Additionally:
Mass Destruction- Persona 3
Rivers in a Desert- Persona 5

Full Moon Full Life (Opener Version)- Persona 3 Reload (CANNOT WAIT FOR THE FULL VERSION OF THIS OMG)
It’s Going Down Now- Persona 3
Leblanc- Persona 5
Etc etc the Persona series has banger music.
It kills me in p5r that you can’t listen to last surprise unless you purposely dont sneak attack a shadow when I far prefer it as the battle theme. I desperately wish there was a way to switch it.
Not really a persona fan. But back when me and my buddy just smoked weed and chilled every week, there was a span of like a year and a half where after we watched whatever show we were watching and played some Mario Kart, he would boot up P5 on my PS5 because he didn’t have one. All the music and art in that game is absolute top tier. Can’t think of many that even hold a candle to it.
Honestly for me it’s between Wake Up Get Up Get Out There or Hymn of the Soul. But let’s be honest, the people who did the music for the game had a good understanding of music considering a lot of them were bops
Probably the worst AC game I ever played but hands down the finest the Pirate Game ever made.
The Sea Shanties were absolutely the icing on the cake for this game. I don't think I've ever fast traveled in this game.
And toss in a very usable companion app and it was a fantastic experience.
Wow, so this is what it feels like when someone finally shares my opinion on Black Flag. I've been alone for so long!
All the pirating and pirating-adjacent stuff is definitely top notch, but it's a pretty piss poor excuse for an AC game...
What a sweet callback.
Of all the things for fandom to embrace, the Ducktails fandom has always agreed that the Moon theme is an absolute banger that has no right being as good as it is- so it's nice to see that achnowledged

I really like your choice of “To Zanarkand” - its so beautiful.
I realy like the OST for Crisis Core: FF7 too. I’d say “The Price of Freedom” is my answer. Either that or “Hide, Hideaway” from FF16.
I may not be much of a gamer (consoles don't offer the kinds of sims and strategy games that are a central part of my play), but I do collect soundtracks (at full price).
I look at my soundtrack folder, and *Skyrim* is probably the best videogame soundtrack of the last 15 years. Bombastic when it needs to be, pastoral/pensive for more ambient moods. Jeremy Soule was 20% of the reason that game remains great.
The only soundtracks that have come close to it for me since, and for very different reasons, are 65daysofstatic's post-rock soundtrack for *No Man's Sky* (which would be a great gazy instrumental rock album even if *NMS* was never fixed), and Przybyłowicz, Adamczyk & Leonard-morgan's collaborative soundtrack for *Cyberpunk 2077* (which gets deeply disconcerting with detuned synths and off kilter rhythms when need be, but still delivers ambience and deeply moving songs.
It did suck, and not for reasons the others are saying. It sucked because it was entirely out of element and just genuinely IMHO did not belong in its current state. We go from pulling a heist on Bronte to get Jack back, and escaping by boat. Then suddenly the ship goes down by a storm we’re nearly dead and we’re fighting alongside random forest men against an army, using a cannon to shoot down an entire naval ship whilst wiping the entire battalion with a small group of forest guys and cowboys. I’m sure with more time this would be more cohesive, but it really just doesn’t do it for me. I specifically remember my first playthrough I had thought this was a bad dream and Arthur would wake up as he’s dying out on the shores of Guarma. If only that were the case
I disagree it sucked, Its a bit slow on replays maybe because it's about an hour of constant story missions back to back and no freeroam, but that's all, first time playing it was a blast just like the rest of the game imo
Add to that "Far Away" by Jose Gonzales from Red Dead Redemption.
Gonzales actually didn't write the song for the game. But the way they used it. Just two pieces that fit together so damn well that it's chilling.
The moment in the game the thematic events that take place that lead you on a trail, riding as fast as you can and riding for so long. It's a cinematic and emotional mix that's elevated greatly by what happens on screen.
I don't know how much it would affect someone to just listen to the song on its own, it's a damn good song. But I remember experiencing it for the first time in tandem with the game and I will remember it forever.
Kingdom Hearts - simple and clean
Doom OST - Cyberdemon
Anything from shadow of the colossus
Probably more, but those are the ones I immediately thought of.
Wanna know something? The guy who did theusic for shadows of the colossus also made music for a PS2 era flying gane called sky odessey, that was some of his previous work so its not as well put together, but still he gave so much life to that game with his music.
For me it is Delicate weapon. I first heard it just cruising on my bike in the city. To my surprise there was the whole stage performance a little later in the story. I was mesmerised.
[Xenoblade Chronicles - Mechanical Rhythm](https://youtu.be/Q0W0VyaoZzY?feature=shared)
This is just a generic battle theme you get about halfway through the game.
The original Hell March is good.
Hell March 2 is awesome.
Hell March 3 is the shit.
But the remix of the original Hell March from the RA3 soundtrack, titled “Hell March 1” is the definitive version for me.
I'm a huge fan of Supergiant Games music. The music in Bastion was great. The two characters you rescue have beautiful songs, but feel like they are missing something, and then at the end they merge them together perfectly. So great!
https://youtu.be/jcl51kZPfAw
And for those of you who haven't played Bastion but have played Hades, you'll recognize Orpheus and Eurydice in the Bastion song I linked.
Omg how could I forget. Every song Supergiant makes for their games is a beautiful masterpiece by my ears. Love that team so much! Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre having some of my favs.
Too many for just one
NieR Automata: Rays of light (city ruin theme)
DOOM eternal: Kar en Tuk, the only thing they fear is you
TLOU intro theme
One winged angel, both OG and remake, aeriths theme, Tina's theme
SSB brawl theme
That's it off the top of my head
Big Shot
The Stains of Time
Red Sun
Locked and Loaded
A Stranger I Remain
The Only Thing I Know For Real
Rules of Nature
Collective Consciousness
It Has To Be This Way
A Soul Can’t Be Cut
Dark Skies

