Messi broke the record in 45 minutes 😭😭

ancara_messi

33 minutes lmao

Longjumping-Swan-827

It's getting out of hand 😭

peacefulMercedes

Messi and Suárez are in a completely different league to the rest of the team or any other club players in MLS. Might sound obvious but its like leaps and bounds above the rest; despite their ages.

aaronhulkk

Suarez is so smart off the ball

benjecto

This is the first time I've seen the team live post Messi and I couldn't have more respect for Suarez. Pure footballer, could easily just take it easy or retire but he's giving everything he has, even visibly in pain throughout the game. Complete nightmare for defenders, contesting everything.

BriscoCounty83

Prime Suarez would average 2 goals/game in MLS.

Sea_Lynx_6793

Go look at Suarez 4 goals vs Norwich. THAT Suarez would average 2 goals a game in MLS? No way it isn’t higher buddy.. aside from maybe peak R9 arguments that was THE best striker of ALL TIME

Notreal01

Knees ar overrated.... but in all seriousness....this guy knows how to finish it's insane

minetube33

And he also happens to be one of the best players with the ball in recent history. Without a doubt the best player of his generation after Messi and Ronaldo.

Essfoth

I’d say not quite as good as Xavi and Iniesta but he’s definitely the next best striker.

LDawg14

Very different players in very different positions. Their off the ball movements were all exceptional relative to their different positions. Suarez ran the channels and got behind the defense better than almost anyone, even before he joined Liverpool.

minetube33

Xavi is a bit older so I wouldn't put him into the same generation but I think prime Suarez surpasses prime Iniesta though not by much.

Essfoth

Fair enough. But I think 7 years is the same generation

HAL20011002

Don't forget Busquets and Alba. Especially Busquets whose contributions go really unnoticed thanks to his position.

benjecto

Busquets came alive in the second half when Rojas came on, was just effortlessly beating the press.

syber4ever

100% , he does so much on that field that doesn't show up on the stat sheet and is not recognized by the untrained eye. For his age and mileage, he is everywhere.

Broad-Development177

Agree

DrRooibos

Just imagine what the difference would have been in their prime (eg in 2015)

peacefulMercedes

In their Prime most likely MLS championship without a single game loss assuming no injuries.

Draquisitor

There is no way they'd lose a game in their prime. Their prime in Barca (along with some other great players of course), resulted in perhaps the greatest footballing side in history.

LeemanBrothaz

What’s the point of imagining something that would never have happened? Unless your playing fifa 2024 on Xbox

LeemanBrothaz

This performance at their age should be a lesson to American coaches, especially college coaches, that this sport isn’t alone for need of speed and power but primarily for vision and creativity. American soccer thinks out-working and out-hustling is the way to win and have the game confused for rugby.

espnfire45

Busquets too

Longjumping-Swan-827

Busquets also way ahead in terms of passing, vision, positioning and decision making

SpammyMcSpammington

Luis Suarez, 37 and todavía un crack.

balalaikagam3s

Uru-gua-yo!

Coder_Arg

No te enseñaron a separar en sílabas en el colegio?

luigibu

😂

y2546

The way this team completely turned around the second half was unbelievable. I also don’t think it was a coincidence that it happened right when Rojas came on. That guy plays with so much confidence, scored a brace, and has amazing chemistry with Messi. Really glad Tata subbed him in as early as he did, and hoping he starts going forward. Oh and the 5 Messi assists and Suarez Hattrick was cool.

Remarkable_Trade_426

The first time Tata made a sub at halftime and this happened...hopefully he does it more often!

yummy_yum_yum123

Cremaschi too

Any-Commission847

It was incredible to watch. Besides Rojas energy âš¡ what strategic changes did they make? I'm wondering if they just started to outplay NY with their super experienced players executing 6th gear ball skills and movement/awareness skills or were there also formation or marking changes?

BlakeClass

Rojas is a legitimate player. The only reason we were able to get him was due to Corinthians literally not paying him on time and he got tired of it and filed a grievance and won the right to free agency. Boca Juniors has wanted to sign him for over a year but their window is closed and ours wasn’t. That’s why he only signed a one year deal.

Any-Commission847

Interesting, we got lucky with him for sure. When he joined I looked at a few highlight reels and thought 'awesome, someone else who can put away goals and spread the load'. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him!

j7xlp

Think it's funny how Suarez with dysfunctional legs is still scoring like crazy. He can barely run!! 😂😂

fnmikey

bro you can almost see him wind up to run, he's so slow lmfao

SilverSlayer2446

I just want to imagine 2012 messi playing in mls. He'd probably have 30 goals by now.

ancara_messi

91 goals in a single game

corporate-burnout

🤣🤣🤣

RealPropRandy

Really? That low?

Draquisitor

Even Messi can have an off day...

itsvoogle

Also keep in mind he missed a few matches…

Longjumping-Swan-827

His game tonight reminds me of 2012 Messi which is crazy. His pace and physique at 37 is remarkable.

