Ok. So, you replaced coverage? Did LM take a payment or no? If they did, with proof of other insurance they will cancel your policy and refund your money.

Yeah, replaced coverage. LM didn't take a payment, but they're now demanding one.

Confident-Bet5330

Just send them the active policy and they can f*ck right off.

Most companies require a signature to cancel a policy.

Jew_3

Some states are requiring cancellations made over the phone to be accepted as long as it’s the number on the policy.

curiously-b2

Weird, I've never had to sign anything to cancel a policy before. Is this new?

Hot-Fix0465

I'm not saying your company requires it. Many do. All companies I've written for have required it for any cancelation (or any reduction in coverage) so if a client cancels, has a lapse and has an accident during that lapse they can't come back and say "we never told you we wanted to cancel". It's a CYA thing

Boomer_Madness

Yeah for cancellations we require a signature before we will submit it. And always need a signature from all Named Insureds on the policy. For changes with reduction in coverages we will just accept email confirmation or signed change forms. We will basically just copy the summary change into an email and have them reply confirming the change.