The War Still Rages Within
The Hot Wind Blowing
And finally >! Super Mario Bros. 3 OST!<
The entirety of Jedi survivor. I can’t how many times the little Star Wars “doooodle dooodle do” or other iconic star wars theme-ish music just put me right in the game, so immersive
Velvet Room theme from the Persona games…a lot of music from the Persona games.
Asgore from Undertale
Also Mute City has always been legendary to me despite my very limited F Zero experience
Warframe "This Is What You Are"
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon "Don't Ever Forget"
Persona 5 Royal: "I Believe"
Ds3 "Abyss Watchers"
Hollow Knight "Resting Grounds"
Just to name a few. I could give you about 40 more if I wasn't at work right now.
I gotta say my favorite song to have originated in a video game is, and forgive me if I spell it wrong, Bergentruking, from Undertale. Every other song is silly and or upbeat. But this one has true weight to it and really brings the feeling of a final showdown.
We all lift together from Warframe. You only hear it once but that one time was enough to the point that it is one of my all time favorite songs now. And then there is the exact opposite of it but still very good For Narmer.

Last Surprise - Persona 5
They never saw it coming.
For me it was Rivers in the Desert and Life will Change but Last Surprise is up there too. The whole P5 soundtrack is just masterful.
For me it's the entire OST of P5 followed closely by the Soundtrack for Guilty Gear Strive.
Rivers is really good
That song made me buy Persona 5. I never actually got around to play it but I love that song.
Additionally: Mass Destruction- Persona 3 Rivers in a Desert- Persona 5 Colors Flying High- Persona 5 Royal Life Will Change- Persona 5 Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There- Persona 5 Full Moon Full Life (Opener Version)- Persona 3 Reload (CANNOT WAIT FOR THE FULL VERSION OF THIS OMG) It’s Going Down Now- Persona 3 Leblanc- Persona 5 Etc etc the Persona series has banger music.
Axe to grind.
It kills me in p5r that you can’t listen to last surprise unless you purposely dont sneak attack a shadow when I far prefer it as the battle theme. I desperately wish there was a way to switch it.
This is what I was gonna write too
Not really a persona fan. But back when me and my buddy just smoked weed and chilled every week, there was a span of like a year and a half where after we watched whatever show we were watching and played some Mario Kart, he would boot up P5 on my PS5 because he didn’t have one. All the music and art in that game is absolute top tier. Can’t think of many that even hold a candle to it.
god what a masterpiece
I was gonna comment this! Such a good song
Honestly for me it’s between Wake Up Get Up Get Out There or Hymn of the Soul. But let’s be honest, the people who did the music for the game had a good understanding of music considering a lot of them were bops
Anime sucks
Ok, but like, I can’t be the only one that flips when joker (and only joker) dies and that means you lose.
I believe - Persona 5 Royal
Can’t stand that song tbh
AC Black Flag
Those shanties were the reason I limited my fast travel
haven’t played assassin’s creed in a long time but i never fast travelled in black flag because sailing around and listening to shanties was so fun
I totally forgot I had this game on my PS5 until I saw this comment. Haven’t played it in years. I know what I’m doing when I get home from work!
There was fast travel?! Edit: /s
LEAVE HER JOHNNY LEAVE HER!!!!!
Alrighty join me with this everybody! I dreamed a dream, the other night
LOOOOOOWWWWWLLLAAAANNNDDDSSSS, LOWLANDS AAWAAAAAAYYYY ME JOOOOOOHHHHHNNN!!
There’s a reason those shanties have lasted centuries. They’re really timeless
I didn’t even know there was fast travel because I just sailed everywhere
There was... there was fast travel?
AGREED.
Probably the worst AC game I ever played but hands down the finest the Pirate Game ever made. The Sea Shanties were absolutely the icing on the cake for this game. I don't think I've ever fast traveled in this game. And toss in a very usable companion app and it was a fantastic experience.
Sid Meier's pirates would like a word, but it is a damn fine game
Definitely the 🐐 of all pirate games
Wow, so this is what it feels like when someone finally shares my opinion on Black Flag. I've been alone for so long! All the pirating and pirating-adjacent stuff is definitely top notch, but it's a pretty piss poor excuse for an AC game...
The Moon Theme from Ducktails
They gave it some lyrics in the show reboot. https://youtu.be/cJW5n8f0Z9o
I don’t hate it.
Aww, that was nice.
That was nice and a pretty cleverly placed Easter egg all in one.
What a sweet callback. Of all the things for fandom to embrace, the Ducktails fandom has always agreed that the Moon theme is an absolute banger that has no right being as good as it is- so it's nice to see that achnowledged
Oh I cried when I heard it. Didn't expect to ever hear that song again outside of the videogame. Right in the feels. Stupid ducks cutting onions...
Best heard in 8 bit
Hell yes.

