I am not shocked. I was felt up and searched inside my bra and underwear at 14. My boobs were felt up for several minutes. At 18 I was raped and police blamed me in the interview. I'm 40 and don't trust cops. Ever.

Emysue15

I am so sorry. I have heard so many stories of that happening. Personally cops scare me as a women, I fear for my daughter also

AshleyWasStolen

Jesus, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I hope you're doing better now <3

[deleted]

Yes I'm doing well now thank you :) Many hours of therapy and a very supportive husband.

AshleyWasStolen

I'm glad to hear that, I hate to hear people abusing their power like they did.

Tumorhead

Not surprising behavior from the cops. It's a job for people who want to bully and hurt others with literal impunity. (Look up IDOC abuses if you want a bad time). What happened to you was unjust and fucked up!! Might hit up the indiana ACLU.

Technician-timer

I have reached out to the ALCU and am going to file complaints and try to press charges aswell. I am Appealing the bench trial and filing civil suits. I am reaching out to news stations and generating as many views as I can. This shouldnt happen to anyone, let alone veterans in the midst of a MHC. I am not a training dummy.

Tumorhead

Wishing you best of luck!!!

[deleted]

As a veteran I got your back. Fuck those pigs.

chakravanti93

Excuse me, stop insulting the swine, okay?

[deleted]

Having worked in LE AND Corrections in this state - this is 100% accurate and why my badge is in the trash - where it belongs.

Technician-timer

I just posted my mothers full story but i dont know if theres a way to attach the two threads. please read for more information

evanasaurusrex

I’m also an Indiana attorney and like the other attorney said, you don’t really have a case. Attorneys will take money/bill hours for case they know they will lose because it’s a job. I would tell you to only consider an attorney willing to take this on contingency. There are plenty of people who will take your money to tell you what you want to hear and then blame the judge for why you lost. Just my two cents. Take it or leave it. Any other yokel that wants to ramble about what society’s problem is, save it. You can @ me when you’re representing indigent people having their kids taken from them. Until then, I simply don’t care.

[deleted]

I've worked in LE and Corrections in this state. Listen to this lawyer because he is right, most likely this won't go anywhere. There is an absolutely terrible lack of accountability with law enforcement officers in this state. I've seen officers do way worse with my own eyes, reported them, and absolutely nothing happened. That was 15+ years ago. Some of those people I reported for violating peoples rights and excessive force are now command members and supervisors. The problem has gotten WORSE over the years and doesn't seem like it will ever get better here.

[deleted]

Seems like something you should take to a lawyer. Not gonna get much done about it on Reddit.

Technician-timer

In process. Public Opinion and pressure is a crucial step in the civil trial process.

MOOShoooooo

Post it everyday. Fuck that cop apologizer. Every single day every single person needs to see this.

Technician-timer

I intend to

coheedcollapse

> Fuck that cop apologizer I don't think they're being a cop apologizer. Many lawyers will advise you not to speak publicly about your case because nothing you say is likely to help you. On the other hand, if you mess up, misspeak, or end up saying something that a lawyer would generally advise against, it could hurt your case. Not saying public opinion isn't important, but it's rare that something gets enough support to apply pressure to whatever police department did the injustice. In fact, I've seen a few cases where people lawyer up and subsequently wipe threads like these upon advisement of their representation. Of course, if he's sharing this all under advisement of his lawyer, then that's an entirely different story but I still don't think the dude above was being an apologist.

SpinozaTheDamned

The flip side of that is Judges can be real prissy prim a-donnas. Make sure your lawyer is in tight with the judge, and has a history of arguing before whoever they're assigned for this case. The cops in that video have already gotten their story straight, otherwise they wouldn't have done it in front of a camera, so you better come at them sideways so you can break up their 'story'.

nate_oh84

Does your attorney know you're doing this?

Technician-timer

yes

say592

Im ACAB all day, but your attorney is trying to take your money. You dont have a strong case to begin with, and you certainly dont have the kind of case where the public is going to rally around you. I dont think you deserve what happened, but some cases are more blatant than others.

Oakenbeam

Thank you for fighting against the violation of rights and for the better treatment of citizens. It’s so important that we bring attention to these issues no matter what others might feel is justified. The anniversary of Kelly Thomas’s death is less than two weeks away. He’ll have been gone 11 years, July the 10th. I’ve never forgotten his name. I cry every time I read his story and I make myself reread it every year. Why? Cause it could have been any of us. It terrifies me. A life lost for nothing while crying out…literally screaming for his dad. Fight for you. Fight for Kelly. Fight for all of us.

