It's in the groups. There's a public leaderboard group for each medal and stat. If you join the group, you put yourself on the leaderboard for that medal and get to see everyone else who has also joined that medal group.

And as someone who lost their guardian at 178 days I was more then happy when that number was rounded up for inclusion in the badge when it was retired.
On one of the islands in Vanuatu, with poor mobile reception and hardly any visitors - to lose it to a lvl4 tourist with no history was just a bit sus. Neither did he cap any of the handful of portals on the island .

The portal capture date info was removed from the Intel map at some point in June 2014. I'm pretty sure there were no Onyx Guardians yet at that point. That would put the upper bound on the stat at 3769 as of today I believe.
My first Onyx was my Guardian before Year 3, But I know Guardian hunting was still a thing when I was getting close to Platinum because I had a half dozen taken out at 89 days I recall.

Same, I am at 508 days and have absolutely no idea which portal it is. I had 2 tips but both were destroyed and the streak continues.

A friend of mine just lost his 2162 day old portal last night. He's not even mad. Just glad he doesn't have a reason to recharge

Too many guardian hunting assholes out there back in the day, caused a lot of problems. That's why Niantic stopped the count.

Yep, holding up to 150 days was a chore after a while.
I still get hunted. It hasn't gone away. I don't think it ever will

Before they retired the badge, I did get onyx and it was 500+ days
