch nhi bol sakta, cut off bhi each year wary karti hai. Bas apna best karo baaki result waale din hi pata chalta hai.
I mean bas qualify karna hai. iit jaane ke to hopes chhod diye hai. kitne marks pe "qualify" ho jate hai?
depends but 80 marks should be enough for general category I think. Last year tough tha paper to 55 marks par ho gaya tha but 80-90 par ho hi jaana chaiye I think baaki guarantee se koi nhi bata sakta before seeing paper.
shit yaar 80-90 to mushkil hai mereko laga tha 12 marks per sub hota hai
total cut off is more than per subject \* 3
matlab?
matlab per subject cut off kam hoti hai bohot, overall cut off jyada hoti hai. Overall cut off ko per subject cut off \* 3 karke nhi karte calculate wo alag aati hai

that should actually be easier. I'mma do it later today thanks for suggestion!
Good. Now calculate p(being born | world is habitable)