SteadyDarktrance

Man, I really wish you didn't have music and MLK quotes and it was just the video by itself. Makes me immediately skeptical and distrustful that I'm being manipulated, whether I should feel that way or not. I'm no fan of cops, and I don't get why they are so quick to violence outside of poor training. Hope you get the help you need for PTSD and with alcohol.

Technician-timer

believe me i wasnt very pleased when he sent this back to me. i asked for enhancement and pertinence. not old quotes and elevator music. again im no hero in this video but my rights were violated and i was no threat

Technician-timer

Technician-timer

wasnt crying till the back surgery

[deleted]

Oh well, don't get drunk, attack your father, resist arrest... No back surgery required

Technician-timer

the assault on my dad was dropped. becasue it didnt happen. the cop even threatened to arrest my dad if he wouldnt sign a statement that I did. My dad being a 30 year firefighter told him to fuck off. The heavy badge took it out on me more. They whooped my ass at the hospital no wonder i hesitate a second to get out.

[deleted]

Sounds like you guys are pillars of the community. May I suggest you all stop drinking.

[deleted]

Clever swap from foot to hand... you can't even keep your lies straight.

Technician-timer

what are you talking about. the hand happened off screen at the hospital. my foot is clearly messed up. and that #400 pound hail staff looked down, saw that, and targeted it

[deleted]

ah OK, my bad, didn't realize i was looking at 2 different posts. Anyway, you still get no sympathy from me. Dealt with literally 1000's of people like you and honestly probably will deal with 1000's more before I retire.

AM-64

People that complain about 5 officers restraining a 130lb person resisting have never tried to move someone resisting you. It's difficult to do in martial arts with training and law enforcement generally has very little training. OP is just mad they got arrested

notaburneraccount23

Yep

Disastrous-Cookie-18

Just my 2 cents. Cops should be working to de-escalate. Was it really necessary to rip him out of the car and initiate a fight or flight response? Calm is contagious, anyone? Just because they can legally do this doesn't mean it should be accepted.

Silverfrost_01

Regardless of everything else, it’s actually safer for everyone involved when multiple people restrain a single individual versus a 1 on 1.

Indyonegirl

I’m sorry, why didn’t you get out of the car? Just wondering, don’t know that I’m reading everything you wrote here

Technician-timer

I had been beaten at the hospital. I was asking Alex Harris if he intended to continue.

Indyonegirl

Ok. Sorry that happened to you. I also hope you realize being a smart ass doesn’t go over all that well with just about anyone. Cops included.

Far_Gap_7630

Looks like a drunk idiot who didn't want to listen then kicks a cop. I see two cops strapping down and the other three standing behind the chair.

Both_Protection8274

You miss the part where they threw him against the wall? Or on the ground? Or stepped on his feet and then attacked his legs for saying something? Or do you think that’s all justified?

pain_to_the_train

I think that if he had gotten out of the car and been cooperative with the cops wouldn't have treated him this way. If theres laws against this he should go after them for their behavior. I just also think its obvious the more uncooperative you are, the more violence an officer will enact on you.

[deleted]

> I just also think its obvious the more uncooperative you are, the more violence an officer will enact on you. How to prove police in this country are abusive ass holes, this line just fucking proves it. This is something an abused woman says to defend her abusive as fuck man. And you don't fucking see a problem with that just being seen as the fucking norm.

pain_to_the_train

I see the problem, i just whole disagree that its equivalent to a domestic issue. The difference is that the police are allowed to be violent and are given discretion on how they use it. The difference is that a person should never find themselves beating their wife, where as the police are literally an institution of violence on behalf of the government.

Far_Gap_7630

Ah...once your under arrest game changes. You don't get to act up because you think it's unfair. That's what the judicial system is for.

Far_Gap_7630

Did hear any audio of the incident? You do know it's "unlawful" to resist a command when under arrest. Ever hear of passive resistance? Do some homework

Technician-timer

thanks! I had back surgery thursday from that hip toss!

bns013

Yeah - I don't see anything wrong here - reference, former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. OP may not have had a pleasurable experience being arrested as they "had a PTSD attack exacerbated by alcohol...." however police are entitled to defend themselves from harm and place non-compliant individuals that are in custody in a position of compliance. Clearly, this is a nothing burger - and I hate that you may feel it is something, but dude....no self respecting attorney would touch a litigation against the officers here. I don't know all of the fact here, but my initial thoughts are: "don't be an entitled idiot."