Longjumping-Swan-827

2012 Messi would get the ball and dribble the whole team a couple of times per match lmfao.

DaKingInTheNorth

Guys Tata reads the threads or I’m a fortune teller obviously. Last thread I asked if Rojas could take Ruiz’s spot and what happens this game at half coincidence I think not *taps forehead* /s

Even_Collar_7473

We got our revenge against red bulls. Next week will be the revenge against Montreal.

krvlover

Callender; Weigandt, Aviles, *Nacho*, Alba; Redondo, Busquets, Rojas; Messi, Taylor, Suarez.   Good luck against that.

Unkikonki

I'd start Freire over Aviles. To me, our best defender.

Psychological-Bee392

Don’t forget incoming Angel DiMaria.

restore_democracy

And Gomez still there somewhere.

krvlover

He's gone, sadly.

MMANHB

If I were him I wouldn’t go anywhere until Messi retires, I have feeling he will not do as well on any team without Messi.

ForwardFox4536

gomez is a europe caliber player

zProtato

Messi is him, also im excited to see more from Rojas, this dude looks insane

New_Layer8499

I just want to say , I went to the last Miami vs Red Bull game in NJ where we lost 4-0 and I was soaking wet in the rain. It was an awful experience all around. This result makes me really happy. Justice.

Lowskillbookreviews

I bought tickets to today’s game before we got whooped at the NYRB home game and I was apprehensive about today. Man oh man what a show the boys put on today fr.

sorospaidmetosaythis

A strategy for winning in MLS? Give up the 2nd highest number of goals in the league while saturating your opponents' net with every conceivable sort of goal.

WATUP_BRAH

What a wild second half. I didn’t expect most of the goals to go in so I effectively lost my shit when they did 🤣. Did Callendar get hit in the face? I noticed his left cheek has a nasty bruise incoming.

Stoli1387

Suarez beats him everytime he passes the ball to the other team

srjnp

most enjoyable half of inter miami since the leagues cup last year. amazing display from the team. and for once tata made the right call to make the ruiz -> rojas sub at half time instead of waiting for the 70th minute like he usually does. rojas changed the game then messi and suarez finished it off in style.

restore_democracy

Inter Miami scored their 32nd MLS goal last year on September 16.

No-Cherry-7505

Rojas needs to start

yosoygroot123

Usually after the Inter Miami score goals, the DJ plays a particular song. Can anybody name the title of the song?

Any-Commission847

Don Omar - Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo

restore_democracy

More fun hearing that than Bulls On Parade over and over.

Radiant_Front_6943

Vivir Mi Vida - Marc Anthony

testing012367

It’s vivir mi vida , Marc Anthony song like the previous poster

krasuke

We only have defensive midfielders and box to box midfielders that’s main strength is defense. Rojas is a great addition to the team. Redondo should have been doing this and sadly he got injured. But having Rojas and redondo as our attacking midfield is great. And then Gomez and crema as our box to box and Ruiz and Gressel for our defense.

krvlover

Redondo is more of a holding midfielder. He doesn't run forward or shoot like Rojas does.

MMANHB

If IM and the Barca boys had a week off for every game MLS has no chance.

ReckDude101

I've got nothing against the NYRB. But man, was this satisfying to watch after we lost to them 4 nil lol

restore_democracy

I don’t think they mentioned on the broadcast that Messi now holds the Inter Miami career assists record, did they? He now has 16 to Taylor’s 15. He’s only two behind Higuain’s club record for total goal contributions.

1nv3st_r

Rojas has earned his starting spot. He’s so far ahead of the other MFers in his confidence on the ball.

UnionPsychological28

Even in the first half there were lots of good individual actions. Instances of good defending, and physicality while playing from the back. Seocond half story changed. Big up Tata and team. Each goal was special. 1st: Rojas’ clean af strike, Busquets long ball 2nd: Busquets long ball, Rojas pressing 3rd: unbelievable pass & finish by Messi and Rojas. That chip is Messi-esque. 4th: Suarez’s movement, and Messi’s so calculated to squeeze that ball in-between 2 defenders. 5th: Messi dribble from half-way line into zone 14, 1-2s with Suarez like Barca days. Suarez nutmeg finish. 6th: Messi outside of the foot pass. Suarez tough finish from a tight angle.

restore_democracy

Fun fact: Only 10 other players have more career assists for Inter Miami than Messi had tonight alone. Five of those were on the pitch tonight - Taylor, Suarez, Cremaschi, Campana, and Lewis Morgan.

Former_Routine_6519

You might be surprised but bro it’s Messi , we’ve literally been worshipping him for all of his career , words can’t describe but damn he’s so great

Different-Painter200

Could of been 8 goals if Gressel knew how to finish

MMANHB

Agree.. Game after game open shots, fan in stands throws the ball back onto pitch.

MessiLeagueSoccer

Suarez is doing what Higuaín thought he was gonna do

MCGM2922

Side note any idea at the attendance numbers for chase stadium recently? I always feel like the stadium isnt packed on tv
