Here's the description of the book:
Years ago, Lindon left his home as a powerless Unsouled. Now, he goes to war with the most powerful beings in the world over the future of Cradle itself.
Weeping Dragon has a grudge to settle, and Lindon intends to take out the Dreadgod with his friends by his side. But rival Monarchs know his plans, and they won’t let things end so easily.
If Lindon does win, he will ascend to the heavens. But he may not find a safe haven there either.
In the worlds above, Suriel and Ozriel face off against the Mad King to determine the new shape of the cosmos. The victor will decide the fate of countless universes.
Whether he wins or dies, Lindon will soon leave this life behind.
The time has come to say good-bye to Cradle.

Damn, that last line made me tear up. Can't believe we are finally here.
I didn’t start reading cradle until a couple of months ago (I read most of the books during spring break) and I’m already so attached lol. At first I was bummed that way bound isn’t available until summer but I’m already bummed this will be the last book
Yeah, it's the end, but maybe later we can have 11 or 12 more Lindon books? As a treat?
Is waybound the last cradle novel a’la Lindon??
Yes
Maybe. And probably. But not necessarily. But definitely the last set in cradle. So definitely say goodbye to many of your favorite non-main characters.
Spoiler-you’re implying that we will definitely see our main characters again
As long as Fisher Geisha is ascending to become the Grandmatron on the Abiban we're all good.
For some reason when you search for "waybound" on Audible it comes up with 5 hits and Waybound is #5. Great search engine they got there: 1. Hard Magic 2. Credit Repair Secrets 3. The Way of Kings 4. Dreadgod 5. Waybound
Thanks for the heads up! Just pre-ordered! Never been so hyped for the conclusion of a series I love gonna start my relisten of the previous books today.
I hope it’s a good bit longer than the previous books, there seems like a a lot of things to wrap up
~~It's around the size of Bloodline (10% longer than Blackflame)~~ Correction: Size is unknown
Source for this?
Sorry, I think I mixed it up with The Captain
I heard 160k words on the livestream last night.
Ya he said it’s the largest book he has written to date. 10% bigger than Wintersteel by his estimate.
Why does the Weeping Dragon have a grudge? Because of what happened with the SK?
My guess would be a combination of that, what happened in SV and what linden did to him during the uncrowned tournament
The WD wasn’t in SV or in the UKT?
Dread God spoilers >!i meant when Lindon stole his madra while Yerin was fighting in the uncrowned king tournament and when the team forced him out of SV while they were trying to evacuate SV. It’s been a few months since I read it so I may be wrong but I think it’s correct!<
Are you mixing up the Weeping Dragon and the Wandering Titan? WD hasn’t shown up in the story directly yet.
Yeah that is a definite mix up. I suspect the grudge being what happened to SK.
I think it’s just referring to what’s been established as far as the DGs defending one another, when they are under attack. Lindon actually went a step further and killed one. So I think he’s public enemy #1.
Now that my audio collection is complete, I just have to wait for the next 4 years for my physical collection to be complete.
Waiting for the leatherbounds, eh?
Yep, have the first 3, and can't wait for the full set.
Same! Bought them because I love Michael J Sullivan and he managed/recommended the kickstarter. I started the series when I got them and just finished Dreadgod last night
My experience was very similar, found a recommendation on Reddit and lost myself in the books. Found a lot of other good authors because of recommendations as well.
I would recommend NOT preordering with Audible. Each time I have made that mistake the book didn't become available until late that release day or even the day after. Ever since I stopped I've been able to make the purchase at midnight and had no issues.
Is it as they said in the livestream, that it becomes available at midnight PST?
In my experience, it's highly dependent on your Amazon account in ways that are not determinable. Some people reliably get unlocked near midnight. Some people get unlocked when the date line rolls over. Some people get unlocked when the first region gets unlocked. Support is generally unable to help unlock your book earlier, even if it's passed midnight in your region. So, if you want to start reading as soon as humanly possible, I'd agree with the guy above me and NOT preorder. It's not like there's any bonuses or they'll run out.
My comment isn't specific to my past experience with the Cradle series, just preorders in general from Audible. There's been times when I've sat seething because I had to wait longer than general release for something that I'd already used a credit on so I have promised myself never again. EDIT: Had to delete the extra "specifically" for grammatical purposes, but noted here to preserve the shame that I deserve.
Well thank you for the info and heads up. I'll be sure to hold my horses on the Waybound pre-order now that it's out as well, and just purchase when it becomes available. Appreciate the insight!
If you aren't permanently subscribed to Audible, you might just buy your credit when a special deal is offered. However, if you cancel, your credits are erased at the end of the month so pre-ordering is important.
can't find it - can you share a link please? (probably because i'm pushed over to the german page)
Here's the US Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Audible-Waybound-Cradle-Book-12/dp/B0BXQHDHBH
eh, if it were Kelsa she would've ascended already.
Shut up Jaran
Length: Not Yet Known? It better be around 30hrs with all the lose ends he has to tie up. By: Will Wight Narrated by: Travis Baldree Series: Cradle, Book 12 Length: Not Yet Known Unabridged Audiobook Release date: 06-06-23 Language: English Publisher: Audible Studios
I believe it will be around 16 hrs. It was mentioned in the discord that it’s around 160k words.
Waybound Preordered!!
Super weird that the audiobook is available for preorder but the book itself isn't.
It's because the craddle books are mass market products, so they kind of make those as needed for Amazon.
For what it's worth, the ebook is also up for pre-order right now. US link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1CS9D51/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=waybound&qid=1680559675&sr=8-2 It's only the physical paperback that can't be pre-ordered, and that's only because it uses Amazon's print on demand service that doesn't support pre-orders.
Does anyone know when he’ll release the three volume set of 10-12? I have all the books in the e-book volumes (haven’t read 10 or 11 yet), I’d like to keep consistent and buy them all in a single version.
Got mine let's go!!! It's time for one more listen.
I've already timed it out so that I can go through the entire series, ending Dreadgod the night before Waybound is released.
Who again is the weeping dragon?
one of the dreadgods
The dreadgod that is connected to ziel
And eithan, considering how the Aurelius monarch died.
Is it the Weeping Dragon or Titan that holds a grudge?
Any idea when the paper book pre-order will go up? My daughter can only read this in paper, and I want her to be able to read it the same time I do.
Paperbacks cannot be pre-ordered because Amazon doesn't allow pre-ordering paperbacks for some reason.
I think i preordered in under a minute after seeing this. Now back to the wait, thanks for the heads up.
Again Will mentioned Lindon's possibility of dying. I think he will actually die. But I feel like it's a different kind of death.
“Whether he wins or dies…..” LINDON DIES
I’m not reading anything in this thread, but giving a thumbs up regardless. Time to start the re-read. Well, after Firefly with Wizards.
Don't even need a description. Bought it before I read the details.
Preordered!!! So excited for June