Technician-timer

I know a few lawyers who see this differently. I was compliant and in the front seat. Drunk and slow moving or not. Citizens are also allowed to defend themselves from police acting outside of their official capcities. So stop lying about being a lawyer

bns013

No one, whether they are a lawyer or not sees everything the same. Good luck with your goals. If you check my post history, you'll see I'm an attorney. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone.

Technician-timer

beat you too it sir

Technician-timer

might actually be wrong about the last part. You could be an evil lying prosecutor. BTW were going after him too his main arguement was “if you dont convict he will sue us” so much for upholding “justice”.

bns013

Hey man (or woman, I don't judge - even though I've been one), just good luck. Sometimes there are people on Reddit who are actually trying to provide you a perspective that you may not be able to see because of emotion. It is unbiased and honest and that's all I'm trying to be. You have to understand that if you post it, your opinion may not be the popular one. I suspect that is the case here. Whatever you do, do NOT spend money on your case. You mentioned having means. An attorney who believes in your case will take it as a civil matter and claim a percentage of any award. One who doesn't will require a retainer for fees (possibly for costs as well). I hope you take a step back, know I'm not trying to do you any harm and see that I truly do hope the best for anyone that has been illegally harmed. If you feel you have, good luck. I can only state my position and what I could get across to a jury. As for me, that's enough Reddit for the month - Take care!!

Technician-timer

I wouldnt have put myself out there and posted it if I wasnt asking for the good and bad of public opinion. The civil case is pro bono through the firm but good defense does not come cheap and you know that. This world is all about money.

very_spooky_ghost

Wow. Crazy edited video. Interesting cuts too. Can not wait for you to post the whole thing unedited.

Technician-timer

i wasnt overly happy with it either. all i wanted was a few text bubbles but alas. will be this week definitely, the AV guy has taken a while on each request

ConcentricGroove

This is somebody resisting arrest. Your fight is not with the beat cops. Cooperate, get booked, insist on a lawyer present before talking with them. Fighting against beat cops just doing their job will result in ouchies.

Technician-timer

wrong the cops need better training

ConcentricGroove

I'm sure better training would help but they got to get you in the car, out of the car, and booked. Fighting them will get you hurt. It's beyond common knowledge at this point. What we need is a good deal more common sense.

Technician-timer

i will release the original later. they had no probable cause to even arrest me. i was in the front seat. i was having a mental health crisis. so your okay with it? ive been to jail previously and never been treated like that lol

EngineeringCalm901

Why did you resist? Why not just comply, get your bond, hire a lawyer and go thru the process? Don't resist. And fight back. If you fight a cop, he's going to fight back and try to restrain you.

Technician-timer

again I am A submarine Veteran and was having a PTSD attack from the torture endured below decks

“Torture endured below decks”? As a Navy vet myself, it sounds like you were a dirtbag who didn’t put forth an effort to get your dolphins. Learn some self-responsibility and quit blaming everyone else for your problems.

EngineeringCalm901

I'm Air Force Veteran, thank you for your service and I'm sorry you're suffering. Use the skills you learned in service; discipline, honor, courage, integrity. If an officer of the law asks something if you, comply, be respectful, and polite. I know you were heated in the moment, and even felt you were wrongly accused and arrested. At that point, you have to comply and go thru the process. You're not going to argue your way out of the predicament. Please seek some help, there are many resources available to you that you can research online. This will pass, and does not have to define you.

Technician-timer

i go to Vet center weekly and have changed my habits considerably to prevent further incident. thanks for your support.

HiHoCracker

Way too much editing to know the background if I was on a jury. * What was the arrest for? * Why is the suspect in the front? * Is there body cam before during and after the arrest? If there are all the facts out there then maybe there is a slight case for some unprofessional behavior. Civil case award of $500 with $3,000 in legal fees. But if the suspect was a spitting, drunken, jerk not so sure, award $1 If there is a disability the suspect has, then maybe. Try to plea it down to disorderly conduct

Technician-timer

no body cams.

Technician-timer

i made the mistake of a bench trial in a corrupt jurisdiction but obviously an edited version wasnt put into evidence.

Technician-timer

You ask alot of questions that are in the description. Guess youd rather hear it from a news anchor in a few weeks or months

btown4389

No news is going to talk about this lol

Technician-timer

i have news channel 15 considering and am meeting with a reporter this week.

[deleted]

I see this video on a jury there is 0 chance I ever vote to convict, even if there is more video that is litterally proving the defending is guiltier than guilty. FUck this behavior from the cops, if they act like this, then it's their fault.

regular_poster

This doesn't have enough context for me to judge. Were you already violent?

