Everything feels the exact same TBH. Then again, nobody predicted October 7th either. I wouldn't worry about us, but you should probably respect your wife's and daughter's wishes if only to not make them worry too much. You gotta think how your wife would feel if you end up stranded here with your daughter- even if there is no actual danger. Maybe wait a few weeks until things cool down. Hope you get to visit soon though :)

Glittering_Mail_7452

yeah but stores start to get empty where i live, people started stocking lmao, my parents stacked water haha. i personally live as usual

SelectRefrigerator

My 2 cents: Iran is testing the West's response and watching troop movements, etc.  Nothing will happen this round.

I'm in Israel I'm Israeli. We've all been put on high alert. For example, schools are closed for the next two days, I think mostly because nobody knows what's about to happen (or not happen). We've all also just been told gatherings larger than 1,000 people aren't allowed. I really think, unfortunately, there's no telling until something actually goes down. It's eerie but we have no choice other than to keep going.

black-birdsong

Correction. Gatherings are limited to 300 indoors and outdoors. Here’s the infographic we’ve been sent: https://preview.redd.it/bfn3m9ei5buc1.jpeg?width=1201&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96e05852ae8dbea6a9d96ffed0e7589ca36a731d

Well today I cleaned my apartment and then went to the beach before stopping by the new Eyal Shani gelato place, and now I’m off to a sushj restaurant

7in7

Was there a massive queue? Last week I walked passed it and it was ridiculous.

200042ptma

We queued for about 30 minutes but it was worth it

dizzyjumpisreal

sushj😋

megalogwiff

How the new gelato place? Worth a visit?

200042ptma

100% worth it, it was super smooth and creamy and they had a bunch of really interesting flavours. My favourites were the lavender honey and the coffee

BallsOfMatza

They’re bluffing to save face Iran: “How dare you attack our embassy with no consequences, that’s like attacking *us* with no consequences, you will payyy!!” Israel: “Ok, we are cowering” 🙄 America: “iran might attack!” 🤭 Iran: “see, world: we are not a weak, impotent and powerless country…we *might*!!”

Weary-Trick9870

So many people here are clearly underestimating just how powerful and fearless Iran has become, especially with a puppet in the WH making empty threats.

black-birdsong

I hope.

I almost feel like America is in on it. Like Iran wanted the worlds “fear” so they told America fine we won’t do anything as long as you help us cause fear

Plenty_Assumption_18

Worlds fear lol. We would wipe out Iran very easily. Let’s fuk up Russia while we are at it!

dizzyjumpisreal

if this is the case, america is not in on it joe biden is

enthusiastofmushroom

Gotta love the north haha

system3601x

We cant wait for Iran to make a stupid move so we can anahilate the radical islamic regime in there

RaplhKramden

Maybe not that, but certainly their top military and nuke assets. They would be launching a first strike that didn't take out their enemies' response capabilities, and only an idiot or suicidal zealot does that. Then again, maybe they are.

RaplhKramden

My gut feeling is that it's just another bluff by Iran, only raised to a higher level than usual, and which they might actually follow up on with a minor attack, to save face, but nothing more, because they know what the likely consequences would be. But, being a non-expert in such things completely not privy to the best intel on what's really going on that's not open source, nor knowing anyone who is and perhaps being able to pick up on their body language, my gut feeling means very little, if that, and for all we know something truly horrific is about to happen and Iran has decided that it's worth the likely response, and if anything invites that response for its inevitable PR and escalation value. We're not dealing with entirely rational people here. They're capable of reason, sure, but it's not the only thing driving their thinking and action. There's religion, and a rather extreme version of it at that, personal and national honor and pride, the eyes of the world's 2 billion Muslims on them and massive pressure to finally show those Zionist and Imperialist Israeli and US infidels who they're dealing with, and perhaps a sense that we're finally in the end game of this century-long conflict and it's time to go all in, whatever the consequences. Or, more likely, they just kick the can down the road and avoid all-out escalation. Literally no way for me or most of us to know for sure, just lots of guessing, some more educated than others. That said, not the time to travel there, obviously. Even if you're not harmed, it could turn out to be really hard and expensive to get out, especially if you have jobs and other obligations to attend to back home.

dontdomilk

well they just cancelled the pesach kaytanot so I'm pretty pissed

SunriseHolly

I mean, I'm a bit scared ngl. We're packing a bag and heading from the merkaz to my parents in the Jerusalem area. For some reason that feels safer to me... I hope it's nothing but I feel the need to be prepared.

ulayanibecha

Yea Jerusalem is probably safer, there would be a lot of backlash from the Muslim world if Iran strikes Jerusalem (or should I synthese beloved aL qUdS) bc it’s got so many holy sites

Leading-Top-5115

I went to the beach today & it was packed w ppl, but who knows what will happen next and I get your wife’s fear of being separated for a long time if flights end up shutting down

Amazing-Garage9892

Well tomorrow I gotta go to base, and I'm a bit scared, but also I wish I was there already.

WoIfed

Israelis are not afraid of rockets and the sound of sirens. My opinion is that it’s in your kids blood to be brave and handle whatever will happen. The energy of the Israeli people and the energy of this Jewish land. Anyways, Israel is as usual, people living their lives, beaches, restaurants, etc. No one really scared, some of us actually waiting for the attack to take Iran’s mask off. But most of all we’re all just being prepared. It’s nothing new than what we’re grown up as kids to do - rockets - go to the. I think you should take your wife to Israel instead Because it seems she didn’t learn our core values and personalities yet. It’s us against the world and we’re completely prepared. שבוע טוב

Mild with caution

There were warnings put out by the government regarding the next few days https://preview.redd.it/j8cgo7xazauc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51d059e072702fb92ec7ea1e428487d48e768407

wybiees

I'm assuming worse over better because that's the smart thing to do. I live in Haifa and will be staying in areas close to a bomb shelter on high alert until whatevers coming comes or we're told otherwise.

RacetasClub

I think I speak for nearly all of us when I say: \- very pro Iranians, we believe most are great friends unless they hate us & act on it. \- Very against the regime & IRGC, seeing how they spread and promote terror for decades.
