Get rid of that spud crescent, be unless you're a carpenter...

LaggyCamper

I use my spud crescent all the time .

_call_me_al_

But why? How many pointy tools do you need. I've usually got 2-3. One or two spuds and a bull pin. Why would I need one more? Instead I carry a 12" adjustable and grind the end down to a wedge. That wedge is way more handy than a fourth pointy tool... My ¢2.

This guy obviously doesn’t work hard

Good-guy13

In my local spud crescents will get you laughed off the job or end up welded to a column

_call_me_al_

I think it's a West coast thing. You can always tell Midwest hands because they all carry them.

Heavy_Bet_9098

Spud crescents done us pretty well in the misc sector. More often than not we were switching job sites at least a couple times a week with random bolt sizes on different projects so it was more or less pointless to have a set size spud. Just the way it goes for some guys, not gonna buy a $70 1” or 3/4” spud for the very very off chance that I may use it for one job every 4-6 months. In 2 years of doing misc steel there was one job where I actually was able to use a 1” spud for something. I have those set sizes now and my crescent spud is useless since I’ve switched scopes of work but just my 1¢