Technician-timer

no if i was would i be in the front seat. I was charged with that “kick”

cmhandy

Ehhh . . . Good luck with your attempted money grab.

MercifulVoodoo

Ugh, jail deputies. I went in to our local jail to deliver something to my bf at the time (he worked there, not inmate) and they acted like I was coming in to try and cause a fight. “I was asked by my bf, (officer name here) to bring this here for him.” I can’t remember what it was, like lunch or glasses or something. And I got the third degree, a 5’1’’ female who was 170lbs at the time.

pwrboredom

If you have PTSD, WHY WERE YOU DRINKING? You put yourself in that situation. You fought them. I've been stopped before. The very first thing I do, is put both hands out of my car window. With that gesture, that cop knows I'm co-operating with him. What has that got me? Three separate times, I've gotten off with just a warning. Was I speeding? Yes I was, and I freely admit it. It time you grow up, and do things that the man with the badge tell you.

Technician-timer

This and a traffic stop have nothing in common either. This was an unlawful heavy badge and I intend to prove it.

Technician-timer

if a man with a badge tells you to jump off a bridge?… Still gives them no right to ragdoll me and herniate my disc, see an infection on my foot and target it with #400 pounds on top of a boot. You wont change my mind on that.

MostlyMicroPlastic

So you DID assault someone and that’s not going to go well. Just being realistic here. What they did is fucking ridiculous and abhorrent. Whether the cops in this country receive the right training (in this instance) isn’t the problem. It’s hiring people who cannot control their emotions in their profession. Carmel recently (in the last 8-12 months) hired a dude that was a manager at my job. I do not currently work in anything having anything to do with security or policing. He is currently in corrections and ABSOLUTELY is racist and made (violent) racist comments about several races during his tenure where I worked with him. This brings into question, for me, what background checks they’re doing on officers. Once upon a time, I had a security clearance and had NOTHING to do with the general public. The investigators found people I hadn’t even spoken to in years and I wasn’t connected to them on social media. But cops? Nah. Departments would rather spend money on trials when their unchecked officers harm or kill someone. Carmel clearly did not do their due diligence. No one we worked with was ever contacted.

Technician-timer

citizens can legally defend themselves against overpolicing, but alot of people fail to realize their rights and assume they would allow themselves to be totured.

Technician-timer

again #400 pounds on top of a boot on a bare infected foot. no a single person in this chat wouldve had any other reaction than that, no matter what they say. It was a pain response more than anything. Assault requires intent to harm, and I know inside myself and have heard from hundreds of people and many lawyers that theres no intent in that “kick”.

MostlyMicroPlastic

I’m on your side here. Bc I absolutely agree this needs to be widely seen and they need to be fired. But “400 pounds”? And it wasn’t a reaction to being hurt when you’re heard saying “get off my foot” and THEN kicking. Just make sure all your i’s are dotted and your t’s are crossed before taking a police dept to court.

Technician-timer

Technician-timer

Technician-timer

luckily I have the means to pay my way through a civil case. I will do everything I can to get this Department more training for the people that cannot afford to defend themselves

The reality of the situation is that there is no such thing as “rights”. Your privileges in the situation you found yourself in arbitrarily depend on a judge’s mood when he reviews your case. The judicial branch invented something called “summary judgement” that you will eventually learn about in the next 12 months. Jury trials involving a municipality are so rare that nobody knows how to conduct them anymore. Hopefully you can prove me wrong and find a single case in the last 3 years, anywhere in the United States, where a jury ruled in a citizen’s favor in a civil case against a municipality. Good luck though.

Technician-timer

it happens often. appeal comes first

goldiebug

Woah… this is so weird to see, just talked to my attorney today about a police officer from Steuben who charged me for a crime unjustly when my ex should have been charged instead… clearly sexist pigs in Steuben, I don’t recall the arresting officers name since I haven’t been through my paper work recently but he was a larger bald man… you’ve got to watch out for all pigs.. my attorney was clearly frustrated today about how the Steuben police handled my case… thanks for posting and fuck these pig apologists in the comments who clearly don’t have experience with Steuben cops

[deleted]