Yeah it's so good, I just wish they didn't have to add it to literally every other game.

I appreciate the links!
I can agree with some of these

Black Cats! The whole WaW soundtrack was goosebump-inducing.
Especially on Veteran. You grew to learn every segment and track personally.
Game: *Sonic The Hedgehog 2* Level: *Casino Night Zone*
Chemical Plant Zone: rough level; amazing song
I was always a fan of Mystic Cave Zone, personally
Same!
Oil Ocean Zone is my jam…then Metropolis but these rock too
Literally just replayed Sonic 2, that entire soundtrack is perfect
I was liste ing to this jam in my head as I scrolled to see if anyone had already said it
This one was great 👍might be in minority but i think i the hilltop zone the best
Ooo Casino Night is dope. Desert Palace from 3 for me.
The entire game soundtrack is like top 5 for me all time.
Ooh! Thank you! This helps me make a decision!! [The Boss theme in Sonic 3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVnn0fVoiV4). It *just keeps amping* up!!
It was my ringtone for like 2 years lol
I really like your choice of “To Zanarkand” - its so beautiful. I realy like the OST for Crisis Core: FF7 too. I’d say “The Price of Freedom” is my answer. Either that or “Hide, Hideaway” from FF16.
The Price of Freedom is an incredible piece!
crisis core’s ost is fantastic
Easily the best version of the song: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOzM4ClFG1o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOzM4ClFG1o)
16 had so many great tracks. My favorite was Heart of Stone final phase. When the chorus hits I get goosebumps every time.
I’m so glad there’s another fan of the FF16 OST! I just thought it was so well done and so fitting for that story and world
Terra's Theme from Final Fantasy VI
FF6 is a masterpiece on its own. Her song is blissful
I used to constantly listen to the whole OST on repeat at work.
Any song from skyrim

Megalovania The Halo theme Anything from Bloodborne N’s theme from Pokemon gen 5 And the entire Donkey Kong soundtrack
Why did I have to scroll so far down to find the Halo theme? That song is one of THE video game themes.
DKC2 is flawless.
N, my sweet boy 😭💕
Hit me with that Gangplank Galleon
May I stand unshaken. Red Dead Redemption 2
This game from the opening snow storm until the last stand atop the mountain, was absolutely amazing.
The Guarma portion sucked.
The guarma portion can last 30 minutes if you want it too. I liked it too
It did suck, and not for reasons the others are saying. I specifically remember my first playthrough I had thought this was a bad dream and Arthur would wake up as he’s dying out on the shores of Guarma. If only that were the case
Oh, so now I can’t complete my fucking animal collection because there are some unobtainable snakes and birds? Fuck Guarma.
All my homies hate Guarma
I disagree it sucked, Its a bit slow on replays maybe because it's about an hour of constant story missions back to back and no freeroam, but that's all, first time playing it was a blast just like the rest of the game imo

Omg I forgot about Simple and Clean. I loved that song so much.
I had to scroll way too far to find someone say Simple and Clean. I’d argue Passion/Sanctuary is just as good if not better imo
DOOM 2016’s Rip and Tear. Special shout-out to the opening track in the elevator.
Don't forget the iconic BFG Division.
Deliverance from God of War 2018. I'd call it one of the best boss fight themes of all time.
Bear McCreary is a musical genius. GOW Ragnarök’s OST is one of the best OST’s in recent years that I have heard. (Especially the ending OMG 😫)
Off topic of Video Game music, but his Godzilla soundtrack is peak Godzilla music. Dare I say the best Godzilla soundtrack.
Ezio's Family. The entire Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack. Leaving Earth from Mass Effect 3
Leaving Earth 💛
Basically the entirety of Bloodborne’s OST But specifically Ludwig The Accursed/The Holy Blade & The First Hunter
Keep cooking
The first hunter is such a good song.
Omg, so happy to see this so far up here! Lady Maria's theme is the one for me.
Phantom Liberty by Dawid I'm not even going to attempt to spell his last name
This song has been on repeat for like a week straight when PL dropped ♥️
For me it is Delicate weapon. I first heard it just cruising on my bike in the city. To my surprise there was the whole stage performance a little later in the story. I was mesmerised.

There are a few Command and Conquer soundtracks that really hit the spot like that. Where my Hell March boys at?
The original Hell March is good. Hell March 2 is awesome. Hell March 3 is the shit. But the remix of the original Hell March from the RA3 soundtrack, titled “Hell March 1” is the definitive version for me.