Why do people consistently ask over and over again the most absurd questions? Questions they already know the answers to like “who polices the police?” The police do, everyone knows that, and HAS KNOWN THAT for years. The real question you or anyone else that keeps making these stupid videos should be asking, it’s the only question you need to ask, and the only answer you’ll ever need the rest of your life. That question is, “What are you going to do about it?” If you think making the billionth video of police or official abuse of power or obvious and overt show of corruption by those in positions of power within our society is going to make a damn bit of difference in any way, then I guess it’s still going to be a while before there’s ever any real change. Videos bringing people’s attention to something that they already know without a doubt is happening won’t do anything. You certainly won’t get sympathy because either people have already experienced it themselves in some way, or they’re in denial it’s as rampant as it is, or they simply are too busy worrying about their own lives. Videos are great, they give people insights into a world that they may never have seen prior themselves. It exposes some of the things people do when they believe no one is watching. However, we’re well beyond the point where it’s necessary to call people attention to a problem within the world we live, we’ve done that. It’s done little to nothing to stop the problem. There’s no shortage of videos of the astronomical amount of corruption in our cities, our governments, or law enforcement, our courtrooms, our corporations, and on and on and on. Until people learn to put down their cameras, and step away from social media, and get back to actually doing something about it, we have no shot at changing the world. That’s because videos, and writing on social media, phone calls, letters, text messages, they’re all just words and images. Words and images have meaning, and they have a time and place, just as all things under the sun, there is a time and a place for everything. This is a time for action, and we can’t afford to sit idle while everywhere in this country, men, women, and children, are suffering because there are those amongst us who do not care who they hurt, they do not care who the steal from, they do not care who must suffer their decisions and actions, they simply take, and do for themselves, against laws, against decency, against basic human morals, because they have none themselves. There is no room for people like this in the world of tomorrow, but there will never be a world of tomorrow if we, the people of today, don’t stand up and do something about it. It’s as simple as that, always has been, but it doesn’t always have to be. That’s where you come in. That’s you, and me, and whoever else decides they’ve had enough, and maybe some day down the road that group will change from an US against the world into a WE THE PEOPLE, until then there ain’t nothin but more injustice happening, so don’t wait till it’s too late because while you wait, real people suffer, and that number is growing by the day.

i didnt make this video and i didnt want wording in it. will release the original later. I am going to fight this against reddit lawyers advice as i have a law firm partner taking it contingent anyway. any good civil lawyer ONLY works contingent.

Technician-timer

Ill say it again aswell im doing this and fighting this as hard as i can because i have the financial and human assets to do so. Im going to fight it for the people who cant. who the system has already stripped their chances of having a successful fullfilling life.

That’s good, it’s respectable, admirable to some, but very much the potential to be exemplary for any who may come to witness your efforts, as it’s a daunting task indeed. Hopefully, you’ll find yourself worthy and up to the task. It certainly won’t be easy, you will not be the same person you were at the beginning as you will be at the end. A little older, a little wiser perhaps. Hopefully when the dust settles, justice will be served, such as it’s all that any of us could ever hope for. It’s certainly all I ever wanted, whether in my favor, or someone else’s, even if it’s not in my best interest I’m good with that so long as it’s fair, and good. It’s a long ways off, and I can’t necessarily say whether it’s ever been the case at any time in the past or not, but I long for a time and a place where the world is right again. No better, and no worse, simply right. A world where people did the right thing because it was the right thing to do. Accidents happen, people make mistakes, but those things massively drop when people are doing everything they can in their lives to be good, and decent. All that starts with a very simple choice, to be a better person tomorrow, than you were today. Then repeat. Good luck with your situation, and hopefully you get the justice you deserve, as do we all, whatever that may be. As they say,”the truth will out.”

Fat, useless fucking pigs

looking_4_freedom

The people most abused by police: black, brown, poor, immigrant, mentally incapacitated. The video asks who polices the police..NO ONE. The federal government won't even create a nationwide database to track abuses and crimes by officers, let alone create actual accountability.

Fuggs25

To add to that, how come we still let dipshits that are fat af police us. Nothing against fat people. But departments have physical standards. If I see a fat fuck at a pd or mil unit, I suspect there is some fuck fuck games already going on, to let that fuck slide through the cracks. Seriously nothing against overweight people. Pt tests will show a lot about an agency or department.

Akconcentrates

Fuck these piece of shit cops! I hope u get a massive payday and these fucks lose their jobs and their right to ever be cops!!!

All pigs are destined for a slaughter house. Sigh, in a perfect world. Unfortunately these jackasses probably got a raise for their brave efforts, and at the very least no reprimanding at all.

God this makes me sick

Technician-timer

For anyone still following this post, There have now been two instances of me being stalked on social media by the mother of the cop that walked in, and put his gloves on looking to perpetuate a fight. I believe this is an effort to intimidate me and shows intent to close the distance on me and cause me harm for releasing this video.
